The food here is always amazing and its one of my familys favorite restaurants, but the last time I went (Sunday 9/29 lunch, 6 adults + my baby) our server was... not good at her job. For our first round of orders she took everyones order except mine?? We were all seated and the rest of my family ordered and when it was my turn, the server just... left the table. So I had to wait for her to get back like 8 min later so I could order for me and my baby. Then when our food came out there were multiple things wrong with it! Tamago instead of masago. Sushi instead of sashimi. Like I dont expect the server or staff to be fluent in Japanese but cmon!! We were doing all you can eat and didnt want to waste food so we ate it anyway, but we let the server know her mistake and she seemed a little apologetic. The next round we were like NO RICE in English lmao. Also I understand that its easier for the chef to put everyones sushi on a big plate and have everyone share, but the table is long and my family has short arms so I wouldve much preferred getting our orders split appropriately like yall have done in the past.

The food was delicious, my Blue Hawaiian was so strong that I could not drink it. The worst part of this experience was the service, not one employee from the minute we walked in until I talked to the host on the way out smiled. I thought, OK it s under new ownership. The new owners must be super tough, change is tough so no one I s happy. It happens when there s change, that s not the case here they just don t like their job . You could feel the vibe through the place. It is a shame, the vibe will stop us from returning.

We came here for lunch today and went with the all you can eat sushi and I was pleasantly surprised! Our booth wasn t the cleanest I ll be honest but our waitress was so nice and attentive, food came out fast and delicious and our toddler had a great time looking at all the fun lights and fish tanks. For $20 per person and all the menu options they give you it s so worth it, the only thing I would change is making the booth feel a little more clean.

We didnt get to try it out because we were never seated. We went in and four employees were at the front, not one of them welcomed us or even acknowledged we were there. One walked outside not sure for what purpose but walked back in once we left. The other young ladies never said anything to us one said she was going g to the bathroom (not restroom)as if to take a bath I guess. Needless to say we left without being seated or acknowledged. And it smelled like someone used the restroom outside on the Westside of the entrance.

Hibachi chef was clearly brand new. He over cooked everything from the shrimp to the chicken. couldnt eat anything off the grill top The fried rice was served crunchy. And the fried shrimp tempura was served with lettuce in it. We had to stop at Wendys just so we could eat dinner after spending over 100 dollars. The waitress was hovering over me when I was signing the bill. We will not be back. So gross.

We came in the middle of the day. It was pretty dead, but the service was still great. We were a party of two, both got all you can eat. I drove from Galveston and thought I might regret the gas expenditure, but honestly, it was so worth it. I was so full I wanted to take a nap when I got out of there, for $30+tip for each of us. We tipped well and still only paid ~85 for amazing and fresh sushi. Thanks for a great time!

Weve been coming to this establishment ever since theyve first opened! Its been incredible my husband and I have gone here dozens of times!!! We recently had dinner here for our 13th year anniversary and everyone which is: Sonny, Amelia, Oscar and Joseph are highly recommended to see they treat our family of 6 like their family and we look forward to coming here and telling everyone to do so!! This was our first time here since it s changed from Asian City. It was busy for a Sunday evening. We weren t going to do the all you can eat. The hostess asked if we were doing the all you can eat or hibachi. We said neither just ordering off the menu. She brought us to a table where you would have larger parties. Lots of screaming kids and you could hear the hibachi tables right behind us. The waitstaff was excellent. The appetizer wasn t at all like it was described on the menu. My sashimi was good. My husband loved his roll. The ambiance was horrible. Loud! We won t be returning.

On my day off I decided to try a new restaurant just down the street from my place called Umiya Sushi. This place is Great not only is it Sushi but, the also have 8 Hibachi tables. When I got there it was all you can eat Lunch menu for $19.95 from 11-3:30. I ordered The Dragon Roll, The California Roll, The Avocado/Mango Roll, The Eel Roll, an order of Shrimp fried rice and a fried egg Roll. Every bit of the Sushi was Delicious. The rice was Hot n Flavorful with Good size shrimps. The egg Roll was Hot n Crispy. All top notch along with the service which the server was Friendly & Courteous. When I finished my meal Happy hour was just starting so, I chose to order a frozen house Margarita. Out of everything Great of this place the Margarita was the only disappointing thing. It tasted bitter but, kinda like theyre machine shaves the ice and they pour tequila on top kinda like a snowcone. Such a Great place and I highly recommend it.

I like the koi fish pond, when you walk in you get to look at the fish and plants. The all you can eat and hibachi choices are fine. Service was ok, nothing against our waiter but it could be better. When I got my sashimi it didn t look that fresh or taste very fresh. Was disappointed in that, also the sushi was below average. They also put avocado in all the sushi, probably to fill you up faster.. The best part was when we left seeing the koi fish again. Would rate a solid atmosphere but the food and foods freshness was mediocre.

Great food & beautifully decorated. The service was a bit slow but understandable as they are short-staffed. There are lots of options for the whole family/group in the all-you-can-eat dining experience. We recommend keeping a menu and ordering a few things first and then ordering additional items as you need since you are charged for items you take home (by weight so not bad). I like that they are encouraging less food waste - just be mindful of that when you re ordering.

The food is prepared FANTASTIC!!! I ll upload pics next time, I went again yesterday but I didn t think to take pics. Was too busy EATING. DELICIOUS!! I gave an overall 4 because and this may seem odd, but I assure you, when there is nothing that you can drink there that kind of puts it downer on things. Maybe people in Houston are used to the city water being so horrible tasting but I m used to filtered water as I grew up in Florida with well that was very pure and clean . The water, when I ordered the iced tea, and drank it .oh my LORD!!! HORRIBLE!!! What an absolutely nasty after-taste. It s like that, I ve found, with ALL the drinks, as they mix them with SINK water. It really wouldn t cost them much to get a water filter. I even heard the table next to me complaining about it as well and two times ago when I came the same thing I heard people at the table beside me and we all discussed it. If there s one thing that can RUIN a good meal, it s taking a drink to wash things down, and experiencing that NASTY after- taste. Sink water -that s why the 4 not 5 star. Still- love the people preparing the food there.

A wonderful place for lunch. This is a chain that I first came across in Corpus Christi. Their all-you-can-eat sushi is a great deal. They make it fresh as you order it. They have many standard favorites and a good bit of different choices too. This is a great place to get an introduction to sushi of you have never had it. The shimp sumi dumplings are great steamed. If you like raw fish their pepper tuna is great. Their cooked fish selections are good too. Im a big fan of the red snapper roll. Service is quick and friendly. The decorations deserve a special mention, this place is fun and colorful. The tempura jalapeño is unique take on a jalapeño popper. Also, it may be weird but Im a big fan of the avocado and peanut roll. It reminds me of a snickers bar.

Have been coming to this restaurant for many years now since it was Asian City. Yesterday we were told the Hibachi wait was going to be 30 min. 40 minutes went by then they told us another 30 minutes. Host explained that they had me wait 30 min in case the reservations did not show they would be able to sit my family of 4 (two small hungry children) since reservations did show it was going to be another 30 minutes. Food and service for the most part here has been good but their reservation and walk in scheduling should be looked into.

Used to go here for lunch because it s affordable!! Last week, I went for dinner buffet for first time and I m telling yall. IT IS WORTH IT! As an asian lady, I was born to eat fish RAW FISH! It s Complicated We had hibachi & sushi. Nobody told us about any specials and since we were new we missed out on good deals we should ve known about. Server was attentive but a bit incompetent. Our kids loved their food, but we thought the spice or sauce on the meats was a bit off-putting. The rainbow roll salmon, whitefish were both off-color & taste but still nice enough to eat. The setting is very nice, but we came for quality food, hoping this place would deliver - it did not. Cost-wise a good bit higher than Shogun - no good reason for that based on the experience.

We go here quite often, the food is really good. The main issue we have is the lack of attentiveness of the servers. Our drinks often sit empty on the table and no one comes to refill. Also, the servers tend to forget to input your entire order, in spite of them using a tablet at the table, so more often than not, we do not get everything we order. So, since they arent very attentive, we cant remind them to get what is missing. I understand that it is an all you can eat and that you can order as much or as many times as you would like, but to be sitting there for 15-20 minutes with nothing is really not appropriate.

I had the a la carte sushi options when I visited. The rolls I ordered were phenomenally prepared and served. I recommend the nobu roll or the Amazing Tuna Roll. The Surf and Turf roll is another great option as well.

I didnt have high hopes for this place being an all you can eat place but wow! We easily ate $30 worth of sushi, appetizers, and dessert. You can just keep ordering and they bring it out quickly. And its not just little sushi rolls. Theres a whole list of specialty rolls to choose from. The spicy edamome was great. You can build your own hibachi. The menu was extensive. Just make sure you eat everything you order because you have to pay extra for things youve ordered but dont eat. Our waitress was on top of it and was at our table about every 5 minutes. Will definitely be back.

Umiya Restaurant has outstanding customer service, everything I tried was delicious. The waitress was very informative for this being my first time here. I will be back with more guest. I went to this establishment this past weekend with my brothers to have lunch. We are big fans of sushi and hibachi so we thought we would give it a try. This restaurant was nice inside and we were seated in less than 5 minutes. The staff in the front were very polite and professional. Now the temperature outside in Houston is nearly at 90 degrees and the inside felt like it was close to 80. I m not sure if the AC was working, but they should definitely get that checked out. Now the food was cooked really well, but unfortunately the chef that cooked for us loves to drench his food in soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. Everything was either too salty or too sweet and we really couldn t enjoy the food. The only other issue I had was that there was only one server for three tables. It made asking for refills or anything else a challenge and it also made me feel bad for the little lady that was rushing every where trying to help everybody. The sushi was nice and if I ever decide to come back I will probably just stick to the sushi portion. I hope this restaurant can fix the small problems and make their establishment a great one like I know they can.

Bruh, y all gyatt to try this place. I can t let gang know I f with this restaurant, but only in Ohio can you find such a great deal on a sushi buffet. From the moment you walk in, that ambiance makes you feel like a real sigma. Decor is nice frfr. The menu has mad aura. You ll lose your mewing streak when you find out just how much you can order. This place is in it s great arc, it s literally bestmaxxing. My server was Joseph. He was a great server. I just got back from awesome service land and everyone knew him. I had four rolls myself, but I fanum taxed my wife s sashimi because it looked so good. The plates are so nicely decorated that they mog similar plates I ve had at other beta sushi restaurants. Their Paradise roll has a positive canthal tilt. By the time I finished my last piece, I was just like their tempura shrimp roll; cooked. I m edging to try more rolls. I ll definitely be back like OG Fortnite.

I came with my wife for the first time Friday night with low expectations of a place with unlimited sushi. We were both surprised at how delicious all of our courses were. Our kids (4 and almost 8) are huge seafood and sushi lovers, so we knew we had to bring them back. We came today, and the kids enjoyed everything. They ate so much, and our daughter said its a 10/10. Dietary restrictions: My wife is restrictive on foods she can eat. Our waitress Friday was overly kind with helping her find ways to adapt the food to her diet. When we came back today, she knew how to order and our waiter was friendly to accommodate her changes too. Kid-friendliness: Our kids love every aspect, from the fish outside to the lights on the ceiling and the inside aquarium. They also ate until their stomachs couldnt hold any more.

This place is amazing! As an Asian City regular since i was a kid i was sad about the change but now i see it was much needed! The people are so kind, service is quick, and the food is great!
