We absolutely loved our visit to Loro, which somehow managed to create an incredible buzz on just another Wednesday in September. The team are extremely fun, which helps. The patio feels like its alive, partly from the chatter of the other diners but also because the team are buzzing around creating the atmosphere. And then the food is just wonderful. The beef brisket and crispy potatoes were highlights for me, but honourable mention for the pork loin. And the boozy slushies are a cut above the frozen margs youll get everywhere else - go straight to the Vietnamese Coffee, trust me. A great concept, executed brilliantly.

Ive ate here 30+ times since Loro opened. Yesterday I went with friends that Loro has been a go to spot for us all for a long time. We found out that the ordering system has changed for the worst, some of our favorite menu items have been removed, the beers tasted off and luke warm, the level of service seems have declined, some items came out cold that shouldnt have and we were sure the chicken karaage has drastically decreased in quality overall. I hate that Im writing this because I loved loro. I hope this reaches leadership and I hope you all go back to the greatness you once were.

I believe this Restaurant has an identity crisis. They are not sure whether they want to be. Bbq place or an upscale Asian restaurant. When you walk in to the front door, you re not greeted by anybody there is no host or hostess, so you just stand there looking confused not knowing what you re supposed to do. The only thing you see are two signs at the bar that say order . That being said, there s no clear indication that a line should be forming there or if you should just grab a seat. Then the person you think is your server comes up and explains in the detail the menu items and what you should order. When you are ready to order they instruct you to walk up to the bar and order! How does such a successful great chef like Aaron Franklin put his name behind a concept that leaves their customers confused and abandoned? We saw another table being served by a server. ( inside information)Apparently, if you order drinks ahead of time from the Bar, and request a disc for your table, then you can order food from a server . But getting a disc is only from the discretion of the bar tender on duty. The experience is not fun or relaxing. The portions of food are super small, and the sides were over-seasoned. ( very salty ) The smoked and then sous vide sake can 1/2 chicken ( as was described to me ) was ok. The dark pieces were fine the breast piece (which was half of a breast) was dry. How do you claim to give half a chicken, when you only give half of the chicken breast with the 1/2 chicken ? So if I bring an 8 top in, We all have to seat ourselves figure out what we want on the menus and then go to the bar and order our food? How inconvenient!! To add insult to injury when you get rung by the cocky bartenders you are prompted to give a tip. Why would I leave 20% for no service? I am a Private Chef and often recommend restaurants to my employer and their friends. The food that was not over-seasoned or under portioned had good flavor profiles. That is not enough for me to come back or recommend to others. The over all experience was super lack luster. Also side note apparently corporate management was standing by the front door. They should switch the name to Bar & Asian Smokehouse. They obvious want you to go to the bar. Actually, I m not sure what they want. It s very confusing. What is the deal with ribs only 2 days a week a ramen 2 days a week? Why would a BBQ place only have ribs twice a week. These are really inconsistent messages. Bottom line, if you wanna be a barbecue joint, then corral your people into a line that is obvious, and weigh your food. Or, be what you wanna be, an upscale Asian BBq theme and have table side service. The fusion theme needs to be reimagined because the experience and service is not good.

This is the third time I have been here. Everything I have tried so far has been great. The portion sizes are the only thing that could change. I understand the cost of everything is rising, but here we are We had the marinated curry rice bowl with shrimp , and the Oak Smoked butchers cut The flavor of the shrimp is so darn good! The steak was good, but except I would ask the to sear it, so you get a great texture on the outside, while remaining soft and tender on the inside. I do appreciate their happy hour sapporos for $4 though!

This place is absolutely delicious. From the first interaction with the staff, you can tell they all love and care for what they do. The hostess and our waiter was extremely helpful for our first time and made awesome recommendations. I had the crispy smoked chicken sandwich, crispy potatoes, brisket tostadas, and then we tried the smoked beef brisket. Everything was amazingly delicious. The chicken sandwich is to die for. Hands down the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. They add the beef fat to the hot sauce I believe which gives it a great taste. Everything we tried was fresh and you could tell love and care went into the preparation and execution. Cant wait to come back and bring some friends. Their table set up outside was awesome for a beautiful lunch on a Saturday.

The interior is beautiful. The slushies are delicious. The asian / bbq fusion works great and the meats are delicious. My one suggestion would be to allow customers to determine the spice level (for dishes where it makes sense) or clearly state spice level on the menu, as most dishes seem to be quite spicy. Admittedly I dont have the greatest spice tolerance, but still.

Loro s food is hard to describe other than Asian-inspired and incredibly flavorful. Everything comes with a sauce that seems pretty unique, although I d say you don t need the sauce on most dishes I ve had. You ll order at the bar and pick a table in open seating, typically. We had the fried wanton chips and dip, which are a favorite. Crispy, spicy, two dips that are both great compliments. The Loro cheeseburger is one of my all-time favorite cheeseburgers. It s a fat beef patty cooked medium rare topped with a smoked brisket that gives you this intense, smoky first bite that ll make you fall in love. A must-try. The healthier side are the rice bowls. Spicy and hearty. Really good. I d say it s kid-friendly as long as your kid is a fan of spice.

Outside patio available for pets! Would be great to see some misting fans (or they werent on). I would recommend checking this place out!

My wife and I love going to Loro just about anytime of the day or week, but especially for the excellent happy hour. Its hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. Everyone behind the counter is super friendly, and the counter-serve style makes it convenient to drop in for a quick bite. The chicken sandwich and burgers are always great. The smoked butchers cut, pork loin, and brisket are my top three meat plates. Loros crispy potatoes are unmatched - best Ive ever had. The oak grilled edamame is also a 10/10 do recommend. The lemon zest really brings it up a notch. Unfortunately, they got rid of the best item on the menu. BRING BACK THE GRILLED ZUCHINI, LORO CORPORATE!!!!!!!! I cannot fathom why they got rid of it. Im a meat first person anywhere I go, but Loros zuchini was the best preparation of vegetables Ive ever had. Big fumble by corporate.

OK so I LOVE the food here, but every time we come, the ordering system has changed. It has been counter service, waiter, and online ordering through a QR code. However, this most recent visit, they changed to an absolute abomination of an ordering system. It is explained nowhere. No one welcomes you and tells you how to order. When you finally flag someone to ask, they sort of explain but they are also confused. We had 3 regulars and 2 out of town visitors with us and I felt embarrassed to bring our guests there. Here is the system: Go to the counter and start your order. They give you a puck. You have to close that tab immediately. Once you have a puck, you can flag someone down to open another tab and start ordering off of that. We were there on a busy Saturday night and it was CHAOTIC. If they return to a more normal ordering system, Ill reassess this review, but for now, be prepared for an absolute cluster if you go.

WHY would you torture us and put the Dallas East location back on the puck/order-at-the-bar system. Waiting in line and ordering at the bar *every* time you want to order *anything* (including one drink) is an asinine system always has been and always will be. Please bring back the BBot system. Look at Austin-S. Lamar location, the most crowded, dysfunctional system to exist on the planet. They use the puck system, and it SUCKS. Can t say worse things about it; most frustrating experience I ve had, and Loro is my favorite restaurant. That might work for the hippies, but in Dallas we mean business. The puck system ruins the whole experience every time. Make it easy and convenient on your patrons and go back to the AMAZING BBot system.

Really cool Asian fusion spot that nearly seems to be a Polynesian / Tex combo. Many interesting combinations here that I have not seen attempted anywhere else, which makes the food seem fun and like you are discovering something new. For the adventurous foodie who likes something new, you won t be disappointed in Loro. Parking was a pain, and though they have a free parking lot it was impossible to find a spot even at 5:30pm on a Thursday. I think they have a very popular happy hour. The ordering system here is unique, you order from your phone or at the bar, and roaming servers will stop by and ask you if you want refills, but none of them are dedicated to you specifically. You can see the whole menu by scanning a QR code on the tables. The food we had on this visit was all great, but the standout was the chicken karaage which was exceptional. Maybe the best I ve ever had, and i m pretty well traveled. The butchers cut was delicious, juicy and equal parts Texas tasting and Asian tasting. The portion was small, but this is appropriate here with the tapas / snack heavy offerings that pair with the extensive drink menu. Adult slushie were yet another fun option, like a slurpee with that good good in it. What a cool spot. We will be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend. Parking: Parking here is free, if you can find a spot.

Came here for the office happy hour invitation. At the beginning I didnt feel like going. I thought it was gonna be another overpriced over-hyped place, hard to find a parking spot or have to valet parking and the food is just okay... But when I saw the menu I was already salivating...Ok, I am gonna try!! As a Southeast Asian person lives in Texas for years.. the idea to combine bold Asian flavor and smokey bbq flavor was so genius! And I wasnt disappointed. Everything I tasted was so spot on. Edamame, crispy potatoes, wonton, coconut rice, shrimp curry, Malaysian chicken, corn frittata... feels like home, but elevated. The price and portion size is reasonable. The non alcoholic drinks are great, too. Service was super fast and the ambiance wasnt too overwhelming. I will definitely come back with my family and try different menu items. Thank you!!!

We wanted to try a new place and received a postcard in the mail about this place so decided to try it out. The experience was unique? The web based ordering and payment system is pretty innovative, but sometimes you want to ask someone how a dish is or what a drink is like or maybe you just need an extra napkin, you miss out on a bit without the typical waiter/waitress interactions. There s people running around bringing out other meals and drinks but it kinda felt rude to interrupt them. Overall the food was mid. I had the smoked butchers cut. I ordered medium rare and only 2 of the 9-10 slices were actually medium rare. The rest went from medium to completely well done. It did have a good flavor with the chilis and pickled onions were good together - 2.5/5. My date had the Malasian Curry chicken and she said it was pretty good - 3/5. We also ordered corn fritters and the grilled edamame. The corn fritters felt more like a state fair offering, but the aioli was the incredible - 3/5. The edamame was our most disappointing dish. We were expecting a robust spicy/salty/grilled edamame explosion but it was more just plain grilled edamame with a few mild almost flavorless siracha powder dashes on top .and it had NO salt. Who doesn t put salt on edamame?! - 1/5. The drinks were pretty standard average drinks dressed up to look a little fancier than they actually were but the flavors were ok - 2.5/5. Overall maybe we had too high expectations going in to a place with a 4.6 rating, but we left pretty underwhelmed and disappointed. Overall I d give it a 3 (average). If everywhere else we normally visit is booked we may end up here but it won t be joining our normal rotation.

Loro East Dallas seamlessly blends Asian and Texas cuisines for a dining experience thats simply exceptional. The modern yet cozy ambiance sets the stage for a culinary journey unlike any other. However, the experience is marred by the inconvenience of ordering by phone and waiting for delivery, which detracts from the enjoyment. Additionally, while the dishes are flavorful, some may find the portions to be on the smaller side. Despite its beauty, the restaurants unconventional ordering process, relying on phone orders and QR codes, may not suit everyones preferences. For those seeking a traditional dining experience, Loros approach may fall short of expectations.

My girl ordered steak bits bowl or something similar and was not told about the shrimp used in the fish sauce so she had an allergic reaction. Luckily nothing serious. Worth a try but not a good restaurant in my opinion.

Visiting from Cali, and we loved the food here. Everything was spicy, but the menu was very clear about that... also very clear of which dishes had nuts. My daughter couldnt stop raving about the pork loin dish and her friend said the cookie was just amazing. For me, the oak grilled edemame was the star of the show!

I live 3 minutes away and always wanted to give this place try. I stopped by during lunch on Sunday 2.20.2022 and got a Community (Honey Citrus Blonde Ale) beer and a Oak Smoked Beef Brisket burger (papaya salad, peanuts, chili aioli, Thai hearts). Atmosphere - I love the design. It s modern with lots of wood, plenty of room inside and outside and it s inviting. They play all kinds of music. Food - I like the beer. The burger is ok and a bit too sweet for my taste. If you like BBQ then try Terry Black s in Deep Ellum. Service - I ordered from the bar. The bartender who took my order was not very friendly (none of that hello and thank you). I was expecting a friendly Texan welcome. Perhaps I m too spoiled . I felt like I was conversing with an ordering machine. However, the waitress who brought out my food was friendly. Nonetheless, I would rate this place 3.5 stars and still recommend to give it place a try. Cheers!

This is a review of the server John, not of the restaurant. Food is excellent but we had quite a bit of back and forth/confusion without order. Multiple waitresses said they d return to fix the problem but didn t. In comes a server named John and he was excellent. So kind, so proactive, fixed everything and turned the entire experience around. When you dine here, ask for John.

There are so many great things about this place that I must categorize. Let me start by saying 10 out of 10!!!! Food- if you love spice then this is definitely the spot! The potatoes were crispy, the chicken was well seasoned and super fresh!! The rice bowl with shrimp packed a punch for sure! The Loro burger was delicious! The drink flight is always a must to get a taste for which one youll be ordering next time you come! Atmosphere - The vibes were great! Low-key lighting with sports playing on the TVs! There was a full service bar, and an outside seating area with a fireplace!! Summary - this place is definitely one to come back and try again! Great for meeting friends, dates and just going out by yourself!

The food is great but they absolutely drowned my karagee in sauce like a ridiculous amount that after draining off like 3-4 tablespoons of it out I didnt even care cause there was already plenty covering it from the tossing. Also like half of the karagee was lil tiny pieces of crisp batter it tastes good but for 13$ i should be getting more whole meat chunks. Popcorn is great but for 7$ its a lil tiny like sure it tastes great but like a solo cup worth of caramel popcorn is ridiculous

Food was overpriced and portions were way too small. No matter what they say, there are chemicals/preservatives in the food. A person in our party is sensitive to certain ingredients that were not listed and instantly got a migraine. They expect a 20% tip for doing next to nothing. I would pass on this place.

LORO Dallas is a delicious Asian fusion restaurant. I would recommend this place for a date night, girls night out, or catch up with friends. The food is flavorful and the meats are cooked to perfection. Do note that there is a hint of spice to the food. The downside to LORO is that the restaurant is help yourself - you have to get your own water and refills. For a restaurant more upscale, the servers should take your order, but it is convenient that you can order directly from your phone. It feels a bit cheap and to go style if youre dining in through. There is a free parking lot on site.

The food was really great but the way you have to order is a bit strange because it is through a mobile app. Personally I have no issues with digital ordering however there needs to be an update to the platform to allow you to easily split the bill between two or more credit cards. We had to engage the wait staff in order to make this happen and fundamentally this breaks the guest experience.

Had a chance to check out Loro in Dallas recently, and its a spot youve gotta try. Meet a few friends on their patio, which is perfect for a laid-back hangout. We munched on a bunch of appetizers they were amazing, but the real star was the salmon. Seriously, it was top-notch fresh, flavorful, and just what you want in a dish, that little crispy edge. The whole vibe at Loro is spot-on for catching up with friends and enjoying some good food, or a date! If youre in the area, definitely swing by. Its a great choice for a relaxed meal with a cool atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options. Staff is more than willing to take dietary restrictions. Dietary restrictions: Speak to the staff. They asked us first so Im sure they prioritize allergies. Parking: Parking was packed had to park on the street. Kid-friendliness: Stay away Wheelchair accessibility: Yes. Easily

Mayonnaise, vinegar, and sweet pickles everywhere. The potatoes and chicken were just OK. The salmon and coconut rice were delicious. The keylime dessert was delicious and the cookie was good as well.

Japan meets Austin at this slick but laid back joint. Choose a table and then order at the table via the app or at the bar. Course the order separately because items are delivered as they come out of the kitchen in no specific order. So you may get everything at once if ordered at the same time. Miso-Chili Tonkotsu Ramen with smoked brisket is a relatively new addition available only Tues and Wed after 4pm. It s EXCELLENT!! My other favs are Arugula and Melon Salad and Oak Grilled Edamame and the cheeseburger.
