Lockwood Distilling Co. exceeded my expectations on my first visit! Our bartender, G.G., was incredible she was so attentive and made us her signature shot, which was a huge hit with everyone in our group. G.G. truly added a personal touch to our experience. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Ms. V, who was just as delightful! She shared her love for the establishment, the owners, and her coworkers, which gave the place such a warm, family-like atmosphere. The distillery itself was spotless, and the vibe was cozy yet upbeat. Their happy hour menu is fantastic, offering a great selection of drinks, appetizers, and food. It s the perfect spot to unwind, and we ll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend Lockwood Distillery for anyone looking for a top-notch experience.

Came here for the bourbon not the food. Got the aged flight to get the ones they make. Straight bourbon is really good. Great mix of cherry, toffee, vanilla and caramel. Straight eye is good, but Id choose straight bourbon over this. Single barrel has a bite to it. Its only 100 proof, but it bites a little harder than you would expect from 100. I liked it. Bourbon cream is good. I think it would be better cold, so if you buy a bottle, put it in the fridge.

The service was friendly. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was good. I liked the spicy pickles. The outdoor patio is dog friendly. There was live music as well. They are a distillery so they had a large cocktail menu. The old fashioned was fantastic.

A wonderful local texas distillery with some fine and unique bourbons and cream liqours. Bourbons have a complex, and smooth profile. Nikki made me feel welcomed and was an excellent hostess. That being said the food was on the salty side. The bologna muffaleta was a heavy sodium collision with the cured meats and olive tapenade. The dirty south tots were also salty with too much smoked cheese. Its needs pickled onions, much less cheese and more hot sauce to balance it out. Overall Id still come back as long as the food gets fixed.

THIS REVIEW IS AN UPDATE: The Pastrami is extremely good, I could have used extra sauce maybe. It was very rich. The burger however is not very impressive, my daughter said it was mid. Im not a big fan of the menu options to be honest it does not fit my taste very much. Deviled eggs were decent but I dont like the sweet sauce on it that is weird.. fried salami bits on it are a nice touch. My wife had the steak and eggs. No seasoning on the eggs and the steak was a little chewy. Also chimichurri does not taste good on the eggs so the combination does not work in my opinion. She also ordered the pig skins but they honestly tasted like rice cakes Im not sure why. The only dipping sauce was a tiny amount of hot sauce which was tasty but Id rather have queso or something like that. The Thai Dag is the best cocktail on the menu. I would come here for drinks rather than food personally.

I have grabbed lunch at the Richardson location many times and it has always been great! Finally did a tasting last weekend and what a fun event. Tony did a great job sharing his knowledge about Lockwood as well as talking us through the tasting. Super fun event and highly recommend if you are looking for something different.

The shrimp & grits tasted amazing! Ive never had grits with season like that in my life. We also shared the chicken tenders which went so well together. The bread pudding was so delicious. Holy cow this was great. The food was fantastic. Try the tots out first! On top of that, we tried the aged flight and have really fallen in love with their bourbon, especially the wheated. It was pretty busy and had a little trouble flagging down our waiter at first but with how packed the place was I cant hold it against them. Took a bottle of whiskey to go and we will be back. Do yourself a favor and find the time to stop in here.

Tried to go to Lochwood on Saturday for lunch and to purchase a few bottles. As my wife and I were taking seats at the bar, the staff was discussing what movie to play next in the restaurant / tasting room. Spy Kids or Spy Kids 2. The staff working on Saturday appeared to be the youngest there (by several years) and were choosing the movie THEY wanted to watch based on the discussions I was hearing. My thoughts were: 1. Why is the staff choosing a movie they want to watch? Shouldnt they be focusing on the customers? 2. I had planned on having a nice meal and buying 2 or 3 bottles of bourbon. I really didnt want to spend my afternoon watching a kids movie while spending that kind of money. I have bumped my rating up because they did offer to change the movie, but if the primary concern of the staff is how their afternoon is going to be, there are plenty of other places for lunch and liquor stores for buying bottles.

We have been coming here since we moved to Richardson, but I had to leave a positive review after today s experience. Our food and drinks were excellent, but I have to give the highest compliment to our server, Blake! He was not only an attentive server, but so kind to our 3 year old daughter, Ella. More than once, he engaged her in conversation and joked with her, and made sure she had everything she needed. This extra attention made her day and really set Lockwood apart as a family friendly restaurant. We went across the street to Happy Hippie Brewing afterward and, realizing our daughter left her bracelet, Blake brought it over to us. Thank you for going above and beyond, Blake! The level of service will keep us coming back to Lockwood again and again.

One of staples and joys of Richardson! Ive heard many good things about Lockwood before I took my now wife there on a date when we were engaged. I can attest that Lockwood deserves all the compliments and more! My wife and I had a great time at Lockwood. The food was amazing! The Truffle Tater Tots are the one of the best appetizers in Richardson! The spicy chicken sandwich and the jive turkey sandwich were both delightfully savory and made to be great sandwiches. It had a stellar layout both inside and outside - even though we sat inside, I would love to come back and try the seating outside. The drinks were uniquely fantastic! We ordered the Lockwood 76 and another drink with pineapple rum (which I remembered the name )! Lockwood is great for dates, group outings, and bringing family visiting from out of town! We definitely want to come back to check out more of what they have offer. My wifes thoughts on Lockwood are below: My husband took me on a date here just before we got married. We enjoyed two amazing cocktails the Lockwood 76 made with the hibiscus vodka and the other with the pineapple rum! We also ordered lunch. He ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the jive Turkey sandwich. They were both fantastic! The food quality is great. We also ordered a side of truffle tater tots which was a delicious addition to our meal! We will definitely be back this year for more dates!

Great place! Had a birthday here for my wife, and they are extremely easy to work with and accommodating. I live in Rogers, Arkansas, and had tasted the Hibiscus Vodka at my sons house. Loved it so much that he gave me a large bottle for Christmas. I will have to stop in next time Im in the area to pick up another bottle. Its really a great drink with just a big rock. Wish it was available here.

Its ironic how sometimes distilleries and breweries have better cruisine than their food-centric counterparts and Lockwood is certainly no exception. We came on a Saturday afternoon mainly for drinks but were amazed at how delicious the food was on top of the great service. Some of their shareable plates such as The Grazing Board, Poblano Pimento Cheese, and Truffle Shuffle Tots were perfect ways to kick off the meal. And after sampling the Aged Flight, I decided to take home a couple bottles of their Bourbon Cream Liquer as well!

Went on a weeknight. The vibe was super chill. Heads up for those with food allergies - the menu looked delicious but there wasnt anything gluten free. Deviled eggs without the fried salami topping was my only choice, but the server was nice and maybe next time Ill ask if they can special make a salad for me. Drinks are good! Dietary restrictions: The menu offered no accommodations for food allergies/sensitivities, but my server was able to suggest something modified for me.

The service and atmosphere here is wonderful! We came on a Saturday night, no wait and sat outdoors since it was good weather. There was live music and people here are very nice. The Richardson mule was delicious - I appreciate that the ginger beer wasn t overpowering like some moscow mules can be. The dirty tots were classic shareable and we enjoyed them hot and fresh. The grazing board wasn t bad but was missing some sweet things like jam or plain crackers to balance out the rest of the savory board. Overall, a nice place to hang out with friends or do a date night at.

We stopped by Lockwood for an impromptu happy hour yesterday and had a great time! We had the pimento cheese appetizer which was delicious, and perfectly portioned for the cheese to match the amount of crackers provided, which was very satisfying! We tried the old fashioned, the hibiscus vodka lemonade, the turbo-tini, and a Mr. Sean. They were all delicious and very affordable during happy hour! The bar stools were a little uncomfortable, but it has ample indoor and outdoor seating, and would be a good place to bring a group! We ll definitely be back to try more!

Come for the whiskey, stay for the food. This place is absolutely awesome! I first went because I had tried their whiskey (the cream liquor is absolutely unreal) but their food is even better. Seriously, one of the most underrated places to eat in Dallas. The pastrami sandwich (really a dressed up Reuben) is probably the best of its kind I ve ever had, the club sandwich is awesome, the dirty south tots are phenomenal as well. We had reservations for my wifes birthday for what we thought was a tour and tasting We were informed we only had 30 mins to order before the kitchen closed, and then wasnt even acknowledged for 10 mins. During which time we watch a server and a bartender get upset about taking more tables. We are in the service industry and know when we are not wanted in a restaurant. So disappointed in both of our experiences with this place tonight Two of us arrived at eight and were told we could wait for a table or sit on the heated patio. We opted for the patio. It took 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Someone delivered drinks a few minutes later and walked away. The holly day drink did!n t taste like described and didn t come with the garnish, which made me wonder what else was left out. My husband s Cuba Libre was excellent. Almost ten minutes later, a very disinterested young lady asked if we were hungry. I said yes and she said, Well, do you want any food? It felt so awkward. I ordered my shrimp and grits and my husband ordered another drink. It took a while for my shrimp and grits to arrive (with no cutlery) and my husband still had no new drink. I received cutlery and ate my lukewarm grits with hot shrimp and sausage (as if the grits waited for quite some time to be topped). When I was almost finished, the waitress stopped at our table and said she would go check on the drink: After I finished my grits, I walked inside to tell her we just wanted our check and no drink. She took the drink back to the bar and returned with our check WITH the second drink listed. My husband handed her a card without noticing. Then I walked back in to tell her it needed to be removed. A few minutes later, a woman (presumed manager) stands in the doorway as the waitress brings us the receipt. She had already removed it. No apology for the wait included (20 minutes for a Cuba Libre seems surprising). We paid and walked out with no acknowledgment from anyone. Coincidentally, the only other table on the patio had their drinks and appetizers comped. I didn t expect that, but it certainly emphasized that we weren t the only people to receive poor service. We walked next door to the brewery and my husband called to order a burger to go a few hours later. Lockwood said it would be ready soon. He asked, Twenty minutes? They told him yes. He went over there after 20 minutes, waited about five minutes to be acknowledged, then waited another five minutes with nobody speaking to him, so he left and ordered dinner from the food truck. What a disappointment. We really wanted to love this place.

Great place, I cant say enough good things about it. We went on a Saturday night and they had live music that was really good. You can make a reservation on their website, which I dont think is probably necessary, but it helps if you know when youre going. We got the Dirty South Tots, Chicken Tenders and Flank Steak. Everything was great, the steak was cooked perfectly! We filled up a bit on the tots (and a few drinks) so had to get to-go boxes, which Im not at all upset about because it made a bomb breakfast Sunday morning! Parking: Plenty of free parking, shouldnt be an issue unless its really busy Kid-friendliness: You can bring kids, they do have a kids menu

Love this place! I used to mainly get TX brand whiskey from specs which is good, but the specialty liquors from Lockwood are really unique and different. The head distiller Jason is great! Their bourbon and vodka are two of our favorites in our current rotation. Plus good bites, live music and patio - super fun spot for a date night! Truffle sauce is greatest ever! The grilled cheese is really bad however with amount of cheese on sand which but I will say on tap old fashioned and burger were great. So wish could give 4.5 but good overall but grilled cheese needs overhaul. Bread is good but cheese is non existent.

Needs Better Staff! Visited last month-- mediocre food, slow service and they lost my credit card in the restaurant for 10 minutes. About 15 minutes after I gave server my credit card to pay for my mediocre meal, she came over and asked me if I had my credit card! She was looking under our table and could not find it! Then another server came over and asked if I found my credit card! Where my card was all this time I have no idea! It was very irritating and I was getting ready to call my bank from my table. They eventually found it and I called the manager over. He was very nonchalant about it, not alarmed, did not apologize, and really just kind of blew me off! How is this guy managing a restaurant??? The entire staff was SO sub-standard and I had to monitor my bank account the next several days because I was worried. They need to replace the manager and get some servers who actually know what theyre doing; the whole staff needs training how to treat guests. I will NEVER go back and do not recommend this place.

Seriously, this is our NEW SPOT! Walking in it looks like a hipster coffee shop, but you quickly learn that it is so much more. With paintings of Notorious B.I.G., Dolly Parton, Ace Ventura and Patrick Swazey, comfy corner chairs and an intimate bar, the atmosphere is anything but typical. The service was superb, EVERYONE was wildly friendly and informative, and the food seriously, the food. We had the Frito Pie, my husband had the chili dog and I had the *literal* most delicious turkey sandwich I have EVER had (loving named the jive turkey, yes, after Step Brothers). Pair this with their smooth vodka in their hibiscus cocktail, or with one rock and their easy to drink whiskey and you have an amazing experience at a local spot. Will def be returning.

This was the 1st time we ate at this restaurant. We were seated quickly & our waitress was right there & gave some great suggestions on food. The food was amazing. Our only concern is that once our waitress took our order, she played on cell phone & watched TV in front of us. I had to wave her down for tea refills & for to-go boxes. She didnt come and check on us til the end. She was very sweet, though. Suggestion-If you want to play on your phone, please dont do it in front of the customers. Overall it was a good experience.

I have been coming to Lockwood for the last 3 years and last night was my worst experience! The manager was so condescending and somehow it was our fault we had no silverware on the tabl ( we have to ask for silverware every single time we go) . The Mac & cheese tasted like salt was poured in to it. It took over 45 minutes to get our smoked chicken sandwich and it was cold. I will not be back!! I understand they have a huge staff turnover and totally understand with the manager we dealt with last night.

The BEST place for any type of gathering you have. Made a last minute reservation for 10 which they accommodated without question and even moved our party into a private room since we had little kids with us. The owners truly care about every customer s experience. The drinks are out of this world and the food is so much better than just bar food. This is a hidden gem for North Dallas/Richardson. First time at Lockwood Distilling Co was a few weeks ago for their delicious brunch! A few ladies and I decided to trip on over to check things out after meeting Big Tony at Urban Seafood for a pairing tasting he hosted called Tiki Cocktail Dinner. First of all, Big Tony was simply amazing. He brought great energy, very knowledgeable, had great self awareness of his audience (can you tell I m HR), very personable and over all helped make our experience a great one. So much that we decided to take a trip over to the distillery. We were intrigued by the menu at first but once those plates sat before us and from the first bite, each of us was amazed at the flavor and very satisfied with our meals we ordered. We ordered chicken and waffles along with the shrimp and grits. So flavorful, chicken was juicy not dry and seasoned. Delish!!!!!! We are foodies fareals!! Ohhh but those brunch cocktails yeah BRUNCH PUNCH was my favorite. We tried several others that were good. Lo and behold Big Tony shows up and showed out on hospitality along with the other staff members making us feel so welcome! He even gave us a light weight quick tour that was FULL of great insights and information. Shout out to the chef for selecting a perfect little snack for us come back crackers I they re called with sliced pastrami and sauerkraut (you talking about delicious)!!! We ll certainly be back! I happened to stumble upon this place, after work, for my birthday celebration with friends... it was a great find! Our orders were in at a perfect time and drinks were mixed well to our liking! (This was all from us describing our different preferences.) Loved the reviews, so I decided to make the 25-minute drive to try it out. The host was super nice, sat us down, and nobody came to us until 10 minutes later, after letting the host know and seeing other people get served that came after us, we finally get someone. He was just non chalamt, explained nothing to us as first-timers. Ordered our drinks, which were not good,had no flavor, pure alcohol (I get it, some people love this). I chose Lockwood Distillery for a fun Fathers Day brunch. The drinks were outstanding, but I cannot recommend the food. The kitchen is way too slow, and the fried chicken is disgusting! I told our server to let the kitchen know they need to replace the fryer oil. The breading on the chicken breast was greasy, dark brown, and burnt-tasting, and it was mostly breading! I found this place on instagram. A social media platform can only do so much. It seemed like a great environment with good food and drinks. This is an elevated subway at best with a distillery. They are under staffed and the older people working there are very weird. They only care about social media and not their product or staff. To be specific. I first discovered this place because they were selling a $50 retail bottle of wine for $9.99. I bought 2 cases. Although a distillery, they occasionally have these phenomenal wine specials. My boyfriend had such a great first experience at Lockwood that he brought me the very next day!! We split the chicken tender dinner which ended up being perfect! We each got two pieces of chicken, Mac and cheese, and tots which we upgraded to the truffle ones. Went for a group night out with 3 other couples. Had no problem making a reservation for 8. Table was ready when we got there even though we got confused and arrived 30 minutes early. I think Lockwood was having an off night. When we checked in with the host, they told us we would be seated next, but two other parties who arrived after us were seated before us. We were seated at a table that was right next to the kitchen and bathroom, and we did not enjoy the live music at all. So, I cant give a great atmosphere score. Our server was nice and friendly, but seemed like she had a lot of tables, because we didnt see much of her. We enjoyed the drinks, but neither of us were crazy about the dishes we ordered. A group of us of a certain age meet at Lockwood once a month in the early afternoon to enjoy delicious food and conversation in a comfortable environment with friendly service that is the perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. Vegans and Vegetarians rejoice! Lockwood has some amazing options for us. Start with their Southern Bean Dip: so creamy and shareable. The only menu item actually marked as vegan is their sandwich called The Big Vegan which is so delicious and smoky. Lockwood is a great place to spend an afternoon/evening, especially when they have some live music. The food is unique and delicious, but warning to those who dont like spice, if the menu says spicy they arent kidding. I love spicy, so I didnt mind, but friend had one tater tot and steam came out of her ears like she was in a cartoon. LOL. The spirits they serve are perfection. Since this is the main reason youre probably here, this is an important positive. I have yet to have a cocktail there that wasnt delicious. If you have the time, and arent the designated driver, definitely try their sampler options so you can taste the alcohol sans mixers and really experience the quality and flavors of each one. Note: Their cream liquor is insane normally but this year during the holidays they made a chocolate version and we were literally fighting over it. We only recently discovered this place and we only live minutes away... we had stayed away because it gave us the impression that it was not a kid friendly place (we have a 2 and 3 year old). We try to squeeze in a date night once per month without kids and usually pick Lockwood. Oh. And they have some amazing bottles to go. We recently purchased a chocolate Bourbon and let family try it. They were all asking us where we had gotten it, we ended up giving some as Christmas gifts. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, and they enjoy the live music.

NO NO NO!!!!! Its 3:30 pm on Saturday & they walked us to the patio & said a server would be right with us. Well, after 15 minutes of just sitting there, no one came to wait on us, so we got up & just walked out. The two girls at the hostess desk saw us walking out & they never said a word. We heard about this place on a radio station & decided to try it out, but with this kind of service, WE WONT BE BACK.

First time here. I usually drink a bourbon and coke, or seven. The waitress came back and said the coke dispenser broke,and they were trying to fix it. They gave up and went to the store, and I thought they would have picked up some mixer, The waitress said it was only ginger beer, no mgr on duty. Very poorly run. When I tried to pay the waitress, her handheld didnt work. I asked her if this was their first night open, I could see problems, she said no just a regular night.

Birthday treat The best kept secret in Richardson. We went 1 pm Monday. A pleasant atmosphere with great music but not so loud that we could enjoy our conversation. The food was extremely flavorful. Definitely our new go to for Date night.
