When I started apartment shopping almost four years ago I had one thing in mind: Safety! Oak Terrace Apartments made my one and only non negotiable priority their priority and then some. Im leaving the state for an extended period of time to adventure and travel but no doubt Oak Terrace will be my first stop when I get back home to Harlingen. Thank you ALL @ Oak Terrace Harlingen for the best, first on-my-own experience ever! Yall are amazing! What an awesome, cooooool, and wonderful Maintenance Crew at Oak Terrace Apartments. Mario, Jesse (Jesus), Leo, Daniel, and the rest of the staff do a wonderful job everyday and always in Maintenance Work at Oak Terrace Apartments. i like it here so much! moved in last year and our lease just ended and we transferred to a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment and the process was so easy and fast. management is really nice and respectful! didn t want to move to a different apartment complex because the neighbors are quiet and everything is calm here. definitely recommend it here!

I wouldnt recommened this place to no one. Theres was things that needed fixing and complaints they never followed through. I had a neighbor that was selfishand inconsiderated toward the othet residents. They dont deserve no stars. The people working in the office ate rude and dont even smile nor sound welcoming.

Moved her in September of last year and was really excited at first but now I can t wait for our lease to be over. The neighbors upstairs have a little kid that runs and stomps like crazy. Sometimes almost all day. My poor dog gets scared and shakes and hides. We ve repeatedly complained and nothing gets done. Had I known that upstairs tenants get more privilege then I would ve moved upstairs.

Office staff here is rude and lazy. They have major turnover with maintenance so it takes forever to get things done. Cheap place to live, complex isnt that bad really, plus theyre remodeling so they can raise the rents even more than they already did over the last 3+ years. This place will serve a purpose for short term, but just be ready for terrible office staff.

The Oak Terrace staff was helpful from beginning to end; it was the first stop on my apartment search throughout the RGV and I came back because it was the best. The extras (walking track, laundry, gym, pool) are always clean and accessible. No complaints about neighbors, very peaceful at night. The gate gave me peace of mind as I travel for work and my wife was alone at times. All around a great place to live.

Horrible place to live charging me extra money for a pet I don t even have will be moving out at end of my contract stupid management they even lost my rent a few months ago and gave me an eviction notice but somehow found it and placed it in my account.. like what is wrong with management..

This is the worst place to live. Ladies at the office think they own the place. I understand things tend to get old and break I understand people have pets and kids and things happen which I take full responsibility but the property manager dont take action on mold issues leaks Rotten but they love to charge for everything..rent rates and all. Dont miss place ur keys folks 35 bucks adds up.. pool hours are only when they work so if u wanna hang at the pool after a long work week tough luck only Monday to Friday 8 to 5 no gym or business center ..

Oak Terrace is a great place to live. I lived here about 12 years ago and liked it so much that when the need for an apartment came up again I would stay nowhere else! The ladies at the management office go out of their way to help out and have made my move in a pleasurable experience. Any issues with my apartment have been dealt with promptly. My children have 2 pools to cool off in on hot summer days and a well maintained playground! im looking forward to playing tennis and basketball with them on the courts as well! Oak Terrace is a great choice!

Just moved in and am very pleased with my move in experience. They showed me different options before moving in and the apartment was very clean. I notified them of lights out and low hanging branches in the jogging trail, and they quickly fixed all the lights and cleaned up the trees. Any problems have been fixed extremely fast. Pool are cleaned, neighbors are friendly, and they continually have people cleaning up and keeping the area clean. I have had no bad experience since moving in. I would recommend this place to my friends and family

I was hesitant due to the reviews. I worked as a leasing agent. Upon approval, the professional way to let a prospective tenant know they are approved is to send them a written letter with information such as: Unit number, rent amount, deposit due, date of move-in, renters insurance if requested, and the lease for the approved tenant to review. Instead, I get a phone call nothing written or guaranteed and a very snappy demand for my deposit. I asked for a floor plan of the Townhome and they sent me a floor plan of a two bedroom not the Townhome, yet they expected me to give them a $400 deposit without even receiving a floor plan or ensure proof of unit number I am applying to be approved. They get so irritated that I wanted to see the proper floor plan or pictures or some form of written knowledge Im approved before I send my deposit in order for me to be assured that when I move out there Im going to have a place to stay. I could tell they wanted obedience and compliance without being professional or fair. Next thing I know, within less than two days, they tell me they already leased out my unit to someone else even though I was approved because they didnt receive my deposit, which I sent once they actually gave me more secured proof I would have a home when I make my way out there with all my belongings. I have never dealt with any apartments that want a deposit upfront without any written proof or proper floor plan. I have the money. Im not poor with bad credit, yet I think since I didnt give them the deposit when they wanted me to give them the deposit, they decided not to assist me in anyway, which is fine because if there were this many issues just to get a proper floor plan, just to get a written approval with the professional information every prospective tenant should have, then upon move-in there would probably be issues as well. I strongly recommend people write them checks instead of money orders because you can always call your bank and void the checks in case they are being very shady people with your deposits. I guess small towns are unprofessional and they have no idea how to do their job properly. Verh disappointed.

This place doesn t maintain with maintenance in the interior, so don t get fooled by the cleaned exterior. I had posted pictures of the interior with mold and damage but pictures where removed.

My partner and I were considering renting a town home at this location and were rather excited about the possibility of making this area home to us. However, I went this morning to try and see a unit and was greeted rather rudely by the woman running the office, I advised her that I was interested in seeing a unit and all she could say was you can go see it, its open. There was no offer to escort me, or to give me any specifics on the property. I drove to the location to at least give it a look and the door was locked and I was not able to see it. The atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming and I was extremely let down by the overall experience. We will no longer be considering a unit at this location and I am beginning to understand some of the other reviews that have been left about the lack of courtesy and unprofessionalism when it comes to staff.

Oak terrace apartments are badly maintained ,they need to rebuild the trial to run, repaint the apartments ,and the trees and grass are literally dead . The park is a bad place to relax and have fun , the play ground is very unsafe for kids and so is the basketball court among with the cook out area. I hope to see them work on the apartments , they really need attention .

Management is unprofessional!!!!! I ve reported them to the better business Bureau!!! I never signed a lease & they refuse to give me my deposit back. I never got proof of a approval either. I was just told that they re requesting a double deposit & I requested proof of it Elizabeth the manager couldn t show me proof jus tells me idk I don t have to show you anything. Very unprofessional!!! This is theft I ve made a police report already as well how can an office keep someone s hardworking 300.00

The worst renting experience Ive ever had! I lived in apartment L5 which has a plumbing issue. My apartment had sewage all over the restroom floors which eventually made its way under the carpet. Management there does not care for there residents enough. Even them knowing that the plumbing line has to be dug up and fixed they still sent us a contract to resign the lease, instead of having the issue fixed, and the rent was going up thirty dollars. I was also towed when the road was getting painted over. The manager did not even know that in the contract it states if road fixtures are being conducted your car will be towed by grizzly towing company. She had to find that out by calling grizzly. DO NOT RENT HERE!

My husband and I are happy with our decision to live here. The environment is family friendly, and we are pleased with the upgrades Oak Terrace is making such as the gated entrance and exit. Maintenance is on top of things, and Elizabeth in the office is very helpful and friendly. Happy with our decision to move here.

A great place to call Home . The Oak Terrace Apartments are under new management and I am very impressed with all the changes that have been made to the property. We have two nice functioning pools with barbecue pits, a new fitness center, business center which includes two functioning computers and free WiFi inside, a new laundry facility and a new playground set for the children. The property and the amenities are always kept clean. The maintenance crew is on top of things and get the job done. The Apartments are pet friendly and include pet friendly areas throughout the complex. The apartment complex is now a gated community with 24/7 security cameras, keeping all tenants safe. The Oak Terrace Apartment s also added two courtesy officer s who patrol throughout the day/night, making sure the tenants are safe. The property managers are very helpful, friendly and always ready to help you with anything you need. The Oak Terrace apartments are in a great location with everything you might need close by. I highly recommend this place to anyone in search of a place to call home.

My family and I have lived at Oak Terrace for the past 4yrs and we absolutely Love it here. We ve had new management and staff come in and do some really Great things to the complex like adding a workout room, office room, dog friendly areas and upgrades to apartment complex. Very Family and young professionals oriented. Great office and maintenance staff that are super friendly and able to help with anything you may need. Great neighbors as well along with a location with everything you need close by. If you don t live here yet you should.

Ive lived in Oak Terrace Apartments for a year now. Ive had no complaints. The ladies in the office worked with me to get all my information since I didnt live here I was in a different city, and I was able to email and mail my information until I was approved. Elizabeth is always very helpful. If I ever need something fixed they are on top of it. I love the laundry room, gym and business center. I dont know how many times theyve come in handy. I recommend these apartments.

I moved in a year ago and have loved it ever since. The reviews previously left from the past Do Not reflect the current state of the complex. We have a brand new laundry room, weight room, business center, and a new rainbow playset. Oak Terrace never previously had a weight room or business center which is a huge plus! The front office is great, maintenance personnel is responsive, and my neighbors are awesome. Thank you to the new owners and management team keep up the hard work!

I have lived at Oak Terrace for the past 2 years and I simply love it! I came aboard to the property when it was privately owned but with the new management in place things have gotten so much better! We have two functioning pools, fitness center, business center, laundry facility. The amenities are always clean. The maintenance crew is on top of things and get their job done. The Property Managers Elizabeth and Nancy are friendly and efficient. The apartment complex is now a gated community and all resident feel safer.

Im changing my review because the new owners have done some serious improvements. We have a gym and a working laundry room now. And a computer room. I dont use them, but theyre there. I would give five stars if I could get my unit updated. Ive paid my rent forward for the entire year, so Id love to have wiring that isnt twitchy and better plumbing. The carpet was installed poorly and the walls look dirty because they need new paint. My dishwasher was broken when I moved in and has never been replaced. Im sure theyll update when I leave, but Im living in a bad unit until then.

This place is horrible!!!! Do not move here!!!!! We moved out and we did a walk through and the manager said everything looked good. We received a call a few days later telling us our carpet smelled like feces in both the living room and bedroom. First of all my dogs dont poop in the house. 2nd of all she said nothing during the walk through. 3rd of all, does she mean to tell me she got on her hands and knees to sniff every inch of the carpet. She told me the carpet people told her it smelled like feces and she believed them. Case in point: she took our deposit and she wants $460 to replace the Entire units carpet!!!!!! We were in apartment 207 where the neighbors banged around and made noise all night long. We told the manager and she laughed at us and did nothing. Do not move here!!!!!!

What they dont tell you is that you will be bilked out of all or part of your security deposit regardless of how you leave your apartment. There is no respect here for the Texas Property Code. I waited over 50 days to get my security deposit returned only to discover that 39% of it missing. Id been told that I would have my security deposit returned in 2 to 3 weeks when I turned in my keys. Nothing was said about a deduction. It would have made no sense, since I left the place in better shape than it was when I moved in. There are better places to live. Apart from the deposit scam, the apartments are getting old and in need of repair and the plants and lawn is not taken care of. The laundry room is horrid. Half the machines dont work and the dryers dont dry.

TEN STARS********** For the year that I was at this property, I loved it. The management was the BEST. The grounds are kept beautiful. The neighborhood is full of friendly diverse people. The track is great for running and walking when you do not feel like going too far. There is a beautiful nature trail across the street. The pools are well cleaned and pool area maintained. You just want to lay out all day in this place. The apartments are SOOOOOO spacious. I have since moved to Dallas and I miss the spaciousness of my Oak Terrace Apartment. They are clean, rodent and pest free apartments. The maintenance and management responds to requests promptly. After staying in a horrible complex (Park Place Apartments, formally known as Riverview on 1325 Sunshine Strip), I was pretty much ready to move anywhere. But Oak Terrace made me like Harlingen and south Texas. It made me enjoy being in my own place. I loved it. If I move back to the area, I know where I will be applying first.

These were my very first apartments and I lived here for 9 months and my experience here was the best! The office staff is very friendly and very helpful. They have the maintenance crew on top of everything in case anything needs fixing, they always keep the pool, play area, tennis court and parking lots clean. Everything is great here I would really recommend it to anyone. I would move back here if I had to.

Very nice property with a pond, 2 swimming pools, 0.3 miles long walking path and a tennis/soccer court. Pond could be better illuminated at night but besides that, the property is very nice and reasonably priced.

Great place to live economically. Management has an amazing staff that quickly fix problems and keep the grounds looking good. Two average sized pools and lit basketball and tennis courts add a lot to the amenities on the complex.

I love our new home at Oak Terrace! Evette is great! When we needed maintenance to replace/fix garbage disposal (since it didnt work when we moved in), we just let them know and their guy was out within a couple hours and the part was ordered and he fixed it the next day. Im telling you, this place is like an extended vacation with the palm trees, swimming pools, and really nice apartments! Im so happy we did our homework. I dont think anywhere in Harlingen could be better...especially for the price!
