ok. omg. i was hanging on by a thread. coming in from chicago and struggling at 9pm. and then i went to the crafty irishman. i should have know that a man who crafts puts out the best of everything ever!!! i dont think i can recommend this place enough!!!! incredible food, incredible atmosphere. but! the thing that really made this place was the service. our waiter (vince, the baddie himself) was so attentive and kind and really made us feel welcome. even shook my hand before i left. i came in to the crafty irishman a pessimist, and i left an optimist.

Best Fish & Chips on the planet with a wide assortment of Irish whiskeys. Lots of other authentic dishes like Corned Beef and Cabbage, Scotch Eggs, Irish Soda Bread, and Irish Breakfast with bangers and black pudding. Service is excellent but the place is small and usually packed. Seating outdoors available. This has become a regular stop in downtown Dallas.

Recent visit: arrived around 11:30 pm on a Friday night and was seated immediately. Place wasn t crowded. Ordered fish & chips and corned beef and cabbage rolls. Food was tasty just like my previous visit. By the time we left the place was packed. Ben provided crazy good service. See you next time Ben and thank you! Good food, service and ambiance. Parking can be a problem as most places in downtown Dallas. Parking: Not sure about paid garage parking but was able to get free street parking right next to the Crafty Irishman.

I the vegan here. The service is always good, with friendly staff always checking up on me. The place is also safe. As a tiny woman. I feel safe here as the staff take out any trouble making guests. They protect their patrons who are well-behaved and not being drunk and violent. I cant say that for many bars downtown. Keep up the good work, Crafty Irishman. Vegetarian options: 2 vegan options, and Im not sure about how many are vegetarian. I dont eat animal products. Dietary restrictions: I have severe food allergies to onions and peppers. This place makes food fresh and will leave out anything youre allergic to.

I visited Dallas on business and The Crafty Irishman was close to my hotel on Commerce. Indoor and outdoor seating available with a propeller sized fan keeping the temps down for those braving the Dallas summer heat. Inside has a traditional Irish look and feel with cozy booths and long bench high tops. I sat at the small bar and was impressed by their selection of Scotch and Irish whisk(e)y. The Harp was top notch and they have an Irish style red from a local brewery that hit the spot for those who like a traditional malty pint. The Guinness looked good and was poured correctly. All the food around me looked great; the patrons beside cleared their order of mussels and fish and chips and I had shepherds pie that came with Chef s Sauce (Irish Brown Sauce). It was delicious and reminded me of home. I look forward to a return.

It was after 11PM on a Sunday night. Read that again. We were clearly in the hour of fast food and waffle house, but The Crafty Irishman said open and why wouldnt you at least try? Parking: we got lucky and found a spot on the street, just one light past the restaurant. Otherwise, it might be a challenge. As always, do your own map recon, or roll the dice and hope you get a close spot. Yes, there are homeless folks hanging around the area at this time of night, but we were not approached by anyone. We were greeted at the door by a friendly employee. He confirmed they were still cooking for some time longer and eating was encouraged. Plenty of seats available, so we took a nice booth. The chairs are tall, so if you have trouble with that or come in pre-sauced, just an fyi. The atmosphere was cool, and just what youd expect. The jukebox was fantastic, and it took me right back to college. Matt, youd have loved it, brother! Our waitress was quick and friendly, made suggestions and answered our questions. Brought our drinks right away, and then our appetizer. Side note: the spicy cheese curds are.....tasty, but spicy!! I almost forgot why I picked the place when I saw bangers and mash on the menu. Mrs Bear flipped it over and reminded me of the mission: the Monte Cristo!!! Now, Im an old Garfields and later Bennigans kinda guy, so thats my frame of reference. For those who turn up their noses at that, I fkn loved Garfields in Quail Springs Mall, and there is no shame in me for it! At any rate, this Monte Cristo was outstanding! Ive had a lot of half-a@@ed MCs since the early 90s, but this one was a keeper!!! Their brown gravy (for the mashed potatoes, of course), was easily the best I can recall having. Even better than when I do homemade brown gravy, which I am obsessed with. Mrs Bear had the triple grilled cheese and tomato soup, both of which she gave very positive reviews. They also serve Coke products, which is for us, a sign of civilization. I had a Belgian fruit beer, and it did not disappoint at all (sorry, dont recall the name, I quit brewing and mostly quit drinking alcohol several years back). To close this out: when ya roll out of a show, after seeing your favorite band at the House of Blues in Dallas, and you see its late, much later than you expect to find good food, take yourself to the Crafty Irishman, and have a great meal!! Everything about the place was enjoyable, Ill be back! (It appears they are part of several other Irish pubs in the area, two of which I have also been to and really enjoyed).

We stumbled upon the Crafty Irishman Public House while on a walk in downtown Dallas. The menu posted outside looked great, so we tried a few things. Nothing disappointed and it would be easy to go back a few times to try new things. We started with the Scotch Eggs, which were great. The sauce its served on was delicious. Drinks were good, the curry was tasty although a little sweet for my taste. The beef and lamb was saucy and tasty and even the Caesar salad was perfect in size and taste. We were so full, but came back later that night to try their bread pudding. Jameson custard? Yes, please! I liked it because it didnt have an overwhelming alcohol taste that some puddings have. It had apples and raisins in it, but was made so well that you couldnt really tell a difference texture-wise. Service was friendly both times we went.

Amazing food!! Parking is a pain. Small area with lots of drink options. My friends and I ordered the cabbage and corned beef rolls. They are egg rolls that taste amazing. The cheese curds were delicious. There was a spicy kick to it, which made them better. We also ordered the tomato basil and baked potato soup. Comes with brown bread that is so soft. Both soups were great. The main dishes I came for were the scotch eggs and fish and chips. Scotch eggs were soft with runny eggs cooked to perfection. Best Ive had. The fish and chips were to die for. To end the dinner, we ordered bread pudding. I cant even describe how soft and delicious that was. Everything was fresh and hot. When I say Im glad I live so far away from this place, or Id be so fat from eating there every day. Definitely recommend this place!

My first time eating at The Crafty Irishman and it did not disappoint. I m vegetarian so it s not always easy to find something to eat downtown. I live next door to this establishment and decided to give it a try and just do a pick up. I had the Happy Cow (plant based burger) coleslaw, fries, and the Flourless Chocolate Cake. The burger was not only one of the most delicious plant based burger I ve ever had, but the fresh tomatoes, lettuce, mushrooms and the red bell pepper aioli sent it over the edge. I did opt for their house bun instead of the rice bun and it was super fluffy. The coleslaw was spectacular, not sure what the dressing was, but it wasn t a reg slaw dressing like that fake slaw goop you see. This dressing was light, faintly sweet, almost like a sweet vinaigrette. I could eat that slaw everyday. And saving the best for last was the uber decadent flourless chocolate cake. If a dark chocolate Lindt Truffle could be a cake this would be it. Not too sweet, dark chocolate cocoa taste, served w a homemade sweet cream and the most delicious ice cream I have ever tasted in my life. I need to call them back and ask it it s homemade It s that good. Was totally not disappointed at all and will definitely eat there again and inside. When I walked in, it has a very homey Irish pub feel, with friendly waitstaff and TVs to watch your fav sports. If you are in the area stop by and try The Crafty Irishman Public House out! Vegetarian options: The Happy Cow Plant Based Burger. They also have a Vegan Shepard s Pie.

The decor is nice in this place. Good selection of drinks. The service was pretty good too. I had the full Irish breakfast which was one of the best ones I have had. Its not a super common menu item so its nice when you come across it. The only thing I would change is a bit more grilled tomato. I like when you get half a tomato but this was more like an 1/8 cut into a wedge. Didnt hurt the flavor but I like the mushrooms and tomato that come with it so no need to skimp. I also had a couple of snake bites to wash it down and for dessert their brown bread ice cream. The ice cream was tasty and different. I really enjoyed it. Its served with a caramel sauce. Seemed like they had a lot of good food items. I would recommend, especially if you want something a bit different from the typical BBQ and Mexican food that is so common in the area. I feel like Dallas is a bit expensive for everything and this place was pretty standard in regards to price. Irish breakfast, three pints (snake bites) and dessert came out to $60. I was happy though

For starters, it was a treat to walk into a bar for lunch to find out they had several non alcoholic beer options. The food was great. Fish and chips had the biggest piece of fish. Like larger than my head and was tasty, fresh, and crispy. Fried crunchy, scotch eggs were perfectly cooked and had good flavor. The cabbage rolls were seriously bomb. My bangers weren t as bangin but they had okay flavor. The gravy and mash were great though and the sauces on the appetizers were a delight.

We went with a group of friends and the service was awful. They were out of Patron and The beers that our group wanted. This was the thursday before ST. Patricks Day, and when I asked if they would have any by ST. Patricks Day I was told no. What kind of Irish pub runs out of some of the most popular alcohol the weekend of ST Patricks day? On top of that, they got our order wrong after us correcting the waitress multiple times that we did not want the appetizer, we wanted the special. We drive from Austin to Dallas every St Patricks Day to come here and I have never been let down.... Until this year. I am not sure if there is new management or if this was just an off night, but it was bad enough that we are rethinking next years plans.

Had to pay double price despite it being happy hour because its st patricks day in a few days, owner just want to scalp people. I do appreciate the waitress and manager who did help explain that though. Food

Please try the pretzels. They are hot and soft and delicious. Food itself is worth a visit. Exceptional service and a just right price point Vegetarian options: Yes there are options for vegans/pescatarians. Parking: It s downtown in the heart of Dallas. A little walk and you re there. Plenty of paid parking nearby

wait a minute! ! ! It was already late at night when I arrived at the hotel, and this was the only restaurant nearby, so I came here and found that even though it was a pub, it was American, but the food was so delicious. The fish and chips were the best fish and chips Ive ever had in my life, and the price was reasonable. I want to eat a full course at this restaurant. It was really delicious. The fish and chips cod has no smell at all and is really great.

My wife ordered the fish and chips which were great. A huge piece of beer battered cod and tasty fries. I had the Irish stew which was fantastic. It has more lamb than anything. It was in more like a broth than a gravy though but the broth was fantastic. They serve a great black and tan too. We will definitely be going here again.

The Crafty Irishman lives up to its name with its authentic Irish atmosphere and delicious cuisine. Today, I indulged in the Castletown, also known as the Reuben sandwich, paired with a side of fries . The hearty combination of savory corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese , and creamy Thousand Island dressing between slices of toasted rye bread was a delightful taste of tradition. The fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned, rounding out the meal nicely. This Irish pub is a must-visit for anyone craving classic comfort food with a Celtic twist. Cheers to a satisfying dining experience!

First off the service was excellent. These are some of the nicest and friendly people youll meet serving here. It was kinda slow when we arrived so the bartender came all the way to our table to see if he could get our drinks. I mean who does that? Kind people! Then the pretzel with mustard and cheese sauce was the star. Man was it good. I will remember that. Then my wife had a dinner salad with salmon and she loved it. I had the fish and chips with curry sauce on the side. I could have eaten the curry sauce out of a shoe. It was delicious. The fish was amazing. Fries were a bit soggy but they were ok. Plus they have Guinness Zero. Its a non-alcoholic dark beer. It was very good. Weve been back and had the pub curry and it was freaking phenomenal. Best curry Ive had maybe ever. So good. Back again and had a burger which was also very good. Their Mac and cheese is delicious. Had the bread pudding for dessert and it was the best Ive ever had. Bottom line this place is amazing.

The atmosphere was great, service was first class, awesome place! Kid-friendliness: Welcomed our kids & offered to make kid sized portions

In town for business. Stopped by here for takeout on the return walk to the hotel. Quick takeout service. Large portions, great taste, and all the take out utensils and condiments. Fun sports bar vibe while I waited. Would love to return with others to enjoy dine in.
