The venue is good in a great location. The sound is better if youre not in the first few rows. I give 2 stars because at a recent Marshall Crenshaw show they turned the house lights when he left the stage with the crowd cheering so he didnt perform his encore. That was terrible. Also, with a very small crowd they ran out of beer. I guess they dont do many rock type shows.

This place is great. I volunteered here and got to see 2 free shows so far. The quality is definitely outstanding, especially for the buildings age and the reliance on volunteers. If youre thinking of buying some tickets, you definitely should. The performers are amazing, witty, and fun to watch. Although i acknowledge that every performance probably isnt as good as what I watched, while there, I worked with an older lady whos worked three shows, and she said all of them were equally good. Now I will say that because they do rely more heavily on volunteers, although there is a number of professional staff, theres gonna be delays, last minute changes and so on. If you do decide to go, just keep that in mind and youll have a great time!

Great events take place here. Safe place to take a walk around the block with benches to seat under the shade of nice trees and who knows, you might even get lucky enough to listen to a free song or two by my buddies, Zach and the Anarchist. Also, there are very clean restrooms on the lower floor of the East side of the building which are equipped with diaper changing stations.

Jewel of historic Mckinney downtown. A beautiful building with rich history, and restored with much love and attention to make it a sought after event spot for the community as well as visitors from far and wide. Weddings, birthdays, concerts, shows, classes, book signings etc etc etc, you name it , and they will have the most perfect spot in the building to host your event. Definitely check them out for your next event!

We personally went into the box office to consider purchasing two tickets to see Pam Tillis. There first was a sign instructing the public to knock if a light was on. We were met with a middle aged female who seemed to be put out by our desire to buy tickets. By her actions implying that she doesnt have time for us we ultimately decided against it. After asking the price my wife and I needed a few seconds to decide to by them or not because they were priced pretty high. But since the employee was so impatient we just left the room. To avoid this from happening in the future, please consider when it seems impossible to meet customers personally to make a sale either post a sign stating when the employee will be back or make your ticket product available online. This incident upset my wife and I all day long. Not that it would matter to anyone else but me. Signed (decide if you want to be in ticket sales or not)

I was there for a Halloween theater organ performance October 2019 by Jim Pitts who played the Phantom of the Opera accompaniment to the silent film. This organ was rebuilt by Rick Mathews several years ago as the North Texas Chapter of the ATOSs piped Wurlitzer theatre organ. Paul Concilio III is pictured at the organ console as he joined the group but conjoined it with his non-profit organization in McGregor, TX called the Texas Museum of Theatre & Broadcast. Although the organ remains there, it is now established with the non profit since the north Texas ATOS members decided to hand him the reigns.

This was my 1st time visiting MPAC. I just happened to run across the performance for the McKinney Dance Bands Count Meets Duke, big band music. I was searching for live music when I found it on the internet. I m disappointed that they don t advertise more, not even any signage outside the building of what is playing inside. So, I was very glad I found out cuz I loved it!! I love the big band era & to hear it played live was an absolute treat. The inside of the building is definitely dated, which I think added even more to this performance. I found it an extra treat that they made a little room for anyone that wanted to get up & dance along. It was great!! The acoustics were better than I expected & each instrument solo was excellent! It was very nice to hear the beautiful piano, sax, trumpet, bass, clarinet, & all the additional pieces that really add to the orchestra feel. There were 2 singers they would bring on for certain songs & they were adorable. It was nice to be able to sense the camaraderie between the band players too. Parking: This has definitely become the worst part of downtown McKinney these days. This was on a Friday evening & there was absolutely ZERO parking on any street. Thankfully the parking garage on Davies is free & has more parking. But plan ahead to add walk time since you won t be able to park near the attraction. Overall it was a positive experience & I highly recommend attending a performance here. I m looking forward to this band returning in November to play Glen Miller music. This was an overall feel good crowd.

We sat upstairs for the puppet / symphony show and they completely neglected the audience who sat on the second level. The puppets frequently went into the cries but only on the first level. At which time, our kids could not see anything and felt upset. They also chose kids from the audience to dance and never gave a chance to any of the numerous kids on the second level. Very dissatisfying and felt sorry for our and the rest of the kids upstairs.

Now we are working with Andrew Jones and he is also very helpful and intuitive with our conversations to better our local business. We talked about what we are thinking to do for the community, and his feedback was insightful and very promising. We love owning a local business here, and how the city s staff goes the extra mile.
