We ate here a few days ago, Im from out of town. Ive been here before and wasnt going to come back, but was persuaded by my friend. And Im not sure why no one is addressing this, but it literally stinks like old dirty mop/ sewer water? Nasty. Well food was the same..Im vegetarian, all I could taste was the pork grease in the taco I ordered. Service is good, food is mediocre at best. I spent $20+ on a taco plate 1 drink and a tiny breakfast taco, bc thats what it is. Its a taco..a burrito is when you fully wrap your food in a big tortilla. Anyway, its not for me, I would not recommend to vegetarians. Vegetarian options: Not for vegetarians

Please Dont visit this place if you are craving some tacos and a decent cheese gordita, I had to say I had the most disgusting tacos ever, meat was chewy full of far and its supposed to be beef fajita, tortilla was full of oil that it was sooo sleepery and the Gordita I order OMG was so small and it was made of yellow cold sheredded cheese, when I took back my order to the lady that took my order she said thats how gorditas are XD No Way real plain cheese gorditadas are made of white melted cheese, just like pupusas are....and she said well what you want me to do. I SAID I WANT MY MONEY BACK and I wont ever eat at a place like that ewwwww

Bought menudo, 2 dozen tamales, and barbacoa.....lets just say this will be our GOTO PLACE for these types of food. They all had great flavor. Tamales were right on with the amount of meat and a good size, unlike their competitors. Will definitely return to this place!

When we walked in the atmosphere was nice we sat down and waiter came to greet us , brought us chips and salsa then asked what we wanted to drink , the waiter had a smile and a sense of humor he was making us laugh. We ordered our food it didnt take long l got my order it looked so delicious and it tasted just as delicious this is the only mexican restaurant I will be coming to. The owner was just as nice and friendly, polite and funny. The name of the restaurant is Dallas Tamales Cafe in Gran Prairie. Expensive and the extra charge for Credit card is robbery. I knew there was an extra charge for using cards but $5 is way too much, $20 for a menudo, 2 tacos and a horchata. Total was $25. Today 02/09/24 my wife and I had a great brunch, Everything was great and the food was delicious, Only downside with last couple years every time it rains they have a ceiling leak and they closed the center area where they have literally white trays to catch the rain water, These two trays are on top of a table and splashing the other tables around, Also that part of the ceiling Is falling apart has bad mold buildup that got my concern so......... If you dont mind eating while you get splash with Dirty rain water from that issue they got going on Try to concentrate on the flavor of the great food And enjoy it Note: Will be calling the health department for restaurants in Grand prairie area first thing Monday Morning Parking: Parking is very challenging because it is not big enough, During normal busy hours lunch or breakfast time theres hardly any parking spot So you need to wait for someone to leave an open parking spot, Its difficult especially when it is pouring rain that makes it very inconvenient

This restaurant serves the most delicious food. My coworkers and I visited for lunch around 11:30 and it wasnt too busy at that time. The tamales were seasoned so well. The chips and salsa were obviously homemade, so tasty! Someone told me the refried beans were the best in Dallas and I do believe theyre right! The service was friendly and accommodating. The prices were great! We will definitely be back!

Their food is good but I gave 2 stars because every time I go & get tamales they ALWAYS short me, my husband went in & bought 2 dozens today, if Im not mistaken that s 24 tamales, well, one dozen had 10 & the other 11, totaling out to 3 short of our purchase.. a customer shouldn t have to unpack the containers & individually count each tamale.. maybe, slipping with one of them.. but it s almost like they PURPOSELY shorted us.. My husband and I love this place! We drive all the way from Mesquite, TX just to eat the best menudo. Very humble, quiet, affordable, and delicious menudo. Service is always on point! Glad we found this gem.

Here is perfect example of great food from a small neighborhood restaurant. The staff is friendly and the service is fast but more importantly the food is on point. Always great tasting tamelas and love getting a dozen to go home.
