We got the flyer in mail so decided to try the place. The gal behind the counter said they were having a special for $7 a bowl for the prime rib, well have that, I said. Thinking we re gonna get lunch for $14 we proceeded with the young man down the line to add the ingredients. Rice, onions, lettuce, guacamole, refried beans, avocado, tomato, cheese, and two medium pops. Got to cash register and young black girl said $32 We paid, shocked, but paid. Got a table and ate. Meat was tough and cold, the whole thing was cold. Wasn t really happy about the taste and price, so went back and asked the girl for the receipt and asked why it was $32 when the other gal said the bowl was $7 each? She asked if we had extras? Extras I asked ? What s extras ? She explained some of the ingredients are extra cost, which we were not aware. That was a shock. So not going back.

As I stood in line to order on Saturday there was a special needs person applying for a job. The guy conducting the interview, who seemed to be in his mid to late 20 s, was SO kind and respectful. He was so patient and professional with the man and he showed real respect and dignity to him as they went through the pre-written interview questions. I think a lot of people would have done a lot less and I just remember thinking I wish there were more people with his patience and kind heart in the world. Thought it deserved attention. The burritos are pretty fire too

Genuinely so disappointed. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat but has sadly gone down hill. All the employees here expect one manager are monsters. Making me feel like a bother for wanting my food? Its not just me who they were rude to it was every single customer interactions. While I was being checked out the workers were giving each other looks and making faces. They did the same thing to the women In front of me. The woman who made my burrito and checked me out started getting aggressive when I clearly said for here but she was too busy making faces and rolling her eyes to hear me, so she then decided to raise her voice and say FOR HERE OR TOO GO?! Free birds needs to teach their employees how to interact with their customers or the generous 3.5 stars they have been gifted will dwindle. Plus did not think I would need to mention this but the woman who said that to me smelled terrible!

If you want good food from here, go when they aren t busy. This is the third time I ve gotten a vegetarian bowl and not gotten ANY guac/avocado. I feel like people would rather have the correct order 2 minutes later, than have to go back up there from a pick up order/doordash/uber eats/mobile order. Its pretty obvious this company must have been purchased recently. First visit in years and disappointed. Entire atmosphere has changed, no longer feels like eating in a Harley shop. Still kept the hanging motorcycle though for some reason lol. Food quality and options have dropped severely since the last time we visited. All favorite options gone. Hotsauce bar gone. Everything that made this place anything more than just another chipotle disappeared. Very sad.

What a great place! I ordered online for pick up. It said that it would be ready 15 minutes later, and sure enough, it was ready when I arrived even though it was peak dinner time. The steak was excellent, and the portion sizes are perfect. The person who gave me my food checked the bag to make sure everything was there which doesn t happen at too many places. So delicious! I m already looking forward to our next visit.

Idk which one of you did it, but Ive finally experienced the horrors of a ZONED burrito. I thought it was a lie, I truly believed it would never happen, but it did. I wondered why one end of my burrito was hot and the other was ice cold and I should have questioned it further but I didnt realize what was happening until I got a quarter of the way through. Burrito started off with hot black beans. After 3 bites, I thought, Hmm, thats weird, but then I hit rice. Then another bite, more rice, and another... just rice. So after excavating my way through rice mountain, I got a piece of meat. Joy! This was also when I realized my burrito was zoned into sections of ingredients, and let me tell you the end of that burrito, pure corn, and Pico. Like, did someone see the burrito guys story and think, Hmm, lets see if anyone will notice. I noticed! Was going to be 1 star, but you got 2 for the bravado, nay, the balls to troll someone in irl. Whoever you are, you suck. Well played.

Went here for the 1st time ever today and I was very disappointed. The food was very cold, the dining area was dirty, the restrooms were extremely dirty. The employees have enough time to have the place clean since it was empty the only customers was me and my family. They were on the phone just one lady working the line area and it says kids eat free every Sunday and I ended up paying $15.98 for my 4yrs old food all it had inside was rice, chicken and sour cream. I do not recommend this place. I went since I heard that it was better than Chipotle but nope! Never again. Waist of money. We all took one bite and throw all the food away $48 wasted.

We visited after the traditional lunch hour but before dinner. There was only one other patron in the dining area. Two employees were behind the counter, and we were greeted, and our orders were taken efficiently. I had a salad bowl with chicken, black beans, guacamole, cheese, and creamy jalapeño dressing. It was fresh, and the chicken was great. My brother had a burrito and chips and queso. The table we chose had been cleared of trays and dishes but hadnt been thoroughly wiped down. I looked for another table, but they all looked to be in the same condition. We stayed and talked for a while, and no one else came in, which Id expect for the time of day. When we left, we cleared our table, and the young man behind the counter wished us a good day. I have been going to Freebirds since they only had one store in College Station, and its still a good experience with good food. Ill certainly return if we get back in the area.

Managers and general managers, this review is for your awareness... On July 18, 2023, at 7:50 p.m., My daughter and I came in and began the ordering process. I was approached by a white male with long brown hair and glasses. He flatly asked, What can I get for you? I replied, How are you today? He said, Fine, what can I get for you? I replied, I dont know yet, (giggled) thats why I asked how youre doing because Im trying to buy myself time (another giggle). My daughter laughed and said, I know what I want, so Ill go first. He continued to help her while I browsed the options. While he was preparing her food, I noticed the Cilantro lime rice was almost all gone except for the hard and dry, caked-on rice on the sides of the metal container. He was chiseling some off to give to my daughter and then began to serve her chicken and yelled to the kitchen that he needed more. Since he hadnt called out that he also needed rice, and thats the type of rice I would eventually order, I asked him if he has more of the Cilantro lime rice he then scoffed and said, theyre cooked at the same time everyday and he pulled some out of a metal warmer and set it on the counter and moves along to make my daughters meal. At that time, a tall, thin black female with glasses comes to help me and while waiting for my order, she begins to scrape the dry, hardened Cilantro lime rice from its metal container to put on top of the fresh, soft rice that the previous employee had just pulled out. I asked her if she could wait to do that until she makes my food because I dont want that old, hard rice in my meal. She rolls her eyes and proceeds to make my meal. The rest of the process with her was off-putting as she refused to show the slightest bit of kindness and proper customer service just like the male worker. I wondered what was going on with the employees here because every one of them (including the second white male and second black female that came out of the kitchen with what appeared to be frustration all over their faces). I couldnt help but wonder who the sour apple was in the crew that is ruining everyones day that it bleeds over into how they treat customers that they seem to not want bothering them. The irony is, theres Join our Tribe posters around the restaurant with pictures of crew members all smiling as if this is a good place to work for and/or frequent as a customer, when the reality is, they seem so miserable and irritated and have zero positivity to share with customers. I feel apologetic that I bothered them as a paying customer. Something isnt right here. I do not recommend this place based on the poor customer service and the old, dried up food with sloppy conditions surrounding the food theyre serving. Additionally, neither myself nor my (adult) daughter (paying separately through two different employees) were asked if we have rewards with Freebirds, which is very frustrating since we do and because of the poor experience I didnt get a chance to at least earn points from it.

Just done on the whole with corporate America in such a trying time right now to continue to burden the general public by passing on the need to pay on top of paying for tips at register... Food was cold, no measurements on food portions, more than once this has happened and kept thinking it was just a bad time we went, but nope pretty consistent with poor service, every table in non busy time not wiped off, even a dog who do not have service vests, all over the dining area eating food off floor, thats not a service dog. They are trained to behave in public. But never seen an actual manager in perhaps the 5 last trips..only hourly associates. Between the food well over priced, paid over 50.00 for 3 meals.. burritos and drinks..then asked for another 20 plus percent to be added to the ticket? For what? Shame on these businesses that continue to dig deeper into pockets of customers to pay their employees. Then to get such small portions, the salsa tasted old... Meat is over cooked and dry, yea I went a few other times with others not voicing my concerns, but the whole dog, cold food... Old ingredients...mix that with over priced, with tips wanted . Im done. Gave free birds at least 5-6 times to get at least decent food and service.. gonna spend more time at home, and when I gotta get a burrito... Taco casa, or any other general taco place... Less gourmet but at least I know what Im getting for my money and no tip asking. Not going back.

I wanted to give freebirds a try. I usually order chipotle but they had more keto options here. I ordered the cauliflower rice, chicken and pork and a beef burrito. The lettuce is just straight up shredded lettuce. The pico was just tomatoes. It tasted really sad. I also ordered a beef burrito and the tortilla was almost soggy despite me having no wet ingredients except beans. The whole thing was bland. I immediately regretted not ordering chipotle instead. It was just a huge disappointment overall. Lack of flavor, lack of presentation, just lack of everything. Sorry not sorry.

Placed an order online today for Family Meal Kit. It costs $39.99+ tax. I ordered this to feed a family of 4. Two adults and two teens. I received a small container of steak and a small container of chicken. This is definitely not enough for a family of 4. Called this store and was told I needed to call corporate because they have nothing to do with it even though they made the order. This store is not taking any responsibility for what they do. Ridiculous!!! I will never order from this restaurant again. Pics posted. This is Freebirds????

If you are looking for small portions this is place for you! Bowls are $15 dollars and only fill up a fraction of the bowl. Spent $45 dollars for my family to eat and had to stop somewhere else after because everyone was still hungry. Wish I would have taken photos... It was truly astonishing how little food there was. Next time you are thinking about eating at Freebirds just pop a Lean Cuisine in the microwave as it will surely be more food.

Nope, nope and nope. Heard good things about this place from a friend out of town so decided to try it. 2 different people portioned my and my sisters food (photo for reference) the only difference here is I got lettuce and shes got potatoes. The woman who did her bowl is very stingy about ingredients and gave her a kids bowl. The rice and meat is also not hot and all of them were cold unlike Chipotle. This is the reason why we dont like trying new places and would rather stick to what we know is good. The chips and salsa were also not good, its a waste of money. Look at the sauces on the table, they are nasty and they dont have lids on them. This place is no good not surprised not a lot of people was here when we are here. $25+ for what you see on the picture we didnt even get drinks.

This is and was my first and only time to visit this establishment as a whole. I will not spend 9 dollars on a burrito when I can go across the street to taco casa or taco Bueno and get the same burrito I got for half the price. Thank you but no thank you what so ever. Ive given this place 3 tried recently, and I just cant anymore. Just received my order via UberEATS, got nachos which come with queso on the side, open the bag....no queso. So now I just have some chips with some toppings. First time they left 2 brownies out of my order (money I paid for things I didnt receive) and the 2nd time they put barely any food in the bowl I ordered- it wasnt even half full. Extremely disappointed.

My experience at Freebirds was a very good one. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I didn t get names but the lunch time workers on 08/18. The meat and toppings looked very fresh and didn t disappoint on the portion size. The store was also very clean; smelled really nice. 10/10 would recommend to someone. P.S. the queso was bomb

Went today and had chicken nachos. They have been extremely stingy with ingredients this year. They barely put on any sauce, rice, beans, cilantro, onions, cheese, etc. If I wanted more than the two tiny scoops of queso I would have been charged. It didnt taste like much of anything. I felt like I was just eating some flavorless nachos. Same thing happened last time I visited, but I wanted to give them a chance. For $12 I better feel full. Ill go to a small business instead. Support your local taco place instead of this stingy fast food joint.

Edit: 3 weeks later Some coworkers and I went back again. I was hesitant. We were greeted immediately. There was an obvious manager working. None of the team that was there before (same day of week and time) was there now. People moved with purpose. They all had Freebird s shirts on. It was entirely a different place. You could see that from the jump. The food, as usual, was excellent all the way around. I ordered a Monster burrito for the first time in a long time and regretted it. I got about 3/4 of the way through and was full. But what was left wasn t worth saving but too much to throw out. It was delicious, though, so I ate it. That didn t feel good (too full) but that s on me. I took time to let the mostly new team know that the work and change was noticeable and thanked them. (Original review) Normally, this place gets a 5 for food quality for this type of establishment. I only like Qdoba better, but they arent as widely available here and it may be a lingering memory from days gone by. However, something has changed. I know in the post-pandemic world, workers are hard to find. I know to go and pick up and delivery business is higher than ever. That said, some stuff, SOME, should still happen in a retail establishment. The last several times Ive visited, there are about 6-8 people behind the counter. No one says hello. No one makes eye contact. No one says well be with you in a minute. Nothing. Several times in a row, flat out ignored. They are, however, talking to each other, making one to go order after another, and taking care of people who are not in the room. The folks in line, we just stand there, waiting, and even start to look at each other and shrug. Ive seen others do it, and today I was the one who did (along with my coworkers) and walk out. This should be straight forward basic opening doors for business stuff. Definitely no sense of a manager on site, any of the times Ive gone in the last few months, and especially not today. Also, Im all for freedom and happiness, but one of the people was wearing a Taco Joint shirt...which is a competitor in Dallas. And, honestly, really good. I wish I could have had a burrito today.

This is the best build your own burrito type place I have ever been to. They have a fantastic selection as well as constantly rotating limited time items. For a while it was prime rib which is when I was visiting the most. They also have a build your own nachos option which I havent seen at other places like this.

Today was the 3rd time we ordered delivery and something is missing. Today ordered a Taco Kit with flour tortillas. Guess what didnt make it to the house. I called and young lady answered and said they were really busy as I was explaining what I needed. REALLY. She said since it was delivered, (they put the order together), I needed to call the delivery service. Bad customer service. Never offered to send the tortillas or did I want to pick them up. I order the Nachos, I appreciate the quality and quantity. Overall it was okay but I have to be sincere the guacamole was partially a Mix and I understand, the queso was good but it had a strong cumin spice taste, the beans were good suprisingly but I could almost say theyre the canned but a good brand quality. I wouldnt mind eating there again you can combine and Mix the choices of your own preference. The servers were awesome and polite.The restaurant was nice and clean.
