Sophisticated and fun bar with an amazing atmosphere. Top notch food, unique cocktails, and great service as soon as you enter .employees greet you with warmth and a smile. Alcohol selection leaves nothing to the imagination whether you re into bourbon, tequila, gin, scotch, vodka, or non-alcoholic beverages they have you covered. In a nut shell it s a vibrant bar with just enough action and people to make you enjoy the night out with friends and loved ones but def not doing too much. Make sure to strike up a convo with Justin, Trent, and Bryan they are some of the best bar tenders in Houston serving some of the best drinks in the city.

Loved the vibe in here - feels like a 70s or 80s cocktail lounge but very laid back and not pretentious at all. Cocktails were delicious and bartenders were very nice and friendly. I didn t order my own food, but I munched on my friends and it was pretty tasty.

We have been here so many times and the service has always seemed hit or miss. My husband and our guy friends love it though because of the whiskey selection and quality of drinks. This time however, will be our last miss because we will not be going back. Our first round of drinks were really good however when we went to order a second round the bartender was unprofessional and off putting. Had we been spending $6 a drink each we can accept service that can often be considered iffy but when some of the drinks were in the $50 each range (receipts can be provided) we do expect, at the bare minimum, friendliness and then hopefully with some reapect. However, we did not receive either. And now, I am tired of giving my money to a business, and to bartenders, that may or may not even be nice to us. So that will be our last visit. We try to pour into small businesses, and support them. However if we are treated as less than we will absolutely not be back. Nor will we recommend it to our friends. Absolutely unnecessary. And completely avoidable. Just be nice to people please.

Beware of bartenders helping themselves to adding extra charges separately on the credit/debit card presented, thinking customer will not take notice!!! I had been here several times, and never gotten extra charges until last night! Both bartenders were confronted, and gave lame excuses for the additional separate charge of $10 (one bartender stated how their system does it automatically in amounts of $30, $40, $50...), and the charge did not revert!! No telling how many other customers theyve done this to! My friend and I, along with others, will no longer patronize this location... thats for sure!!!

My friend and I were excited to check this place out, but the bartenders were so rude I would never return here. The Christmas vibe was super cute, and the eggnog was delicious, too bad the service was atrocious. At one point, the bartender even cornered me and accused me of trying to steal the eggnog mug when I was trying to take a picture outside with the lights on the patio. I will NEVER be back. This was my 3rd year at Miracle at Johnnys, and Im sad to say its gone downhill. We were seated in back of the outside patio, next to the tent opening, where the breeze was pretty chilly. There were several open tables nearby and I asked our server if we could move over but she said the hostess was, crazy busy right now so it may be a while. Okay. no biggie, I get it, its a popular place. All the draft beers were unavailable, and it was only 8pm. Okay, again popular place, it happens. But the final straw, We ordered our food and drinks, tamales and a burger, they came out before the drinks. Red flag. the burger and tots were cold. the bean and cheese tamales had no beans. They had been sitting out for who knows how long. $87 bucks for 2 decent cocktails, cold food, and cold breeze? This aint it. Houston has better and warmer holiday options.

Family antique shoppers kicked me out of the car to haul goodies back to house and couldn t have landed on a better barstool than at Johnny s! Restroom too nice for a dive bar, more like an old-school neighborhood classic cocktail dive bar. The bartenders are the difference their conversation as refreshing as their drinks. Had the pleasure of spending most of the afternoon with Alden ( just wasn t ready to leave when family came to pick me up). Cold local brews, professionally crafted cocktails, and good food truck out front. Every week my friends and I try to do a happy hour. Visited Johnny s Gold Brick on Thursday, August 10th and we ve all been saying how we will be back. Parking is plentiful which is a plus considering the location of this bar. Typically, the inner loop bars tend to have limited parking or valet. The parking lot services both Johnny s and a coffee shop. Not sure if the two are connected or if you can walk through the coffee shop to get to Johnny s. Didn t seem like it once I was inside. Johnny s vibe is laid back and kinda quirky. It s definitely a neighborhood bar feel. The lighting is low and there weren t too many people which was a plus! The bartenders made each drink to perfection. I ordered 4 drinks and tasted my friends drinks as well. There was only one drink that I wouldn t order again, but it wasn t because the drink was poorly made, it was just due to my personal alcohol preference. Each of us ordered food. I just had the spicy Chex mix which was perfect for just drinking and hanging out. Two of my friends ordered the burger and one ordered the ribs. The burgers got better recommendations from my friends than the ribs. You should decide for yourself. The burgers are kinda smash style and you can get them dressed how you want. Not sure if they come with fries or if you have to order them separately, but both of my friends had fries. The fries were nice and hot. Fresh. The ribs looked promising, but my friend said they were lacking in taste and kinda tough. I think the food comes from a food truck or very small kitchen as they don t have plentiful options. Overall, we d come back simply for the drinks, the atmosphere, the service, and the music. Try it out!

A wonderful location in a great area. The barbacoa quesadillas are amazing! I highly recommend these. Their daiquiris are classic. I love the indoor and outdoor seating. There is a large scale screen inside and a water station. Our servers were friendly and attentive. One was also fluent in Spanish. Conveniently, there is also a food truck outside. If I could put zero stars I would, I have been informed each time I call that a manager isn t available or just won t assist, back in April I came in for the first time with a friend, used my card to open a tab, but my friend ended up being the one to pay, then my card gets charged 107$ when we only had a couple beers and again my friend was the one who paid the tab, I do not live near the area and by the time the charge posted I was already home. I could understand if it was a accident but every time I ve spoken to an employee and explained what happened I get brushed off. My number has been taken several times on the extremely rare occasion they answer the phone and my friend who lives in the area has even gone in on my behalf to try and talk to a manager but she has gotten the same answer that a manager is unavailable. This is a absolutely horrible way to run a business and I m very upset that 107$ of my money was charged when they tab was already paid and management seems to be okay with stealing my money.

We had been searching for a place that was both decorated with Christmas everything and that had actual Christmas theme food and drinks. Well the Miracles pop-up did not disappoint! We weren t able to make a reservation to we just went to try out luck. Fortunately some of the parties had canceled and we were offered a seat outside, but we wanted inside to see how it was decorated. The hostess was so nice and was able to get us two seats inside by the bar: we had such an amazing time. The bartenders answered all of our questions and gave suggestions according to our likes. My fave well several but I was just in love with the eggnog. The cups were so cool all Christmas theme! Amazing marketing. We did the Miracle at Johnnys this year. We had a reservation at 8pm on a Thursday evening. They are usually 90 min slots but nobody was booked afterwards so we were able to stay longer. The explosion of Christmas decor & color is really festive & lovely. The service was friendly, helpful, & informative. There was a good variety of both hot & cold creative, festive, & colorful cocktails. Our group of four tried several & enjoyed the fun and Christmasy variety. The Mulled Wine with port & Christmas spices was my favorite. Delicious! The only downside was it was too hot inside with seemingly no A/C on a warm Houston evening.

The atmosphere in this place for December is incredible. From the decor to the interaction of the bartenders. The cocktails were changed for December due to the holidays. The Trex mug, looks amazing! Love this place. A good neighborhood hangout that has a ton of energy on the weekends. The bartenders are exceptionally talented, friendly, and fun to watch. Strongly recommend trying whatever theyve got on the chalkboard.

2.18.22. Not been here in a while very trending 30 and up maybe some 40s definitely a cool bar to go for the younger era. Manny was a great bartender. Inside seating and out. Any age is accepted but there is a trending younger era. Nice trending music, quaint bar! good, strong drinks! they were out of snacks. Not sure who does the ordering?? Didnt have one snack in the bar. Nice, white leather couches and a disco ball! An outside area to sit. Would go back!

As a Hispanic,..Latina Woman,,. an my bestie who is Vietnamese, Were not given great hospitality Service as obviously everyone else!! Which is totally fine I know where to give my money too And as we proceeded to the front door I Noticed all of the the Hispanic males outside once again obviously they did not feel comfortable insides But were still contributing to your establishment Just by Consuming paid for high dollar cocktails.. which made an impact on me and it totally made sense on how I was treated at the bar.!! Just remember We will all share our experience , As I just now did with all of my friends and family, Please I asked you train your Employers to treat everyone equally

Went for the Miracle pop up and loved it! Drinks are $16 each for the holiday ones. Pricey but good and imo worth it for the experience while there. Gingerbread old fashioned was my favorite, SanTaRex was the cutest. Two other options that are just as good for Christmas are Miracle at Winnie s and Julep bar (no res). Would visit again next year!

Came for the Miracle/Christmas pop up. Very cool, festive ambience and the special holiday drinks were quite tasty. Definitely a fun and unique activity for the holiday seasons Unfortunately, the grinch decided to show up in the form of the bartender(s). We came early and at a time when they were not busy, yet our bartender was very dismissive and seemed annoyed by any questions or interaction we, or other patrons, attempted to make. The couple next to us at the bar said they felt the same way. This was a major bummer given we were there for some holiday cheer and came ready to shell out for the $16 cocktails. We left earlier than we anticipated because of the sour attitudes. I d probably revisit JGB for a regular weeknight out on the patio, but I would not sit at the bar or expect warm, friendly service.

Johnny s has always been one of my favorite cocktail spots in Houston with a rotating menu and superb cocktails (a great variation for everyone to get what they want). We attended the Christmas Miracle pop up and the ambiance and drinks did not disappoint. A bit pricey (up charge on their normal drink costs $12-> $16), however, still tasty and even delivered in holiday themed glasses.

We attended the Miracle pop up last night and it will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit! The whole bar is decked out in Christmas decorations inside and out. I had both the Bad Santa (like a warm buttery hot chocolate) and the Christmapolitan (fruity and balanced served with a rosemary sprig) and both were well made and delicious. You really can t go wrong with indoor or outdoor seating, but we preferred the intimate atmosphere indoors. Christmas music was playing overhead and was a nice touch. Be prepared to wait in line for the bathroom at peak hours as there is only one stall and also know that your reservation is timed (~1.5 hours) so they will give you a friendly reminder when your reservation is ending so that the next guest may be seated. Highly recommend for a fun holiday themed experience!

Look Johnnys is a staple in this community. My brother James Caronna has been a long time patron there and thats how I first was introduced we had his going away party there. the guys that work that bar are amazing and work it they do!!!
