The pizza gods have truly blessed this place. The reviews about the sauce are right. Too many pizza sauces are too sweet or too bland. The sauce at this place is honestly perfect and should be a government secret if it isnt already. $10 may seem like a lot for the size pie you get, but as someone who can polish off a whole pizza solo, that $10 is well worth it and it fills you up (with a beer from Eastside of course).

Make sure you get the stuffed pizza. I got a personal pan, and its simply a slice of pizza with your preferred toppings. Ill try again and will get the stuffed next time. It was delicious, but I wanted the old school flying tomatoe flavor. NEXT TIME.

The Tomato has lived in a few different ways and now they are a Food Truck. The food has always remained amazing. Comfort food is a pepperoni Chicago Style (they used to be called a stuffed pizza). If you have never tried one, please try it and I assure you that you won t regret it.

OMG! IM SO HAPPY THIS PLACE IS BACK! Its not the same. The recipe is, but if you know, you know. The old place is unforgettable. But it sure is good to see the tradition carried over. And hopefully, someday, down the road, itll be someplace to remember again. God bless them SO MUCH!!

I had a slice of Veggie Wedgie. Deep dish isnt my favorite, but for deep dish it was awesome. It was heavy on the tomato flavor (might use tomato paste instead of sauce) which I love. Lots of slices of veggies. Great flavor.

We waited 25 years to have The (Flying) Tomato and it did not disappoint. The tomato sauce makes the pizza, the slices are big, and breadsticks divine, and the crew amazing. Cant wait to go back next weekend.

This pizza is so good it makes you happy. You really must try a slice, and of their delicious Chicago Style stuffed pizza too! The Tomato staff is friendly and the pizza is baked to perfection. You can eat outside or inside Eastside which is a short walk from the Tomato. Thank you guys for a great pizza experience at the Tomato tonight!

Delicious pizza from a food truck! We always get the stuffed pizza, like the kind they make in Chicago. These are personal sized, but very hearty and filling. It has outside seating or you can take it to go. You have to check their FB page for their weekly menu of stuffed pizzas, as it differs nightly, and they change the hours up due to this Texas heat

Braved the horribly ugly and burning hot weather and finally tried what was once a popular spot on Fry. Of course, the options are more limited than a full store would be, but the sauce and crust tasted pretty much the same as the orig. We both got sausage and pepperoni stuffed, however, it looked more like some sausage shavings here and there. I guess we got there too early maybe, will give it another shot.

I used to visit when it was across from UNT, and even took my son there. While it isnt exactly how we remember it, it was worth the wait to get a taste of the past and oh so good!

We eat here about once a week and live an hour away. Daily STUFFED is the way to go! Pepperoni Rolls or Breadsticks are amazing. Greatness! Its part of the food truck park so we can enjoy a pint of beer from Eastside on the patio while we wait for the pizza. They give you a pager, and its super easy to order and ENJOY! Infinity Stars Will ALWAYS recommend!

I went with high expectations: my memories of this shops previous incarnation on Fry st. were so fond that I was suspicious of their reliability. Imagine my delight at finding every beloved flavor recreated, and my surprise at discovering innovations that met the same standards. Bravo, you wing-clipped fruits. Wingnuts! Youve done it right.
