If you like sushi, I do not recommend. Its over priced and terrible. Dont let these pretty pictures fool you. Fortunantly, we will never go back. BUT we will make fun of anybody that goes there. So glad we did not invite our friends to this dumpster party. I have never had worse sushi before in my life.

The place isnt maintained very well. The food was meh. Prices were not great. I wouldnt bother coming back. Prices were like that of a nice sushi place but quality of the food was that of a budget place. Water damaged and moldy ceiling tiles.

The sushi was ok. Appetizers were good. But the fried rice showed their hand. No sesame oil, no chili oil, no oyster sauce - just butter, rice, and low grade beef. I can go home and do some culinary surgery but they re the ones that own a restaurant. Step it up guys. This was pathetic.

Just walked in at 938pm. Was welcomed by the guy behind the sushi bar. Sat down ordered water . Got the water and waited 10 minutes no there contact was made. And we were one of two tables . We got up and left. Do not recommend.

When someone asks me what my favorite restaurant is, I ALWAYS say Wazabi. This place has never ever let me down. I like to go during the week and sit at the bar, have a drink and yap with Johnny and Michelle. They re hands down the nicest people ever and are so nice to talk to. Their presentation is beautiful, the drinks are delicious, and the sushi Is always the best I ve ever had. I love their grasshopper roll. (It s huge!) I do wish they would have drink specials or happy hour for us early goers, but I love coming here so much I don t mind that they don t.

Best sushi in the world! They can make any roll you want! WOW! Every other sushi place in Houston will sell you overpriced fish and small portions. Wazabi has big portions and fairly priced food. Everything on the menu is delicious!!

The sushi was good but very limited options in specialty rolls, especially if you have a shellfish allergy. The rice was overcooked/sauced but my California rolls were very good. The reason for two stars is due to the service. From the moment I walked in; the waitress/host with the short black hair already gave me the vibes that she didn t want anything to do with me. I already knew from that moment there would have been an issue. I ordered a drink, never got it, and it was posted on my bill. I didn t look closely enough to see it there until after I paid with my credit card. I told her I was charged and didn t get my drink, she acted surprised (maybe she really was, I m not sure) and came back with cash to make up the cost of the drink. At that point I was annoyed and left. The other woman working there (Friday night) was extremely kind and accommodating, but the interaction with the lady with short black hair was enough to make me not want to go back. I took an Uber back home and told the driver what happened and I started to tear up. It may seem like such a minor issue that the drink didn t come and that they gave me cash instead of putting it back on my card but I had an extremely long week at work and really wanted to try this place to end on a good note, but feeling discriminated because of how I look does not feel good. I didn t leave a tip and instead tipped the Uber driver $20 for her kindness she showed me. I didn t even take the leftovers home because I was too upset at how I was treated to even want to eat the food again.

I am not sure what the hype is. Came here because all of the high reviews. Came in and the staff were welcoming. Honestly, the food we ordered was mediocre to just nasty. I love sushi and have never not finished my plate. The crab rangoon tastes like you biting into pure cream cheese barely any crab meat and bland.The Maui tacos are literally a piece of frozen fried fish (reminded me of Gorton s frozen fish filet) with a tortilla and bagged salad(the premade salad in bag). The tigers eye roll had a disgusting batter they were drop fried in and that batter tasted absolutely disgusting, ruined the roll. The caterpillar roll had a nice presentation but the rolls had a strong fishy taste and was watery. Maybe we are spoiled from all the sushi bars we have been to. I will give them 3 stars because the staff is nice and the drinks are good. If you are an avid sushi eater you might be disappointed with the food. We did not try the miso soup because the waitress forgot we ordered them as appetizers. Not sure if we just came on a bad night.

I loved both of my experiences there. And my young adult kids love it too. They really made us comfortable right away and very personable. Owners are awesome and oh yeah, the food was great! Even the presentation is fun. The kids even sang karaoke. They were a hard no at first and after having such a good time, they couldn t deny it. I will be back as long as I live in Houston!

Husband and I came to get some sushi. We were told to sit down anywhere by a passing waitress. We sat down and nobody ever came to hand us a menu or anything. A few minutes later, another couple came in after us and they proceeded to begin serving them before us. I found this to be super rude so I got up and left. Also the place has super weird vibes, its giving 80s bar scene. Idk where the good reviews are coming from.

Ok, so this was my first time to a sushi bar. I had a fantastic time!! The Sushi chef (idk if thats what theyre called) had a fantastic personality. He had us rolling the whole time we were there. I tried it because this place got good reviews. However, the food was not good and took about half an hour to get. There was only 5 or 6 people there and just as many workers. The place was dirty and it didnt help that this lady had rested her dirty feet in flip flops on the sushi bar to show someone something. The waiters and staff said nothing to her. Please do yourselves a favor and find a more sanitary establishment.

I dont have photos because I arrived almost at closing, even so the girl who served us was very kind to allow us to enter and very kindly warn us that if we could order in 15 minutes because the kitchen would close for the day with our order, we ordered a oh dear! (Rolls with meat, shrimp, zucchini, melon and jalapenos) a delight....rice and the rest of the orders...everything...everything...delicious...super first class service!!! ! Been coming here for years since before they were at this location. Lately service is terrible. Second time I have left due to bad service now, and I am not sure if I will be returning. The server never gave me a menu. She didn t check on me or ask if I wanted to order and started to take care of the people next to me who came in after me. I sat their patiently waiting for a menu and to order. The guy who makes the sushi is the only person who asked if I needed anything. He walked away from the middle of making his sushi to get me a menu. The waitress even brought the people next to me their drinks before mine when I came in first and had been there for a good 5 minutes or so waiting before they even came in. I was excited to unwind and enjoy some of my favorite things, but then the server gave me attitude after she saw the expression on my face after she took their order before even asking me if I wanted anything. I m highly disappointed.

They ve gone done on their sushi roll portions. We ordered a Texan and surf and turf. The Texan had six small pieces that could ve been from the happy hour menu which was priced at 13 dollars. The surf and turf had a little cream cheese and small shrimp with mostly rice.

Ordered sushi and chicken fried rice. For drinks ordered long Island iced tea. Talking about food first, I would say I like the sushi and the presentation. Sushi gets 5/5. The reason I took away 2 points was because of the other things I ordered were not up to my expectations based of my past experience at this place. Chicken fried rice was very bland no flavor, dry rice and very overcooked. The chicken and vegetables in the rice were not properly combined/mixed together. You can still see some chunks of the white rice. The other thing was that on one side there were hardly any chicken in the rice and ended up finding more chicken on the other side of the rice...I had to mix everything together. Chicken in the rice wasnt that appetizing. Again bland flavor felt like eating boiled chicken breast that was seasoned with salt and pepper. The drinks were not that great. I had to switch long Island iced tea for a moscow mule. Which was alright. In the past I have had better experience with food and drinks. Service was exceptional

Most incredible spot Ive been in our area, hands down. Competes with sushi places downtown that are way more high scale, and this place, doesnt try and be what its not, they know what theyre good at and they stick to it. My wife and I went yesterday night, sat at the sushi bar, only people in there, and talked with I believe his name was Johnny, the sushi chef, super cool dude, made some off the menu stuff for me. And on top of all thatz I found a new favorite, the scallop topped sushi, exquisite, tasteful and just lit my mouth on fire in a taste bud party type of way. 10/10 will return and will recommend

Brought my son here to get some sushi. Atmosphere is weird and more of a bar scene that plays old 80 s music. Ordered some sushi and it was okay. Then ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp and when she brought it out it was not like what they have at Shoguns. The steak looked like it was cremated, I thought well let me taste it anyways and I thought I was going to drop dead from a heart attack it was so salty! Dinner for 1 please. I was pleasantly suprised last night with this one. I know it may seem strange that I ordered a margarita at a sushi restaurant but this is Texas Yall. I explained to my server that I have been cursed in a way that makes it difficult for me to find a good margarita at any restaurant EVER! She came back with the best tasting Margarita Ive ever had (aside from homemade). It was different and delicious. She told me they make their own sweet and sour mix. I had the Tootsie roll from the menu, also delicious. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Two thumbs up and 5 stars!

Great staff, fresh food and the owners are great with customers! Very friendly and great with conversation. This restaurant definitely knows how to make sure their customers are enjoying the full experience of a sushi bar. Highly recommend!

Food was fresh and service was quick. Reasonable prices, happy hour was a great deal. Chicken bites were very plain, I dont think they even had salt. Crab Rangoon was good, decently stuffed. Pot stickers were delicious, they were our favorite item. Maui tacos were really good too. Not sure why they came coated in some brown sauce that wasnt mentioned in the description. Philly roll was okay. The rice ratio was a bit more than I like. Shaggy roll was good, shrimp was crunchy and fresh. Both sushi roll plates came coated with sauce. I can see theyre using it as decorative garnish but if you dont like it youre suck with it touching your food. Drinks were a great. The happy hour prices in general were worth it. I would recommend it.

We will definitely be back. Not your typical sushi bar, more of a local hangout. We got 3 rolls: the cajun, theTexan, and the spider monkey. All three were great (my favorite was the texan, his was the cajun)! They were also able to give us a side of avocado for my 1 year old. Service was fast and friendly.

Servers were very friendly but a little bit discombobulated. The atmosphere was dark if you like for privacy/romance. We were served the appetizer at the same time as our first sushi rolls, which are good size but we were pretty hungry so we ordered a second round just one roll to try another kind as well. The tables were a bit small (my husband and I are big eaters so there was little room for the app/rolls/drink dishes). The food is excellent, very tasty, well presented, on the innovative side and saucy which is why I chose this spot for our sushi date night. Another reason we went with this place is because of it s hours. The other options for sushi in the area closed too early at 10 or 11pm on a Friday (hello weekend?)
