About the Company
rating: 4.6
In our modern day culture of immediacy and convenience where chain restaurants, fast food and instant gratification are the norm, we find ourselves craving the out of the ordinary, the unique, the thoughtful destination. We want to feel adventurous and be treated special. And at HERE we aim to do just that. The lounge, owned by Julie Doyle — co-founder/manager of musical groups Tripping Daisy, The Polyphonic Spree, and local fave store, Good Records (next door), promises to whisk guests away into another place and time. The decor at HERE is inviting and chic: casual enough for your post work happy hour and yet dapper enough to channel your inner mad men cocktail party. The room features a large photo mural by Rainer Judd.

I went here for a nightcap on my 30th birthday, and sat at the bar with friends. The bartenders were FANTASTIC! So easy going and full of humor, and the drinks were great too. They showed me different kinds of liquor I haven t heard of and educated me on them. I didn t get any food but plan on it next time!

Ive gone here about 5 times now and every appetizer Ive had has been delicious! The highlight is tied between the refreshing cocktails and the environment. If youve never been, its totally unexpected. Its hard to find but thats what makes it even more special. A hidden treasure in its shipping center. The service is usually good but there was one day that the service was not Great....and luckily I had been there before to know this was unusual.

Such a great hidden gem. From the outside youd never know what was inside. A beautiful, fun space with an amazing swooping wood wall, the atmosphere is perfect for date night. Drink wise everything was solidly done. Its all a riff on well known standards, but the two I tried were great. The food was top notch. Their burger juicy and unique, the Caeser salad had a great southern twist, and the deviled eggs were the perfect spicy. Dessert too was well done. Were not local and cant return, but this would easily become a standard go to if I were.

Lounge Here used to share a unique ambiance of class and coolness. After giving the establishment three opportunities of recent, the quality of food has declined significantly over the past year. The present Bartender/Manager dresses seedy and makes excuses for the failures of barbacks and other employees. For a place which surely had credit with wonderful jazz music, creative menu and cocktails, it poses a lackluster experience yet to come. Recommend the owner revisits the staff s manners and food quality.

Loved it!! Dinner here tonight. Six mature ladies, drinks, appetizers and dinner. We did not request separate checks, initially, but the waitress asked at the end of our meal if we wanted that. Not only done , but quickly and accurately and without attitude!! Food excellent! Deviled eggs were spicy but so full of flavor! Pimento cheese with potato chip.. so good! I had mussels. The broth was spicy and satisfying. Girlfriend had arugula and shrimp salad which she raved about! Cocktails well made and not stupid expensive! I highly recommend!! Everyone came away happy!

Usually a really good experience. Food and drinks are always good. Servers are attentive but not pushy. Recently though I had a reservation and when I arrived (a couple minutes early mind you) there wasnt a table for us and we were told it was going to be a 30 minute wait. I understand there will be an occasional wait especially on a walk-in, but with a reservation a 30 min wait makes for a frustrating experience. We decided on another neighborhood spot.

Very cool vibe and atmosphere but gets very loud very quick in such a small space. The drinks were subpar with the grandmas cookie and Davy jones locker being mostly ice. Got the mushroom appetizer which would have been better if the sauce had any flavor, leaving it very tasteless. Burger Here and Lemongrass Chicken also had very little flavor, so most of the meal had little taste. Very pricey.

The Great: Great atmosphere! Great appetizers! Okay main courses! The Not Great: I felt like what I wanted to say was too demanding so I looked at other reviews and came across this Bar service was a little slow at times for such a small dining room. Very true. For a two top, order four drinks at a time. As a waiter Im happy to get you a beverage because it results in a higher bill and higher tips. Not true here. Youll get your appetizers before you get your first cocktail. Youll get your main courses and one of the two miller lights you ordered. You WILL get your water glass refilled six times but trying to order a drink as they pour water is a bridge too far. I tipped 50 on a 130 tab because everyone has their off nights but DEFINITELY sit at the bar, just order apps and drinks. Dont sit at the tables. Final Thoughts: Great place for a light meal of one or two apps at the bar and a couple of drinks, but dont go for a sit down meal, a double date, or bring family. For such a small dining room they cant comfortably serve you. Still a great gem, just go in knowing their limits.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem by chance, and from the moment I walked in, I knew I had discovered something truly special. The atmosphere exudes a captivating 60s speakeasy lounge vibe, making it an incredibly cool and unique space. Now, lets talk about the food it was nothing short of exceptional. I couldnt resist trying the chicken fried ribeye with its irresistible duck fat gravy, and it left me wanting to savor every last drop. My girlfriends mushroom ragú was equally outstanding. The drinks menu impressed me as well, with a well-crafted cocktail selection and an affordable whiskey list. In particular, the value of Eagle Rare at just $12 a pour caught my attention. Not to be overlooked are the appetizers; the fried green tomatoes were the perfect start to our meal. And dessert? The flourless chocolate cake with homemade whipped cream was a flawless 10/10. What truly surprised me was the affordability of it all. In an era where dining out can break the bank, this place offers incredible value for such a unique experience. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to visit this hidden gem and experience its magic for themselves.

Once we sat down, it took them 15 minutes just to take our drink order. One drink came out 8 minutes later and it took 20 minutes for the mimosa to come out. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The food was delicious, but we were starving by the time it arrived. They also have a DJ in the front of the restaurant who is constantly BLASTING music. I don t want to have to yell at brunch just to be heard. I know they re trying to make it a cool lounge vibe, but the music needs to be turned down so people can actually talk to each other.

What a beautiful hidden gem! We had Brendon as a waiter and despite the packed house we were very well taken care of. My party of 6 were nestled in the corner booth and Poppy Xander was playing piano for the Sunday brunch crowd. Shes so sweet and said hi to everyone (on one of her breaks) to make sure people were enjoying their day. An amazing pianist so be sure to catch her here! Its incredibly elegant inside and theres a cozy patio out back. The front has minimal signage and parking is tricky, but so worth it. Well be back and Im bringing more friends!

The vibe/ the service/ and the food is amazing. What a cool hidden area that truly opens up when you go inside. There is nothing on the menu that will upset you, whatever you do order the deviled eggs (coming from someone that doesn t like hard boiled eggs). From start to finish it was truly an amazing experience with our server Travis. Thank you so much!! Definitely will be back for more.

I went yesterday with my dog. The lady that served me was very nice and had the best customer service. She told me the best options and she was on point. I ordered the pimento cheese with ham which was an appetizer on the happy hour menu. However they are very pricey to me and I go out to eat everyday. I ordered an 1 appetizer and 2 cocktail drinks which came out to $50. I just keep that in mind they are expensive and the menu is limited by the hour and season of the year

The Lounge Here is hidden gem! Located on the Far East side of Dallas. Feels like you are moving away from all the nice places and around the entrance of a sketchy location & when you open the door, there it is all in its hidden glory, like you are entering a magic hideout. Beautiful designed restaurant & great ambience. Service was outstanding. Extremely friendly & courteous staff. Snacks were definitely good, as we were there for only snacks & drinks. Loved every bit of it. A perfect place for a date night. Anniversary spent well. Will definitely go back. This place tops one of my favourite places. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.

Stellar experience every time. While I do hope for more rotation on the menu, every time I get a dish, its just as good as the time before. Ambiance is full on soft, moody, relaxed. You can come for a nightcap, a hangout or a date night and this place never misses.

Last Friday, my husband and I tried to come in for dinner. But we were greeted by a rude and aggressive hostess. It started with her stopping me while I walking to bar to ask if we enter through the correct entrance. She stopped and said what are you doing? Are you going to bar? Very off putting, especially since she didnt announce who she was. Then she argued with me about me putting our names on the virtual waitlist, resulting in me showing her the text message and email confirmation. After those interactions we decided to leave. She made it very clear we were not welcomed. I emailed the restaurant directly but they didnt respond.

The decor is amazing, menu looks fantastic (I just came here for drinks but I saw the food the staff were delivering) and the place is hard to find which is what makes it so charming. (Just trust Google Maps...there is almost no sign at all.) The biggest thing I struggled with was that it was so loud. Between the music and other tables talking, I couldnt hear my date who was just across the table from me. The place is dark and beautiful so you kind of expect there to be some piano jazz but it was just loud pop music like everywhere else that you had to shout over. I would definitely come back because its so close to me, but I would be careful that I dont care to chat too much about anything important with whomever I bring. Hopefully they can turn it down just a smidge so it feels more like background noise.

Beautiful, swanky vibe, friendly staff, and an INCREDIBLE burger. A great place to visit. The place is small and acoustics are pretty poor, so expect it to get very loud very quickly. If that doesnt bother you, youll be in for a special night.

Unexpected gem. Nice atmosphere and great food. We started with the chicken confete. Had the burger and linguini for the mains and ended with the lemon ice box cake. Everything was paced well, and service was great. Water glasses were kept full. Our booth was right below the air vent so it was very cold and a very strong breeze all through the meal. The place, though fairly small and intimate, was only half full, yet surprisingly noisy. I would recommend going. As most restaurants have really cut back on quality, the plating, prep, and food quality here and high.

The atmosphere is fun and unique with fixtures and a layout not seen in many places; West Texas meets mid century. I had French onion soup which was decent and the crustini was good but there was really no cheese at all (French onion soup needs cheese), and the burger. Unfortunately, the burger lacked flavor entirely other than the bacon that was on it. Not sure how or why they arent seasoning this at all. They do have funky cocktails and craft beer, but the prices are too high for what it is (especially a $17 flavorless burger). I do think it creates an exclusive allure that people will pay more to be a part of.

Reservations are highly suggested. This is the best kept neighborhood secret in Dallas. Only 15 tables and a small bar that produces amazing seasonal dishes. Great cocktail menu, full bar and thoughtful wine list....these people love great meals! I always have the fried chicken confit and pan fried Brussels. Each of us had a different entree- fried ribeye, halibut, shrimp& grits, confit. Our friends had not been here yet and could not stop raving....Lounge Here is the real deal

Swanky, intimate retro spot amongst the sea of concrete Austin lookalike bars in Dallas. Has a nice Mad Men feel, with incredible food & appetizers to boot. Reservations recommended, though walk-in seating is available, as well. Parking available in the back. 10/10 would recommend.

Lounge Here is a hidden restaurant/ bar on the east side of Dallas. The interior is R+D Kitchen meets West Texas- it s one of the better restaurant design and builds I ve been to in a while (I only took a pic of the outside patio, which is also cool). The cocktails are very good, I got a Manhattan and a New York Flip, with the latter stealing the show. The food was excellent and there was something on the menu for all four of us in our party. I got the Chicken Fried Steak and they executed it well. Definitely recommend as a date spot or place to grab late night drinks.
