Got to visit for the first time and it did not disappoint. We tried the spicy chicken sausage and it was delicious. Also their BLT was delish. We enjoyed an Oktoberfest fest beer and a Lager. Definitely recommend this place.

When was the last time you went to a pub and they asked you how your kids are. I only go here to pick up food maybe once every 2 weeks, but they still remember the handful of times I went with my kids, before Covid, for the best brats Ive ever had. Spend local, live local, love local. Best pub in the world! Cant wait to sit down with the fam and friends again. Update: still an awesome pub and fantastic brats. I do wish it could be open for lunch during the week since I work from home. A little motorcycle ride and a good brat is the perfect mid-day break from my desk.

German and German-styled beers plus German-styled food. Whats not to love about that? All thats missing is an oompah band and pretty girls in drindls! Arriving when it was quiet, I enjoyed a beer and then a meal. A fantastic pilsner poured in the proper glass. After that one was gone, I let the bartender talk me into dinner. I chose the plated schnitzel and she suggested that I have the mushroom gravy on the side. Wow, that was a great idea. I got to have bites of this wonderful pork plain and then have bites with the gravy. The small arugula salad on the side was ideal. A bit later, a second beer. So many to choose from on tap and in tins and in bottles but I chose a German import draft and it was perfection. From the worlds oldest brewery, Weihenstephan Kristallweissbier. Just beautiful. Friendly folks and maybe theyll see this. Stephanie was a delight and Adam was fun to talk to. Sitting out front and watching the sunset while sipping a beer was most pleasant. As the place fills up, it does get quite loud. Its all smooth walls that reflect sound so some baffles would really help. This is such a friendly and fun joint. Clearly a local favorite and I can see why. Parking: Easy parking in a large shopping center lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Step free access.

Excellent variety of beer on tap available and I took full advantage of this for my first foray here by ordering a Pils and Hefeweizen. Both were domestically brewed...and both were good. I also ordered a Weisswurst (white sausage) which I think may be a Bavarian (Bayern) thing. Was the first one Ive ever tried so I dont have any to compare to. It came on a wonderful pretzel (oder bretzel) roll (Brötchen) which was an amazing combo. Lead time for getting food is better than one would find in Germany, but you have to be a little patient by American time (unless you are from Tulsa...which I am). That was just fine for me as the food was worth the wait. In fact, when I think about food all I can think about is eating another one of their Weisswurst so I think I may either be addicted to them or haunted by them as it was so tasty (lecker). This may become a pilgrimage for me. Mein Pilgrimage für Weißwurst! I also had the dessert which was Apfelkuchen (apple cake). Im so glad that I opted for that as well as it was heavenly. Ok, so klappe zu, affe tot! Vegetarian options: I think I saw a vegetarian sausage option...if thats you jams. I didnt try it though. Parking: Plenty of parking...easy to get there and back again.

We love this place, go a couple of times a month at least. Food is great. My favorite is the Rachels Cousin sandwich, basically a sourdough grilled cheese with turkey and bacon and wonderfulness. Several authentic German beers on tap. I prefer IPAs, and they always have a few, can be hit or miss. They also have wine taps, and the last time I looked around a lot of the ladies were drinking wine. Service can be a little haphazard, but make sure they find you and you will be taken care of from there on out. Thankfully is more and more crowded lately, lots of cyclists use that parking lot. Back to the food... great Reuben, various wursts, charcuterie board, etc. My wife has grown partial to their version of a French Dip. Its a good place.

Excellent! Great beer selection. I even found a blackberry cider that I really enjoyed. Small, well curated German inspired menu. Pretzel with pub cheese and mustard was spot on! We were traveling back from Nashville (14 hrs) and wanted something other than fast food, but we had our two small dogs. I found District 9 on the web and called to see if they had outdoor seating. Josh answered the phone and was not only helpful, he told me to call back when we were close and he would place our order so it was close to being ready when we arrived. Josh came outside and greeted us, said hi to our puppies and was super friendly. If I am ever in Dallas again I will make this a stopping point due to Josh s customer service! So if you are not straight and white, do not come to this place. The vibe is very much old white man and if you are anything but then you will be ostracized. My partner and I spent a total of 18 minutes in there and could not feel any worse. Please uninstall District 9. EDITED 9/6/21: My partner and I walked in and stood near the door for a little while, as this was our first time in the establishment, and upon not being greeted by either of the two employees, sat at a booth central to the bar. We sat in that booth for 12 minutes, with both employees walking past us and speaking to other guests across the room, before anything was spoken to us. Furthermore, it wasn t a Hi , Hello , or a Thanks for coming in it was Did she already take your order? Scratch your head on that and tell me if that sounds welcoming. With a demographic so clearly homogeneous (from a glance around the room) it was clear we might not be welcome there, so sorry we didn t seem interested in waiting 30 minutes for a pretzel and cheese when there was warm food and welcoming faces a 30 second walk away. Hope that gives some clarity. :-)

Having been born and raised in Germany, I tend to be a rather discerning judge of German cuisine. District 9 Draught Haus is a little haven of German culinary delights in East Dallas. The service is caring and neighborly, the food amazing, and the atmosphere utterly welcoming. I was particularly impressed on how District 9 managed to strike a very reasonable, thoughtful balance between the dos and donts during the pandemic. This small local business is a winner in my books.

We have fallen in LOVE with this place! My hobby is restaurants and bars and it has been on my radar for a while, but due to Covid, just never made it. We went on a Saturday night to a new restaurant across the parking lot and I looked over and saw this place and remembered I wanted to go here, so we stopped for a beer. Best decision EVER! The owners are a local couple and right now we all have to support local. They are great, but so is the food! We came back a few days later and my friend and I shared a chicken sandwich...I think its The Rooster. It was so good that I texted her the next morning that I couldnt quit thinking about it. Weve been going to District 9 for several months now and are always pleased. Josh (I think thats his name) is our typical server, and he is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Their beer selection is fabulous (including rotating sours!) and fairly priced. We get all their vegan options (bratwurst, portobello sandwich, and burger) and they are all delicious. We got them as takeout for the first time tonight, worried that it wouldnt be as good as dine-in, but we were wrong! They separately wrapped the veggies and pickle to keep them fresh, and it was just as good as usual. Well continue to frequent this establishment, both in person and as takeout.

The mustard was just right, not too vinegar-y which was really tasty on the pretzel too. The potato salad was more like herb potatoes with a mustard flavor, waaaay better than traditional German potato salad. We got a growler of München Lager, the perfect compliment to our meal. Another patron at our Oktoberfest picnic ordered the cheese burger and said it was hand formed and homemade tastin . I can t wait to run through the menu of food and beers.

Do yourself a favor and come to District 9! You cant go wrong no matter what you order; it all tastes incredible. My husband and I wanted to try a variety--we ordered the bratwurst, cheeseburger, and the schnitzel plated. Its obvious the meat is high quality and shows in the great taste. The pretzel bun really compliments the bratwurst, which ended up being my husbands favorite. The dusseldorf mustard is excellent even as the taste lingers after swallowing. I really enjoyed how the arugula salad gives a little acid and brightens up the dish. It is a perfect pairing with the schnitzel, that is seasoned perfectly. Many places serve burgers but this burger was superior. The owners are a joy to be around! I love the ambiance and style as well. Its very welcoming both in aesthetics and a kind staff. With COVID-19, my husband and I have paid attention to which restaurants are keeping things very clean and following CDC guidelines. District 9 is on top of it and its a very clean, great environment. I rarely write reviews but take the time when a place is deserving. District 9 is top notch in every way.

Stopped in for a pop a few weeks back and had the Bratwurst. It was the best damn brat Ive ever had! Perfect amount of fat in the mixture. Today I had the brunch Schnitzel with poached eggs and hollandaise, and its hard to imagine they could have made it any better. So good!

Friend of mine kept telling me how good this place is. When he told me they have german beer on tap and how good the Reuben sandwich is I was sold. Sure enough I checked it out myself yesterday and maaaaaaaan was that the best Reuben sandwich Ive ever had! Atmosphere is great and the owners/employees are very friendly. I will come back again.
