The atmosphere was lovely, we were seated in an area that had a beautiful view of the beach. Our waitress was amazing! They also have a store with lots of goodies, clothes for children and adults. All employees were friendly and welcoming. Kid-friendliness: Atmosphere is great for kids, tables and chairs are perfect height. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on the first floor, and ramps are everywhere. Its a specious building and they have an elevator to go to the 2nd floor as well.

Unexpected lunch date with my wife. The theme was right on with the movie forest Gump but the food was so fresh. We were happy with the chicken and pickles appetizer, I got the Asian dish and ribs, slaw and white rice and my wife got fish and chips (fries). We were very pleased with our meal!

I had a fantastic dining experience at Bubba Gump on Seawall Boulevard! The location is perfect with a beautiful view of the beach, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed throughout my meal. The seafood was fresh and flavorful I especially enjoyed the shrimp and mahi mahi. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The portion sizes were generous, and the menu had something for everyone. If youre looking for a great place to enjoy delicious seafood with a laid-back vibe, Bubba Gump is definitely the spot to visit in Galveston!

Horrible service, my sister n law made reservations 2 weeks in advance, because we were coming to Texas. It was very busy this was expected, but the poor service was not. We waited over an hour for our food, during the wait our server came to the table and did a silly trivia game with us, but still no food about 20 minutes later she asked if we were okay? I spoke up and said no, and asked about the food, at this time my brother n law ordered some appetizers, when they were brought to us another server sits them on the table without any plates which were required. So we continue to wait, at this time Im keeping my composure, one of the restaurant managers ask if we were okay. I said no then she explained the kitchen was backed up. Well thats all fine and well, but you all could offer more appetizers, but didnt, by this time Im irritated, because I notice other people were receiving their food. I know this is relative, but I could see if our orders were difficult. I walked out while my husband, his sister and bother n law stayed. I asked, how much longer was the wait after I left out, and was told 15 minutes. I asked if the food was worth the wait, and was told the steak was terrible and burnt. I wasnt there so I cant give qn opinion about the food. This place needs to train their serving staff better, and run their kitchen more efficiently. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I do not recommend this location. If you want to enjoy your stay in Texas and want good food, bypass this place.

The visit started off great. We were outside and we could see the beach. It started raining so we went inside. I ordered salmon with broccoli and I swapped out the rice for mashed potatoes, well so I thought. When the food came out I had the rice but I didn t mind, I m not one to send food back so I said nothing. Broccoli looked great so I started with that. The first floret had a black looking thing on it. I put it to the side and said I m not eating that one. The next floret had a caterpillar on it, it was dead. So I touched the broccoli, it was cold. Instantly I was disgusted. I couldn t eat anymore. We let the waitress know. The manager came over immediately and apologized and said they could get a fresh plate for me or something else, however, I was too disgusted I didn t want anything. We got our check and left after that. Still don t know if it wasn t washed or if it was just put on my plate and not cooked. Either way I wouldn t eat here again. I was completely turned off. I will say the two other people I was dining with didn t have issues with their meals but they also didn t want to finish their meals after they saw the caterpillar. They didn t charge me for my order so that was fair. I would just say inspect your food before consuming. Good luck!

I ve always loved coming to Bubble Gum, especially because of the nice ambiance by the water. However, I feel like the quality has gone down a bit in recent years. Yesterday, we ordered an appetizer, but the dip was cold and not very tasty. Our main dishes were also disappointing; the salmon was dry, and the mahi-mahi lacked seasoning. I m not sure if it was because it was a busy weekend, but this wasn t the experience we re used to. We ve come here many times and usually enjoy it, so I hope it was just an off day. They also forgot to bring us another dip as they said they would when they took the cold one.

Hadnt been here in many years. This was the worst possible visit. The server was good, once she arrived. The appetizer sampler was a mess. The dip was terrible and the shrimp overcooked. We had already ordered three shrimp meals, all of which were overcooked and greasy. The chicken tender salad was late, and cold. We asked to see a manager, but waited nearly 15 minutes before one came. By that time, we were done. We paid for the drinks and left the food in the table. The restaurant wasnt understaffed, but it was a Labor Day Saturday, so they were busy. Still, no excuse to send out so much sub-par food. This has ruined me on BGSC, and maybe Landrys restaurants overall.

The signature strawberry salad had cold dry shredded rotisserie like chicken, not grilled, as you would expect from the menu stating grilled chicken. The replacement side garden salad was half brown and wilted lettuce. The bang bang shrimp was ok. The shrimp and lobster rolls were saucy and had limited shrimp meh. Our server was sincere and helpful until we asked for the salad to be removed that we did not eat. She said she would pay for the salad herself and refused to get the manager when asked. She did nothing wrong. The food was sub-par at best. It all seems a little fishy to me. They are a flash in the pan hasbeen now. And are probably not up to mamas standards. Would not recommend it unless you only want to get a beer with the souvenir take-home cup.

Wow. My family and I came down from another state and decided this should be a great place to eat and enjoy ourselves! We were alllll the way wrong. First off, we get told 20 minutes wait - 40 minutes later we were sat. Which is fine, hard to predict when people will leave your facility. No problem. We get to the second floor where we were told to go, and the host told us our table was outside - mind you - we have been at the beach all day. It was hot. We asked if there was any way we could have indoor seating, to which he responds They asked you that when you made the reservation - which they absolutely did not. We stated we would really like to seat indoors as we had 2 babies and 2 pregnant women. The host smirked and said Well it s really not that bad outside . WOW! What customer service. We are flabbergasted that he even would make such a comment but said ok, whatever. We ve waited this long anyway. We get seated and the waitress comes and gets our drink order and appetizer order. We get our drinks and our appetizers in a decent amount of time. After this, we were completely forgotten about and disregarded. An HOUR & 15 minutes later (with ONE single drink refilled) our food comes out. Obviously cold, and not correct. Bonus: we never even got silverware. So the waitress said she would get a manager to help correct the order. Alex, was his name. What a poor excuse of a manager. He comes out, listens to our concerns and complaints and tells us he will get it fixed right now, and he will have the waitress(who was standing right there) get us some more drinks as our drinks were all melted and warm. He would personally take care of us. Wellllllll, the 40 minutes it takes us to tell them to bring him back since he had not arrived back at our table - the waitress brings other tables more drinks and serves them, to not even look our direction. I am pregnant, hot, hungry, and getting very frustrated at this point. We are not the people to complain or not understand what they endure day to day but this was absolutely ridiculous. We finally get to ask someone to go get the manager. Our waitress proceeded to go to the table of customers next to us and run her mouth about how we don t understand or consider what her job is and continued to laugh about the situation with our table. Clear as day can hear this conversation. She proceeds to our table a little while later, and we mention our frustrations with the drinks, and mention how we heard her unprofessional conversation with the table near us about how that was not okay. She calls us liars, and wow! Alex finally arrives back at our table. At that point, we are PISSED. My babies have fallen asleep because we ve been there 2 hours with no entrees and it s hot. Said he had to have time to fix the issue which he realllly did not do. Not an ounce. Not one person in this establishment told us sorry, or they understand. They absolutely did NOT care about my family or the fact we got seafood on a plate that should have NEVER had seafood on it. Then tried to charge us for that seafood as 3x extra when it was not touched nor was that ordered. Hands down, the WORST experience I ve EVER had at ANY food establishment. We still walked out of there paying $100 for food that we did not eat. Whoever runs this place, WOW, JUST WOW!

Save your money and dont go here. Im a Galveston local and had friends in from out of town. Along with all of our kids. Our waiter couldnt understand English so we had to point at everything on the menu. So any changes we asked for in our food wasnt made cause we couldnt point at it. Half the kids drinks werent brought till long after appetizers arrived plus no silverware. And my friends drink smelled like seafood bad. Half of the kids meals werent brought out till we were basically done and ready to leave. The food portions were very small. Paid $26 for a meal and left hungry. My friend ordered crab which was way over cooked and the manager told him 3 times shed bring crab crackers but never did. When I approached the manager about it all she did was bring more silverware. When I approached her again about us not having drinks or parts of the meal she switched out server. New server said hed comp some of our tickets but the manager brought our ticket and never comped anything.. when I asked her about it she very rudely insinuated I was just trying to get something comped.. horrible wait staff and even worse management. If you want good service and good seafood that will actually fill you up, stick with Katies.. I shouldve known better Ill go to McDonalds before going back here... Horrible

We went on Aug 2nd the restaurant was packed and they told us it was a 30 min wait or to eat outside. We decided to wait, we got seated at 7:36pm. 15 min had passed by when the manager came by and asked us if our waiter had come by to which we mentioned no she then told us she will go grab him/her. A couple of mins pass and our waiter shows up and starts taking our drink order. -we order a coke, sweet tea, a beer, a frozen margarita, and two of their non alcoholic specialty drinks. Well it took over 20 mins for all of us to get our drink and in the process somehow the waiter gave an alcoholic drink to a minor! We place the orders for the food and waited, the manager came back around ask us how we are doing to which we mentioned it had been way over 45min to get our food to which she informed us that the kitchen was behind and asked us if we needed refills, we say yes since our waiter hadn t check on us since he took our order! Food gets delivered and guess what no silverware, then the waiter again disappears until it s check time. We asked if we could split the check in 2 separate cards to which he said no because one was debit and other credit (never heard that before). We didn t even bother asking why so we paid with one and that s it. It was until the end that he was very attend to us asking if we needed anything else, refills, to go containers or anything im guessing cuz he heard us talking about his tip. Yes we left him a tip but we didn t think he deserved it. The food and the manager were the reason I m giving it an extra star but if I was just going on the interaction of the waiter I would have left. I don t remember the waiters name because we only saw him a few times but it was a Hispanic waiter. I m hoping he is new or he needs to be retrained.

We were there on Sat July20 just because others restaurant were packed. We were seated right away and ordered our food at about 8.30pm. About 15 mins we got our drinks and appetizers. One of the appetizers was horrible, tortillas were soaked in oil but we gotta eat it coz we were starving. Not long after the server told us that we have to wait for a little more because I order Ribeye. An hour passed we haven t got our food the table sated after all gone, we asked the server they only say they will check with the kitchen and nothing back till we got helped by one of the Thai server for check and to go so finally we got our food. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. The gimmick/ theme was fun. The problem stems from the speed of service being kind of abysmal. Our food arrivived before our drinks, and its not even like wasnt enough time; we waited 45 minutes for our food, and it wasnt even really that busy. But it was scenic, and its what when my expect from a tourist trap. Next time, well probably go to fishtails, but Im glad we had this experience, although once is enough for me

Our Waitress was very sweet, very help. We got the shrimp platter. The shrimp were so gummy! Mushy like mash potatoes. Could not eat any of it. When the waitress noticed she insisted we talk to a manager about the mushy gummy shrimp. Welp, that never happened. Manager never came to our table. Told the waiter its frozen, what do you expect! The food was not good at all. Service was horrible. Atmosphere was stiff. Our waiter was to busy for us. Never acknowledged us, a supervisor had to come and take our order. The waiter didnt have many customers at all, so we actually saw that he was purposely ignoring us. He gave us food we didnt order. Food was not seasoned at all. Folks dont go to Bubba Gump Shrimp, its not at all worth the high prices they have for their bland tasting food and horrible service. Not worth your time or money.

It was my first time eating here with my family since it was also the first time being in Galveston as well. My sister suggested this place so we went. 1 hour wait was worth it! We got to eat outside on the balcony overlooking the water outside. Incredibly breathtaking sight. Our waiter, Larry was excellent and always making sure we had everything we needed! Also his patience with our kids! Ha ha I ordered Alabama Linguine with chicken, which was great. My kids had chicken strips and fries. Loved the movie pictures on the wall. It brought me to the movie flashbacks I used to watch with my family.

Some of the worst seafood Weve ever had. We ordered the Calamari, Shrimpers Heaven, Bowl of Gumbo, and A cocktail. The food was awful, under seasoned and the quality of the shrimp was a joke. The service was horrible, we ordered a cocktail and by the time we got it we already finished the pathetic excuses for shrimps and ready to leave. The cocktail itself was awful and we couldnt finish it. The atmosphere was overwhelming, and the service was slow. DO NOT COME HERE. It was a waste of $100 and our time. Restaurant Review: A Disastrous Experience on 06/29/2024 My party of 10 and I visited this restaurant on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, between 5 and 6 PM, and our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, the ordeal began and unfortunately continued throughout the evening. Upon arrival, the hostess, though polite, struggled with English, making it difficult to spell my name and provide my contact number correctly. Despite her assurance, I never received any text confirming our waitlist status. When I inquired again, she had somehow lost our information, resulting in an additional two-hour wait. This was later rectified by a different hostess/manager who correctly entered our details. As we continued to wait, my phones battery was running low, so we attempted to change the contact number with the original hostess. At that point, she informed us that our table was ready. However, when we proceeded inside, we were told that our table had only been assigned and we would need to wait another 30 minutes. Once seated, our server took an inordinate amount of time to arrive. Two members of our party ordered alcoholic beverages, which turned out to be watered down and unpleasant. Upon inquiry, a staff member named Edgar revealed that the drinks had been left at the bar for some time, compromising their quality. The food itself was subpar, with the Crab Boil being particularly awful as the crab was undercooked. Our server did not check on us until everyone had finished eating, by which point we were eager to leave the restaurant and our terrible experience behind. The situation deteriorated further when it came time to settle the bill. We had three separate tickets, two paid by card and my $122 ticket paid with $200 in cash. The server returned the checks, including the card payments, but did not bring my change, instead presenting a bill adjusted to $16. After a 15-minute wait with restless children, I spoke with the manager. It became apparent that our server had pocketed the $200 and falsely claimed that we said keep the change. Only after we mentioned our professions as police officers did she admit to her wrongdoing. The manager then reduced our bill from $122 to $76, but given the circumstances, we opted not to leave a tip. This experience cast a shadow over our trip to Galveston, prompting us to cut our visit short. Despite the managers commendable handling of the situation, we left deeply disappointed and upset, feeling that we should not have had to pay anything after such a disastrous evening. We hope that appropriate actions were taken against the server, as her behavior suggested this was not an isolated incident. We will not be returning and advise others to steer clear of this establishment.

Our Uber driver scared us because he said it was just a name and the food wasnt that great but I am so glad we decided to give them a shot anyways because we loved this place. The environment and music is lively the service is phenomenal and the food is absolutely delicious. We liked it so much we came here twice during our vacation. Once for lunch for my Fiancé birthday and then again after a night of fun at Pleasure Pier. Definitely recommend! Parking: You have to park across the street or in the seawall and finding a spot can be difficult but its worth it. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. They bring out the kids meals in cute little boat shaped plates and they get fun cups they can keep.

Really great experience! The food was amazing and the service was too. A man spilled a drink by my daughter and barely got a few drops on her. We helped as best we could, and he was quite gracious about it. Next thing you know, our bill was payed by him!
