I wasn t going to post this, but I m up at The Spot, waiting for my check. Along with 3 other employees! Shalonda Smith the fact that it s 6pm on payday and you literally left without paying us! So here s just a snippet of what s been going on at The Spot This is gonna be a long one but yall need to hear this! Shalonda Smith who owns The Spot Bar and Restaurant in Killeen has no clue how to run a successful business. She sits at that bar all day long everyday and gets belligerent drunk. She forces her employees to over serve her, and if they try to tell her no, she will fire them. She treats her customers terribly, and her employees even worse. When she is paranoid or has done something wrong, she deletes the camera footage so she won t be held responsible. When it comes to pay day, there is always an excuse. Her employees have to beg for their checks (well actually cash because all her checks bounce)!! She picks and chooses who she pays and when. If she thinks you ve been slacking, she won t pay you for days, even a week sometimes after payday. When she does pay, she takes money out of your pay for taxes and then keeps it for herself. Employees can t even get a paystub, so how are we able to prove our employment!? She has recently gone cash only. She is saying that the POS won t run credit cards and it will hopefully be fixed soon when in reality she is wanting to be able to pocket all the cash and not have to wait for the money to be released to her. She constantly claims she has no money for herself, but she constantly has a pocket full of cash. THE BARS CASH, not her own! Her favorite bar is McDermotts in Killeen. She goes everyday, gets wasted and then come to her bar and drinks for the rest of the night. She come back behind the bar and takes everything from the safe. She doesn t put anything in a deposit bag, she puts it directly into her pocket. No receipts, or sales reports just the cash. She owes so many vendors money that she has been outsourcing for liqour, beer, and food. In 7/6, during a going away party, we had run out of liqour so she sent a CUSTOMER to the store to buy handles of liqour. She then came back behind the bar and yelled at me for throwing away our liqour bottles that have TABC stickers because she wanted to pour the handles into them so of TABC comes in, they think we got them from our vendor. That is illegal and there is no way I will risk my liscence for her. She also owes $96,000 to the IRS for past taxes because she was audited and they found major discrepancies. On 7/6/24, she SPIT on a regular customer!! Called her names and then SPIT on her!! She is out of control and needs help! Many people left because of the drama, which means the bar lost money! I love that bar, the customers, and the employees but I can never work for a human being like that ever again! She is an animal that is so out of control! That business will never be successful with an owner like her. I hope one day she is removed and her son is given control so that he can make that place the place to be again!The Spot Bar &Restaurant LLC Veteran Owned Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission

Overpriced food. Went Saturday noon. No toilet paper in mens bathroom and the outside area was not cleaned from the night before but there were 4 people at work. Very trashy. The bar had dried food on the the counter top. CO2 was out so you could only buy their $4 beers. Wont be returning.

Nice place to go. I enjoy myself every time I go to the spot. Good music, good people, and good food. Nice area in the back of the club to socialize with different people. I would recommend you go there for an afternoon of entertainment.

Love this lil bar its a cozy little atmosphere not a ton of people. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A selected menu item but food is very good. Staff is great! A nice little spot to stop into for drinks and wings or tacos and good vibes!

I went for a celebration, in which they had food there. So I dont know if the food is good. Unless they cooked the wings and catfish and that was good. I have seen people go in and get food for takeout. It was my first experience. I love the outdoor patio. Inside is nice but small. Friendly. I saw a sign that stated no kids after 10 pm.

The Spot is a very chill place. I love hanging outside in the back, because its refreshing and relaxing, especially during the fall season. There are games to play also, inside and outside. Parking: Parking is pretty decent. Kid-friendliness: Its kid friendly during the day only.

It is a very nice bar for the community. The food was hefty for the price. We didnt get the full experience, there wasnt a live band playing that night or visit the cigar room. So we will be back.

Love the changes made here by the new owners. The outside has gotten a nice remodel with games and lots of seating. Inside is open, the staff is accommodating and friendly. I recommend coming here if you havent already! Parking: Nice sized lot for the building. Plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly entrance and back patio.

Its not too much to The Spot. This place is a small bar with local people (all kinds of people) who frequent this bar. You can get wings, burgers fish etc. The employees are nice and they know you by name if you go there often enough. I gave it 4 stars because on different times I got the cheeseburger and it was fried extremely too hard and the wing sauce was watered down however I dont know what they do with the fries but they are amazing I will go back and try it again. Stop by if youve been thinking about it. Its a nice place to hang out. Juke box and sometimes a DJ with a small dance floor.

The bartenders were no where near customer friendly. We sat waiting like we were a bad rash. I asked for Chardonnay the lady had no idea what I was talking about. Then when I told her she gave me the brand and not the actual wine. She gave me moscato and she didn t know it wasn t Chardonnay the young African American women seemed agitated that the lady had no idea what to do or what direction to go. If you want to be a bartender pleaser learn the lay of the land. Customers want to communicate with bartenders it s part of a social setting. Trust me I won t return for the drinks or bar. They ALL need proper training and they need bartending social skills. I ve been in this neighborhood since 2009 and when we had NOTHING except houses were cordial and peaceful. We don t need a bar with employees that make active duty, veterans, and there family members uncomfortable. If you want to be a part of the solution then do it with great employee who want to make a difference and not just collect a pay check

So 1st time here and when ordering my drink of choice told no pineapple or cranberry juice. A customer bought some at the store next door. There was 1 menu in the place the had y ne shared by all customers. And it was a paper copy. Food was ok but not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick for hanging out .

I ve only had the wings when it comes to food, mostly because they re so good I just order the same thing every time. They have DJ and karaoke nights as well as live music. The staff is incredibly friendly and great at what they do. They also have a large outdoor area for entertainment with somewhat secluded picnic tables so you don t feel so close to other people if you want to spread out.
