2024 UPDATE: I purchased in 2020 - what I was told a 2016 dodge challenger. After being pulled over multiple times I cannot handle this anymore. All the paperwork in my car is for a 2016, when I look up my vin online I see 2016, but whatever the police see from their end, says 2015. The car was specified to be registered under Carole and they entered Carlo . After reviewing the paperwork and before signing, we pointed out the typo and the proceed to tell us that it is spelled Carlo because all the letters of Carole wouldn t fit? Looking back now, we should ve refused to sign, but I had never bought a car before and didn t know any better. So just a fair warning to any first time buyers: if ANYTHING is misspelled or incorrect, MAKE THEM FIX IT. It will save you confusing conversations with officers, and you won t have to pay to fix their mistakes. 10/10 go here! Ask for Ane! (ah-ne) He is the best! He made the car buying process super easy for me.

This has to be the easiest and quickest car selling experience known to mankind. Yes. Mankind. The world. I sold my car in less than an hour and was walking out with a check in my hand. It s only been a few days but I m expected to see the loan (payoff) and my check (since I had a little bit of equity) clear by this coming week. Meaning, I was in and out in less than one hour and made whole in about one week from sale. Mind blown. I don t think I will ever trade in a car and will only sell to CarMax. Holy-Business Model. Genius format. Thank you!!

These folks lie to you. They say they will do something when they won t. They pretend to care and then zero follow through. Communication is nonexistent can t get them on the phone. Either they don t answer, put you on hold for 37 minutes three different times or you reach a voicemail box that is full or not set up. They lie lie lie still waiting on a returned phone call that is probably never going to happen. They cant do the job right after give it them SEVERAL chances. Stay away from here.

However I had to call THEM about pick up and then they informed me that the car is actually being serviced but that was earlier this week. I have not received an update since. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER - DO NOT BUY FROM CARMAX!!! This entire operation is a joke and they give used car dealers a bad name. Completely disorganized and they dont even try to fix their mistakes - just try to upsell you to another vehicle or extended warranty plan. I would have given 0 stars if it was an option. Buyer beware, sold me a car with bad battery, windshield wiper reservoir not hooked up and windshield trim falling apart. They do not inspect cars before they sell them. Service department is even worse, if they ever answer their phone theyll say they will order parts but they do not. Worst decision Ive ever made.

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received. I purchased a car four weeks ago, and on the day of my purchase, I noticed an aesthetic problem with the car. I went to the service department and placed an order for the missing part. The person who assisted me informed me that it would take about one to two weeks to receive the part. However, it has now been a month and a half, and I still havent heard anything from them.

Not sure if it was a location issue or all locations are the same but the whole experience was not good. I did an online offer to sell my vehicle. Received a quote I was happy with and wanted to proceed with the process. I called my local store to confirm some details like getting the car delivered to the dealership for the in person inspection, I was told I could get it towed and they would do everything ahead of time and I d just have to show up and finalize my offer. That was a lie, when AAA showed up to deliver the car they refused to take delivery of the keys and vehicle unless I was there. After the driver called I rushed to the dealership to meet him since he was also inconvenienced, I checked in the car to start this long two hour process. After waiting my name was called to accept my final offer and they deducted $1,700 from the original online offer, no explanation, no one to talk to or negotiate, it s just a take it or leave it situation and they rush you because they have better things to do. Now my vehicle wasn t perfect it s 11 years old but for its age it was it very good condition aside from a few things i mentioned online before receiving the first offer like small scratches, no dents and needed two tires, little over 100k miles, things they knew about so I m not sure why they took $1,700. Me and my son were upset but he took the offer because he was trying to buy his new duramax truck so we settled. After some more waiting we were called again to sign paperwork, title and receive our check. After leaving we went directly to the bank to cash the check to go to the next dealership to buy my sons truck and we were told we cannot cash the check it had to be a deposit. They failed to tell us the check is a draft check which cannot be cashed. That is a inconvenience and something that should be told to customers. They are taking peoples cars and making them wait for the money. When we called they the store, a lady picked up and insisted that she informed us of this information in a very rude and condescending tone. Once we realized she was no help we disconnected the call and informed the Chevy dealer of the situation. Luckily they were understanding and let us pick up the truck that day and pay them the following day after the check cleared. Sad thing is even a different dealership said that is shady business. This was our experience, do what you will with this information.

I purchased a car yesterday at Carmax in Irving and it was the easiest process ever in my 70 years of purchasing cars! Ane Onoh was my sales agent and he is an easy personality to work with when you re spending money and trying not to stress about it! Lol As you know it takes time to get the transaction done so again Ane made it a pleasant few hours. My god people, if you are looking for a car, stop what you re doing and go to this location in particular. Nick helped me, I don t have his last name, but he had a long beard is all I remember. Best salesman I ve ever worked with, and I ve been treated very poorly as a lady coming in alone at other locations, he took the time to answer all of my questions and not once did I ever feel stupid for not knowing something about the car. Had to get a couple tires replaced on the car that I bought as the tread was too low, was the most painless process I ve ever been through. Brought in a copy of the receipt and they credited me immediately. Juan at the front desk was super kind, even when I had no clue where to go for the receipt he didn t make me feel stupid for asking at all. The people in the finance department were incredibly kind, don t have their names though. I even went to the service center to ask them what on earth they spray in the new cars to clean them with, it is the most wonderful smell I ve ever smelled and they helped me figure out what it is so I can get some of my own. I refuse to buy a car from anyplace besides Carmax. I spent four years looking for the type of car that I found and it was so stress-free, I got in my car and cried afterwards, very pleasant experience 13/10 would buy from them again. I wish there were more stars so I could give them a higher rating than five stars, it s super easy to get into the app to make payments, and I promise you that the MaxCare plan is worth it if you buy an older car like I did.

If I had the option to write a -5 star to the power of 10, that would be the option!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LOCATION if you want a QUALITY VEHICLE and QUALITY SERVICE. I purchased a 2020 Jeep Renegade from the sales guy Josh on 06/1/2024. The vehicle that was sold was infested with spiders. The spiders and bugs started coming out on the 3rd day of driving it. There were a few other issues with it as well. I returned to Carmax on 06/7/2024 to take it to the service center and discuss options regarding the situation.It had only been about 4-5 days of driving the vehicle. I requested to speak to the service manager Travis to discuss the return policy. He demonstrated lack of empathy and basically just offered to fix the issues. Showed absolutely no concern. Thereafter, I agreed for them to fix the issues. As a paying customer I expect the issues to be fixed. WELL!!!! They called me to let me know that they wouldnt be able to service it until 06/22/2024 which went well over the 10 day return policy. They put me in a loaner that also had a few bugs in the vehicle. I returned the first loaner and got into another one. I then received a few other phone calls to let me know they ordered the wrong parts and my vehicle would be ready on 07/5/2024. HOWEVER, when I arrived to pick up my vehicle it was dirty, and looked the same as it did when I first dropped it off for service on 06/7/2024. They failed to deliver quality service and who on earth would sell a spider infested vehicle. See picture attached. There is a full blown spiders nest in the window seal cracks! The vehicle was supposed to be returned to be on 07/5/2024. It is now 07/15/2024 and CARMAX has ONCE AGAIN attempted to deliver a vehicle with issues.The vehicle was dirty and dusty on the inside and failed to perform a full detail. Not to mention when I arrived to pick up my vehicle, they couldnt locate the keys to my vehicle. They also couldn t locate the loaner vehicle paperwork to check the 2nd loaner car in! IT WAS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND JUST POOR SERVICE! I waited for my keys, ONLY to walk to my vehicle that was parked for weeks to only find the vehicle in the same condition as it was when I dropped it off on 06/7/2024. I have yet to driven the car that I have purchased on 06/1/2024! In addition, my first car note is due today and I have yet to receive the vehicle back from CARMAX! What kind of operation are they running? AGAIN, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS LOCATION. THE SALES AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS HORRENDOUS!

Worst location ever! Do not come here not even if you do the express checkout nothing was expressed. They somehow erased all the paperwork we signed for the express pickup so we had to do it all over again and they had no explanation as to what happened. On top of that The down payment wait line was extremely long even though there were five to six workers just sitting in the back laughing. After a while a manager stepped out and helped until the end. Fast forward I went to sell my previous car and again the finance department was horrible nobody wanted to do their jobs. They messed up the mans down payment in front of me to the point where he had to come back and get his car after they refunded his money. Then one of the workers decided to argue with me and basically tried to cut me off. When I was explaining to her that the credit union of Texas was still open. She swore up and down, She was not able to get anybody on the line but I called and got somebody on the line within three rings. They dont care about customer service here. I ended up selling the car and got more than they appraised me. Please go to the location in fort Worth!! Its a beautiful location and wonderful customer Ive bought 2 cars there and if I ever need another that will be the place. I will wait a few days to ship before I ever come back here!!!!

Last year I bought a fully loaded custom ordered low mileage 2021 Porsche Macan S for the price of a regular Macan price. Have of the options on the car was not listed. Purchased a car 2 months ago from this location, in cash, and now its in the service center needing mechanical work. They wont release it to me because it is unsafe to drive, although they sold it to me as so. And they cant get a loaner vehicle for me of the same as I purchased. BIG DISCRIMINATION AGAINST ONES INABILITY!! They will keep my car for 3 weeks because only one mechanic and 35 cars being serviced ahead of mine. That is 35 cars being serviced on folks! The salesman did not have the slightest interest in attending to us or pretending that he did not have time for us. We had made an appointment and were pre-qualified by his company. He decided to attend to other clients and left us waiting for 2 hours, gave us the keys and left! Maybe he thought we were idiots? Arent we important? It was our only alternative? Irving statium location is ABSOLUTE garbage, and Sly (Silvestre/Sylvester?) is the epitome of the terrible company culture! ***BE AWARE: The $20,000 - 2021 Black Nissan Sentra has a backseat seat belt that does NOT buckle and a front seat that can not be adjusted. Cigarette ashes everywhere, burn marks. They did NOT care or even make an effort to look at the seatbelt. I told three people. They put the car back on the lot! *** I had completed finance approval and went to do my test drive/purchase. Literally had every intention of leaving with my new car. Showed up 5min before my confirmed appointment waited over 20min sitting there, not even sure of what was happening. Sly finally came around with a quick handshake and asking for my license... then disappears. Waiting again... he brings the car, hands me the keys says go drive and disappears. I know NOTHING about the car, or even the area. I asked about other vehicles, and Sly doesnt know whats in stock, and he has the stupidity to tell me that milage on a car doesnt matter or determine the price of a car... I asked about the VW Passat, and he says repairs on those are expensive (why are we talking repairs?!?). I asked about the Kia Forte and he says I wont like it its too small; he hasnt even spent 5 consecutive min with me in an hour and half to know anything about what I would like. I asked for another year, Sentra, with the stock number (I found it online). AGAIN WAITING. He handed me the keys and walked off. Turns out the car he brought was NOT the model I requested and was out of my price range. When I finally find him, he says he is going to bring the right car...30min pass with no sign of him, and I am still holding the other car keys. I FINALLY SPOT HIM SITTING AT A DESK, so I walked over to him, handed him the keys, and he just says bye. Are you kidding me?! THREE HOURS WASTED. He had such a terrible attitude and spoke with such disinterest, I saw him speaking with others more engaged. The difference: they were men. Train better, or hire better. Code of conduct needs to be addressed. Useless employees just like the cars! Knowing that they are OK selling a car missing a safety feature like a seat belt tells me that this company is negligent and is only in business for volume of sales...thats a DANGEROUS business practice especially for a car company. These are lives you are playing with...physically and financially!

Its funny how much communication you receive when youre interested in purchasing a car. But when its time to get a refund on an 1100 shipping fee you get the run around. SMH Ive been calling for 3 days trying to speak with a manager about my refund and no one has returned my call. the vehicle I was interested in purchasing said it had power seating and when it arrived it did not. Okay let s start off with Saturday 11th. We went it at approximately 2:30p. We spoke with an Arabian young man that just started this year. He wasn t very good at his job. He couldn t answer any of our questions and he said yes to things is wasn t sure about so when it was time to continue his boss said NO. We didn t leave Carmax until 830p & they closed @9 WITHOUT A CAR. Due to the young man whom name I woke say because he was nice just a lier and didn t know much about sales nor the company he s working for. Lack of information for sure. Lack of communication with this place. MONEY HUNGRY. We looked at 4 different cars and wanted to see what the numbers was looking like to see what was the best deal. Only because the Salesman said they would have to run my credit each time but guess what they did . My credit was ran 12 times for 4 different vehicles. Yes my credit went down as well. The last car we did like and wanted but was so pissed due to the salesman lack of information and wasting our time we didn t not to buy with him. Monday 13th we decided to get the car. I did everything online and submitted all paperwork and documents that was needed. I had 3 different people call about 1 car and all my documents saying different stuff . But lucky we had 1 lady call and she knew her job and had a lot of information. But that wasn t the end. We thought since we finished everything and was ready we could pay do Our documents and just go get our car. NO WE GET TO CARMAX, they tired to put me back with the same salesman but I refused. We got a new salesman he had to verify a lot of stuff through his manager okay fine . We got to Carmax at 520 appointment was at 530 didn t mean until 8p almost 9p. They suppose to clean the car and give you a full tank. The car was already semi Clean since it came from a rental place. How we know because all the documentation from the rental place and their last Client was still in the car. NOT okay. I will not go there for service because not going to say who but a man in the service department said don t waste our time trying to get it fixed there. Takes forever to have nothing done and when they do work on stuff they over charge . To get service on your car he stated would take days or weeks. I would NOT recommend Carmax to anyone . GET A LOAN FROM YOUR BANk Or CREDIT UNION . If you decide to still go here be prepared to be here all day or Ben have to Come back another day. If you buy online just make sure it say express buy or when you get inside it will be a long process.

Pretty awful experience so far. We paid to have a car shipped in from out of state, because we trusted the description of the vehicle, only to discover it has a strong cigarette smell that wasn t disclosed. We would never have paid to have the car shipped if we had known it reeked of cigarette smoke. Then when we turned on the car to test drive the first thing we saw was a parking sensor error on the dashboard. Not sure how that made it through Carmax s inspection. We were assured these issues would be fixed when we pointed them out so we (maybe stupidly) bought the car. Two minutes after driving it off the lot the windshield weather stripping came off and started rattling around the roof. And THEN we discovered a crack in the windshield as well. We took it back and were assured they would fix all of this ASAP. We waited an hour and a half to get a loaner and left the car we just bought at the place we bought it. Got a call a few days later with a voicemail asking us what kind of work we needed on the car. How do you not know what work is needed after all that??? Then when we called back no one took our call AND we couldn t leave a voicemail because the inbox was full. When we finally got through to someone they again asked what we needed done to the car because apparently there is no communication between sales and service, and they told us they would maybe start working on the car in over a week. Terrible service, terrible experience, incompetence at every level, and at this point we don t trust anything that we re told. Pretty terrible from a place whose whole brand is easy process and great service that make the higher prices worth it. We re seriously considering just returning the car to get our money back and going somewhere else for a car unless something changes fast.

Severely dissatisfied with my experience with Carmax Irving. Their Service department (Jose/Vicky) are the only reason Ive given 2 stars. Ever since the second week of owning this horrendous vehicle, they have assisted me in every way possible, throughout the repair process. Keeping me updated on whether there was progress on the repair(s) or not. My vehicle has spent more time in a Carmax repair garage than my own drive way over the last year. Some issues 30+ days at a time!!!! (But I still had to make those payments though! *insert eye roll here* Vicky assisted me with alternate transportation and understanding my frustrations and anxiety with owning this cursed car. Reaching out to corporate was no assistance. I was told that the Store Manager would be reaching out to me, but he spoke to the sales associates instead of me. After all the talk of being able to be resolve this car issue, nothing. Besides another scam. Jose & Vicky, You guys are amazing. Dont ever stop doing what you do for your clients!! I truly appreciate everything you have done for me! I would not have been able to get through this last year of ownership with out you two! To charge $20,000+ for a used vehicle, that is in such crud conditions should be criminal. I can see from the reviews that I am not the only one with poor experiences. The whole point of buying a new-er car, is to get rid of headaches and have something reliable. Not create more headaches and shovel more money out of pocket to stay afloat. SMH. This Carmax is such a disappointment. We spent 4 hours here with 2 small kids & at the end of it, we were told we could not sell because of issues with our California registration. I m not sure how most car dealerships work, but I feel like the first thing they should have done was make sure we were able to trade our car in the first place. Not have us sit there for over 4 hours with a 1 & 3 year old. I had paid $2000 towards the down payment, which I reversed when I found out we were not able to trade our car in. I thought all was fine & that was it. Well, A WHOLE WEEK later, that $2000 came out of my account, which was obviously unexpected. I called Carmax immediately and was told they would send a check in 3-5 business days. It s been 6 days & I still have not received it. I have been on & off the phone and have been told it will be another 1-2 business days. I have a family and bills that need to be paid & they don t seem to care at all. I m not sure if this is how all Carmax locations work, but I would avoid this one, as they did not do their job in making sure we were able to trade our car in the first place. We traded in two cars and everything was transparent and simple. Big shout out to our sales rep Jermar as this was a seamless enjoyable experience. I experienced the WORST car buying experience at the Texas Stadium Carmax! In Irving Texas. If you are a person of COLOR .DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Even though people of color work there, they are not in charge They are racially profiling customers, putting you through unnecessary hoops. Creating a difficult and frustrating environment to deny you approval. I came into the location in sweats and a T shirt Many associates were sitting around, there were NO CUSTOMERS being helped. I waited for 30 minutes and witnessed this behavior of associates just sitting around. No one approached me or checked in with me. Poor management. Only when I was fed up and decided to leave did an associate stop me at the door. . My credit was ran and approved by the bank. After 2 days of this location asking for more than the bank required. After i printing my check stubs and direct deposit from my bank validating my pay. They STILL intrusively wanted more personal info. At that point I pulled the plug and called Carmax , told them my issue and how I felt I was being treated. Went to the Hulen Mall location and purchased my car. No judgement. I was simply approved based on my ability to pay. Nothing else . As soon as I walked into the Hulen Mall location I was greeted at the desk and while waiting I was asked by at least 2 associates if everything was ok. I felt like my business was wanted. I purchased my BMW at Hulen and it was a very nice experience. DONT GO TO TEXAS STADIUM IRVING LOCATION The lot was FULL of cars but they are playing Gods choosing based on other criteria to whom they sell cars to. Not by Carmax guidelines. Very sad.. Had a pretty seamless experience buying my first truck from CarMax in Irving, TX. From beginning to end, they communicated with me step by step and I was able to get in and out pretty quick. I did have my bank raise my limit and it must be swiped as credit. CarMaxs system wont run a credit for money down on the vehicle, even with your PNC debit card. They held the truck for me for a few days, and I came back with a $5k cashiers truck. Easy fix. Impressed by the process and the extended warranty so far.

Overall Experience - 2019 Ford Fusion Energi The quality check was completed in Irvine, California, before the transfer request. On January 19th, an order was placed to transfer this vehicle from Irvine, California, to Minnesota. Upon arrival, a post-shipping quality check was completed, and the car was delayed due to the discovered curb rash on all rims on the drivers side (left), and one rim required touchup paint. On February 1st, we traveled to the Carmax in Brooklyn Park. While going over the financing paperwork with a lady from the business office, a question was asked if this vehicle sale would be registered for the IRS Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. the representative didnt know and claimed this was the first time she had done a car like this one. After the paperwork was all signed, the vehicle was bought for us to see. The business representative was pushy with my wife and didnt wait for both parties to be present. The business relationship ended without anyone going over the vehicle with both of us present. After the business representative left, I came to the area to discover a good portion of the car was unclean and looked to be unwashed from dirt marks all around the vehicle to brake dust on the rims; this was reported to a passing an employee who relayed it to other staff. Two service employees took the car back, followed by the sales representative Khue to go over the car and inspect its quality. Khue offered to pay for lunch and said the car would be ready in 20 minutes. Approximately an hour or more later, the car returned (this was a third vehicle inspection that occurred, seconded at this location). On February 13th, a conversation took place with Kevin from the dealership regarding quality issues with the car for paint scuffs/damage under the front bumper, paint scuffed/paint transferred on the right side of the vehicle for approximately 4 (four feet), a loaner vehicle was setup for the car to be dropped off on February 17th. On February 19th, a call was received from Kevin informing us that the vehicle was ready for pickup after they did a better paint touchup so that the paint was a better match, buffed out the paint transfer on the right side of the car, and performed a wheel alignment that corrected some pretty bad toe misalignment. Buyer Beware, Stay Away From Carmax!

This review is for the service department at this location. After recently purchasing a car through a different CarMax branch, several maintenance issues came up. I was referred to this location and was really impressed from start to finish. Although the issues required a couple of repeat trips, all the employees working in the service department were amazing and really made the process smooth and easy to navigate. They were able to provide a rental car and address all of our concerns. I was told by the carmax sales support team over the phone that downpayments can be held to apply it to another vehicle. Our experience at Car Max was horrible. We went on January 13,2024 to purchase a vehicle since we had been in a car accident. Ryan the sales rep who helped seem to be way to pushy on us getting a vehicle that we didnt like so we left. On January 19,2024 we went once again to give it one more try this time we did get a vehicle we liked however the same sales rep seem to be rushing us because he was suppose to get off at 6:00pm. Once we started the process he kept rushing us to get the insurance so he recommend we did root however we paid 289 and the insurance was only lability. We were being rushed we didnt even know we had selected the wrong insurance so we werent able to drive the vehicle home that day. Monday comes around and we go back to CarMax to finish signing all the paper work and Ryan wasnt there so his coworker helped us. When it came down to us signing we had told him we didnt want the warranty protection they offer because the interests on the loan was way higher. The were processed to take it however he was making face and a than he left to talk to a group of this coworkers and they were talking about us LOUD to where we could heard them, One of them even scream. Not did we only feel like we were rushed and talked about they also gave us one of the key with a non working battery.

I initially purchased a 2020 Mazda 6 GTR online and had it delivered to my home. The day it was delivered I noticed that the push button start was flashing orange, but the info display screen indicated a low key fob battery. After changing the batteries later in the week, the issue was not resolved. I brought it in to Carmaxs Service Dept. and they provided me with a loaner while they worked on my Mazda. They reprogrammed the fobs and replaced the start button. It appeared to work but later that evening after I picked up my car the issue returned. I was very upset. I felt like the Mazda had electrical problems and decided to return it for another vehicle. This was my first experience with the 30-day return process. Sly Murillo was very professional even when I may have been rude because of my experience with the Mazda. He took the time to explain the return process and made recommendations based on what I was looking for (a car that worked). He also explained the financing and interest rates which helped me make a better decision as well as stay within my budget. My down payment from the Mazda went towards my new 2021 Toyota Corolla SE. I never owned a Toyota but always knew they had a history of excellent reliability. Interesting that a lot can happen in 30 days and that Carmax has this policy to allow you to return a car your unhappy with. Im keeping my Corolla as Im enjoying it more than I thought I would. Thank you, Mr. Sly, for your help and service as well as getting me into a car with a $125.00 less monthly payment. I must also thank Mr. Rob Pennell for his professionalism and hospitality in the Service Dept. Although the Mazda had a deeper electrical issue, I truly felt he did everything he could to fix the issue and shared this with the sales manager when I decided to return the car for something else. I gave 5 stars because of how my issues were handled, the loaner car, and the constant professionalism of Mr. Sly and Mr. Rob.

I was told by one person I would get reimbursed, I was told by another person they would change my bulbs as part of the year long warranty I purchased and now Sarah just told me that none of that is true and kept regurgitating the same rules of standard over and over again like a robot. I felt like I was treated like I did something wrong. I m being told three different things. And that s not the only stuff wrong with this car I feel taken advantage of and lied to. I m sad about that. I literally purchased the longest extended everything to make sure d be taken care of if anything happened. My first experience with Carmax. And I feel stuck and unhappy :(

At first everything went well until I got to YOUSUF he told me I didnt have a chance because I had a small negative equity saying basically I dont have a chance for a vehicle. So I turned around and spoke to JESSE the sales manager and turned the experience to a better one and see what options I had THANK YOU JESSE its all bout customer service cause Im in the same line of duty

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!! Worst experience Ive ever had trying to purchase a vehicle. Lost money paying for a transfer. Multiple broken promises for home delivery, and they acted like they didnt care at all about our business. Both the salesman and the Sales Manager at the location blew it off as no big deal and just said they would cancel the deal out, made no effort AT ALL to correct an error on THEIR part spelling a middle name incorrectly. The error caused us to have to resubmit our credit application and submit several more documents and could not deliver the vehicle on the date promised or even the next day. We submitted everything requested within minutes, even additional documents never brought up, and having to resubmit the same document multiple times in a row for no apparent reason. We were not trading in a vehicle because it was going to one of our kids for a trip across the state, thus the urgency of the promised delivery date. We will never look at a vehicle through them again. Out of 6-8 different people we dealt with, only 1 person was friendly and helpful, but even he was casual about dismissing us when we were upset about the delivery being postponed. We cancelled the deal, ate the delivery fee and a month of insurance... Update 10.24.23 Reached out to their email from response on 10.16.23 to my review...still have not received a response and STILL NO REFUND as promised on 10/13/2023 by 3 different people.

Traded in my car which took about 2 hours to complete, and I got the exact amount I was quoted on the website. Probably the best place to trade in your car in Irving, as most dealers will offer about $2K less that what Carmax will offer. I bought my car from another dealer bc Carmax cars are over priced and non negotiable, but trading in a car is pretty nice.

I was incredibly impressed with the Carmax staff and how they moved me through the car selling process. Obviously they do this hundreds of times a day and it shows. I brought all the documentation i needed and in turn they processed it all quickly. In my case, the amount that was offered online to buy my car was the exact amount, down to the penny, that the gave me once there in person. I was absolutely certain they were going to low-ball me and they did not. i couldnt be happier with how the day went. The back office staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

I came in looking to purchase my first vehicle after years of dealing with car issues with cash cars. I picked out Honda Civic and Ahmed the Sales Rep was great. The issue arose after I left with the vehicle. The vehicle had damage to the front bumper and after further inspection, the undercarriage of the vehicle was torn up and had metal and plastic pieces hanging down scraping as the car drove. I brought it to their attention and when I went back up there to exchange the vehicle, the rep in servicing that I spoke to Zack, insinuated that I caused the damage myself and told me I would have to talk to the big manager Alex. I was furious at this point but gave them another shot to make it right. I picked out another Civic but this one was a bit more expensive as it was a sport hatchback. They pulled the car up and I took a video of the vehicle from all sides so that I did not run into the same issue and get accused of causing any damage. Before I even got off of the lot with the civic sport, there was a popping sound coming from the front left tire area. I immediately called my sales rep and send him videos and pictures of the damaged area around the front left tire. Now I have to go back up there this weekend to get a different vehicle. They gave me some speel of how their vehicles go through a 125-point inspection. They said it was an anomaly that both vehicles made it through their total of 250 points of inspection.. The Carmax employee that pulled the second Civic up for me to get in the car would have noticed this damage.. I feel as if they were trying to get rid of damaged goods at the buyers expense. I am going back up there to get a 3rd vehicle, but now am considering just returning the vehicle and getting a vehicle elsewhere after this experience. I am not one to ever leave negative reviews but mind you I paid almost $30K for something and its already damaged, was accused of causing the damage myself, and then was given a second car that was also damaged. Unfortunately, this story isnt yet over as I still have to return the second vehicle. We will see what kind of pushback I get come tomorrow. UPDATE: I finally was able to get into a vehicle that I liked (after being transferred to two different CarMax locations) and thought the story was over. Well, again I was mistaken. A few days go by and I received a check from carmax for the sum of what my down payment was. I thought carmax was reimbursing me for all of the trouble I went through. I put the check in my bank account and then went to go pick up my old vehicle that I left parked at carmax when purchasing the new one. I get there and my car had been towed. I was told that I was able to leave my car there for 30 days after purchasing, and at this point my old vehicle had been parked at carmax for maybe 2 weeks. I thought to myself, at least they reimbursed my down payment and that will cover getting my car out of the tow yard . I was wrong again.. it took me a week and a half of calling carmax every single day just to find out where my old vehicle was towed to but no one could tell me. Turns out the towing yard is only 2 miles down the street from the carmax it was towed from. But hey at least I was refunded my $2K down payment.. Turns out, they mailed me the check by MISTAKE. So instead of being refunded $2K & getting my old vehicle back, I was given nothing and they towed my car which is valued around$4.5K and I now can t get back due to title issues. I spoke with a number of managers to try and resolve the situation and get my old vehicle and they told me there was nothing they could do. This is blasphemous as they are partnered with the towing yard and could easily release my vehicle if the chose to do so. Carmax has done nothing to make up for my terrible first time car buying experience, in any way shape or form. Even after reaching out to the carmax email provided in response to my initial review. UNREAL and feels illegal if you ask me

I have bought three cars from carmax and NEVER had the amount of issues I had with my latest purchase. There were obvious cosmetic issues with the vehicle and an AC issue that were not presented online when I reserved the vehicle, ALL of which were dismissed. I brought the issues up before I left with the car only to be blow off by the salesman. The splash guard on my car came off the moment I got onto the highway to take it home, and it wrapped around my axle. Luckily, it did not cause a wreck. This led to a slew of bumper and grill issues, becoming a 4 month long ordeal. I had to push and fight for them to even take a second look at the AC. It took 4 different service employees to finally acknowledge that there were AC issues. After they finally agreed that it, in fact, blows hot air like the heater was on, they were unable to diagnose the issue, just replaced basically the whole thing. On top of that, they threw away my apartments garage remote away. Who does that? Yeah, they are going to reimburse it, but it takes an entire month to receive reimbursement checks from them if they dont get lost in the mail along the way. I will never recommend carmax to anyone again. Dont waste your time. My vehicle spent 4 months in and out of shops to fix COSMETIC issues and another week for the AC. All of these issues, in my opinion, should have been addressed before the vehicle was even listed. Its Utterly ridiculous. Im livid Im having to foot the bill for the remote. Yes its my bad for leaving it but I didnt have a chance to drop the car off until about an hour before they closed and called as soon as they opened about the clicker and it was still thrown away.

We just took our car in for a quote for Carmax to buy it. They offered us $15,000 less than what every site says the car is worth, siting that the odometer had been tampered with. That was shocking to us as we are only the second owner and bought it from Park Place, a reputable dealer in Dallas. We certainly never did anything with the odometer ourselves (I wouldnt know how to). As soon as I got home, I ran a carfax report and everything came out clean - including the odometer. Just our one story about this company, but I will never go again or recommend to anyone else.

My sales rep Bob was great this is the only reason they are getting 2 stars. I was given misinformation several times. The first red flag was that a car took 4 days to ship 28 miles. The manager didnt want to help and it was obvious. When we drove off the lot before we could even get home the car was overheating.
