Brought my co workers from out of town to taste real tacos and they were amazed. Tacos were delicious and the cevichelda were on point. We don t have nothing like this in Corpus Christi so this felt like home. Jessica our server was amazing as well and checked up on our table regularly. Food is awesome, sadly I came in today right before 11am like 5 min earlier, they took my order, then I was able to hear how the cooks started complaining saying that why I couldn t wait until 11 to place my order. Unfortunately the vulgar language they used made me feel very uncomfortable, I just wanted to cancel my order and leave the place. Once again food is on point but they need to tailor their service towards the customer needs.

Been here a few times. Kinda hit and miss with this location. Wasnt too full. Restaurant was very very warm. Not sure what was up with the AC. Ordered a birria quesadilla and two individual tacos of tripa, crispy. Food came out reasonably quick. It was nice at hot and tasted ok. Tripas were a little better this visit, crunchy with a few stretchy ones. The birria tasted good and was portioned well but it was very soggy. I hadnt even dipped it in the soup that it comes with. It was an ok visit.

I first tried this place through DoorDash, I m not originally from here so I don t know many good spots. Last time we visited we wanted to get good food but I m pretty picky when it comes to eating so I didn t want just any ordinary tacos/ or food in general. When I saw this on DoorDash the pictures looked too good to be true, we ordered and I was sold instantly. The cucumber lemonade is perfection! The food is fantastic, my most favorite is the ceviche. When it came time to visit again, I told my husband I d only come to the valley if he promised me food from this place again, this time we dined in and Mari was our waitress, she s absolutely wonderful, a delight and very attentive to us! Everyone was super kind there. All in all a wonderful experience. 10/10 would recommend. Only negative is this location isn t open on Sundays, If it were I d totally come back tomorrow.

We stopped by here on the recommendations of another member of an EV group we are in to dine while we wait for our car to charge at the charging station nearby in the same lot. We were blowned away at how good the tacos were!!! My kids got the quesobirria, while my husband and I got one each of the street tacos to try. We ordered more of each and left the place so full!! Always missing salsa, even when you pay for it. I paid for 2 orders of Chips and salsa. They gave me 2 bags of chips, but only one salsa. Why have the option to pay for more of they only give you one every time? I get that salsa is a cost, so thats why I pay extra every time, but they NEVER have gotten it right. this place is usually great. I went the other day and I ordered chicharrónes and they were awful. the oil had to have been old because they were burnt and the pork never got fried up. its was nothing but soggy fat not worth the 17 bucks that I spent on it. Also I ordered the Baja tacos and the fish was rubbery not fresh at all and it was cold. I spent $130 and I feel that I got ripped off. I dont know if I will return or not. I was very disappointed.

Love the food, but service needs improvement and change their manager/management. They always have new people. Last time I had placed a big order and went to pick it up. The bag ripped and fell to the floor as per my food too. The bag was over filled... they could have put it separate to even the weight out. Came to visit my family. First time coming to eat at Calacas In Harlingen. Jessica is a superb waitress. Gave awesome service. Good was delicious. There was not a lot of waiting on the order. Everything my friend and I had at Calacas was amazing! We couldn t decide between so many great menu options. We ordered the choriqueso, costilla de elote (seasonal item), and the quesabirria. It was all excellent! The service was great as well. The only downside to this place is its size. I do not recommend for large groups. We found this great restaurant by accident. We stopped here to charge up our Tesla and now we travel from Bishop TX 100 miles one away just to eat here. The food and salsas are absolutely amazing and delicious. The service is quick and the staff are friendly. The only drawback is the restaurant is a little small but we always find a seat when we go. There is outside seating but in the south Texas heat it is a little uncomfortable. Highly recommend this taco restaurant.

Service is very prompt, welcoming, and friendly. Out waitress took really good care of us and the wait from the time you place your order to when your food arrives is very reasonable. We had Molleja Tacos, Pork Belly Tacos, Charro Beans, Ranchos, Cucumber Lemonade, and a Regular Michelada. All the food was fresh and tasted great. The pork belly tacos say there are 4 to the order, but they give you enough meat for about 6 tacos. Mollejas were meaty and crispy with no large pieces of fat as if they took time to trim the fat off before they prepared them. The drinks come with a lid, and on the lid, they load it with small pieces of cucumber, dill pickle, and an assortment of gummies. The panchos were nice and hot with crispy chips and a healthy serving of meat. The charro beans have good flavor and are cooked with care. Overall, the place is good. The only minor drawback is that they have a very small seating area inside, so you may end up having to sit outside or on a waiting list for a table. The price is a little more than you would pay at a normal valley taqueria, but it is worth it. They have items on their menu that you normally wont find at a taqueria.

Being a mother of two toddlers I needed help putting him on a chair. Jaime who was our waiter helped me without hesitation. I had told him the ugly experience I had received at Calacas in San Benito. He and the manager as well as other staff came to apologize for the ugly experience. They were helpful and food came out right away, not to mention it was delicious. The staff is different I wouldnt mind driving further but feel welcomed. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Must try the Michelada Original.

Stopped at Calacsa on an impulse. I was passing through, and it caught my eye. The outdoor patio is spacious and likely busy on a nice day. I was greeted and seated nicely. The staff was amazing! The menu was nicely done with a variety of options for food and beverages. I ordered a loaded nacho plate as a starter. It was a meal in itself and very shareable for four people. For my main course, I ordered the pork belly tacos....amazingly delicious! I will definitely go back when in the area. Its a family-friendly and fun restaurant. Very casual. Came here with a group of 5. Being our first time, we ordered several different types of tacos, quesadillas, churro beans and more so we could sample many items. Everyone in our party thought the food was incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly - the meats were tender, the veggies were fresh and everything was seasoned to perfection. Theres ample parking, easy to see from the road, great service staff, plenty of seating and attentive support staff for bussing the table and seating. Cant wait to go back!

Visited Calacas from Corpus Christi. The food and service was EXCELLENT! Jessica recommended the elotes and it was amazing! We need a Calacas in Corpus Christi. This spot would have the best tacos in town.

Second time trying it out....love the decor, ambiance is fun, staff is nice, but the tacos are hit or miss. I tried the gringa this time...it was ok. Their pastor meet needs a little more flavor, more meat and less pineapple(even better if it had none) but not bad, I tried it probably wont order again. I tried their bistec tacos, theyre not my favorite(here at least) their fajita tacos are however very good and have great flavor!!! Would not change anything about them, theyre great!!! So all in all I can say that Ive tried it, its a cool little place to hang out and have a drink and enjoy a fajita taco!
