My family and I went to Salt n pepper kitchen to enjoy some Nigerian dishes. The meals we ordered were delicious and the portions were quite large and very filling. I ordered the Amala & Meat Okro while others ordered Abula and Amala & Ogbono! The obstacles in all the soups were tenderly cooked, so good and easy to chew. With things like cowleg sometimes I get worried it might not get cooked soft enough but in this case, it was cooked real well. We will definitely be back to enjoy more of their meals!

I ordered my meal online. When I got there, most of the staff was in the dining room talking to customers. I was OK with that. However no one greeted me. The young lady did finally recognize me and went to get my order. Once she packaged my order, she said that the gentleman that was in the dining room speaking to customers would check me out. The lady proceeded to go over to the young man and told him I was ready to be checked out. He turned around, looked at me, rolled his eyes and looked back at the customer he was talking to. He proceeded to talk to this customer for five more minutes and then decided to finally come and check me out. Overall, the customer service was horrible and the food was just OK.

Came here with my friend to try the amala and abula. It was sensational! I had abula with goat meat and she had the tilapia with Jollof. Everything tasted so good! My friend ranked her meal 9/10. And I ranked mine 9.5/10 because it was that good! None of us are Nigerian so we did find the meals a bit spicy but nothing that s too spicy to not be able to enjoy the meal. Service was decent too. I will definitely be coming here everytime I m in Dallas.

Grossly overated! Music was so loud like it was like a club or hang out joint. Waited 1 hour for our meal and when it arrived they got it wrong. The waiter probably didnt hear due to the loud music. We didnt get served water and were told we were Supposed to order it. We were not asked what were wanted to drink and most restaurants in the price range would serve you water(even warm bread or chips and salsa while you wait) unless you specifically declined that service. So for two plates of Amala that didnt include beaf and goat meat(Kpomo was $6 extra) with a $90+ tab, not worth it.

My boyfriend and I went to Salt and Pepper this evening with a large group of friends. First things first, the server accommodated our large party almost immediately when he saw us trying to arrange tables to fit everyone. He brought out an extra large table, linens, and rest the chairs. To the server, thank you so much for your kindness and patience, I really appreciate it! I ordered the White Rice and Beans with Ayamase stew & plantain while my boyfriend got the Efo Elegusi Soup. I ordered my dish based off a good friends recommendation. The dish was good but far too spicy for me. It has a lot of flavor combinations you can make with all the elements on the plate. The meat within the stew was very good! The Elegusi my boyfriend ordered was amazing! He says this was the best Elegusi he s had and I agree. It was the perfect amount of spice, the beef was tender, and the pounded yam was also the perfect consistency. We shared one another s dishes and enjoyed them both equally. Our meals combined totaled to about $53 before tip. This restaurant has a very large menu with a wide range of dishes to choose from. I highly recommend trying this location out if looking for some great authentic African food. Hope this helps!

I ordered Pepper soup with goat meat or assorted meat. I specifically requested goat meat in my order, though. The pepper soup was way to spicy and detracted from the flavor. It was difficult to enjoy the soup. I have had a lot of pepper soup, so I know that you want to make it spicy but still able to enjoy the flavors and seasoning. I was also disappointed in the amount of soup for $20 especially if it wasn t guaranteed I would get goat meat. Then I ordered a side of goat meat and was shocked to learn from the restaurant that a side order of goat meat meant 1 piece of goat meat. This is daylight robbery. But the 1 piece of goat meat I got from my side order was delicious! Overall it was an okay meal. I ordered this all from Uber Eats.

I may spell the gentlemen s name wrong please forgive me . CUSTOMER SERVICE : We came in today and Ateff was an AMAZING server . Very polite , patient , and took time to explain each dish that we inquired about . We are new comers and as soon as we stepped in the door Ateff welcomed us in . FOOD : The Food was absolutely amazing! We usually go to African Village in Irving but this by far was the best experience. If I could change one thing it would be to add Eru Soup and maybe desserts but even without those 2 things I d still give it a 5/5 review . The Food was absolutely fresh , flavorful, and made to perfection . I got the Egusi with Assorted meat extra Goat . ATMOSPHERE: it s more for a nice date for adults. The place was packed and we only seen 4 children. Even with all the tables full we got our meal in a timely matter (15 minute wait) They have a Great Music selection, This spot is very laid back - No rambunctious behavior , it s a very chill vibe from both the customers and employees. OVERALL: when I go to restaurants I m not easily pleased with all three : Food , atmosphere, and service but this place has it all . I will be back and thank you Ateff for the Good service

If you want that authentic Nigerian taste in Dallas, this is definitely the place to go. I and my friends drove miles just to for real Nigerian food and we were not disappointed. The abula was fire! Egusi, efo riro, ofada stew...all nice. The portions are small compared to most places I know or where I come from. So keep that in mind... Im not a fan of the ambience, but the food makes up for it. Definitely!

I had the abula and it was really good. I didnt care for the tough meat which seems to be a norm per the other reviews I read (needs major improvement, I dont care to fight with my meat). My cousin requested for the seafood Okra and she was initially told that they were out and then when she requested a menu to search for something else, all of a sudden, it became available. Took 40 minutes to cook seafood Okra which is unbelievable. Tops, should be 20 minutes. By the time she got it, it was warm. Nonetheless, she enjoyed the seafood Okra. Seasoned right and spicy how she likes it. My daughter got the jollof rice which took quite a while to cook as well and the rice had all the right spices and seasonings but it was undercooked. The beef was tough too. My other cousin had the ayamase and she seemed to pleased all around with her food. Ill give them a try again but the owner needs to improve the timing of delivery of food and also address the tough meat situation.

Initially I heard this was a very good place to eat and on a scale of 1 to 10 I want to give it about five simply because it was flavorful but salty in a sense also it was a bit pricey for the serving amount that I received I ordered the egusi soup and I only received maybe half of my order it seems like they didn t fill up the container it was a very small portion also they did not give me what I ordered I asked for goat with egusi and I received assorted meat with my egusi soup and it was only one piece of meat actually in the entire order everything else was meat cartilage very tuff meat i didnt enjoy this at all i wish they would paired attention to my order because i love African food

I would give negative stars if I could. I ordered half pan of designer stew. When I walked into the restaurant for pickup, they acted like my order was never placed and wasnt paid for. It wasnt well packed so most of it leaked in the car before I got home. Also, the assorted meat was salty. Shame on yall. Customer service sucks all the way; staff always feel the need to be rude. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone and will never order too.

This food is terrible. I am upset. I drove 35 to go pick up this food. I recently moved to Dallas, and I asked people to give me a recommendation for Nigerian food, and they mentioned this place. I got the Ewa agoin and ofado rice. The Ewa agoin was very salty, and there was not even enough fried stew or beef on it. The ofado rice was just okay, with not much flavor.

My daughter ordered for Abula, ewedu, gbegiri, hot amala with fresh fish. Ofada rice, dodo, boiled eggs, yoruba stew with assorted meat, and Egusi all beef. The food was very tasty just like in Nijia. This was the best so far compared to what have been buying from other restaurants. The delivery time was very accurate. I will buy again. Salt N Pepper kitchen you are the best.
