I recently reached out to the Kaplan Law Firm to have someone review the terms of my contract, give me guidance on moving forward, and had questions about business formation. I paid for and scheduled my appointment. After reviewing the details of my case, the firm had integrity enough to let me know that they would be happy to continue to help me but perhaps they werent the exact right fit for the legal counsel that I was looking for. They provided me with a referral to a lawyer I was looking for, and they cancelled and refunded my appointment with no problem. I am surprisingly delighted at how simple they made this for me and how they did not try to take advantage of me by assisting me knowing I might have gotten better assistance somewhere else. My experience with Austin, Brent, Trenton, Madeline, and Meera has been so great that I felt compelled to write this review. I come from a small rural town where the local lawyers are part of your family. It s a rarity to find that hometown feel anywhere in a big city anymore but I did with the team at Kaplan. We just had a newborn baby and after we arrived home from the hospital there were two Kaplan onesies at our door with a handwritten note from the Kaplan team. That gesture took me right back to that small town and meant a lot to our family. Their knowledge of the law is second to none but their integrity and approach to their clients rises even above. First , they made me give me all the information I had about my disruption with my previous job . Ensured me that someone would get back to me with whether or not they would take my case or if they would like to schedule a consultation to discuss the matter more . I asked for a free consultation. Then after sending over all of my evidence they decide to email me saying they want me to pay now . It is such an inconvenience! Im leaving this review after having experienced a disappointing series of interactions with this law firm, which left me feeling unheard and without the support that anyone seeking legal help should be able to rely on. The communication throughout the process was dismal. Instead of being kept updated about the progress of my case, I constantly found myself having to chase the legal assistant to get any kind of information. This was not only stressful but also wasted my time and energy. I had an initial consultation with one lawyer who, after some discussion, advised me to take some time to think things over. Imagine my surprise and frustration when I discovered that this lawyer had gone on leave immediately after our meeting, leaving me with no other choice but to start afresh with a new lawyer at the firm. This complete lack of foresight and respect for a clients time highlights the lack of internal communication within the firm. The ultimate blow came when they abruptly declared that they couldnt assist me with my case. Rather than finding a way to help or offering alternatives, they unceremoniously pushed me onto other law firms. This left me feeling as though they were more interested in getting rid of me than in offering genuine legal assistance. Overall, my experience with this firm was not only unproductive but also quite distressing. I spent two weeks, a considerable amount of effort, and an unnecessary amount of money without making any progress whatsoever. I cant recommend engaging them. If this is indicative of their standard service, then one would be better served elsewhere.

Didn t even listen to me or ask questions about my case, didn t even bother to update me about my intake form, completely ignored me and hoped I wouldn t care. Had a consult with Maff. Maff was great and answered all of my questions in 1 consult which gave me the confidence to advocate for myself. I was not pressured into signing any retainer or talked into that my situation couldn t move forward without an attorney. I really appreciated that and it built trust. He did seem very thorough and explained everything well. I didnt care much for him asking about completely irrelevant issues regarding suspected surgeon malpractice, which he told me could help leverage a case.
