Growing up & living on the texas coast has been amazing. Finding this diamond in the rough got my foodie antennas up. I figured my gf & I could eat here & try something new. Driving in sucked Huge dip to be aware of. Parking was great Looking at the restaurant from the outside was nice not knowing what to expect. Walking up the little flight of stares, opening the door to the first impression of the inside....all of this was nice Small kick back spot - feels like home We started with the Rockefeller Oysters or the equivalent....these seemed undercooked, but the presentation was beautiful. The little piece of bacon really makes these over the top on flavor. Next, we were served our salad..the proportion was nice on the smaller side, which was refreshing . Waiting for our fish & shrimp to be served, were talking & having a great time looking around & really excited about what this restaurant will be about. Rice seemed to be out of a box. Maybe even worse. It was very bland. The shrimp was delicious and edible. Now the finale The fried fish can be compared to h.e.b. or dollar store fish from the freezer section...open the bag, grab a fillet...soak it in water for days or months....then pat it dry with a paper towel...coat it with breading & deep fry it. This fried fish is the reason I decided to take these moments from my life. This deep fried fish should be the reason the owner of the restaurant reevaluates what it means to own a sea food establishment in a coastal fishing town or city ....seriously I felt embarrassed & disappointed...Id go as far as saying I felt disrespected by what was served to me. My gf & I have been together for over 5 years & I taught her how to fish... She loves it & we eat seafood like no tomorrow. We arent foodie snobs by any means, but we know quality . The owner should dig around & find shame for what they describe as fish. If you need a fish dealer for locally caught fish I will pay for my commercial fishing license & sell real fish to you . Im not joking. All I have to say has been written. Thank you Christopher Vela Oh and yes I did see the chalk board with the special...but thats no excuse.

Love Black Diamond when I want seafood, its always fresh, the fries are great and they have great lunch specials. Sometimes there is a wait for tables inside, but weather permitting there is also outdoor seating and the waitstaff is top notch. Parking: Parking available in front of and behind the restaurant.

Just a wonderful place to enjoy some great food and music. We stopped by on our way out and cant recommend the place more. We got the drum with the etoufee and it was mouth watering. Make sure to give this place a stop!

Andy guys is the best! Had the baked oyster sampler and it was incredible! Also had hush puppies and a couple other items. All the food was fantastic! This place does not look like a five-star restaurant, but the service is incredible, the people are super friendly! The food is done so well, I cant go on enough about it! The outside area is definitely dog friendly and when we were ready to leave, they fixed a snack for our puppy on our request. There was a good band playing and really comfortable atmosphere. Parking is easy! Highly recommend this place! As mentioned, it may not look like much on the outside, but seriously a diamond in the rough! If you are in the area you need to stop and experience Black Diamond! Parking: Lots of room in parking lot and no need for street parking

Food was good, there was no room inside because they were holding tales for a group, made the mistake of accepting a table outside and then just got swamped by mosquitos the whole meal. Left with about 20+ bites, take my advice and dont take a table outside. It ruined the experience and itchy for days.

Our server Aleida was phenomenal! Our visit was so pleasant because she was very patient with our many questions and requests also super knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. Food was great, we ordered everything from tuna, raw & baked oysters, and their daily specials. Sunday night was pretty busy and there was live music but no lack of service whatsoever! Will definitely be back!

Service was great, but what I dont get is all the reviews on how good the gumbo is. The shrimp and crab queso had more seafood than the seafood gumbo I ordered today. My gumbo had no evidence of any seafood, and actually had 2 small pieces of chicken. When I say small, one was the size of a dime, and the other the size of a quarter. This was unlike any gumbo Ive had before. The unsweet tea kept coming, which was nice, considering it was 100 degrees outside. I need to try another dish, but I definitely wont order the gumbo. These arent my photos of the gumbo, but I wanted yall to see what the gumbo looked like. Wheelchair accessibility: Im not sure where a person using a wheelchair would enter the restaurant.

Came here for my birthday and was so disappointed. The reviews were so good that to get every meal delivered to the table bland was very disappointing. We waited over an hour for our food and it came in spurts rather than all at one time. We ordered 3 dozen oysters and fried pickles as an appetizer. We got 2 dozen as our appetizer and the 3rd with our meal and the pickles came with the meal as well. The oysters had NO flavor and needed salt in addition to a few in each batch not being very nice at all for 30 a dozen! Once we got the food (fried fish sandwich, fried shrimp & Oysters, chicken fried steak, and 2 kid fishes) it was also bland and had no flavor. My husbands fish on his sandwich was not even fully cooked after waiting an hour for it. Overall, I cant see why this place is so highly suggested. The only good thing was the little live music they had but the mosquitos were so awful it made the atmosphere pretty miserable. Maybe they need to spray their outdoor area so guest do not need bug spray at dinner.

Looks can be deceiving but don t pass on this place. Service was very welcoming and we were seated right when we walked in. Our server was extremely helpful. They offer local brewed beers as well as specialty drinks. Breakdown of food: shrimp and crab queso was 3 stars. It had 3/4 whole (not cut shrimp) and possibly container crab (not fake but not sure if if was fresh) the queso was like melted velvets nothing special. 1/2 dozen oysters half shell (raw) very very good and great size: 4 stars 1/2 Rockefeller oysters they were freaks great size think they used cream cheese and not enough spinach but all around decent: 3 stars Special of day shrimp tacos fried. Very fresh very flavorful. The sauce was nice sweet added contrast to the taco itself. I would order these again. 4 stars Overall this was a pleasant place to eat and all around good food. You ll get moneys worth and be satisfied if you choose this establishment.

Jeana suggested the special Mahi Pontchartrain which was AMAZING! The sauce on that perfectly blackened filet was just unreal. She made a perfect Sweetwater Wave, Black Diamond s twist on an Old Fashioned, and she knew before I did that I had to try the key lime pie. Can t wait to go back!

Have been here several times now. We always go back because the food is so good. However, we had a pretty terrible experience today dining here for lunch. We had 6 adults and 3 children under 2 years of age. We were told to sit outside in 100 degree weather they didn t ask for inside or outside preference. When I asked for our party to be seated inside, the servers seemed very annoyed, like we were creating so much extra work for them. It took forever to get our food and appetizers. There was a long hair in my nephew s cheeseburger; they brought me a fish sandwich with the top bun and veggies (onion, lettuce, tomato, etc) missing; they forgot one of my dad s sides. It was difficult to ask our server for anything, including refills, because she would disappear for long periods of time. By the time I got a full fish sandwich (with brush bristles in the sandwich), my family was done eating and it was time to leave. I m not sure we will be dining here again due to the terrible service and issues with the food.

AFTER being seated, we were informed that the kitchen had an hour wait to get any food out. Stopped in @ 5 pm on Wednesday. The bar was full of locals having a great time. We were one of two tables seated for an early dinner. We tried an appetizer of fried pickles and the daily specials. Parmasean encrusted Wahoo ($27) and 8pc grilled shrimp ($19). The service was over the top. The dinners came out quickly. Each item prepared perfectly was delicious. All fresh caught and made from scratch. The portion sizes are fair, but unfortunately suffered from inflation (a negative). There were six tables for inside diners and the rest of the interior is dedicated a 40+ ft inside bar section. There is also an outside beach/tiki bar and picnic table area with a stage for live music. The sticky table and the bar raucous detracted slightly from our total dining experience. I can easily see this as being an awesome regular watering hole and bar for locals. With the right expectations, this would be a 5 star experience. $70 without tips, drinks & desert is a bit much for this diner.

This was our first time here. Saw it had good reviews and my husband loves oysters so we decided to try it out. Unfortunately we were both very disappointed. Right off the bat they were out of their shrimp and crab quest 2 hours before closing. We also ordered the oysters new Orleans. Those were ok. Then we placed our meal order. It took them around an hour to get us our food. I ordered the special that day - Mahi Mahi with lemon basil sauce with crab and shrimp topping. And my husband ordered the fried oysters. I know we sat outside but both were not very warm when we got them and my Mahi was killed. And by that it was kind of like a hockey Puck. WAY TOO DRY -OVERCOOKED as well as thr 2 shrimp I got with it. Ate half only because I was hungry and they were getting ready to close and i left the rest. My husband did eat his fried oysters although he didnt eat much of thr batter. Feels it should be cornmeal batter. We did have the crawfish bisque and the gumbo. Both of these did come out hot and were good. Anyway they should probably stick to the oysters and fried stuff and drinks. Food and the 2 drinks we ordered were definitely not worth what we spent.

Ate for the first time at Black Diamond about a month ago! Loved it! Shrimp were delicious, service was great and the staff was very friendly. My plate of shrimp happened to be a bit overdone but they brought it out with all the rest suddenly, here comes another plate of shrimp fried to perfection just in case I didn t want the others. I was amazed because I hadn t even had a chance to say anything .now that s customer service you rarely see anymore! We will be back! Thank you!

I have traveled around the world a couple of times. I ve eaten at 3rd world restaurants and I have never experienced such horrible customer service at any restaurant as I did at Black Diamond Oyster Bar. My son s last day of school was today so we headed to the coast to take a break from life stress. Unfortunately when we arrived at this restaurant we totally went backwards on our stress level. My 9 year old son didn t want seafood so I ran just around the corner to Chick-fil-A to get him nuggets and Mac and Cheese. I had already ordered $70 worth of food that was coming but I wanted to make the entire family comfortable on this first day of our vacation. Unfortunately, after the nice waitress had already told us it was ok to bring in the Chick-fil-A the Restaurant manager rudely approached us and told us we had to get rid of The Chick-fil-A food containers and throw the food on a plate. My nine-year-old son got extremely upset and started crying and refused to continue eating after the food was discarded out of the original containers. In the meantime our $70 worth of food had just arrived so we were sitting there with our oysters and other food and my wife had to take my son to the car and was not able to re-enter the restaurant I ate a small portion and asked the nice waitress for the bill so I could get it paid and take the rest of the food to go. Well, I was shuffling through my money and the waitress took all the food and discarded it in the trash. I asked her why she had done that when there were still six oysters and a couple of the meatballs left for my wife She did apologize and said she would pack a half order and the meatballs to go for me In the meantime, my stress level was getting very high and my wife was already very upset over the whole food issue. After an hour had passed another waitress finally showed up with my Nacho plate, which was kind of ridiculous after being there already over an hour. So I told the manager lady to please remove the nachos off my bill and she did so. Nevertheless, the entire evening was a huge fiasco. We didn t enjoy our meal, the manager lady upset my son and I spent a bunch of money for horrible evening. However, the waitress was a sweetheart. The food we ordered was very delicious, but the manager lady was horribly rude and inconsiderate to a nine-year-old child. I would return to this restaurant if this manage was not there. Darn she really screwed up the start to our vacation.

I went to lunch here one day a few weeks back with high expectations. The crab queso wasnt bad. Otherwise Id give one star instead of 2, because the cup of gumbo was offensive. Yes, offensive. Im from Louisiana, home of actual gumbo. This stuff here was broth with some vegetables, a few shrimp and exactly 2 pieces of fish (I counted). Id have sent it back (and I never do that) except that I came in to try it. Real gumbo has a roux base. Roux isnt hard to make, people. Theres gumbo recipes and roux instructions all over the net, people. Find some.

Great place to hang out and have a great meal, and listen to some live music on the back patio. Have a drink at the bar or grab a table inside or outside. I tried the gumbo and the boudin balls. Both were very tasty and made fresh in-house. There are lots of options on the menu to try. The gumbo comes in two sizes, and the boudin balls come with 6 to an order.

Unbelievable food. I had the trio of baked oysters, and oysters on the half shell, and an oyster sandwich. Every bite was amazing. 10 out of 10. Amazing place and a great staff! Will recommend to everyone who will listen.

My fiancé and I enjoy trying restaurants that weve never been to (weve only been in Corpus for a year and a half). The one we tried tonight was the Black Diamond Oyster Bar. The atmosphere was very laid back and was very inviting. We ate outside where there was a stage with live music. We had the ahi tuna appetizer which was so good. As an entree I had the crab stuffed fish fillet. I highly recommend this. I will definitely be getting this again. My fiancé had the shrimp and fish. He liked his very much also. Definently a place to go to enjoy great fish dishes.

As an out of towner, going to recommended restaurants is always a mixed bag. However, this was a wonderful suggestion. This restaurant is not part of the mainstream tourist venue. It is on a side of town that is part industrial and residential. That being said the bells and whistles were off but the food was definitely on. Three of us ordered the fried oysters and I assure you that I have never had oysters as delicious as these. They were simply fried but they were very meaty and the consistency was all throughout the batter. They melted in your mouth and at the end of it all, it left us all wishing wed ordered two dinners. Not because the amount wasnt generous, because it most definitely was, but it was because they were prepared to please the customer. The service was great as we were immediately met by hostesses who were very patient with us as we reviewed the menu. Ill be sure to visit this place again when I return to the Corpus area. This was one of our favorite dinners of all time! We both got the fried fish and it was so fresh and buttery. My partner got the fried shrimp as well and said they were perfectly cooked and fresh. The sides were also good and their peach cobbler was to die for. Our server was amazing and attentive, and it seemed that all of their servers were the same. The oysters were barely fried. The shrimp were ok the rice pilaf was subpar with no flavor. The best thing was the cheapest item, kids chicken fried steak fingers. The crawfish bisque was horrible with no flavor $56 dollars for horrible food. I want a refund but you know I dont wanna ask, we ate it.

A cozy little bar with a local vibe, but very welcoming to us winter Texans. Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for a snack and a beer. Had a dozen oysters, which appeared to be local, blackened gator bites and ahi tuna nachos. There was so much food we dont need dinner. Gator was especially delicious. Wyatt was the bartender, and did a great job. Very friendly and helpful. Beer was cold, food was good, service was great. We will be stopping again.

The service was amazing they were very busy and after a day of swimming we were very hungry and tired. The kitchen said they were behind and my kids were getting hungry but I didnt feel like the food took to long. I have waited longer at more expensive places. We had appetizers and meals and desserts. We didnt have alcohol. The tuna sandwich was delicious my son had hamburger was to big for him to finish it he ate the rest the next day. The woman who seated us was pissed off and took it out on us, so that was our initial interaction. The server, a blonde woman, was very nice and really helpful, so she made up for that right away. The food is pretty good, but $19 for 8 mediocre size shrimp is a little much. I had the blackened shrimp and fries, and it was fresh. The lobster bites were also pretty small, and we didnt get that much. Unfortunately, they were out of the special, and all they had left was Swai, which is basically a trash fish. Its definitely not worth $20. There are other places in town to spend $80 on some shrimp, trash fish, and a couple of appetizers. I didnt take a picture of the food because we were so hungry by the time we got it, we just dove right in.

Small area, people lighting up cigarettes and standing directly next to our dining table loudly socializing, wish wed chosen to eat inside. Mosquitos were enormous. Got the fried fish and shrimp plate. Fish was ok, as was the shrimp, but the coleslaw was bland no flavor at all, and the fries were not it at all..skinny, overcooked, and lacking in flavor. Would much rather have regular fries than whatever those were supposed to be. Oysters were great. The price was not worth what we got and experienced.

Got the shrimp and crab queso. It was good. Would have liked more Pico de Gallo on it, but the flavor was great. Hubby got the oysters on the half shell. Good flavor and size. Overall great experience! Our server AK was awesome - she made our meal fun and had a delightful personality. Our meal consisted of the shrimp sandwich, and the ahi tuna sandwich, both of which were served with homemade fries and were excellent. But the highlight was the oysters rockefeller - never had them before and they were delicious. Portions were large and prices were very reasonable; actually a little less expensive than other seafood places in the area. The building is not much to look at from the outside, but dont judge this book by its cover. Highly recommend!

The waitress was great. And for being right on the water I expected everthing to just be delicious but the food wasnt any better than here in Cedar Park. The fish was over cooked a bit and I had the blackened special which left a little to be desired. I also ordered the fried jumbo shrimp and oysters that werent quite right. I haven t been to this place in five years. It s STILL as amazing as it was half a decade ago, if not better! Drink deals are amazing (like $3 a drink [JAN 2024]). I am a guy who loves tons of flavor, and eating their fried shrimp and fish, I forgot I even had tartar and cocktail sauces because they were so juicy and flavorful. I had oysters on the half shell, obviously, and they were the biggest slimy globs I ve had in my mouth in a long time, not even needing their homemade cocktail sauce, but I still added some because it s O so good! Management is quite friendly and service was great! Outdoor back patio is homey and pleasant and they have live music Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Acoustic live music on Saturday s and I will be bringing my wife here for her 30th birthday this Saturday. Prices are so affordable, especially for the quality and portions of food you receive, that this will (hopefully) become our favorite date night restaurant! I know it s been a dazzling review, so I should make it a little real. The place hasn t been updated and could use a little sprucing up, but not too much to detract from the feel. And the French fries were good but a little on the soft side. Still 5 Stars!!

Really hoping for some good grub. Seems that the fish is all farm raised, so that was definitely a no. I ordered a chicken fried steak while my wife ordered the chicken fried chicken. Both were mediocre. If we go again well get a hamburger.
