NOT the OLD Nopalera!! Our meals were delicious, well presented and a great value!! We had quit the old management due to terrible meals, gristly fajitas and poorly prepared dishes. THAT IS OVER, new ownership of the kitchen/restaurant has turned what was a failing business into one well worth visiting!! Recommended!! I took no photos because we fell on our meals immediately!!

Just had breakfast burritos and they were amazing. Homemade flour tortillas were the best. We had some with bacon some with sausage and one with chorizo. Liz and Fernada were so very helpful with my order. I highly recommend this place for breakfast burritos.

Stopped for breakfast tacos. The tacos were 7 dollars this time which is crazy. Once we paid my daughter asked for a water and the lady just walked away. Very rude. The tacos were just eggs. No cheese and hardly any bacon or sausage. Paid extra for potatoes and beans and didnt even get them. Ill be finding a new taco place again since MI abuelitas is closed. Do not recommend

Very disappointed. We arrived around 9:30 am on a Thursday morning. We seat our selves, took about 10 minutes for someone to greet us. There was 2 ladies. One placing an order in the pos the second one just standing. The waitress took our order and brought our drinks 20 minutes passed until MY food arrived. I asked for salsa for my taco. At this point my wife s food hasn t arrived. 5 minutes later my wife s food and my salsa arrived and guess what? Yeap! My taco is cold now so I sent it back to reheat. The waitress was really trying but she seemed overwhelmed with the 3 tables in the floor. I don t really know what was the other girl job. But she just was walking from side to side instead of helping the waitress. Oh by the way food is tasteless, old cilantro, caned Nopales.

I have been coming to the Nopalera restaurant once a year for the last 10 years. And in the beginning the food was amazing! But in the last few years it seems as though the restaurant had lost its touch. After being a bit disappointed with my last visit, I was sure I would never return. However I find myself in Galveston for Memorial Day weekend and decided too give them one last shot. And it seems as though I have fell in love once again with this place. Not only have they improved their look but The service was amazing ,and the food was Outstanding !!!! I had three different plates because my taste buds were in heaven!!!!! Food is good sad that it closes so early 2:00 p.m. waitress got my order wrong but they quickly corrected it. Under new management... There is an up charge for pretty much everything! They ask How would you like your eggs? I said over easy but hold the yolk. Waitress says oh theres a dollar extra to do egg white only. I said why, Im getting half the egg... She said thats the price. No additional eggs just one egg. Makes no sense. Food is good just dont like the extra charges.. if you pay with card extra charge, cash you get menu prices.

We moved back to Galveston almost a month ago, and we are so glad to have found Nopalero! The breakfast burritos are delicious, love the bacon they use and the chorizo hasnt bee na greasy red addition- all of our food has always tasted so fresh. Their tortillas and red salsa are so good that I have bought some to go a couple of times. Their taco salad is also delicious. The family works the restaurant, and 10/10 you should give them a try, theyve been so kind, their food has been so good and they really want to make this place a success.

We got breakfast tacos for take-out here, and while the tacos were decent, the service was horrible. The server told me the tacos would be ready in 10 minutes, but it took over 40 minutes for me to get 4 breakfast tacos. When I asked her if she could check on the tacos after waiting 30 minutes (without the server saying anything to me at any time), she went back to the kitchen but didnt return to tell me how much longer it would be.

My husbands family is from northern Mexico, he never likes food at Mexican restaurants. Never. He could not stop talking about the menudo he ordered, how it was as close to his mothers as hes ever had in a restaurant. The barbacoa was good too, it was real cachete, perfectly prepared. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been having cilantro (which may have been available but we didnt ask, the menudo was that good) and having hot chiles in the pico for the barbacoa (again,we didnt ask!) The staff was very nice and friendly but the food does not have a good taste, it is definitely not authentic Mexican food. I asked for over hard eggs instead they brought me sunny side up. This place is directly on the Main Street Broadway. parking is in front and on the side streets. Entrance has a little step up, but they have a handle to hold when you make that step. I didn t see a handicap ramp. This is a great homemade Mexican breakfast. They keep the coffee flowing, the staff is very friendly. Short menu, you can order breakfast or lunch, it s the basics, but they make it count. They do serve beer.

My first time in Galveston. We ate breakfast here and it was really good. The flour tortillas were fresh and homemade. The food was really good. You can tell it s a family owned place. I am surprised at how high the ratings are for this restaurant. We visited about 2 months ago and the food was not that great- it really wasnt We went in the morning, kids had pancakes- they were extremely dried and our other dishes just didnt have the flavor we expect it to have (Menudo, Barbacoa Plate, Huevos A La Mexicana, Huevos Rancheros) . From the outside this looks like something I would expect good old homemade grandma/mommas food-- but the failed to meet our expectation. Sorry wont be visiting again. I dont recommend that restaurant, it doesnt serve that food, it seems like they are only interested in money, there is no passion for cooking. I will not be returning anytime soon however, our waitress did not have a mask on the entire time inspite of a mask required sign at the door. We support local restaurants who exercise safety protocols. So if thats important to you go elsewhere. If not, then by all means, have a reasonable breakfast here.
