About the Company

rating: 4.6

We are a self-taught collaborative. We are anchored in the roots of tradition and yet each inspired by unique cultural impulses. We embrace the scientific method, even as we collect artistic perspectives to blend with the distilling process. As a group, we’re driven to tinker and test, to re-think the creative process the way disruptive musicians, chefs and painters do. We experiment with ingredients and how they’re sourced, with distilling techniques, with ways of finishing—always informed by hard-won knowledge and a guerrilla expertise in taste.

Treaty Oak has been a regular watering hole for us for years. Sadly thats no more.... They closed the restaurant in order to host an events center Gents, whats the point of having a destination to drink without salty food? What does everyone with kids do besides go somewhere else? I get that your wholesale business is booming, but when we gladly pay $12 for a drink that has 2oz of bourbon in it, on a $27 retail bottle, this is a no brainer. Sadly, there is no longer a compelling reason to go there, with or without kids. Its a bar, drinking something you can buy at 20% at Specs... Big big miss guys. Still love the booze, but what are you going to do when MGP cuts your allocation and a great rev stream is gone? This was a 5 start review a month ago.

This place has an excellent ooopppsss gin. They call it their antique gin. The story goes that they accidentally loaded it into some rum barrels and thought they screwed up. But when tasted it made something new and different. Totally sipable like a bourbon... Really. Youre welcome in advance! Haha. Enjoy.

Absolutely thrilled with my recent experience at Treaty Oak! The food and drinks at Treaty Oak never disappoint. Their BBQ is simply out of this world, and the queso is next level. My team and I recently had a dinner at Alices, and we were all blown away by the fantastic atmosphere and exceptional service. One of my co-workers accidentally left something behind, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure it was returned promptly. The cocktails are crafted to perfection, and the overall vibe of the place is just unbeatable. Treaty Oak is hands down one of the best spots around. Highly recommend!

Man, it really pains me to do this because I never leave negative reviews. The only reason I m doing it is because I really used to love this place. In fact, when people would ask me what my favorite distillery was, I would say Treaty Oak . The reason I m leaving this review is not to detract from the business, but in hopes that the ownership will take note. I m not sure what has happened over the last year or two but the quality of Alice s restaurant has really gone down. When it first opened, it had some of the best brisket I had ever had in my life. When I went last night I was really disappointed in the operation of it all. I don t mind paying a premium price for food, but the quality has to match the price, and it used to. The drinks have changed, the way you order has changed, and the way the food tastes has definitely changed. Although I still do love their bourbon, the drinks were very subpar. I don t know if the quality of food that is purchased has gone down, or the level of talent has gone down, or both but something is way off. Also, I know mosquito treatment is pricey, but the reason we didn t order more was because we were getting attacked outside nonstop. Let me sprinkle a little positivity and say that the staff was nice and the music was good. Please take this negative feedback as a way to improve and fix what s broken. I do want to continue to see the business thrive and that s the only reason I m taking the time to leave this review.

I had a very frustrating dining experience at this restaurant. The food took an excessively long time to arrive, and my water glass was never refilled. To make matters worse, when my order finally arrived, I received only a tiny sliver of onions. The barbecue meat I ordered was shockingly cold, as if it had been refrigerated. I brought these issues to the attention of the manager, but they did nothing to address or rectify the situation. The overall customer service was poor, and the quality of the food was subpar. Considering the high prices they charge, I cannot recommend this place. Its an unfortunate combination of overpriced food, inadequate service, and disappointing overall experience.

Thanks to our tour guide Brandon for the fantastic single barrel experience. Highly recommended! It s the best distillery experience I ve had near Austin to date. The day started with a flight of bourbons selected from 5 different single barrels, it was fascinating to see the variation in flavors that manifested in each dram and discuss it with the guide. Next we toured the distillery which was very educational. Brandon answered all of our questions, felt very personalized and absolutely made the experience standout. The tour ended with a solid plate of Texas BBQ, recommend the pulled pork and homemade pickles. Just when we thought we were done we were presented with bottle of bourbon from the single barrel identified as my favorite from the tasting. I left this experience fat and happy. Well done Treaty Oak, looking forward to visiting again.

This may be some of the worst food Ive had in Central Texas. The pimento cheese was bland, mostly tasted like cream cheese, and was served with tortilla chips still shiny with grease from the fryer, yuck. You could get a better made one at any HEB. My salmon was cooked so hard the white albumin was leaking out all over the place: dry and inedible. The proportions in my mixed drink were all wrong and it was entirely too sweet, and even the salad was overdressed. How do you mess up a salad, for Petes sake? The service was negligible at best: no host/hostess, got our own menus, flagged down a server who then forgot to place our drink order (and the table next to us). We had a parade of people bring us various things or ask if we had been helped at irregular intervals, but no single person seemed to be paying any attention at all to our table service in its entirety. The menu sounds amazing but was very poorly executed as was service. Will not return.

We visited Treaty Oak for the first time today and were lucky enough to take the tour with guide Callie on her last day. She was great, incredibly personable and funny. The tour was an awesome experience, very informative with the history of bourbon, gin and Treaty Oaks place in it. The tour is also tasty which is another big plus. We wish Callie the best on her new adventure and thank her for our experience today. Another person to highlight on our visit is Amaris in the Mercantile. She has an amazing vibe about her, knows her spirits and makes a mean cocktail! We will be returning again soon. Just the drive out there is scenic and fun. Highly recommend taking the tour.

What an absolutely amazing experience. I was the lone guest for a single barrel tasting. Brandon was a first-class host, walking me through the distillation process and talking about the profiles of each whiskey from the different barrels poured. I got to select my favorite and take a bottle home with me. Furthermore, I got a private tour through the barrel room to discuss the aging process. It ended with a wonderful BBQ lunch. A truly great experience. It also helps that the product tastes fantastic. Keep doing what youre doing. I WILL be back. Thank you to my gracious and knowledgeable host, Brandon.

Stopped by Treaty Oak on a recent Saturday afternoon. Really cool vibe, outdoor music was rockin! We stopped in the Merch room, and tried a flight of the Waterloo gins. Yaupon, No.9 and Antique. Very different and unique tasting gins. Personal favorites were the Yaupon and the No. 9, both flavored with local botanicals, and the No. 9 included a wisp of pecans. The Antique version was a bit to much for our taste, were not big bourbon drinkers, but we could easily see how that gin could be a hit. We tried the Basil Blossom and Texas Buck cocktails per the bartenders recommendation. The Blossom is made with No.9 and the Buck is made with Antique. Both drinks were delicious! The bourbon notes in the Antique in the Buck were muted nicely by the cranberry, rosemary, lime and ginger beer! A fun place, well go back. The only downside we saw is there really is not anything kid-focused there, so likely not a good stop for folks with kids along.

Not kid friendly food. Toast but no jam or butter or other bread options . Had to ask for condiments. Bland eggs. One fruit option. A couple tiny pastry options. Took for ever to get water and our drinks. Very busy and chaotic. Just not what I expected I guess. We ordered a couple of Bloody Mary s and I m pretty sure they were Virgin Bloody Mary s. Again, the place is beautiful. Looks like it could be fun but was disappointed in the service and quality of food we received for what we paid for the Mother s Day Brunch.

This is after a 45 min wait to sit too. The food took forever, which I thought was odd for nachos (beans, chips and cheese) plus the brisket which should be done already esp given its a Saturday. Service & food isnt the same , sadly. Maybe the establishment was either struggling or short staffed (which we doubted because other several employees were hanging around not doing anything) Environment was still nice, and kettle corn is a win!

Treaty Oak was one of our favorite places in Dripping Springs. The drinks are good and the wait staff is good. Whatever management is doing with the new system of having to check in for a table is turning people away. We were told an hour wait and we couldn t order food until seated (unlike the way it was run in the past) with 10-15 open tables. Whoever is running Treaty Oaks needs to figure this out. Until they do, you can find us at Dripping Springs Distillery.

Ive been going to this place for around 2 years. I really do enjoy the atmosphere and the alcohol they produce is very good. The service is also excellent. The BBQ is very good as well. Now for the not so good. They really need to stop serving their drinks in plastic. They had been serving in disposable plastic, which is environmentally absurd at their sales volumes, but now they started serving in cheap tiny reusable plastic cups. It really taints the experience of tasting the awesome drinks they produce. Go back to glass. Also work on all your dishes outside BBQ. I had the Al Pastor tacos. They were soggy and clearly made without care. Everything fell thru the tortilla as soon as I picked it up.

What used to be unique cuts of meat, and a variety of Texas Bar B Que options, has been replaced with Tortas. Poorly made Tortas. The restaurant has clearly changed ownership. And now appears to be on a bad path. The main reason for my review is actually another change. Poor service. Our waitress was downright rude. When the food came out wrong, lots of eye rolling took place. I didn t feel wanted and felt like it was a burden for her to do her job. I will be back hope to delete this review when I do. I was really looking forward to this visit driving out from San Antonio. I planned this day trip for my boyfriends birthday. Ive been following the IG page for awhile. The property is very pretty. Drinks are great. Our service was excellent. Food, just bad. What we ordered; all four of us had the 2 meat plate with brisket, ribs, sausage, mac n cheese, potato salad, brussels, charro beans, fries. The brisket was TERRIBLY dry. You shouldnt have to use bbq sauce on brisket. Absolutely no juice came out of that meat. None. The potato salad didnt have much flavor at all. Everything was so over salted I had to put chapstick on! My mom didnt eat her brussels, they were too salty. The charro beans were too salty, I took one bite and push em aside. The ate half of my piece of brisket and pushed it aside because it was so dry. Everyone had quite a bit of food left on their trays. No one enjoyed their meal. Our server asked about our experience, we got 3 free drinks... What a disappointment after seeing all the photos on their IG page of the food. Did not match in quality at all. Tell the chef to chill with the seasoning salt!!

While wandering around the Austin area looking for dinner, a wonderful couple recommended the food at Treaty Oak, specifically the brisket nachos. I cannot begin to tell you how happy we are they did so. What we anticipated to be an hour and just dinner and tasting turned into 6+ hours, a bit more money, new friends, and so much fun! The dogs are always a plus too! The gin was so flavorful, the whiskey was smooth and complex, and the food was amazing. Well worth every penny we spent!

So its all good or not.The rye 12year better still not a fan.Bloody Mary good a thin mix homade made ..spicy has jalapeño fresh..Id be a cocktail person next time..Beer they have to.Lot of people dogs n kids at 6pm Friday A great hang out for sure a must stop at least once..Popular with the locals...

I had lunch at the the Treaty Oak and liked the rustic feel. Ordering from table seems convenient but really doesn t describe the meal very well. I ordered the two meat plate with two sides. It came out with two slices of brisket which had ok flavor and two ribs which had no flavor and tough. Two side Mac and cheese something you need to avoid and beans which was the best thing on the plate. The side portions were very small I mean very small. I am not a fan ordering from table. I would not recommend nor would I return.

Went here yesterday for cocktails. Great outdoor space for family, friends and dogs. Tasty cocktails. I ordered the Hill Country Dreaming and Austin Tea Party and my husband, a whiskey flight. I prefered the Hill Country Dreaming. It tasted closer to a Long Island Iced Tea, which I love. Friendly staff. My only suggestion is to add some Adirondack chairs on the grass. They are more comfy than picnic benches. 4 stars instead of 5 because we were given 10 percent off tab instead of 20 although my husband is a firefighter & showed his badge. And the bartender was showing us the total which means he had literally just pressed the wrong buttons or calculated wrongly when I asked how much the first responder discount was and he said 20 percent off. But he d given us only 10. I saw the error and walked back to get it fixed, which a different bartender did. Also, it s within walking distance of Abby Jane s Bakeshop. Check em out too!

Really great food and drink. Staff is super nice and the hill country setting is pleasant. Had a wonderful time until some guys pitbull attacked another dog, causing an epic scene. The guy had to put his dog in a headlock until it let go of the other dogs throat. Staff talked to the owner, but he apparently did NOT have to leave. Not a happy scene, everybody around was clearly shook, and the guy stayed. Ill be back for sure, but I hope mgmt gets stricter with the dog owners.

My husband and I bought a tour with the distillery and by far the best tour we have done. We love going to breweries and distilleries and expected the same old same old, but Cody our tour guide exceeded our expectations by 1000. Not only did he tell us the process like all other distilleries but went above and beyond the basic knowledge to give us more insight on bourbon, whiskey, gin, vodka and the barrels and so much more. I highly recommend going here. Not just for the tour but for the drinks, the food the experience as a whole. By far the best distillery we have been to. If you can get Cody as your tour guide!!

Y know when you return to a place that you ve had THE best experience but each following visit is less than, then less than. Treaty Oak is this for me. Our first experience 5 yrs ago was stellar. Easily dropped $400 on food/drink and gifts for my non-Texan friends. Next visit, food/drink fantastic; staff-meh. The following year a notch down. This 4th visit, was almost a bust. Apathetic staff with borderline rudeness to patrons wearing masks (there is a pandemic even in Texas hill country). Terrible drinks. I mean horrid. I had three just to be fair in this review. All tasted like what you d expect a Moscow mule to taste -in the morning after the ice has melted. Their brisket and queso was one of those where have you been all my life moments 5 yrs ago. Now it tastes like salted velveeta. I am taking into consideration some food establishments are suffering from distribution issues. But if you did have to substitute a cheese blend for what you usually serve, taste it first. I don t think you d serve it if you had.

My husband noticed one meal that wasnt ours, but didnt see the other that was not ours until we got home and looked at the bill again. I immediately called and spoke to Garrith, the general manager. He assured me he would credit our card with the meal, tax, and gratuity and text me when hed done it. I called him twice since he told me hed give us a credit and no one EVER answers the phone there. I did leave a message, and here it is 4 days later and still no credit or phone call back! Be sure to check your bill after eating or drinking there! BTW, were talking around $25 over charge!
