My fiancé and I had the pleasure of attending the open house to see the venue, and were in love. Shirley Acres exudes a classic wedding feeling without stepping too far into the rustic or barnyard style. It isnt the most modern of venues, but from the moment you step on property, it exudes a warm fuzzyness that I imagine would remind even the most frazzled brides to relax, breath, and enjoy her big day. The biggest pro of the venue is their very reasonable one package to fit all offerings. I also loved thar that their bridal suite is more than suitable in size for any party and provides direct access to the ceremony site for lost looking to stay tucked away before the ceremony. Their catering chef is also 1000% the way to go when feeding guest for the restaurant quality food he provides. The largest con would be that the site is shared between the two possible reception halls and opens the possibility of having two weddings occur at the same time, though admittedly the layout has been so well worked its likely the two parties would never even see eachother. It is near a busy road, so some noise can be faintly heard in the outdoor ceremony garden. Though there was no music playing during our visit, I imagine even at a low volume, it would mask it. Overall, for the classic bride, it doesnt get much better in Houston than this.

I had my wedding back in March at Shirley Acres and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From touring the venue to planning the wedding to actually celebrating the big day, their entire staff was there with us supporting us along the way. Big shout out to Allie Aden who helped coordinate things perfectly so I didnt have to worry about any minor detail! (BONUS! She was able to quickly convert us back to an outdoor wedding since the skies decided to clear up! It was perfect.) Food, drinks, venue, dj, florist, etc. were all perfect and theyre always up for giving recommendations on vendors when needed. Definitely check them out if youre planning a big event!

We recently had our wedding at Shirley Acres in May 2024 and we were very happy with the whole process from beginning to end. The staff really made planning easier and less stress for my husband and I. If I had concerns or questions, they answered back in a timely manner. Everyone was so polite and nice, not just to the bride and groom but to all of my guests. They were very accommodating and willing to work with my ideas and they were not pushy either. The venue is very beautiful, open, bright and elegant. My guests enjoyed the food and complimented on how beautiful the venue was all night. Thanks Shirley Acres for helping me create my memorable magical day!

Overall, our wedding was absolutely beautiful and we had a great experience. Coming into it, we knew there would be hiccups along the way (as every wedding will), but we feel the venue has some areas of improvement. Our ceremony and reception were extremely stressful since we felt we had to coordinate everything ourselves, and throughout the whole experience, no one communicated with us about what needed to happen or what was expected from us. Our wedding party, guests and family were not taken care of, the dinner had to be corrected, and I had to initiate every communication. To start, we always had to initiate contact with the coordinator (April). I think this led to some miscommunication with things we thought would be taken care of. One example is at rehearsal. There was confusion with the actual ceremony because things were not adequately explained at rehearsal. Our wedding party and family commented that rehearsal was nothing like the ceremony and we didnt know what to do. When we spoke with the coordinator about what we wanted, we thought she would execute them the day of, but it turned out we had to give a lot more attention to details and communication to our guests than we thought. Additionally, despite me giving a schedule of events (that I had to make) and confirming with the venue multiple times that we can take pictures outside at a certain time, at one point we had to relocate because another event needed the space. This was irritating because if we knew, we would have set up somewhere else to begin with. Another issue was with seating. Our family was not told where to sit, and this resulted in some immediate family sitting in the back of the room during the reception. The tables for family were reserved at the front, but that was never communicated to the guests, and we had non-family sitting at those tables. It was heartbreaking to see our grandparents seated at the back of the room. The package deal was a lifesaver, and really helped to ease stress. They were very flexible with putting together the package and wedding that we wanted. I also love that I was able to drop some things off the week before. Part of the package deal was that the meal would accommodate the many allergies of our family. We were explicitly promised by the owner that this would be the case. This promise is one of the main reasons why we picked the venue. Despite the confirmation call the week of, the night of the wedding, we were served a plate of food that did not reflect what we talked about, and had all of the allergies mentioned. It was quickly corrected, but it made us anxious about the food our guests were being served- we had many guests with severe allergies. Despite being assured the allergies would be accounted for, being served the wrong plate made us concerned. The food was delicious, no doubt, but we thought our guests would have the same allergy friendly options we had, and we spent quite a bit of time at dinner double checking the food and making sure our guests were okay. One of the biggest things we did not appreciate was that my matron of honor served our party their drinks and dinner. April was very attentive to serve the bride and groom, but our wedding party was completely ignored. In short, it seemed all the attention of the staff was on the bride and groom and this resulted in neither our family nor our wedding party being taken care of. This hurt our hearts, as the burden of taking care of them fell on us and was actually impossible for us to do. At the end of the day, I would use Shirley Acres again. I just want other brides to know what they are getting into. If you want someone to actually help, guide you, and run the show, hire extra support. I will say though, April was the perfect blend of calm and excited. Every time I talked with her, I felt like I could take a deep breath. She was a great emotional support!

Shirley acres was perfect, magical, and just amazing. Allie was awesome and made everything run smoothly, I didn t have to stress about anything. If there was an issue Mr.Shirley made sure we knew it was his top priority to fix it. The food was DELICIOUS and the venue was BEAUTIFUL. Great opportunities for some gorgeous photos. Throughout the night guest were commenting about how wonderful everything was. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone having a big party/wedding.

If you are going to get married. Look no further. Shirley acres was the perfect place, Bob was so easy to work with, and Simone our wedding planner took care of us when during the wedding. It was so beautiful, It was a wonderful experience. And the food was so spectacular. Our guests are still raving how good the food was, the wine and the cake. Im still wishing I had some of the food left over. Lol we ate all the left overs we were given. Me and my husband had a beautiful experience and so grateful to the staff at Shirley acres.

We just had our wedding here and it was such a great experience! We couldn t be more thankful for Kristie, she did a great job coordinating our wedding and made sure the day went smoothly. We were also from out of state so Kristie was very accommodating & Bob was incredible from the start with customizing a package that would fit our needs & budget. This venue is GORGEOUS! We had our wedding at Shirley Acres in August. From beginning to the end, the staff of Shirley Acres was exceptional. The staff of Shirley Acres were always available to answer our questions during the planning process, via email, phone calls, and in person meetings. They were flexible to the needs of our Indian Wedding. Allie and Kristie were our day of coordinators and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us! They made sure that our big day ran smoothly! We did not have to worry on our big day because we knew we were in good hands. They paid attention to the small details that we wanted and had a game plan for everything! Our event, a gala/fundraiser for our church was a success! The venue was great; food was very good and services we needed (microphone, etc.) were available and worked as advertised. We worked with Samone who guided us through menu selections, answered our many questions and was a delight to work with. Shirley Acres made our wedding dreams come true! We had our wedding here in October 2023. We chose the venue because it is all-inclusive, since my husband and I both had busy lives. They really took care of everything, and the people we had the pleasure of working with at Shirley Acres were professional and really care about making your special day just as you imagine it. I cannot recommend Shirley Acres enough! Our Wedding Coordinator, Allie took the bull by the horns and ran with it as well as Margaret, our Florist. We gave them our idea and gave them room to insert their own as well- they made Magic happen!!!! I never had to worry about anything from day one through walking down the aisle! That s a big thing since I m a control freak. My guests have not stopped raving about the food, especially the Prime Rib!!! They know what they re doing here! I feel so blessed to have had my wedding here and if I ever have any other event again- it will be here again!!!! If you don t give Bob and his Team a chance, you re really missing out!!

We loved Shirley Acres! From the moment we walked in, Bob was very friendly and gave us a quote that listed everything that would be needed for the day of the wedding. Not only are their prices reasonable, but the entire process is stress-free. The florals are fresh and beautiful. The food and cake were delicious. The DJ knew how to read the crowd and had our dance floor going all night. We are still receiving compliments from guests about how fun it was and how delicious the food was. Last but not least, our day-of wedding coordinator, Kristy, was amazing! She was so friendly & patient. Unlike the majority of couples, because everything was stress-free & Kristy was on top of everything, we were actually able to enjoy our wedding and dance the entire night with our guests. Shirley Acres was AMAZING for our wedding in April!! We cant say enough great things about this wonderful staff and event space! We used Shirley Acres for everything - florals, food, DJ, cake etc. and everything was FABULOUS. The customer service was impeccable, and they considered every detail every step of the way! Florals: They did a fantastic job at matching the Pinterest pictures I provided, and turned out exactly as we had discussed in the meeting. They even provided downtown delivery of the bouquets for the day of, which was absolutely above and beyond. Food: 10/10!!! We received SO many compliments on the wedding dinner meal (which I know NEVER happens) - which I hope can be relayed to the longstanding chef who works to create any customized meal plan for your event that you want! DJ: Our assigned DJ through Shirley Acres, BillyJack, absolutely killed it. We wanted a fun time and a strong dancefloor turnout, and boy did we get it!! He kept up the energy the entire 5 hours of our reception - we didnt want to leave! SO much fun, and he was completely accommodating for any and all music requests and specifics we wanted. CAKE: The bakery, MEB Cakes, thats included in the contract for the event space - makes one of the best wedding cakes youll ever taste. The cake turned out exactly as we planned, and we had 4 tiers with all different flavors and fillings!! I would love to get another one made just for the taste someday. Overall - this is absolutely the best venue choice you could make in all of Houston!!! Our entire event was made so smooth and so easy thanks to the wonderful Shirley Acres team. THANK YOU.

UPDATE: The wedding was Friday and Shirley Acres delivered above and beyond our wildest expectations. I cannot recommend them highly enough, I truly dont know why you would have your event anywhere else! We haven t even had our wedding yet but Shirley Acres deserves 6/5 stars. We worked with the owner, Bob, from the beginning of the process to the time we signed the contract. He is the first person I ve met in the wedding industry who I feel like I can trust at face value. I m so excited to continue working with them and host our event there. Their chef, Felipe, was with us during the entire tasting and his passion for cooking was obvious. Shirley acres was absolutely wonderful! From the day we toured it it was an easy process for the wedding planning. The only con on our day was the rain and we missed out on the beautiful greenery that was one of the reasons we booked the venue. We had Allie as our coordinator and omg she hit it out of the ballpark with the entire staff. From the initial meeting to the rehearsal and the day of Allie had it down and taken care of. She really felt part of the family so fast and it made nerves and anxiousness go away. The food was exceptional and we chose the Italian buffet (we still think about the pastas and want the recipe), the DJ they provide was great especially for a Latino wedding, the florals were even better than I expected. With our wedding being switched inside due to the rain I was worried about florals but omg they just made it look elegant and beautiful! It was breathtaking. MEB cakes who provided the wedding cake was EXCEPTIONAL!! The owner Bob really pitched that to us when touring and he was not wrong about the cake and everything else included in the packet. We have family in spring and nearby Houston area so the drive wasn t too bad for many of our guests but this place is so worth it if you consider it far. It was also only the 3rd place we toured and it was the most budget friendly for our wedding budget out of all the places we had planned to look at. Within an hour of the tour we called back to start the booking for our date. The owner and workers really are there for you and to make your day the absolute best! Tour & book them!!

Wow! I cannot recommend this venue more. From the day we toured, to the wedding day itself, everything was amazing. The venue is beautiful. Grounds/gardens are outstanding and the Garden room - just beautiful. Every question asked during planning was answered promptly. Every detail thought of well ahead of time. It is an all inclusive venue which I highly recommend. A very high standard but very affordable compared to other venues we toured. All the staff are excellent, very kind, caring and accommodating. Allie was our wedding planner and she is just amazing!! She made sure everything was absolutely perfect. Listened to what the bride and groom wanted but also made great suggestions to help their day be everything they hoped for. So professional, but also so sensitive to all our needs, especially the Bride s throughout the wedding day!! We loved that Margaret the florist is on site, so any changes needed last minute could be accommodated. Our flowers and the brides bouquet so beautiful. Music at the wedding was very important to all of us, Paul the DJ did not disappoint!! We definitely had a full dance floor, fun party from start to finish!!! The food!! WOW! Outstanding food and service. So many of our guests commented on the delicious food. Our experience of buffets have not always been great, but not at Shirley Acres!! Outstanding chef!! All the food was presented beautifully, delicious and hot and plenty of it!! We can t thank Allie and all the staff at Shirley Acres enough for making our daughters wedding the Best Day Ever!!

Shirley Acres really was the complete package! From the very beginning, their whole staff was very accommodating. Allie was our coordinator and she worked closely with my MOH to ensure that the day ran smoothly. She even put sprite in our champagne glasses when she found out we don t drink alcohol. She thought of everything to help make our day perfect. We booked our officiant and DJ through them and they were outstanding. Our florals were provided and turned out beautifully! It was all amazing from start to finish. Clean, elegant, hot delicious food, clean bathrooms all night long. Everyone one is very accommodating, professional. The bridal coordinator Ally was so so friendly, she was always around if we needed her. We lost a necklace was found and returned WOW we would definitely recommend this venue you will not go wrong.. I cant say enough wonderful and amazing things about this venue and all the staff from the owner Bob, the coordinators April and Allie, the floral designer Ronnie down to the waitstaff. It is a BEAUTIFUL venue, all of our guests raved about the food, the flowers and the music! We were extremely happy and loved the wedding cake bakery and photographer recommendations. M.E.B cakes did a phenomenal wedding and grooms cake that was delicious and photographer Chris W Photography did an awesome job capturing the day and was so much fun! DJ Alex played all the music we wanted and kept the party going, he totally rocked it! April was our coordinator that day and she made everything go as smooth and perfect as any bride would want for her special day! I would recommend Shirley Acres all day, everyday for your wedding- they made planning our wedding stress free, perfect and beautiful! As I reflect on my 4 year wedding anniversary I realized I never left a proper review for my venue!! Shirley Acres gave us the best bang for our dollar for one of the most special nights of my life. I dreamed of a new years eve wedding and they executed it to a T. Initially planned for an outdoor ceremony but of course houston weather was unpredictable and it was so cold outside. Shirley Acres staff pivoted with ease and we moved the ceremony inside. The all inclusive package we chose really helped us because we came from out of town to Houston to get married so less vendors for us to deal with. I d seriously consider the drive up to Shirley Acres for all you wedding or event planning needs.

This is the most amazing venue. Their all inclusive package is so worth it! It takes a huge burden of work off of you during your planning stages. We chose the garden room for the brightness, large windows, and open concept seating. Allie was my event coordinator, and she was absolutely amazing. She was straight forward & worked very well with me. During the wedding event - When she had a question or suggestions, she would deliver it within 20 seconds, get an answer from me, and I would be on my merry way to enjoy time with my family, friends, and newly wed husband. I felt like I was being taken care of & that she wanted the event to go as smoothly as possible - & it did! Such a joy to work with! After the wedding - I got phone calls and messages saying how much fun everyone had. The team at Shirly Acres really did a beautiful job. I highly recommend this venue.

Had my wedding at Shirley Acres last weekend and it was perfection! From the first tour, to planning, to showtime, they were on top of everything. Every question I had was answered if not the same day, the day after. The flowers and decor was probably even better than anything I could have dreamed of. Ronnie was so supportive in my selection of flowers and kind in offering suggestions about my arrangements and center pieces. Allie was our coordinator and was so responsive to every concern and helped us figure out any issues we had. And the food was top notch!! We wanted southern chicken fried chicken and all the fixings and we got so much more than we ever expected. Crispy, juicy chicken, flavorful green beans and fluffy buttery loaded mashed potatoes. Even had the most delicious fried okra, and I have never liked okra before but my husband wanted it. We could not give enough praise for everything Allie and the whole staff at Shirley Acres did to make our wedding day absolute perfection!

Our experience with this venue was just amazing. We had a half Lebanese half American wedding and the staff is so kind and friendly and its hard not to feel like they genuinely care about you and your big day. We went up there to see the venue and do a tasting which I thought would be just sampling some food but instead it was a full blown three course meal that the chief made just for us and they made us feel like we were royalty. The food was AMAZING. My wedding was this past Thursday and they allowed me to go to the bridal suite early because my makeup artists needed more time. April ( my day of coordinator) was the most precious, sweetest person. I do not know what I would have done without her. I tend to want to control everything so it took everything in me to let go and let April take charge but she was on it ! She helped me feel calm and comfortable and made sure all my requests were met. She kept coming in to check on me as I was getting ready. I think I will remember April for the rest of my life. The wedding was so perfect and amazing, the one little glitch was when the groomsmen were walking down the aisle the music cut off suddenly and it took them off guard but luckily the music was back on right in time for the Groom to walk down. We had our wedding in the smaller reception area and it felt so cozy and intimate ( 50 guests). The bartender, DJ, and all the servers were so friendly and sweet. My guests had a better time than they could have imagined. I received so many compliments on the food, they all said it did not taste like venue food but like a five star restaurant. Seriously choosing this venue was the best decision of our marriage <3

Had the pleasure of attending a wedding at Shirley Acres, the property is quite large, so after parking we headed in, we were greeted by the staff who were there to guide everyone to the correct place, the wedding setting was absolutely beautiful, very picturesque, after the ceremony we all went inside for cocktails and appetizers while waiting for the bridal party. The staff were all fantastic, food excellent and the indoor and outdoor facilities are all amazing. If you are looking for a wedding venue you won t be disappointed choosing Shirley Acres.

We looked at 15-20 venues around Houston before going to Shirley Acres. The moment we stepped onto the property, we fell in love with it. It had the perfect natural beauty with a rustic, Texan feel. Bob and his team were really great hosts and extremely helpful every step of the way. The wedding/reception packages are very reasonably prices, and worth every penny. They cover all your needs, plus a little more. The floral decoration and setup was absolutely stunning. It was perfection right from the arrangement of the tables to each flower petal. Almost every single one of our 300 guests was in awe of the ambiance and the beauty of Shirley Acres. The personal attention and care provided by Bob and his team was extremely gratifying they go above and beyond to make sure you are at ease. We had our wedding here on July 19, 2019, and it was FABULOUS! We had our ceremony and reception in the Garden Room, and it was beautiful! Everything turned out amazing, from the flowers to the food to the DJ and event coordinator (Charity), it was all incredible! The grounds are gorgeous for pictures, the staff was all friendly. I got married here almost 3 years ago! Mr. Shirley is one of the kindest people on this planet and made my wedding day so easy! Everything was provided and the only thing we had to come up with was the photographer. I look back on my wedding day with such happy and beautiful memories.
