Drove all the way out there today with my daughters, granddaughter and her boyfriend for my husband for Fathers day and the lake was closed. It would have been nice if the page would have notified everyone that there was a temporary closure for flooding. Thank you Dana Peak and Stillhouse park for the non-notifications.

My daughter and I love to come hiking here, especially on the trail that leads straight to the water. It s actually one of our shortest and easiest hikes, which is probably why she likes it. Dog-friendliness: People bring their dogs whether they re allowed there or not I don t know.

Really neat trail. About 2.5 miles from the parking lot to the boat launch. But there is little shade and no benches along the trail. Make sure you bring water! There are some uneven spots on the trail that were created by rain.

Good lake access. The rv sites are fairly level and easy to get into. Hook ups are in good condition. Restrooms are usually clean. It can get crowded on holiday weekends, so reserve ahead of time. Gave it 4 stars because they needed more trees .....please.... Was getting 4 bars on Verizon. OTA TV stations strong. Lake level is still low low Be careful boating. Lots of debris and shallow rocky areas.

We really had fun camping here. I recommend getting ant repellent spray. There s water as well as electricity. You can enjoy playing volleyball, fishing, swimming, and flying kites. Best thing is there s a gas station 10 mins drive away in case you need to buy some drink, ice, or firewood. Playground: Enough space to play soccer and volleyball. Toilets: Clean. I recommend carrying extra toilet paper and hand wash/ hand sanitizer. Picnic area: Nice place with benches and shade.

Beautiful lakeside park with decent amenities. Definitely a great place to go for a picnic with a view of the lake. The only reason I m not leaving 5 stars is because there s a lack of trash cans in the picnic table area and there s a lot of broken glass in the beach area.

Playground: Cool place, but people are leaving broken glass bottles on the floor which is hazardous to the public. People should be aware to properly dispose of their glass bottles after usage, or using plastic containers instead.

Nice level spots for campers. They had to do some rebuild after the flooding a few years back. Sadly, the drought has the water really low, and the swim area is closed because of it. They just need to rebuild playscape now. Nice thing about COE parks is you are not typically on top of your neighbors and the rate is really cheap. I just hope maybe they can take advantage of the low water and take the trash out.

I can t think of any place that is going to issue a citation for having a toy car on the grass...yup you read it right....I got cited for allegedly operating a motor vehicle off authorized roadway! It s a freaking power wheel. So if you are going to visit this place look out for park ranger Sean Jones and read up federal park rules and regulations title 36 because that ranger couldn t even articulate to me what he was citing me for. I ll will post an update and give the outcome in court .update my day in court came and it was dismissed. They still gave me 3 months probation, however if I did it again I would be fined and not allowed back to the park. So be careful if you re disabled on any scooter or motorized vehicle, ranger jones will ticket you for being off the roadway.

Camp Host and Ranger were very nice...I do have one bone to pick...well...maybe 2. The tent sites were the furthest from the bathrooms/showers (people who really needed them)...but the RV sites had arbors....real close to facilities (why? RVs have bathrooms and awnings). No shade whatsoever for tent campers. Then...someone was in our assigned campsite...rangers gathered his belongings and moved them next door (after we volunteered to move), causing the guy to be irate...and idled his truck and shined his lights in our camp for hours. Tried to talk to him...he just locked his doors and ignored us...3 hours later had to get the ranger. All could have been avoided had we just taken the site they moved him to.

But it s a very maintained park, we loved the white rocky hiking trail and the plants here. It has water, mountain and shade. There aren t too many sign and a visitor center, they could use more signs, we weren t so sure where to go. But glad we have all trail, did a short but lovely walk
