First time I tried them was at Choctaw casino. I am not a taco person but I have to say, these tacos has changed my mind. The flavors and ingredients mesh well together for a unique taste and texture. Also, the employees there are very nice and patient and greet you with a smile everytime. Im now a frequent customer.

The drive-thru is a little confusing. Its more of a pickup window for pre-ordering on the app. At first I thought the tacos were pretty expensive and they are. We tried this place out for the first time today, and we were very disappointed. 1. The overall drive thru experience was unpleasant. The girl at the window had no manners, and just seemed to be rushing us out the way. 2. We pulled over to wait for our food, and when the guy finally brought the food, he walked over, held the bag out, and said, Here you go, and walked away. Apparently, this staff was not trained well at customer service. 3. The food was ridiculously priced for what you receive. I was completely shocked when I saw the portions for the pricing. I was thinking ok, maybe the taste is worth the price---- no. It was over seasoned and messy put together. This just felt like a waste to me. I was excited to try this place, and Im less than happy from this experience .

Service was great, employees were friendly and knew to get us a chip refill at the counter without even asking (free refills on the tortilla chips!). We got 4 different tacos + queso blanco: Queso - just okay, bonus is the chip refill! Birria duo - comes w/ 2 birria tacos & consomme. Tasty, but wish it had a little less cheese and salt. Chicken tikka - nothing special, and it had a lot of rice in it, which we werent looking for in a taco. Chile shrimp - this was quite good, great texture and sweetness on the fried shrimp Chimichurri steak - the best of the bunch, and most taco like. Steak very tender and flavors work well together! This was our first time at Velvet Taco, but based on our personal taste, and for the cost ($5-6 per taco), theres no particular need to return.

We love Velvet Taco and we eat here every Friday. But, for the past 2 months my family and I have noticed that our orders (which never change) have started to taste different each time we are here. The menus is hard to read when everyone is hungry and you have two kids with you. Everything was overloaded with extra nonsense and out to the 5 tacos and kids quesadilla we ate a total of one taco. We threw $60 dollars in trash and left. I can t believe I was asked to tip the cashier 20% as the default. Our male cashier had more makeup on than a teen girl in the early 2000s. I shouldn t have to explain to my nine year old why the guy was wearing makeup. We re just trying to eat dinner without having to notice someone being different from everyone else. Not to mention the flies. There s so many flies in the restaurant. Also, the outside patio smells horrible since the it s facing the western sun and the trash can is sitting there with food in the heat. One and only time we ll stop to eat here. Horrible experience, and my wife wanted a refund. Doesn t sound like a bad idea. As of 7/22/24 we ve not heard a peep from the management or owner. Kid-friendliness: Some milk options or juices would ve been nice instead of soda. Simple kid friendly food options would help parents enjoy a meal out. I guess I would recommend that parents make an additional stop for kid food before visiting.

I ordered the brisket nachos and the Chimichurri steak taco. The (bite of) taco was delicious. After moving around some of the toppings on the nachos, I noticed there wasn t a lot of meat. What appeared to be a big serving of meat was actually a blob of fat. Whoever made the nachos should have known better than to place this huge piece of fat in an order.

Weve eaten here several times. Its always consistent. Ive never had bad service. The staff is friendly and quick with the order. The atmosphere at any given Velvet Taco isnt anything super special. Its a quick service restaurant, so the atmosphere is on par for that. Its not really a great place to talk for a long time. Its a place to eat. And that said, the reason we go back again and again is the food. 100%!! Love the staff, but its the food Im there for. Ill start backwards -- get the red velvet cake at least once. Its drizzled with caramel sauce. The icing is the bomb... love it. Moist and full of flavor. Get it! I usually eat 2-3 tacos. I will almost always get a kobe smash burger. Its my favorite. This time I also got the chicken and waffle. My wife will eat 2 picnic chicken tacos wrapped in lettuce (great way to eat gluten free). My daughter matched me with what I ate. A few of my other favorites: rotisserie chicken, quesa birria duo, sweet chile shrimp. You cant go wrong! Lots of options for all taste buds. The brisket nachos are also great. Give it all a try.

Cool little place with a ton of taco options. 4-5 vegetarian options too. We tried different tacos and some were better than the others. Brisket taco was amazing. Crisp and juicy brisket in the taco. Chicken and waffle was interesting but the taste just didnt cut it. On the other extreme, the Cuban pork was disappointing. Just cold cuts in a taco. Im always a fan of Velvet Taco for the various vegetarian options they provide. I am sure their meat tacos are tasty, too. The place is well maintained with plenty of parking lots. Has a maximum occupancy of 86 people and also has a separate outdoor seating. During peak hours, the restaurant is moderately crowded and has a good vibe. The staff members are polite, quick, and always to be found round. The tables get regularly cleaned.

Ive been wanting to try the new Velvet Taco in Allen since it recently opened. A student in my class gave me a gift card, and it was a done deal! We went there on a Saturday afternoon while we were out shopping, and it was a bit crowded and loud music, so we opted to sit out on the covered patio. It was a beautiful day, so that worked out nicely. The menu includes chicken, beef, pork, fish, and vegan tacos, and there are about 5 different kinds of tacos you can order within each meat group. I ordered a rotisserie chicken taco, and it was delicious! I loved all the flavors and especially the roasted corn pico. My hubby got the grilled steak and portobello mushroom taco and was disappointed because he could barely taste the steak. If we go back, I definitely want to try the red curry coconut queso and chips and the beer battered cauliflower taco! Oh , and definitely a margarita as well! A fun afternoon treat.

Its a little pricey... but well worth it! These are some of the most unique tacos ever. Weird combinations of ingredients that you might think wont work, but end up being an explosion of flavor. I have a few I lean towards. I have tried many of the different tacos. Some are way better than others, but your taste might vary from mine. Give the different tacos a try, even if youre on the fence. Some might surprise you!

I got the chimichurri steak taco, chicken tikka taco, and the queso blanco. The tacos were pretty good, both were very spicy! I expected it with the tikka one but not the other. The queso was very good too! I look forward to going again and trying other tacos.

Velvet Taco has quickly become a weekly stop for my friend group. The food is always consistent, and their rotating menu adds enough variety to always keep it fresh and interesting.

Seriously. I am in love with these Tacos! Havent had a single bad one yet! The queso trio is super good as well! Thats the Spicy Tikka Taco and the Korean Fried Rice! I love the flavors they assembled and how fresh the ingredients are. I kinda wish they offered a plate, but OH WELL!! So good!!

20 dollars for 2 small tacos and chips/salsa... what a ripoff! Still hungry and have to go somewhere else tp eat. Bunch of greedy scumbags. Stay away from this place!

The tacos are good! Ive tried 3 of the 4 varieties of vegetarian tacos and have been happy with all of them. So far, the cauliflower is my favorite, followed by the Mediterranean. The Nashville hot tofu is less spicy than the Mediterranean. Vegetarian options: 4 vegetarian taco options
