The entire experience was mediocre at best. The food seems like it was pre-made, then warmed up or kept under a heat lamp, like a fast food burger. Definitely tasted like what you would find at Whataburger. So I don t know what everyone s raving about. I had the basic hippo burger and the number 3 (the special hippo burger I think that what its called) they were alright not the freshest taste. The Cajun fries were good though. The service was not the best, granted we where at a big table so it might have been hard to remember who got what. We had numbers for orders but they were not used and not very clearly established as order numbers. The waitress had seem to get lost in all the people and gave out the wrong orders multiple times. Atmosphere was alright ..I don t know how old the place is but it definitely needs a face lift. It s like Bobs Burgers IRL. The prices were fair, but that doesn t justify the pre made taste of the burgers. Dietary restrictions: Don t go here if you re on a diet. Parking: No problem parking. Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair Accessible with ease.

The best burgers we have ever had. Wow!!! I had the Hawaiian burger and my husband had the Mexican burger. They were huge!!! The buns are amazing, the burgers are perfectly seasoned and huge. My husband always gets a double and could barely finish a single. The Cajun fries are insanely good. I am not sure if they are hand cut or not but they taste like they are. No ketchup or anything needed. FYI You will need to wash hands and face after eating. They are messy like a good burger should be. Prices are very affordable for the amount of food you get.

Came here for the 1st time this past Tuesday after trying In and Out for the 1st time. In and out was absolutely trash, such tiny burgers! Hippo Burgers satisfied my burger craving for sure!! The cashier was very nice, made recommendations and seemed knowledgeable. When the store was slow she started cleaning instead of pulling out her phone. Very very impressive!! Been thinking about these burgers since Tuesday. Will DEFINITELY be back!!

My mushroom and Swiss burger was dry, sister had the same thing and hers was dry as well. We both got extra mayo too, and put even more on afterwards ourselves. That didnt moisten it any at all. Fries were great though, and the milkshakes are AMAZING

This has to be one of my favorite burger places lately! This aint McDs, Whataburger or In and Out type of hyped overpriced bland burgers! These are big juicy quality burgers! The pattie are always fresh and flavorful! The veggies are also fresh and never skimpy! You will get full! The fries are great regardless of how you order them and the onion rings are wonderful as well! One of my favorites is the Blue cheese Bacon Burger and it has always consistent! Very glad I found this gem and can wait to try other locations now that they are branching out!

Dont be fooled by the plain Jane exterior. The burgers are HUGE, the taste rocks and the service is fast. You have choices of almost all burger toppings known to mankind. A burger alone is around $9; a combo with fries and a drink is around $14 - not bad at all for a half pound burger.

Im struggling bc I really want to leave a good review bc the service was decent. Came on a Sunday morning. First time trying a Hippo Burger location. I got the avocado burger. It fell apart completely before the third bite and was a soggy mess before I could finish. Not really an enjoyable thing to navigate for the prices that they charge. When arriving at the location, not much to look at, it is an independent business but overall a good experience. The food is always fresh, made ready hot for your satisfaction. The moral is low but whoever is cooking the food is ON POINT. Never have had an issue with the food or service. I do recommend this location to visit with family as well and eat . Got the mushroom Swiss burger and regular french fries..burger was definitely fresh and made to order, love the grilled bun, but not S&P on the patty! Feel like it would have made it better or some garlic salt even. Regular fries were good, but again no salt. This is my third time trying and just hasnt hit right yet for me anyways. As a hungry @ss Mexican in Texas, Ive been to a lot of burger places. I gotta say this is *the* best burger place Ive ever been to. Great prices, food, and customer service. Beautifully toasted buns and a flavorful patty with each burger. One of the things that really set it apart from other burger shops is that they dont hold you at gunpoint to get both a drink and fries because it HAS to be a meal, you can just buy them separately. Were a family of 3 came in after my coworker told me about this place. Omgggg its amazing. Got the double bacon cheese burger meal, kids cheeseburger and a mushroom swiss. Normally the work crew goes somewhere else for lunch but they ended up being closed today. We passed Hippo Burger and decided to try it. This is a diamond in the rough. Area is kinda shady so we werent sure, but of course I checked the reviews and they were surprisingly high. Yall, the burgers/chicken sandwiches are huge and delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I ordered the spicy fried pickles and they are probably the best Ive ever had. Staff is very friendly. I will definitely recommend to my other coworkers. We were all pleasantly surprised.

Im sorry to say the burgers themselves are quite bland. I purchased their double patty monster and tots, which were crispy and super yum. Though the burger was pleasing to the eye with fresh ingredients and fancy setup, the meat itself tasted of nothing - no seasoning. I would normally appreciate this, as Im not a fan of salt, but other spices (like garlic, pepper, and coriander) were so much needed. Imagine biting into double patties that taste like nothing. Thats a lot of tasteless beef, lol. Also, the person attending us was kind of nonchalant and disinterested in taking my order. Ill also mention that my Husband had tried out Hippo Burger twice before and said they dont have flavor. Im a huge burger and potatoes fan, and their burgers look so great, so I wanted to try for myself. I just dont understand the lack of seasoning. Very cute little burger joint. Clean and quiet inside and the food is excellent. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and it was huge. I could have easily gotten away with not getting the double but I ate the whole thing anyway. My daughter got the chili-fries and ended up using some of my fries to scape her plate clean. It s a bit far from my house but we ll be coming back for sure.

The name Hippo Burger should let you know what youre in for. This is a big, thick, hand formed patty. Flavor was great! If in Humble, I will definitely stop here again. The onion rings were good, although a little heavy on the batter. The restaurant itself was jammin. Lots of people inside and picking up to go orders. As a small business owner Im always reluctant to give bad reviews, however this experience was difficult to stomach. I called for pick up order at 630pm specifically stated be there to pick up at 7. I got there at 645 paid for food and waited. About 705 I asked for update on food the front worker said your order is next. After 15 more minutes I go back up and ask the 2nd worker a young lady whats the status, she stated I said i wanted it ready at 730, (clearly stated in my call 7pm). The young guy up front was rather rude. I asked for the manager they stated there was not one their I asked for the manager name, they didnt know? I responded with please refund my money, he began the process of refunding as the food came out of kitchen. He asked food I want it I said yes Ill take it. He gave it to me I asked for my drinkshe walked over to get them. I said thank you he walked off and disregarded me, I then stated i said thank you he still disregarded. I said give me my money back. I left. Its imperative that customer service is a priority and Im sure the owner isnt aware of these interactions.

Customer service is a huge thing I look for when I dine out. When I walked into this location which is not my first time, the lady at the cash register had an attitude when I was ordering my food. Most of the time I would tip for great service but this time I didn t due to her being rude. Took long on my order and it felt shady at that point. This will be my last time coming to ghetto location. Be mindful, if you don t tip they might do something to your food

This place has the hamburgers that Eddie Murphy talked about in his stand-up comedy show the homemade ghetto Burger it is huge I have never been able to eat the whole thing I normally buy one Burger and split it between me and my niece and we still do not eat our entire half. Get the seasoned fries and if you are lactose intolerant I would not suggest the shakes because they will have you drinking more than one they are delicious I love this place I eat here at least once a week sometimes twice they are not expensive and even the childrens burgers are huge try it out you wont be disappointed

The burger was super sloppy and wet, the bun was soggy/wet and falling apart. The bacon had a nasty smoked flavor and the burger meat had no taste other than old grease flavor. Fries were under cooked.

After work I decided to try a new place my friend Samone recommended Hippo Burgers. There are four locations located off 59N. I went to the one off Wilson Rd. Its very spacious but, simple. Lots of different Hippo Burgers to choose from. I went with the Avocado Burger. Good flavor, big patty thats well cooked, grilled onions, guacamole and tomato. They recommended the Cajun fries which had lots of flavor. I recommend the Jalapeño Ketchup. The drink station offers Pepsi products and flavored soda like orange crush. Two big screen tvs showing movies, lots of Booths & tables. Worth the stop to enjoy a Good Burger. I will be back!

I have loved this place since I found them a lil over 3 years ago. Hambers IMHO are one of the top ones in the area. I have to make sure to ask for light salt outside of that A+. I use to love the wings to. Bragged to a lot of people about them. They seem to have changed over the years (maybe its just me.) Still decent but not nearly as good as they use to be. I dont waste my time ordering them anymore. This is just one fat boys opinion. Try it for yourself.

Nice find in Humble area. Random stop since we were in the area. We are from Clear Lake area and we never seen this place by us. Glad we stopped here. I had the #6 Mushroom Burger with sweet potato fries and Med Strawberry shake. All was very tasty. The burger perfectly cooked. The sweet potatoes fries on point. The shake was delicious. Place very clean and service was nice. Definitely if you are in the area I recommend you stop and give them a try.

Hippo Burgers was an instant favorite for me since the first time I tried it a couple years back. First off, the burgers are HUGE and absolutely to die for and LOADED with different assortments of toppings. If you think the prices are a bit high for a meal you have yet to see the size of these things! You wont be disappointed. Also, the shakes are delicious and a bit addictive (I personally go with the Oreo.. and they do not chince out on the Oreo one bit.) I havent tried all of the burgers yet but I try to change it up every time and I couldnt pick a favorite to save my life, but I can say I highly suggest adding bacon to whatever you get if its not already there! ***Just a suggestion for someone trying to save a little money, or if youre not SUPER hungry, just get a kids burger!! Theyre cheaper and still bigger (and WAY better) than a quarter pounder or any other fast food type burger!!*** This place is a must try for foodies in Houston!!

Not busy at the time of visit. Employee was polite. Pricing was reasonable. Food was hot, fresh and tasteful. Food arrived at table in a timely fashion. Definitely will revisit. Destination is not in the most desirable area.
