We were looking for something fast, but tasty and filling, so we resorted to Google for some nearby options. It sent us to this little joint in downtown Houston that houses a couple restaurants. The Smokes menu caught our eye and we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. The pulled pork and brisket with Cole slaw and seasoned fries were enough for two. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, so much so we visited the following day and sampled another restaurant. This time I got the chicken salad platter while my colleague had fried chicken, Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries

Swallows Nest is a gem of a cocktail bar in the middle of downtown Houston. The staff are always hand picked to be friendly and knowledgeable, and I always know Im going to have a solid spot to take a pause before hopping back on the train. They also have a great selection of spirits.

Theres a chase bank on the bottom floor, the building is beautiful on the inside. If youre at finn hall next door stop in and have a gander.
