Great place for date night. Make sure to get there before sunset because it has amazing views of the lake. Patio is facing West so sunset on the lake is breathtaking. Make sure to Order the Pesto Flat Bread, Wings (Boom Boom Sause is best) and Nachos. Drinks were also good and loved the service. Kid-friendliness: Can be kid friendly however I would recommend it for date nights!

Great location. We went there for brunch. Although the server was polite she really wasn t familiar at all with the menu. She couldn t answer basic questions about the different options and had to go back and forth to the kitchen to get answers. Suggest you offer training for your servers to know more about your menu. Very frustrating. The food was great though and it was a really nice restaurant. Very clean and pretty much empty on a Sunday brunch.

Came in last night for my sons bday and the food and service was great!!! The manger and our waitress were great and personable. This will be one of my go to spots especially seeing as I work 5 minutes away. The food was hot and fresh even though we got there 20 minutes before the kitchen closed. We came here for the first time. There was no wait time which was nice. We were seated in the outside area and the view was nice, there are fans with mists so we were never hot. Our server Haley S was great, greeted us in a timely manner and brought our drinks and food fast. Very attentive service 10/10. The food was great, we all got burgers which were extremely juicy and flavorful, as well as the fries and nachos. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Will definitely be back for the live music Haley told us about!

I don t typically leave reviews but this one experience was so disappointing, that I just had to. We travelled from the other side of Lewisville lake and made a 45-50 minute drive to this location. Our friend group wanted to try something new. We arrived promptly before the dinner rush hour. We waited about 20 minutes or so, as we didn t have a reservation, which was no issue. The issue became when we were sat down and waited for a server to assist us. The hostess did provide menus only to realize that one of our menus had no menu slips in them. We waited for our sever so we can request another menu. We were sat up against the wall at the beginning of the bench, so literally in the middle of the restaurant next to a servers station. Since sitting on the chairs we had the tv right in front of where we sat. We literally watched a whole quarter of a football game just waiting for service. We estimated that we sat there at least 20 minutes or so! We were all observant enough looking out for our server that we noticed two other tables. Both of those tables of guests were were sat down after us but were attended to unlike our table. We made it very obvious that we were looking for our server, but it was like we were not there. Let the hostess upfront know. So we waited a bit more but just ended up walking out since no one bothered with our table. If you are a server there and see a table with no drinks, at least ask if they ve been helped. Thank goodness we ended up at one of usual great restaurant spots that turned our whole evening around because our trip to Rackhouse was a complete bust! Parking: Ended up parking on the grass, parking spots are somewhat small and limited for our full size SUV.

Stopped in for a late lunch today and I was amazed at the remodel and look of the place. The building has been in THE COLONY for years, but it has never looked so good. They have a lunch menu for $10.00 and so we all picked from that. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Jalapeno Cream Gravy smothering it all. It was all I could eat, and it was delicious. My friends both substituted the Mashed Potatoes for a House Salad which really looked good and was ample size. Our waitress s name was Dakotalyn L. and she was great. The lady next to us was celebrating her Birthday and they gave her a free dessert of her choice. Out came this huge piece of Carrot Cake with fresh fruit and berries all around it. This is a terrific addition to our little Town, and I invite everyone to try it. I give it five out of five stars. Keep up the excellent work.

If you re looking to host an event, this is the place to do it. My team and I hosted a client appreciation happy hour here and it went very smoothly with the help of Danny and Mimi! The food and drinks were amazing! In particular the frozen margaritas and buffalo dip that Danny recommended. Mimi was very attentive throughout the night making sure all of our guest had full drinks at all times. Overall my team and our clients had a great experience. Thank you Rackhouse! We will be back.

We were visiting family and had an absolutely lovely evening at the Rackhouse! Abigail took good care of use and we tried several of the allocated bourbons (great selection - reasonably priced). The food was great! We especially loved the chicken fried chicken and the chicken fried steak. Highly recommend this location for an evening out. If you can catch the sunset from the deck you will not regret it! Do not pass up the Buffalo Trace Bread Pudding!

We were in the colony randomly one afternoon and we decided to stop here. The service was great. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming from the minute We walked in the door. My daughter accidentally spilled soda on the floor and they were very attentive and kind in picking it up. The chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy was probably the best I ve ever had in Texas. The side salad was a meal in itself and loaded with toppings and veggies. The fried pickle and jalapeños app was large enough to bring home half of it! All in all, definitely worth the random stopping by and would highly recommend.

Great spot for date night or hanging out with friends. Beautiful view of the lake, talented musicians, lively atmosphere, and tasty food (top notch Buffalo chicken dip). If you happen to be there when Carli is working, do not order a beer or wine get a cocktail. She is a genius mixologist, Michelin star level skills. A master at preparing unique drinks that are on and off the menu. You will not regret ordering anything Carli serves up. I highly recommend the espresso martini, funky monkey pina colada, and something in orange. If you prefer whiskey to vodka, the espresso old fashioned she makes is outstanding too.

Went here looking forward to trying this place. Walked in, and no one acknowledged we were there. Decided to seat ourselves, and the staff was disinterested. Noticed that either the air-conditioning wasnt working or couldnt keep up. It must have been at least 90 degrees. Decided to leave. I will try it again when the weather isnt so hot. The only regret that one can leave this place with, is that they did not enjoy a meal here sooner. I watched with intrigue and anticipation, as the (once) abandoned building underwent extensive restoration. Day by day, my wonder grew, as the polishing of the exterior and hanging of signs gave a hint of what was coming. Fast forward to the present and, as mentioned before, I only wish I had made that turn and sat in this establishment sooner. My wife and I were greeted cheerfully by Abigail, sat expeditiously, and met with friendly but understated recommendations. As we quickly received our loaded fries (some of the best I ve tasted in years), we settled into the ambiance and felt reassured about our choice. After another brief consultation, this time about entrees, we salivated as we awaited to arrival of our main courses. Chicken Fried Chicken and Spicy Chipotle Chicken Breast soon arrived, with a fresh heat that confirmed the scratch quality of the kitchen. From the first bite, we felt a certain vindication one that is reinforced by a relief that comes from expectations exceeded. After trying so many overhype/under-deliver eateries finally, we gain the beautiful experience of plates speaking louder than words. As we finished the meal out with bread pudding heavenly, to put it modestly we looked at each other. The look in our eyes was of unfettered joy, synchronized in a fashion that leaves an imprint and requires repetition. In short, we ll be back.

I was in town visiting from Florida and stopped by this gem. Everything was excellent. We had the buffalo lemon peppers wings, meat loaf, Texas style chili, margaritas, the home made cheese cake is to die for and everything was really good I even went back and order cheesecake to go. Dont let the first approach steer you away. While the front of the building is not the most enticing thing in the world, its always whats inside that matters most. Let this be a perfect example. Im addition the atmosphere inside can be a little too much depending on what day of the week you are visiting. However those two things are the only negatives I could say against The Rackhouse. The prices are very modest considering it is a scratch kitchen, that being said, there are better places in Texas to go eat. But if you are looking to spend under $60 for two people on date night I dont think it gets any better than this. The value and quality is unmatched at the price. Cocktail menu is very inclusive but with a strict southern/western feel. Once inside the doors of the great establishment you will grow to appreciate the lack of aesthetic appeal on the outside. The walk to the front doors is also an appealing yet simple and calm experience. All in all my bullet points of pros much out weigh the cons. Almost forgot to mention how great the service is, its clear to me that the servers are not just random. They are trained well on the menu as well as tending to customers. Here is a list of pros as to why my wife and I will continue to visit The Rackhouse and why we will always tell people about it. -indoor atmosphere -food quality -value for the dollar (food and drink) -service -relative budget friendliness Check this place out if you can before they get too popular to visit!!!

1st time: amazing 2nd time: (Fathers day) waited 1 hour and 45 minutes and food came out cold and drinks took 25 min to get to table. No joke, 25 min man. 3rd visit: My pregnant wife wanted to do a to go order- every single item came out wrong even though the bartender read back a perfect order. I guess the cooks just can t read. I didn t leave a review last time on Father s Day but had no choice today after this disappointment. I wanted to give 1 star, but didnt because I dont read 1 star because some are ridiculous and fake, I want others to read my comments. Especially management. I gave the benefit of doubt that our server is fairly new, so I wasnt going to be critical when she didnt bring our silverware. My wife ordered the grilled brisket with fries. It was amazing! I tried the fries in which I found to be really salty. I ordered the Prohibition Philly with veggies and asked to not put salt on it. My veggies came out salty. The Philly was hot and looked delicious, but salty. The server came back noticed I didnt eat my food. I told her it was salty, she offered to make another veggie and I declined, bc I asked previously not to have salt and wasnt going to have my wife wait any longer. She came back a little later to see if we were finished, clearly I didnt eat the Philly, she asked if I wanted it boxed to go, I declined. She came back with the check and a mobile payment reader, with the Philly still on the ticket, she stood right over us while going through tip and rating. She said hopefully we will be back and have a better experience. I told her we wont be and were not local. She walked away with a comment of of course. I didnt ask for Manger because my wife hates when I do, so I didnt. This server needs more training.

This is opening in The Colony this weekend on Friday , March 22, 2024. The owner apologized for not opening originally last Friday, March 15, 2024. I will update this as I am going on the new date for their grand opening. UPDATE: Soft opening finally occurred Saturday, March 23, 2024. Food is excellent and staff are very friendly with customer service but slow when restaurant is full. Not enough servers when restaurant is full. Prices are average but affordable. Food was great! Had the Philly and Pasta with Chips Trio as our app. But the service could be improved. We had to repeat our request for more chips 3 times. Our waitress was in training but we would ask her and shed come back completely forgetting that we had asked the previous 2 times. Had to ask for a to-go box multiple times. Our Mozzerella Bites went to the wrong table so they had to make us new one. The table next to us had to have their drinks compd because they didnt receive them at all until the end of their meal. Gone are the smokey walls and worn carpet from yesterday. The Rackhouse has undergone a full restoration and it shows. Here are clean lines, great views from indoor and outdoor seating and tasty food. The menu could probably take a bit more tweaking, but they are definitely on the right track here. The Rackhouse is definitely a place to check out if you love patio dining. I was there for lunch and had the Smash Burger Oklahoma style(with shaved onions) and it was really good. I would love to go back and try something off their dinner menu. The atmosphere inside is great with each piece of furniture or decoration having its own story. Theres even an old mine cart thats right when you walk in the door.

Came here with some friends probably 2-3 weeks ago and was excited to try Rackhouse since we had liked the previous restaurant that was there, Lakeview I think it was. Our reservation started a little rocky- I was first to arrive and was taken to a table that was empty, but apparently a part of the table next its party, so I was asked to wait there while the hostess checked. But then I was just standing there awkward for probably 3 minutes while the filled table was looking at me and then more of their party showed up and sat in the booth, so clearly it was taken, at which point I went back up to the front to wait for a different table because the hostess hadnt come back yet. After that we enjoyed ourselves! It was very busy and quite loud inside, which in my opinion is a good indication of how popular it is. Our was good and our waitress was great. It took a while for drinks to come out, and my drink at some point had gotten abandoned at the bar so it took probably 15+ mins from ordering it to actually get it. When it came though it was delicious! Food was so good! Skillet mac and cheese- amazing. I had the beef roast with potatoes and not only was it delicious, it was a large portion so I got to eat it twice. Most others got burgers which all said were really good. The sweet carolina tots, also a fan favourite. Lets not forget dessert! Bread pudding.. to die for. Truly sensational. Cookie sundae: also big winner. Very excited to keep coming back and hopefully their rooftop patio is open soon, as Id love to come here for drinks in the evening!

Yes. You want to come here. You want to bring the family. You want to bring the friends. I hadnt realized that something had come here since the... Infamous Lakeview left here a few years ago. I am so so so glad that we gave this place a shot. First off, the service was great! Server, Haley, was on point. It seems like she ACTUALLY cares if we enjoy ourselves, that is so uncommon these days unfortunately but she was awesome. Randomly chatted with the owners and got a bit of history of the place since they took it over. AND THEN we got to meet Daniel, the restaurant manager. He might be my new best friend, dont tell him! We started talking about the things NOT on the menu. I got the Damnit Daniel. It was offensive in how good it was. Youll probably just have to ask what it is, but just look at the picture I put in the review. The views are spectacular, the ambiance is great, but ultimately if you want to come check out a place that is just trying to do right by their customers than just come and try it. You will be truly happy that you did.

I deleted my old review, as you responded with how well Jeff was doing for your company including acquiring lots of allocated whiskey for your so called whiskey bar and then you fired him? Doesnt make sense on why you would use someone and then get rid of them??? I hope you relationships that were gained from Jeff are severed and you learn a valuable lesson. Best Interest in your staff and patrons??? Jeff helped bring on a huge portion of your staff. Jeff also invited me and several other people to your establishment. He also had to help teach all of your staff about bourbon because you (Rob) were to ignorant on the subject to teach it. You (Rob) might be one of the owners but only from a financial stand point. Noticed it had opened and decided to give it a try during Mavs game 5. Great place to watch a game. Friendly staff and management and the food was excellent. Especially loved the jalapeño gravy on the chicken fried steak. Bartender had great suggestions on bourbon for an Old Fashioned. Fantastic selection. Only thing I didn t get was the bread pudding because they were out. That just means I ll have to get it next time!

Decided to try this location with some friends last night since we havent been to this locale since the restaurants changed. The atmosphere was nice and the renovation of the space done pretty well. We have to shout out to Tara because she was awesome. We think that she was a little bit overwhelmed with several of her tables but she handled it beautifully. We had a few of our drink orders delivered incorrect, but we believe the bar needs some work. Twice I was given an incorrect old fashioned, and my wife s last beer was definitely not a blue moon. The appetizers and entrees were good and we can tell it took some time to develop the flavors. My wife had wanted the filet but was told it was out of stock and for a place like this it was surprising. Still their sirloin was good. This place has been open for a couple of months now so we figured we may have come on an off night and indeed it was Fathers Day. Well probably stop by again in the future.

Kaylan is amazing! I hope managemrnt reads this review and gives her a promotion and raise! I am not sure what happened tonight as we have visited Rackhouse multiple times and loved the service and food but tonight some of the kitchen staff and manager walked out, leaving Kaylan (bar manager? I think?) , waitstaff, and remaining kitchen personnel to handle the busy restaurant. I hope the owners fix whatever the problem was as we waited a long time for everything, drinks, appetizer, meal, etc. However, Kaylan was clearly doing her best in the situation. The owner and staff need to read Will Guidaras book Unreasonable Hospitality. As it can be the nicest atmosphere, with the best food in town, but they will ultimately fail as they will lose customers by turning them away unapologetically. When the restaurant is at 25% capacity and they cant seat a couple for a stated simple dessert and glass of wine @ 7:45 pm without a reservation, well I wont be back anytime soon. Good luck, and you may want to pickup the suggested book, you need it!

Went to go in for a drink with my husband on Fathers Day and one dessert for my son and got turned away. Waitress said they were on a wait although half the restaurant was empty. We were confused thinking it was a joke. Expressed that it was our first time and thought wed have 2 beers and a dessert as the sun was about to set, but waitress said she wasnt able to seat us. Very disappointing and the waitress didnt even apologize. Looked like a good atmosphere, but poor customer service and probably wont be back anytime soon fear of being turned away. Went to Braums next door so my son got his dessert and got home to see the sunset with our own glass of wine.

The family and I were there for brunch on Father s Day, it was our first time there. We were really impressed. After reading all the excellent reviews online, we decided to come to the restaurant on Sunday for lunch. Was not aware and a little disappointed that we could only select from the brunch menu when we went to lunch on Sunday. They had a young man who was singing out on the patio, it was rather loud and hard to hold a conversation even though we were sitting inside the restaurant. Jacob, our server, made the comment that everything was freshly made each day, and nothing was frozen. My friend selected biscuits and gravy. She made the remark that the biscuits were a little on the hard and dry side. I selected the chicken and waffles, which came with a side of cubed spicy red potatoes and scrambled eggs. The waffles were cold and hard, had a difficult time cutting them up with my fork and knife, and my eggs look like they had been scooped up with an ice cream scooper, so I know they were not fresh. Our server never offered to refill our drinks and kept referring to us as honeys or Hun which is a kind of disrespectful I felt. I was, however, impressed with the remodel of the restaurant. Having the ability to open the wall up and let the breeze blow in from the patio made it nice and airy. They did a great job on the furnishings and decor. The Hostess was pleasant and very helpful. We plan to revisit the restaurant during the week for lunch or possibly dinner in the near future.

Ever since we saw that The Rackhouse was going to open, we have wanted to try it. We finally got around to trying it on Sunday 6/2. There were four adults and one 4 year old. When we got there, only a few tables had people in them and there were a few people at the bar. We asked for an indoor table with a view, and were told to wait while they cleaned up a table. They said a party just left so great, we ll wait a few minutes while they clean it up. It took over 10 minutes. When we got to the table it was still wet from them wiping it up so we had to wait a few more minutes while they found a dry towel to dry it off. Once we got settled into the table, there were several flies buzzing around the table. We had a table right by the roller/garage doors where there was a musician playing/singing (not really an indoor table). The flies were overly annoying so we decided to ask them to move us more interior to the back of the restaurant. We found a six top and started to sit down and noticed the air conditioner ducts had excessive condensation and were dripping down onto the table. So we thought a solution would be to put two smaller tables together that were adjacent to the one where the AC duct was dripping. The waitress seemed confused/hesitant to move the tables together but finally started the process and in turn she knocked a drink off the table and it spilled everywhere. Looking around, there were no more seating options because it turns out the AC condensation was dripping on just about every table. Granted it was a humid day, but it seems like keeping the exterior garage/roller doors closed may have helped that situation, but who knows. We decided it would be best to walk across the parking lot to Angelina s. The menu at The Rackhouse looked great and we were so eager to try it, but it just wasn t in the cards for that day. We still wait to try it, but maybe to avoid another seating fiasco we will try to go.

I had no idea that this place had reopened under a new name, but all I can say is WOW. It is absolutely beautiful inside and the food was amazing! My wife s food came out wrong twice. The manager asked if she wanted to throw it back on the grill, it was already overcooked. Worst part is we both got sick from the food last night and throughout today. I don t know what has happened from the first time we ate there to the second time, but it really needs to go back. I didn t see the manager who was there the first time who was awesome so, maybe that was the change.
