Seafood boils are bomb catfish is good. My first time trying yams I wasn t a fan personally. I was really disappointed in the pigs feet it was just sticky and gelatinous: I was disappointed in the severe lack of flavor idk but definitely have had better pigs feet. I will say my most favorite items here are the deserts that peach cobbler and banana pudding are outta this world like one order of each it just ain t enough tbh it s so damn GOOD!!! I just wish the service wasn t slow in my experience to just pick an order I end up waiting outside for an additional 20 min. Why I m not sure I just know when I go even if it s just for the deserts I know ima be there waiting a min. They worth it though in opinion like I said one order ain t enough!

Man, this place rarely misses ! The food is super good ! Its a little pricey, but its worth it for me. Its kind of small inside, but its cozy. The staff members are very helpful and smiling ! Ill be a customer until I leave this area ! Parking: Parking is a little difficult. I prefer to back in because of the busy street.

My husband and I tried G s Soul Train for the first time last week and we LOVED our food. Everything from the chicken to the corn bread and banana pudding and more was delicious mmmm I m thinking about this food right now. Georgia is SO kind, inviting, and accommodating that I would leave a 5 star review even IF the food was bad. Luckily, it wasnt. She introduced me to Swai, which was delicious. It was a teeny but salty, but thats just a preference you can tweak for yourself. Good food is not fast food so call ahead or be prepped to wait for its preparation. Will return.

This food is absolutely delicious. Its great to have authentic soul food choices besides the run of the mill tacos and burritos which are common place here in El Paso. These nuggets are crispy, well battered, and seasoned to perfection. The dirty rice caught me off guard because so many people put pork in it and I dont eat pork. This is made with 100% ground beef. I even like the potato salad and I normally dont eat potato salad. You have to try the food if youre in the area. Parking: Pull up and park.

The food here is excellent, but don t come hungry. With only one person running the place (taking orders, cooking, & serving), service is very slow. Atmosphere is ok, it s definitely hole in the wall vibe- no TV or music while you wait. I d definitely come back, but recommend calling ahead to pick up rather than spending 45 mins~hour waiting in person.

So I will begin by saying Im from Houston Tx. I always look for a soulfood place when traveling for work. This place did not disappoint. The lady who answered the phone was so kind and welcoming. She told me that she was about to close for a period of time but she would wait for me to get there.She also may be the owner and chef. I ordered the pork chops, mac and cheese and dirty rice. The pork chops were well seasoned and cooked just right. The dirty rice was also well seasoned with a little kick of spice. The mac and cheese was good however I prefer mine a little more cheesy. They are definitely still worth a try. The meal came with corn bread. I do not like everyones corn bread but this corn bread is so good. For dessert I ordered the banana pudding and it did not disappoint. The portions are large. I have leftovers for tomorrow. The price was reasonable. I will be visiting again.

First time here and the food was delicious. We ordered the turkey wings w/fried cabbage & yams. And the catfish fillets w/dirty rice and Mac and cheese. We also ordered the banana pudding. It is a small place in the inside so not much seating. I believe it was the owner who came to our table to make sure everything was ok, thats always a plus in my book. The young girl at the counter was sweet but she wasnt very attentive and was distracted while being on her phone. If you want some good soul food people I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try this place. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Okay y all so I got the smoked turkey legs (it was one big leg this time) and it was tender, falling off the bone, and well seasoned 10/10. The mac and cheese was pretty good nice and thick 7/10 (haven t found a place to top mine haha) Collard greens 7/10 they were so good I just would like a little more seasoning but def getting again Yams 7/10 I personally have a real sweet tooth so they weren t sweet enough for me otherwise I d give 10/10 Catfish- my boyfriend had the cat fish and honey it was delicious and the pieces were huge and it was well seasoned 10/10 Cornbread 10/10 y all it was so good soft and moist nice and buttery but they were small I was like man I need some more ! I had their seafood special, as recommended by the server and chef, and Im so glad I did, as it was delicious! We also tried the chicken wings which were seasoned perfectly! Their portions are very generous. They were pretty busy, so it took a while for the food to come out, but we waited patiently, as it smelled so good in there. Other diners didnt seem to mind the wait either. I noticed they had lots of take out orders; and they seem to have quite a following of return customers. The server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant vibe is like a family, neighborhood place where everyone just gathers to eat. Also, they utilize a payment app, which makes it super easy, so you dont have to carry cash, or a card (just your phone, with payment info). I totally recommend this place and plan on returning to try more of their fabulous food.

This review may be a little long winded but this place deserves it... My children and I just moved here to El Paso from NC a year ago and we were looking for some soul food. We decided to try this little place and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere had a very homey feel. You could tell right away it was a small business. We were politely greeted and told that they had a few orders to take care of and then we would be taken care of. We were fine with the wait. We ordered the Fried Catfish Nuggets and sides were Mac and Cheese, Greens, Yams, and Dirty Rice. Man oh man, let me tell you. Everything was so good!!! It was worth the wait! It made us feel like we were back home. We also had the Banana Pudding and Fried Oreos. Yummy! The service was great and we also loved meeting the staff. Especially Ms. Sandra! Owner Re: Ill see you, you wont see me till Im gone. Ordered food an hour in advance. Showed up to pick up my order and still had to wait an extra hour for it to be brought out. From what I could tell, there was maybe 1 person in the kitchen cooking each dish individually. There were several other waiting for their orders aswell and were all told the food JUST started cooking as we came in. The restaurant is hard to find as their signs lettering mixes with the black baground it is printed on. The inside of the restaurant is dimly lit with a black ceiling, giving it a cave like feel. Theyre in dire need of a manager with restaurant experience that can help them keep a better pace for their orders. For a new restaurant, making mistakes on one order is acceptable and even expected. But not having 3+ orders ready is downright disrespectful to the clientele. If this restaurant wants to avoid the same fate the rest of the black-owned restaurants in the area have prior to this one, theyll do something about their timing. Ill give it another try some other day, and I will make sure to prder through GrubHub, as it seems those are the only orders they are able to complete in a timely manner. Quick edit: The food was amazing. I just wish i didnt have to make it an all-day trip, just to pick up food a mile from my house. Parking: Its located in a busy street, better to back into the parking or park around the corner.

Everything was top tier!! Service was great and personally spoke to the owner and she is one of the most sweetest people I ve met. She continued to make sure all guests were okay and truly cares for all that come into her establishment. I would post photos but I dug in too fast lol. Chicken wings were crispy and seasoned to perfection. Cabbage my God the cabbage . Macaroni and cheese was everything. Yams cooked to perfection and not too sweet. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at this small business. The dirty rice, fried chicken and the swai fish were delicious and well seasoned. The cornbread was really good also, just a little on the small side. Unfortunately, the collard greens were under seasoned, the yams were slightly undercooked and not sweet enough for me, the macaroni had a strong burnt taste. Let me start by saying, our food was amazing. The wings are soooo good ( & as someone who hates ranch, it was so nice to have some good quality blue cheese) . I am in LOVE!! This is my new favorite place to go...especially on Sundays after church. Its literally a hidden jewel that I didnt really want to rate on here, just because I wanted to keep it all to myself. Liz has been my server each time and she is AMAZING! I enjoy soul food but living in El Paso it is difficult to find soul food restaurants and the few I have found only a couple of them are truly good (in my opinion). This was very good. I didnt expect much but to my surprise it was awesome food and the owner was very nice as was the waitress recommend 10 out of 10 will be going back

Just stopped by on the way to Austin. Place is cozy and intimate and the chef and waitress are soo sweet. My girlfriend and I had the catfish, neckbones, mac and cheese, yams, cabbage and collard greens. BUSSSSIN!! definitely coming back! #Blackowned

My girl is about her business. When I first met her, she was a regular at my old job and was just a pleasant person to serve. Now Im happy to be one of her regulars! I have been eating at G s soul food for years and wanted to try the new restaurant, love it, love it, it s a yes for me. I had the fried catfish plate with Mac n cheese and greens. The catfish was fried perfectly and the Mac n cheese and greens were outstanding. My boyfriend had the fried chicken with two helpings of Mac n cheese. He said it s some of the best Mac n Cheese he has ever had. Kudos on that statement because he is a picky eater. The only four star item I ate at G s was the strawberry crunch cake because it was a little dry but perhaps I got an old piece. Overall I highly recommend eating at G s whenever you are in El Paso. You will not be disappointed. I meant to take a picture of the food but it was so good I forgot and ate it all before the snap.

Just gonna say it, best chicken wings I ve ever had in my life. Posted 2/25/23 UPDATE!!!!!! 3/4/23 Despite not leaving any room for improvement with the last batch of wings, somehow the wings got better by leaps and bounds this week!! I swear G s is ripping the wings off of angels and frying them because it shouldn t be possible how good these wings are!!

Loved the food because they had vegan options. Koolaid was smackin, sweet potato pie was on point. Definitely coming back, brought about 20 of my coworkers with me and though they had prior refrigerator issues they made no excuses, they werent stressed, and were still courteous. Great job, need a sound food place here Vegetarian options: Vegan strips with all the sides, fantastic food.

THE BEST SOUL FOOD! Everything is seasoned perfectly! My husband and I devoured it in a matter of minutes! We got their Regular Boil with sides of fried Swai, Mac n cheese, fries and Collard Greens. They also threw in a free lemon cake slice and it tasted amazing! Just like fruity pebbles! Will return soon :) total was 68$ for a giant boil and extra sides. Definitely worth it.

Owner is extremely rude, and got confrontational with other customer who said the food was bland and didnt have much flavor. Owner does not take criticism well. They then proceeded to make fun of the poor Asian girl making jokes about her Asian heritage making comments with racist undertones. Dont eat here go to 65 south.

If you re ever in El Paso, TX go by this place. The experience was as if I was at my Big Mama s house and she was cooking for me and my friends. The food was delicious and the staff made me feel like I was family versus a customer visiting for the first time. We had smoked neck bones, fried cabbage, Mac n Cheese, wings, fried pork chops, Double seafood broil, sweet potato pie and the banana pudding that was out of this world. Go check them out

I must say ! This place deserves more than 5 stars!!!! Not only was the customer service amazing, the food was amazing as well. Im from Virginia so I wanted to find a place with good soul food and Im so happy I found this place!!! I really cant find the right words to explain how great it was. If you are thinking about going ....GO!!! They give you big portions so I tasted everything first then I ate. I couldnt finish everything but it was worth it. Also priced well too!

OMG! Food was amazing! My first time going last night. I drove 25 minutes to this place and it was worth it! I am VERY picky about my food which is why I rarely eat out, but let me tell you it was worth the drive and the little time I waited for it. Everything is made fresh to order which I can appreciate. I ordered the catfish nuggets, collard greens, Mac&Cheese and Banana Pudding. I came into the house, prayed over my food and chileeee I could not even sit down before I started to dig in. I literally had to call the owner (Ms. G) and tell her how delicious it was! I will post a pic of what I have left, sorry it was a full plate but couldn t help myself. Thank you again. First time going, Sat (10.23.22) amazing. Food took awhile but look what I ordered. Well worth the wait. Anytime Im in El Paso I will be going here. I gotta try everything on the menu. REAL soul food. You know how you cant eat everybodys Mac n Cheese, youll love theirs. Wheelchair accessibility: It was about 20+ of us, one in a wheelchair, he was able to come in the door fine.
