This park is big and spacious. Nevertheless, it will get crowded. The big crowds are usually not too bad. You will find a spot. The exception is the loud speakers. More often than not, you will find speaker battles between guests. Dogs are often without a leash and trash is ever present. If you get lucky and it is not too crowded, this place is peaceful, breezy, and relaxing. Too bad the City of Garland randomly will randomly close the park for long periods of time.

It was a beautiful day to go to the lake. Found this one, and it was good. Next time Ill bring some swimming shoes. The park needs maintenance to trim the grass. Too high. Recommend bringing a canopy for sun shade.

It has been CLOSED ON THE WEEKENDS for yrs!!! Like WHY?!?!? People that live in the community near by (iam less then a mile from here) cant even enjoy it on the weekends we are home. Unless you live in the Rich Area on the shoreline. They just walk down, no worries about the gates. OPEN IT BACK UP ON THE WEEKENDS SO WE CALL ALL ENJOY WHAT OUR PROPERTY TAXES PAY FOR!

Giving this 3 stars out of 5. This is a very nice park, when its opened. As someone commented previously this park is closed at 12pm on Friday and doesnt re-open until 6am on Monday. Its a shame this place isnt opened on the weekend. I went once on a Thursday morning to take my dog swimming. The park is very clean, plenty of beach space and nice spots to swim and cool down from this hot Texas heat. I really hope the city of Garland changes their minds and opens this on the weekends. I wouldnt mind paying to get into this park, similar to places like Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake.

An alright place to swim. Im really upset with todays experience however. I came around 11am and there are 6 dogs unleashed. I put my things down and get in the water, 2 untrained, unleashed bull terriers start rummaging through my things. I really hate the fact so many people unleash their invasive dogs around here. It makes for an uncomfortable experience.

The city of Garland, city council, gaggle of commie maggots, call it what you want. What theyre trying, and so far succeeding at doing is shameful, it borders on illegal whether they passed a resolution or not, AND THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF GARLAND, TX SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN! Those control freaks who sit on the city council will do whatever you allow them to do. They cannot do what you tell them NOT to do. SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, GET OFF YOUR A** AND FIGHT FOR WHAT IS YOURS, NOT THEIRS! Geez.... Im pretty sure Ive said it before, but Ill say it again: This is a grab! Somebody with enough money to influence the city council members and the mayor is shutting down Windsurf Bay Park... FOR GOOD. Think Im dreaming this up? Just take a ganders over to the mess theyve commandeered at I-30 and Dalrock Rd. There was a time when that space over there was good for a Saturday splash with the dog... until some corporate goons decided they could make a buck if they bought off the city council. Is EVERYBODY in Dallas County asleep?? One day, you or your children will ask, why do THOSE people get to decide who can walk up to the lake? Why cant we just go play in the lake if we want to? If youre honest, youll tell them the truth. Which is WE WERE TOO BUSY TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT AGENDA 21 (essentially) WAS STEALING FROM ALL OF US. Edited 4/25/23: Closed AGAIN this weekend! Who closes a public park on the weekend? Moreover, who uses 8 ft fencing and concertina wire to close a public park on the weekend????

I posted a review a few days ago about the addition of the fence to the edge of the water. I went back today hoping there were still openings in the fence but saw there are no swimming , no loud music signs. HOWEVER, people with access to boats parked their boats directly on the shore, swam, and played loud music. It s unfortunate that access to the water is only for those that can afford to break the rules.

This was such a wonderful activity for me and my two small children for the past 4 years... Sadly, we found out today there is a huge tall fence blocking all access to the water throughout windsurf property. This was the one thing we looked forward to doing and enjoy as a family. Hope the community access to the swimming area will be an option in the future. If anyone knows of an alternative place to access swimming at lake Ray Hubbard, let me know!!!

I used to really love and enjoy Windsurf Bay, I ve gone to it for over 20 years but I am deeply disappointed in the fence that s been added to the edge of the shore. The fence only has three openings to it which I also feel like is a safety hazard when large numbers of people gather near the water. I hope this fence is removed so that the community can enjoy the park and the water.

Nice spacious area, easy to find a spot to setup your picnic. This park does include: - Kids playground - Bbq grills - plenty of space and trees for lounging - Lots of parking ( gravel and grass ) This park doesnt have : - Boat ramp - Restrooms or porta potty - Street lights, so it gets pretty dark Be aware to drive slow after it rains, the road isnt paved, so the rain can create uneven terrain and a bumpy ride, however you will still be a able to drive on it with any car as long as you take caution. This is the only improvement I would highly suggest for the development of this park
