Cute idea, but the WORST customer service. On top of outlandish prices for items, their team does not know how to handle business. My daughter had painted a defective unicorn, which was found at pick up. Not only did they not fix the problem, but they BROKE it. When asked for a refund they said to come back in a week and talk to the manager. (This is after I ve already made two trips to pick up my item!) Apparently no one could get a hold of the lady running this place and her team onsite had no clue how to handle it. Not a really great way to be running a business when your onsite staff can t handle issues like this and you decide to go completely MIA. Beware and go elsewhere. This place is just out for a money grab. If I could leave a 0 star, I would.

I had my daughters 4th birthday party here about a week and a half ago. The employees at the place are beyond nice. But the owner is rude and lied through her teeth. The sweet employees informed us that we can come an hour before my daughters schedule party time to set up and decorate how we wished. I called a few days prior to the party day to see if we can come 1.5 hours early and the owner stated that we can come only 15 min before the party time. 15 min? Seriously? How is the sufficient time to decorate for a party. On top of that her employees told us otherwise when we booked. After a lot of back and forth, the owner said she had a huge party coming that day and only an hour prior to our reserved party time was ok. Funny because online showed that we were the only party scheduled for that date. Fast forward to my daughters party date. My husband and I arrived an hour before and there was NO customers there. No big party like the owner supposedly said. Unbelievable. Fast forward to a week after my daughters party. I went to pick up all the pottery pieced except one since one since my friend told me she was going to pick up her daughters from Make Expression since she was in the area. I picked up the rest and notified the employee that one of the moms from the party will pick up her daughters. The employee said that was completely fine and set that piece aside. I just got a call from my friend who notified me that she went to go pick up her daughters pottery piece and they told her that she couldnt because the host has to pick it up. SERIOUSLY? The employee never said a single thing when I told her that I leaving one pottery piece behind. Avoid this place at all cost. The owner is seriously unprofessional and straight up lied to us. On top of that, now I have to drive all the way back to pick up one pottery piece that I was told I could leave there for my friend to pick up.

We had seven people painting & had one bad thing after another happen. First, there was confusion about where to put us. The lady said we d need to wait until people left in order to sit together. Half an hour later, we were seated. There was absolutely no direction given in regards to the process; choosing an item, paints, supplies, etc etc. One of the ladies with our group had her young daughter painting & she selected a small princess. There were two of the princess items in the $25 spot. When we checked out, the cashier said it was an error & charged $65! So, we spent $65 on a tiny item for a 3yr old to paint a single color! There were no clean bowls to pour the paint in, mostly dirty brushes & when we asked for an off white paint, the lady gave us an off white that contained orange & black glitter (that was not noticed until after the piece was fired!). That ruined two $75 pieces! Anyway, we ended up spending upwards of $500 for what should have been a fun experience but wasn t. To top it off, a 10% GRATUITY was added to our bill - without our knowledge. I would have gladly paid a gratuity if the workers had even attempted to help. Needless to say, I definitely would not recommend this business!

Not what I expected and that may be partially my fault but the site was misleading. I have done several painting things but this was nothing like those. I went with my friend and 5 year old son. We were barely greeted, (the lady was rude and acted like we should just have walked in and knew what we were doing. We should have just known we had to go get all our own supplies.) and given a pencil to draw on our canvases with no direction. Get your own paint, supplies etc. I ended up not even doing one so I could help my son, which was fine. The price was $35 for a big canvas, which is high but okay. BUT $35 for nothing. I could have bought that size canvas for $5 and done the same thing at home. You do not pick an inspiration picture or help you draw, design, paint, NOTHING! I highly recommend Van Go Go. They are friendly and actually help. OR just buy some acrylic paints, brushes and a canvas and do it at home. I feel like I got ripped off and paid to be in the space because that is all we got. We will not be back.

I was very excited to come to this shop and have a calm afternoon with my mom who was visiting. We were there for an hour and half and had a good time painting. I truly enjoyed my time painting but the customer service after was awful and will be why I will attend a different pottery painting shop in the future. My mother and I wanted to pay separately but I was not able to pick them up at the same time because this. I had to get them a week apart. Both times I went to pick up the pieces, I saw others work fall out of the cabinet and break! One ended up being my mothers and another guests. I was not apologized too nor offered a refund. I had to ask for one and the cashiers seemed annoyed they had to call their manager, when they were the ones who broke it! I was told this happened because they were so busy and had many orders. That does not make me feel any better. How many had broke before mine? I found it upsetting that they did not seem to care to break some thing so valuable that guests spend a lot of time on. I found it worse that a week apart, I saw two things break and nothing change from the first time to the second. The store could easily purchase a few baskets to keep the work in, instead of pushing everything in cabinets.

If you are looking for a place for your kids to learning drawing/painting, please find somewhere else. The business description is deceptive, it gives you impression that your kids will learn the basic skills, actually not. (And I met other parents they shared the same frustration). They charge you a lot of money upfront, that is how they keep this business running. I am sharing the two drawing of my kid after spending 8 weeks in this so called learning class, judge for yourself and ridiculous they claimed there is good progress

5 stars is simply not enough to describe my amazing experience at this studio. I started going here since I was a little kid to the summer camps and recently came back again to paint some stuff! When I first walked in the studio was very clean and organized. I was asked if I was there to make something or pick up. I said I was there to paint. They showed me around and answered all of the questions I had about each of the projects. When I was seated, I had a nice conversation with the employees working there. They were all very very nice and polite. When I came back to pick up my piece I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the pottery and how amazing the staff was. There were a lot of amazing selections of pottery to choose from and I will definitely be coming back for more! Thank you for the amazing experience!!!! I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice way to spend an afternoon with family or just looking for away to decompress after work. Awesome job!!

This was our first time here as a family of 3. We walk in and we were asked if we were there to paint or pick up. We said paint and they said you can sit anywhere. So we sit down and no direction was given to us at all. Luckily I had done this before with work (different place) so I told my spouse and son to get up and pick a piece of pottery to paint. We assumed we had to grab our own paint since none was brought to us and I had to ask twice for water and paint brushes. There was limited selection and very pricey for such small pieces. Fast forward to a week later which I received a text that our pottery was ready from being placed in a kiln and fired. We were so excited. One of the items created was for a birthday gift. So I go to pick up the pieces and they ask me to check the bag to make sure everything came out ok. 3 of the 4 pieces were correct. The 4th one didnt even belong to us. When I asked for the missing piece (which was for the birthday gift) she went to look for it and said it hadnt been done yet. I said how does that happen if they were all together. Her response was I dont run the kiln. Thats it! No Im sorry or we shouldve checked everything before calling you - nothing. I said so now what? She says youll have to wait another 7-10 days. I was so upset I just walked out. After I pick up this piece we will never go back!

Our 7-year-old granddaughter went to three camps at Make Expression this summer, and did another virtual one on Zoom. She got up every day excited to go and willing to wear her face mask for the entire three hours. She produced a new project daily in a huge variety of mediums, and often came wanting to extend what she had learned that day. Miss Dipali is a wonderful teacher, encouraging and patient as she guides kids creativity. She also has camps during school holidays, as well as, open studio times. We highly recommend you check her out. Our 5-year-old granddaughter just finished her first camp with all of the same enthusiasm.

If youre interested in glass fusing, go elsewhere. Ive made a few fused-glass pieces before, but it was when I lived in another state. I had a simple project in mind and and brought a friend to try glass fusing with me but was very disappointed. First of all, the only base colors available for anything but a tiny project were unattractive colors of opaque glass, brown, mustard yellow, olive green, orange, stuff like that. The only clear glass was 3x3 inches. If I had been by myself I would have just left. The glass available for decorating the base layer was very limited as well. There were no large-sized pieces of glass to cut and use, there were long skinny sticks, frit, circular beads, and 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch squares of colored glass. The employees handed us glue and told us to use it to stick other pieces of glass to the base and gave us no other instruction. They did not show us how to score and break the glass like Id been shown in the other shop, not that there was much we could do with the tiny squares of glass available. I had to show my friend how to use the tools so we could at least break some of the square pieces into triangles and rectangles for variety. I wont be back.

Then when I went to pick up the pottery, no one was there even after 45 minutes after they were supposed to be open. It took another hour before I was informed that someone was finally there and I could get my pottery. I came here for my friends birthday party. I purchased 3 Groupons for the 16x20 stretch canvas, one solo, and a two person Groupon. We saw once we arrived that they also had candle making, mosaic making and ceramic painting. My friend (the birthday girl) fell in love with a ceramic and wanted to paint that instead so I quickly refunded the solo Groupon on the Groupon app and my sister and I continued with our canvases. All the materials passed out were cheap, used, brushes very cheap paints, and a crowded work area not accommodating our 5 person group. When we were done and went to checkout I pointed out that I had the Groupon and had the lady with the bangs redeem it. I was dismissed and told no, that in fact it was actually just a $10 off coupon instead of the $48 I spent on two of them, then charged again $65 in store. First she was wrong, but also I was appalled that for two cheap canvases, some old used cheap raggedy paintbrushes, and some basically generic crayola washable paints it would have been $75 in total regular price - That s a huge rip-off. I knew this felt wrong. I knew I paid for it already, went home, double checked my account later and when I emailed the owner with screenshots of my bank charges and the Groupon charge I was treated as if I was lying. Even after I gave her the Groupon order number of the two person Groupon I was double charged for, she went so far as to investigate to find the third Groupon that I refunded earlier that day we went to try to disprove me. That s very poor customer service. It took every patient bone in my body to write out for a third time an explanation of the problem to her and finally received a refund but one I had to drive another hour there to get.

Terrible place for a birthday. The owner is extremely stingy, she has a flat affect she doesn t smile. She wouldn t give any additional colors to kids to paint!! I mean come on man paint and glue is less than a dollar.....they don t even have crayons for the kids to draw on a piece of paper. I would never have a birthday there. She has no idea how to run a business.....

Absolutely loved my experience here today! I bought groupons for my mom, a friend, and I for our birthdays and we had so much fun. It was super easy to call and book everything over the phone. They took down my groupon voucher number and we selected the day to come. We received a warm welcome and told where to sit. Make Expression is a medium sized art studio with several tables surrounded by shelves full of owls, cups, bowls, dinosaurs, and anything else you can think of that can be painted. Imagine it and they have it! Kate was our instructor and she was super nice, encouraging, and helpful. I did not do the best job with my painting, but she told me that anything we do can be fixed--and she wasnt lying. Literally I made so many mistakes and I just painted right over it. A little bit of white and yellow paint really goes a long way. I am not sure if the wine messed up my painting skills or not--but, my painting turned out okay. I think I may hang it where no one can see it, but I am so glad that I tried anyway! My mom and my friend also had a great time and their paintings turned out amazing!! I definitely recommend Make Expression for families and childrens birthday parties. I love that you can bring in your own wine, but this is definitely a more family friendly place versus a girls night spot. It was still a great experience though!

The woman who owns this place is cold, rude, and creepy. She hovers over you while you try to work, watching every move you make. Impossible to relax. I definitely suggest going on a day where one of the young girls are working because they won t be rude and weird.

I went with kids ages 5, 9, and 17 who each chose an item to paint. They all enjoyed it! Ceramics, mosaics, glass fusing, candle making, painting, and maybe other things too. This place has a nice variety of projects to choose from and plenty of options for each project so you can find something within your price range. Its also nice that you can go without an appointment. Check their website for hours. The staff was helpful and interacted nicely with all of the patrons when we were there. I think Ill go back without the kids sometime and choose something I want to do. :)

I love this place! It is so welcoming and friendly, and you can tell a difference from the moment you walk in the door. They genuinely care and love what they do, and it really shows. The variety of projects, the choices - its wonderful - and we need more art in our lives - kids AND us adults! Its a fun break from digital overload - keep up the great work!
