This particular night the breeze was perfect the waves were hitting the bank causing a relaxing atmosphere. No loud music a few cars passing by. The park was lit up just enough to help enjoy a stroll along the pier.

Two long piers, a picnic park, and a public boat launch. Picnic area with charcoal grills. Right off 61st when you exit I-45. Two entrances, the first for boat launching and the second for the piers/picnic area. Look for the entrances on your right, because if you pass it, you have to go far and try a u-turn. Dogs on-leash. Come daytime or nighttime. Friendly people there. Feels safe. People are catching some big fish! One guy caught two huge garfish. Ive seen trout, bass, snapper, and flounder. UPDATE: They used to have restrooms, but they took them down. I hope they will put a port-a-john! ;-) Picnic area: Clean. Covered. Small charcoal grills for cook-outs.

Neat place to stop right off the freeway. Their are mullets and blue crab, not sure what else as we didn t spend a lot of time there. Needs restrooms, had the most disgusting portapotties on site. Toilets: Very gross portables. Doesn t really qualify as a restroom. Picnic area: A couple of small shaded picnic areas with park grills.

Not a bad spot to go fishing or to put your boat in the water. Its always pretty clean. Well lit at night. If youre looking for bait fish , drop a line under the pedestrian bridge. Its full of pin fish and croaker..... You get a bite every couple minutes....

Accessible. Wheelchair. Boat ramp for the public. Trailer parking. Open 24/7. Bay fishing. Small park-ish area, tables and restrooms. Never caught anything here, but it s fun to come and chill out. Fairly clean. The ease and accessibility is my cause for the five stars. I love that Galveston has a place like this inclusive for all. Right down the street is a great little bait shop. This last visit, all we did were feed the fish (not intentionally). We saw good size fish around the rocks, but nothing was taking our bait. Every few feet, there s pre-drilled holes there to rest your fishing pole in. A little place to deposit fishing line (yours and found please don t leave it there, dispose of it properly). Just being outside, yet away from elements is a nice amenity to have in the city.

Overall not impressed. The park had quite a few homeless people who will harass you while your trying to fish. The restroom trailer they have is an absolute joke all the lights fixtures inside have been ripped out, the floors are flooded with using and water, the entirety of the bathroom is just nasty. Wouldnt recommend fishing here no bites and its just not a good environment.

This place is where bait stealing fish thrive. If you are able to fight your way past the thieves of the sea, you might run into the occasional flounder, black drum, spec and slot. Ribbon fish lurk here too. My favorite thing about this place However is the homeless that surround it. They are crazy and crack me up when Im getting frustrated with the bait stealing pinfish.

This is one of the very few free, wheelchair accessible fishing spots in the Galveston area yet their brand new restrooms are NOT wheelchair/ADA accessible and the steps are too steep for most disabled people to climb if not in a wheelchair. ADA accessibility laws are meant to allow disabled people to access things like public parks, public restrooms, etc. and the lack of accessible restrooms at this location makes it useless as a fishing spot. Deplorable and illegal but typical of the anti-accessibility in Galveston/Galveston County.

The park & parking is free & open 24hrs. Its a great place for a family outing, fishing & BBQ. It has two covered pavilions with BBQ grills. A small trailer with working restrooms. Bait shops in walking distance. The view of the Bay is serene and beautiful . Why the 3 ; the restrooms are NOT handicap accessible nor are they maintained.

Perfect spot has restrooms that are clean compared to lots of other parks . Main spec they have BBQ pits whit a good area to relax and get outta the sun and a pier to fish off of. Its not a kid park with a slide or swings but is good to have kids learn to fish.
