Stopped here for lunch. The ramen was flavorful and the service was cute with the robot coming to your table with the food. The server still took the food from the robot tray and placed it on your table. The service was fast and friendly.

Food was flavorful at least, the ramen didn t come out like the picture, 2 tiny pieces of pork that were very tough considering it was pork belly, half of an egg. Seemed not worth the price, I ve had better, but the staff was very nice.

The Shoyu Veggie Ramen is the reason George Washington wanted to fight for America s independence. I wish I would have tried this Ramen restaurant out sooner then I would have known the joy that Bergan s feel eating Trolls on Trollstice. The ramen was so freaking delicious.

Love this little place! My girlfriend is gluten-free, so we ordered 2 Ramen dishes, sub gf noodles ($3 upcharge). We got the Tomato Ramen and the Miso Ramen. While we waited for our lunch, I played the crane game and won a baby Yoda and a Toy Story Alien. Our food was brought out by a robot! We enjoyed the Ramen, and had a fair amount to take home for leftovers. Would recommend the Miso Ramen. Vegetarian options: Several options. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options Kid-friendliness: Kids in the booth behind us having a grand time.

This was my second time eating here in two years. My first experience was very positive; however, after today, I m not sure if we ll be back. Our noodles were a strange consistency.. doughy almost? Not sure if that s because they re under or overcooked but it s hard justifying the price for a sub/par meal. Generally, the servers and the atmosphere were fine. They also had SpongeBob playing in the background which is a show I like, but possibly consider another place if you re looking for a romantic date night spot.

On my first order, I tried the miso ramen. The flavors were on point and very well balanced. My second order, I tried the shoyu ramen based on recommendations from other reviews. In my opinion, it was very salty and lacked flavor. Also many noodles were stuck together. I would not order this again. My son tried the chicken fried rice which he said was very good!

Terrible service, not at all attentive. A group of us came in and were ignored for almost 10 minutes while numerous employees( including what looked like the manager) avoided eye contact and walked right past us multiple times. I had to flag an employee down just to ask if we can sit in one of their many empty tables. You dont have to be the host or hostess just to acknowledge a customer and say well be with you soon. The service didnt get any better after being seated either. Had to flag down or even stand up to get the waiter everytime we needed anything at all. Food was ok at best, Hanabi on Carroll tastes better and has superior customer service.

The look of the restaurant was nice the booth was nice and spacious. I do not know if I am spoiled to my normal place but the food here was way below my expectation. Every sushi roll we got fell apart as we picked them up and the flavors were not right. The ramen was not terrible but was Luke warm when it came out. The sweet tea was terrible. Service was non existent and everytime we requested something the waitress or waiter looked at us and didn t understand. We never had the same person check the table twice.

Worst experience ive had at a restaurant ever. Tables were dirty i mean sticky and disgusting the menu stuck to it, they took forever to bring me a highchair when I asked for a screaming toddler, they mixed up my dishes with my spouse who cannot eat spicy but had my spicy dish by the waiters error. They double charged my credit card by mistake and took forever to cash out, meanwhile the guy next to me who who sat after me was already cashed our ready to leave as I sat and waited and looked like an idiot waiting for my card with my irritable toddler. They never came to refill our drinks till we were done eating. The waitstaff seemed to hate their jobs. Nothing went right here. We will not be back.

(Update) Went today and received quick friendly service. Had a problem with my food but the fixed it quickly. Also, the air conditioner seemed to have been fixed. The ramen was pretty tasty as well although the chashu did seem to be a little overcooked. 4 stars. (Original review) Pretty average ramen but good. Service was very lacking. It took forever to even order but once we ordered the food came quick. It took forever to get our check. It was super hot and stuffy in there. The table next to us seemed to be getting great service though but we had different waiters. She ended up helping us at the end and was way quicker. So the service might be ok but is unpredictable.

The service was honestly the worst part. Our server was probably a college student. Didnt speak well and he mumbled his words and extremely quiet. It was hard to know if he heard what we ordered or asked. Poor guy was all over the place. Think one of the socially awkward people who dont do good around other people. All of our food came out speratly so our kids were done eating before we even got our sushi. The over all food was ok. The fried roll came out cold so If you want warm or hot sushi this isnt the place.

I m really not one to complain, so I ll start with the good things about this visit. The Texas roll and chashu bum was absolutely delicious. They have a cool robot that delivers your food. However, they sat us in front of the kitchen, where the food preparation was openly visible. My husband and I witnessed the person chopping cabbage. He picked the cabbage up off the floor and added it to the pot.

Let me start by saying the ramen is delicious. What s not okay is that we ordered a roll based off of the picture and they brought out a completely plain looking roll that looked nothing like the picture. We told the server, she talked to the chef and came back and told us that the menu has fake pictures and the rolls don t look like that. That is false advertising, bad service and bad business.

Been eating here as my wife and myselfs main date spot for a couple years now. The food is utterly amazing and they have great service. Our latest visit we had a server named Skylar that went above and beyond so I thought it was time I wrote a review. My favorite things to eat here is the chicken katsudon and the spicy tonkotsu ramen, which I need to say beats the other ramen joints in Denton as Ive been to them and there is a reason this place kept us coming back. We move away from Denton soon but if we are ever back in town, this will be the spot. Thank you all for having an amazing little joint with great food, servers, and atmosphere! I have no idea where the good reviews are coming from this place because wow. The ramen is quite literally inedible, as soon as it was sat on the table I got a whiff of rancid meat.. my boyfriend tried to truck through and eat it but could not and almost threw up after attempting to eat the egg. The sushi was bland at best, flavorless, but it was fried so it was edible , their menu is LACKLUSTER!!! Every single dish is the same meal just one slight thing changed, the sushi options especially were so disappointing. The aesthetics are decent enough; the wood chairs are pretty but overall? I recently dined at Kurume Ramen & Izakaya and ordered their shoyu ramen, and I must say, it was a delicious and satisfying meal. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly cooked with a nice chewy texture. The toppings, including the tender chashu pork and the marinated egg, added a burst of flavor to the dish. The shoyu ramen at Kurume Ramen & Izakaya definitely hit the spot and left me feeling warm and satisfied. One thing that caught my attention was the rustic wood interior of the restaurant. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with dim lighting that created a relaxed atmosphere. The wooden decor added a touch of warmth and authenticity to the dining experience, which I appreciated. However, one minor disappointment was that they charged for extra spicy sauce. Considering that the ramen bowls were already priced at $13-$15, I would have expected the spicy sauce to be complimentary. It would have been nice to have it as an option without an additional charge, as I found it to be a bit of an inconvenience to pay extra for a condiment. Despite this small hiccup, my overall experience at Kurume Ramen & Izakaya was enjoyable. The shoyu ramen was delicious, and the rustic wood interior added to the ambiance of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if youre a ramen lover looking for a cozy spot to satisfy your cravings.

Ive been here several times and have never had an issue, but theres always that one make it or break it time. My wife and I got here today (03/14) at 7:00. The waitress (no name given) asked for our drink orders and we looked over the menu for about 10 minutes. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our food and the couple that ordered more than we did and came in 15 minutes after us got there food at 8:15 right as I dropped $3 on the table for my wifes lemonade and walked out. I understand having a change in ownership (thats one thing the waitress mentioned). But it shouldnt take 45 minutes for food to come out only to have someone that showed up later get served first. Unfortunately we wont be returning if this is how the new management and serves handle the place.

The broth was absolutely flavorless. Not understanding what I paid $13 for .half an egg, two pieces of bamboo shoots, a few bean sprouts, and no chashu? We were sat down last night and waited around 15 minutes til one of the servers came to us, not a issue if they were busy but sadly they were not. Sydney approached us and did not even ask for drinks but rudely asked if we are finally ready to order (she didn t even introduce herself but we found out her name through the receipt). Again not great service but everyone has bad nights. We order our drinks (which we never got a refill as this is the last time we saw our lovely server). The appetizer came out almost on time it was almost warm. The other waiter guy delivered it to us. We waited around another 30 minutes for our actual food, 15 of which we saw the food just sitting in the window getting a nice cool breeze as the cooks dinged the bell a few times to get the servers attention. Finally, the kitchen staff brought it out as no other server brought us the food. The ramen was cold and not even spicy, the chicken katsu was soggy and the rice slimy and mushy. I never had a waiter come to our table to check up on us during our time there or to even ask if we wanted our check. So I decided I just wanted to talk to someone in charge to maybe sort things out. Go up front and they said Oh we ll be with you shortly. and I waited another 15 minutes. I came back up again and simply asked Can I please talk to a manager? and they said Oh we have no manager. which is a truly novel concept. Get told to wait again. Another 10 minutes pass and I just go up there and say I m just willing to pay for a couple of things. They then proceeded to lie to me the next day that they can t do refunds. Needless to say, this is the poorest experience to be had and we ve gone to Kurume many times in the past two years as its our go-to place. I won t be coming back after being treated like this. There s other restaurants in the area.

Waitresses/waiters always have an attitude or lack attention and it takes 5-10 minutes to get anyone s attention. I have been here probably 10-15 times (since it s the only good ramen in Denton, otherwise I d go somewhere else) every single time I come they have an entire new staff so clearly there must be a management issue.

Manager/owner Paul messes with employee paychecks so often that staff are constantly tracking and gathering proof of their own tips and hours. Literally every single license he has (alcohol, health permit, etc) is long expired. He tells employees to mop the floors with laundry detergent for god s sake. If it weren t for the employees (who are very nice and young and need the money) I would happily file a complaint with OSHA. Food is pretty good though, so if you eat here make sure to tip your server as they already have too much to deal with at this place so so sketchy.

We were really excited about trying this place out for the first time. Hours say they are open until 9pm, we arrived at 8:25pm, another table had just been sat and was just placing their order and we were turned away saying they close at 8:30pm. Extremely disappointed in the customer service. It s Friday night, one of the busiest nights for a restaurant. Not sure what they are doing.

Worst Ramen and takoyaki Ive ever had. Takoyaki was completely cold goo in the middle and burned on the outside. Spicy miso Ramen tasted like soap or metallic taste with only noodles and a tiny piece of pork for 13.50. If the price of everything was half as much i might say yes if I was desperate, complete waste of money.

Walking in, the restaurant smelled like a restroom water smell. The server was nice but she had to set up our table which took a little bit of time. We placed our order of a Spicy Tonkotsu and Gyu ramen. The ramen came out tasting pretty good but I was disappointed by how little there was in the bowl. There was only half an egg (it tasted great) and I only had one piece of charsu. The presentation was nice but I was just a little disappointed with this experience especially since it was $13 a bowl. The Gyu had a strong bbq flavor to it and was very beefy. The Tonkotsu was a little salty but overall had a strong bone broth flavor.

I used to frequent this place but haven t been in a while because last 2 times were not worth the money spent. Like another reviewer said they changed the tofu. The tofu and pork are kind of off putting. It kinda seems like maybe they prep things too early and it sits. I got mazemen and it was akin to a grocery store prepped noodle dish. Very bland and my noodles were stuck together in a tight inedible blob that wouldn t break apart. The Cali roll was good but they haven t included ginger or wasabi last 2 times and that s just cheap. Staff was kind. I hope the owners see the recent reviews and see the slipping quality:

Kurume was me & my husbands favorite spot for Ramen in Denton. We just came back after moving away for a year, and it was really disappointing. I love the creamy veggie ramen, and usually the tofu is delicious, but the tofu today was the texture of a sponge (Ill include a picture). My husband said his ramen was underwhelming, which is surprising because hes constantly raving about the ramen at Kurume. Overall, we are just really bummed after this trip.

Even when they are packed and busy, they work so hard here to get you the best possible. Ramen, don, gyoza, its all good. It is exactly like being in a Japanese Ramen shop. Go to the bar and sit and slurp for the most authentic feel. Just dont go for that octopus puff unless thats your thing. Ugh.

We went in at 2:50, we were the only ones there. We had a hard time ordering, because the waitress knew nothing about the menu items, or about food in general. We ordered 3 times and they kept coming back saying they cant make it over the course of 30 minutes. We left at the hour mark because they hadnt even started making our food. They still charged us for our drinks however. Horrid customer service. I will not be returning.

I hear there is a debate between which Ramen place is better in Denton: Hanabi or Kurume. Let me settle that debate, it s Kurume all day. The food is good every time. The chasu bun appetizer, the sushi and ESPECIALLY the ramen is amazing every time. My boyfriend and I come here once every two weeks and it s always amazing. Kurume for lyyyyfe

We went in on a Thursday at 7pm. As we walked in the restaurant smelled of bleach. I can get over that, it means they clean, right? While there were plenty of seats we were sat right in front of the kitchen entrance and also near the bathroom. My wife went to the restroom and I sat starring at the kitchen and their disgusting 50 gallon buckets used for who knows what. As I sat there, I also smelled a strong odor of urine coming from the bathroom. My wife said it smelled horrible in there. Between seeing the kitchen, the strong odor of urine and bleach, we left before ordering any food.

Food was very tasty, hot and fresh. Wife had the mixed seafood Ramen and I had the bulgogi bowl. She loved hers and gets it every time. This is my first time trying the bulgogi bowl and it was SO good. Added a side of spicy chili paste and what a game changer! The 4 stars is for the service, which was a little slow, but it was a Friday night at 7:30pm, so that should be expected. Still, thay could organize a little better.

I am very sad to write this and say I won t be returning. I went here a few weeks ago and talked and talked about the amazing food and experience. However this wasn t the case. We arrived at 7:50pm got a table and didn t get our food till 8:53pm because our food was given to another table. It was a terrible experience. I get the fact places have call ins and there was two people running the whole restaurant, but our dumplings were cold, they were not cooked all the way and one of the employees smelt extremely bad and it was very unappetizing to the point we took a few bites when we finally got our food and left had to even get up to get our check because people around us waited 30 minutes for a check.

I ate pork bone ramen. I was expecting American ramen, but it exceeded my expectations. The price seems high when you include tip, but if you consider that youre paying for the ``Japanese flavor that you can enjoy in Texas, I dont think its bad at all. The clerk was of Asian descent, but he didnt seem to speak Japanese (I expected too much).

So the veggie rolls were FANTASTIC. Loved it. Earthy, crisp, fresh, delicious. Veggie gyoza was also equally good. That being said, the creamy veggie ramen we got had a straight up layer of oil on top of the broth. It was tasty but suuuuuper oily. Also, one of the men behind the counter was eating things with ungloved hands behind the line. Dont get me wrong, im food service too so I know its hard to get those bites in but please wash your hands and dont eat on the line. Side note, the tea cup had buildup from the teas on the inside. You can get it off with vinegar and salt and scrubbing. Miso broth was a solid 7/10. Probably will return with these things in mind.
