* Please Read* I have worked for a law firm myself and seen many attorneys in the court room in family law cases. But not one! Not one! compares to Matthew Jones. Hes is the Best I have ever seen! I was Extremely impressed with Matthew Jones! A true cowboy! ( If we were in the Western days) Not because he won my case. However,He is the best I have ever seen in my life in a court room. He is extremely smart. Hes is quick and fast in the court room. With context here. He knows what he is talking about when it comes to family law in the court room. He knew all the facts and laws about my case. I am Father who gain custody. Please have faith in this law firm despite the negative reviews. Lawyers are not cheap. They work hard like this law firm does. They actually work your case. Theres no funny business like other law firms. Please talk to this law firm and have all your concerns laid out and be straight forward with them. They will guide you through a tunnel of darkness with a light. My case was extremely complex. Fired her assistant David in the middle of court he showed up late and sweaty and didn t know anything about my case. She took my money then requested off my case after doing nothing at all lied to my judge and said I wasn t honest about my case so she wanted to be removed but I was very honest about my case. Long story short I got what I wanted from the courts by myself and this lady was no help worse law firm in Dallas Texas

Worst experience ever. They were rude, tried to gaslight me, didnt tell me anything they were doing on my case, I asked questions and they couldnt just give me answers to my questions. They made answers in my name without telling me what was on it. They also stole money from me. Dont go with them trust me youll have wasted time and you wont get your money back unless you call the cops. I was in a car crash and they scammed me out of money.

This is the best Law firm I delt with!! I was going through a divorce from my wife I had my boys and this law firm was patient, very professional, extremely experienced, dedicated,knowledgeable and courteous!!! They drove from Richardson to Fort Worth at least once or twice a month because the judge kept resetting my dates(thinking the mom was coming) every lawyer who she sent was a shining example of professionalism and experience (if she didn t come herself), they saw my case through to the end and was worth every single penny!!!!!!!! I can never thank them enough!

Very disappointed in the service. We did everything we were supposed to do, provided everything we were asked. We were screwed out of retroactive pay because the proper documentation was not filed. It s disheartening that for 2 years we received no financial support sought legal counsel and they failed us. Our case was finished from the docket initially. I would not recommend this law firm. We can only hope that we find another attorney that can help with filing a retro active modification because it s only fair.

As my case has not initially started, what I can say about this law firm is they are extremely understanding, very responsive, and so helpful. I am happy I chose to work with this office, and am hopeful for the outcome. Update: Ended up switching offices due to the outcome of an immediate hearing. Wondering now if I should have as the new attorney turned out to be really shady ($$ wise) and horribly non-responsive. Should have stuck it out I believe. Lesson learned.

I called them because I was in fear of my child being taken by my exs family members while she is in hospice. The woman I spoke with did not help. She said I should not be preemptive and that i should be reactive. She said I was over reacting and should let whatever is going to happen happen and then retain a lawyer. Then told me I needed to save money to get my kids back after they are gone. It was a very disheartening conversation that i wish i recorded. Not a good experience at all. To all the fathers that need to fight, do not call here. Do not expect this law firm to take you seriously. It has 2 stars because for her to tell me Im too broke to have my kids it was free. Real review! Working with this firm was the worst experience ever and Ive worked with several attorneys. Their communication is awful and inconsistent. It was difficult to get a hold of anyone and even though I paid thousands of dollars, I only actually talked to a person twice. They heavily use text messages, which is unprofessional in my opinion. It took months to finalize my case and I came really close to reporting them to the state bar. I have low confidence on the outcome of my case and will probably need to hire someone else once I recoup the money I spent. Avoid this firm at all cost!

My uncontested divorce was filed on September 08,2020 and it requires that the petition is on file for 61 days so I am still waiting for those 61 days to pass then they will tell me what is next and once they do I will come back and update this. Mrs. Gauthier handled and won my custody case that lasted two years with empathy, professionalism and knowledge of my situation as well as family law. Although I had to go to trial with another attorney due to her being under the weather, her colleague was just as great! She and her staff were very responsive to phone calls and emails and kept me up to date on any and all changes. The previous paralegal was very negative and honestly discouraging however the new paralegal that took her place was very kind, friendly and positive. Started divorce process in May 2019. Was supposed to be a 90 day process. It has been 8 months and I am still working towards this. This attorney does not return calls or emails, nor does she communicate in any way after initial consultation. She somehow forgot about me for 3 months and because I thought she was working on my case I didn t know until her paralegal called me to inform me they were beginning the process. Even then, it has still taken 5 months instead of 3. DO NOT USE! Find someone who will do what they say they will do and not forget about you after taking your money!

I saw the mixed reviews, mostly good but some bad. My husband and I went in for a consultation and I (the wife) ended up arguing with the lawyer. We showed up 20mins early as asked and then we were directed to a conference room. The office is small and we were pretty much looking at Ms.Gauthier the entire time. So we were asked to fill out paperwork, ok np, done. Still no Ms.Gauthier. ok I go to the restroom and come back, still no Ms. Gauthier, my husband goes to the restroom and comes back...STILL no Ms. Gauthier! She hasnt even acknowledged us but we are looking right at her; so distasteful. My husband decides to walk out and the nerve of this woman; her first words to us ALL DAY are Oh what Yall dont have no Money! Wait what! We came to hire you. She literally started shouting at me and I told her you have ignored us from the time we got here. She claimed she was on her way in when my husband went to the bathroom. I told her I was there and waiting; she told me I was NOT the client! I responded we are together, I am his wife and I am listed on the paperwork as well and I was to be respected just as much. Ms Gauthier told me its NOT about respect. But to tell me I dont have money! This entire law office is a disater waiting to happen. 1st impressions are Everything... I wouldnt want her showing up in court for us AT ALL Ive heard of casual Friday but I dont care Friday no thanks. Im not here to bash but relay an honest review which is my opinion of what I encountered today while at her office. I expect some long rebuttal which she will make this incident my fault as with any other negative review she has received. It has been over a year since I hired Avia to handle my divorce. Initially, I was not going to write a review, but now that my divorce is all over, I decided that I wanted to revisit this. One of my biggest issues was the fact that she almost made me lose custody of my children! In addition, she never completed my divorce decree, rarely answered calls or emails herself, and she kept pushing me off on an incompetent paralegal who couldn t properly calculate my child support, meet deadlines, or answer simple questions about my case. Our initial encounter was great. She was prompt, professional, and her fees were reasonable. My petition for divorce was filed, and I patiently waited the 60-day period. During that time, I had not received child support from my ex-husband. I called and spoke with Felicia, her paralegal, and I was advised to file for temporary relief. When we went to court for this issue, Avia was about an hour late. Fortunately, the judge called in sick that day, so we were not able to see her anyway. As a result, we rescheduled for a later date. After the first experience, my ex-husband decided he would rather begin providing consistent support than to pay his attorney for another court appearance. I advised Felicia of this and requested that they cancel the upcoming court hearing. A couple of weeks passed and I received a call from my ex-husband stating that I was supposed to be at court because my attorney never canceled. He informed me that he and his attorney were given the option to be awarded full custody due to my failure to appear, but he decided against it. I immediately contacted Avia, furious at the thought of losing my children by default! I was told that it was their oversight and that Felicia called in sick and forgot to cancel my hearing. So she threw her employee under the bus when the fault was actually due to her failing to follow up with her paralegal! My ex and I were finally able to come to an agreement on our own. At that point, Avia and I corresponded via email and discussed in great detail what all needed to transpire and the fees involved. I paid all the fees, and afterwards, spoke with Felicia, who gave me a date that she would have my decree completed. When that deadline passed without any communication from either of them, I contacted Felicia for an update. I was told that Avia was having a difficult time with the portion of my decree dealing with retirement, and that there would be an additional fee for a QDRO order. I reached out to Avia several times to ask for clarification about the invoice that I had just paid since, to my understanding, that fee was to cover the QDRO. It was at that point that things went downhill fast! I was told that I had no right to question her about her fees, and that I was looking for a discount because I was referred to her by my sister. At no point did I ever ask for a discount and I had swiftly paid any invoice that was sent to me without question. However, the first time I had a question about her fee, it was a major problem that unfortunately we were not able to rectify. We agreed that she was not helping me, and I requested a refund of my last payment. She never gave my money back for the work she did not do since she never did produce a divorce decree. Money, energy and time totally wasted!
