We celebrated my husbands 65th birthday this past weekend. We stayed in room #11! The entire weekend was perfect. The Mansard House did not disappoint at all. The host made us feel so welcome and at home. AND, it was SUPER CLEAN!...a plus for me! We loved the pool!

We loved everything about our stay at The Mansard House! Its central location to everything we wanted to do in Galveston, plus off-street parking (although we wouldnt have had any issue finding parking on-street), made it so easy to get in and around town. The pool area is so relaxing and was the perfect spot to spend the late afternoon. The bed was insanely comfortable and we loved having the extra sitting room in our suite. The morning coffee and bagels were the perfect way to start the day. And what a fun surprise to get to meet Michael one morning and chat with him about their experience renovating homes in Galveston! If youre headed to Galveston for a week or only a couple of nights, definitely stay at The Mansard House!

After watching the show, my wife wanted to go and see it in person. We spent a couple nights there and it was amazing. Very clean, large spaces, quiet, nice secure parking. The young man who kind of runs the hotel was there in the morning and he was amazing. So polite! The rain kept us inside most of the time, so we watched the season with Michael and Ashley redoing the house (again). We finally got a couple hours pool side. And yes, we drove by their house a couple times but didn t look like anyone was home (we don t normal stalk people - HAHA). We also enjoyed some ice cream from their ice cream shop and had to go see the Kettle House.

We checked into the Mansard House for a weekend getaway and enjoyed ourselves. We were in a third floor room with living room, plenty of space and well appointed. The pool was a nice size and comfortable chairs. Very comfortable bed with fresh bagels and coffee available. There is also a mini fridge and coffee machine in each room. I marked service as a 4 since during our weekend we were only provided 2 towels with no other s available in the room. After multiple showers they were not doing much drying. There were also no pool towels available inside or out, but luckily we brought our own. The only other complaint is the store was closed for the duration of Labor Day weekend, we would have loved a keepsake. We will certainly stay again.

I ve stayed here several times and every time is a treat. It is a walk back in time. The history of this hotel is fascinating. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the amenities are perfect. You are just a few blocks from the beach. Free parking behind a secure gate and the pool is amazing. No matter how many times I stay here I never get tired of it. Rooms: Extremely comfortable. This place is impeccable. The room (Rm 31) was perfect. Clean, huge, everything worked and worked well. You could not ask for a nicer place to stay. The property is secure (gated parking, coded entry/room doors) and quiet. Close to The Strand, Seawall and many other attractions Galveston has to offer. The outside pool/cabanas are beautiful. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that someone should have made the rain stop for us!!!!!!!!

Spent two night in room 12, smallest for one person. Plenty of room, bath outstanding, bed comfortable, top level finishes. Have watch the renovation show, I know the quality material. Meet two retired couples on their stay, cozy lounge. Galveston Bagel Company across the street is a plus. Suggestions for dinner Sugar and Rye and Katies Seafood. The trip to Galveston was great, the bus tour is a must for sites and history.

My husband and I stayed at The Mansard House for four nights. We were amazed by the beautiful restoration! The craftsmanship and attention to details was spectacular. Walking in, you are immediately transported to the early 1900s. It has a warm and cozy historical feel yet offers modern day amenities. The pool was a relaxing escape from the Texas heat and the room was inviting with a large comfortable bed. We would definitely recommend the Inn and will return in the future. Thank you Ashley and Michael for making our 20th Anniversary trip special.

Very nice historic hotel. Yes, we watched the show. But it does not show the daily details in the hotel. It is 10x better. Super security, little bags of ice for drinks at the pool, awesome bagels, One tiny suggestion - on the porch swing - replace the bright light with a fan. We will be back.

Jun 27-30, 2024 - After a business trip in Houston, I headed to The Mansard House to spend the weekend in Galveston. My room was clean and comfortable and enjoyed the convenience of having a complimentary continental breakfast each morning before adventuring out for the day. The pool area is divine and enjoyed my swim each evening. This 1912 house has been given another life by keeping its charm and history and adding contemporary design elements that offered a calm and relaxing experience. The location is ideal for easy access to many attractions.

We enjoyed the coffee bar, the outdoor space and swimming pool! We grabbed a few souvenirs at their shop, and had a delicious burger from across the street! We can t wait to go back!

Stayed here two nights for my upcoming birthday! Loved every second. The hotel is beautiful. We loved our room on the second floor. The hotel was spotless. The pool was clean and fabulous. Even the number of creamers and sugars on the coffee bar was fantastic. lol. As a huge coffee drinker, I notice that. The Mansard House was everything we hoped. We ve been looking forward to our stay for months. It did not disappoint. For those saying the rates were too high, they are very comparable to other hotels and it was a much better experience. The bagels at breakfast were the best bagels I ve ever eaten. Black washcloths for makeup removal were available. The only reason we didn t stay for a full week is because we like to cook. But that s an us thing not an issue with the hotel. We are looking forward to staying here again and have been sharing with everyone! We, with other guests, got to speak to Michael. And I heard Ashley wishing an incoming couple a happy anniversary. So much attention to detail. Thanks for an amazing place to stay.

The Cordays have restored this old property into a wonderful place to stay when visiting Galveston. If you want a sense of history with a touch of early 20th century charm then please consider this place. The Cordays are really dedicated in their efforts to revitalize Galveston and The Mansard House is another example. Spacious and clean rooms, with a touch of the past and present. As a history buff and my wife, a home improvement devotee, this place resonated with both of us.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in early June. I have watched Ashley and Michael for years on their show and, of course, every episode of restoring the Mansard House. I couldnt wait to stay there and loved it! The attention to detail is magnificent. Our room was beautiful and the staff member Sunday morning was so very friendly! The bed and pillows are also very comfortable! We had the pool to ourselves all day Sunday which was so relaxing! The highlight for me was to briefly see Ashley and Michael stop by! We also went to their icecream shop which was delicious! I would 1000% stay here again and Im already looking up available dates. The quietness, beauty, and coziness will have us coming back for sure! Thank you for an amazing getaway!

Beautiful & peaceful stay!! Perfect location right in between downtown & the beach. We really enjoyed the child free environment. The pool was wonderful, the bed super cozy & SUPER cold AC. I really appreciated that the parking lot was secure. I was decently surprised at how affordable the room was, especially after being on the show and all. The only thing I didnt like was that the water pressure in the shower was very low. (Suite 32) It was so low that my husband & I both had a laugh about how it was like trying to shower in a light rain. It took forever to rinse the shampoo out of my hair.

I had an opportunity to stay at The Mansard House this past weekend. Michael and Ashley did a fantastic job renovating this historic boarding house into a quiet retreat for adults (only). If you are challenged climbing stairs, this is not the quiet retreat for you (unless you book a room on the first floor). There is no elevator access to floors 2 and 3. The pool area is nice and clean, and the pool water is refreshing. If Michael and Ashley were to modify anything at The Mansard House, I would consider adding pool-side service for drinks (of any kind) and/or snacks and add access to an outdoor bathroom by the pool. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Thank you! Sheri K.

A great night s sleep! Don t miss the sweet boutique before you leave! Lovingly restored and inspiring touches everywhere! We booked the smallest room and it never felt crowded. We had the best sleep of our lives! And for my insomniac husband, that is saying a whole lot! Be sure and utilize the porch swing at night to feel the gulf breezes! Lavender scented mosquito repellant available in gift shop! Will definitely come back! And splurge for the biggest room next time. Rooms are reasonably priced for what you get! We are in our sixties and could easily walk to both the historic Strand district and the Seawall from this hotel! Plus, you walk through gorgeous neighborhoods of historic homes! Do not hesitate to stay here! It s a gem! For those people who say rooms are too much, I think they are looking at the total cost and thinking that s the price per night. Our room was very reasonable given it s the tourist season in Galveston Island!

I m giving it 4 stars based on the cabana rental fee. We originally booked our stay in January for the Memorial Day weekend. We decided to reserve a cabana to secure an area by the pool to relax on that Sunday. Reservations had just opened up at that time & our plan was to be able to just relax & enjoy our kid free weekend by the pool. It was a complete full house while we were there. My husband & I were literally the only people at the pool. We had the entire pool to ourselves all day long! It was awesome! My complaint was that the cabana rental wasn t necessary & I felt like the rental fee shouldn t have applied. I received a follow up email after our stay that invited constructive criticism as well as positive feedback regarding our stay. I expressed the disappointment of the $150 cabana rental. I also made sure to point out that we thoroughly loved our stay there. It was quiet, the accommodations were top notch, so peaceful & quaint. It deserves a 5 star review but I never received a response addressing the issue. It s not cheap to stay here & the $150 extra charge is disappointing based on the situation. Michael & Ashley were visible the entire weekend. They work hard to run the establishment. They were so kind & helpful. The battery to our room needed to be replaced & Ashley grabbed a screw driver & immediately changed out the batteries. I m just surprised that my email went radio silent for over a week. I would definitely not reserve a cabana & hopefully they change that policy moving forward. According to them, the pool is the most under utilized area of the house. She was happy to see us enjoying it & wished more people took advantage of that area. Overall a great place to get away, enjoy the island & relax without kids. **the cabanas were not roped off & you could sit absolutely anywhere at the pool. There was no need to reserve a cabana at all. Considering the circumstances & comparing your procedure to common fees at other hotels is not the response I would expect. While I understand what you are trying to achieve, this situation was a learning lesson for you & I think a huge mistake on your part. Not considering refunding the amount is disappointing.

Beautifully restored 1912 boarding house converted into a quaint private guest inn with all the charm of the early 1900s accented by modern fixtures & amenities with added touches - including an inviting & fully enclosed lounging pool area complete with tropical landscaping, reclaimed brick accents, private cabanas and the cutest little outside shower youll ever see. We found ourselves lounging often on the wrap-around side porch or on the hanging porch swing overlooking the pool & garden. Watching its rebirth journey on Restoring Galveston was an enjoyable multi-episode watch but pales in comparison to being a guest and experiencing it live and in person. Theres a few growing pains here and there but nothing to write home about. We would have liked to have butter in addition to cream cheese for our fresh morning bagels, a little more counter space in the bathroom (but this was just our suite; other rooms have larger bath counters) and another TV in the sitting area of the suite would be nice, but then again, when visiting Galveston, youre not likely to be inside that much anyway. The location is absolutely perfect - in the middle of east island; its only a 4 minute drive (or 20 minute walk) to either The Pleasure Pier & beach or to Fishermans Wharf and the Strand. And the best smashburger on the island is right across the street. This is an exclusive guests-only inn that borders on being a residential destination; it doesnt claim to be a hotel or B&B. Its uncrowded and quiet and thus its allure. Youre going to drop a bit more than a chain hotel to stay here but rest assured you wont complain unless youre wanting room service. Book, Stay, Enjoy, Rinse, Repeat.

Breakfast in the morning consists of a variety of fresh bagels from Galveston Bagel across the street. We saw Michael around a couple of times over the weekend. Hes just like he is on the show. I met Rachel, I think, who had worked with Ashley since season 2. We enjoyed talking with her as she kept the breakfast area supplied and clean.
