We had a wonderful time celebrating my son s birthday. They have a very nice shaded area for celebration with fans. All the kids enjoyed the reptile show and feeding the animals. All the animals look happy and cared for.

A very fun and afforda me petting zoo in the Carridge Hills area! The aviary was a big hit with the kids. We went for a birthday party and they allowed a selection of 5 animals to be brought into the party so the children could see them even closer! Apollo the python was a great sport about all the photos!

So close and so much fun. No reason not to go. People are knowledgeable and friendly. Get up close to the animals. Tip: go early when animals are hungry and it is cool enough they arent sluggish. We did and grandkids 8 and 11 want to go again soon.

A fun little home zoo. Jeff really cares about his animals and if full of great information. We were early and he allowed us to enjoy their outdoor party space. It was shaded and beautiful and has a fan that brings the temperature down to not bad at all. Our kids loved feeding the birds the most. As a heads up there isn t much shade during the tour so bring your hats.

Came to visit with my wife and our toddler on a Saturday morning and it wasnt crowded at all. Lots of parking space and a super welcoming staff. We paid $8 per person. Totally worth it! They dont have a huge variety of animals (they have Tortoises, chameleon, snakes, goats, pigs, pony, iguanas, cows, porcupines, fishes, cockatoo, and some fishes) but plenty for toddlers to have a great time and interact. They sell $10 buckets of veggies for you to feed the animals (best part of it all especially the birds). The place is very quiet and surrounded with big trees so, not extremely hot during the summer but we recommend to bring water and snacks. Also, they have a shaved ice station with plenty of flavors. Loved it and will come back. Thanks to all the staff.

Best petting zoo in Houston! It s so obvious the owner has a passion truly for the animals and their well being. It s a small area but it feels so homey and welcoming! The decor, the layout, the landscaping, and everything is so well done. It s a really beautiful place.

This place is such a fun and amazing place!!! It is very kid friendly and the staff is SO kind and generous. They have a bird room that birds will fly and eat on your hands and a great petting zoo with goats, pigs and a pony. You can feed turtles and tortoises and it s a great fun and friendly environment!

It was okay, VERY SMALL. When it came time for the guy who was talking about the snakes to let my husband and daughter touch it, he just ignored them the who time. Im not sure why but EVERYONE else touched the snakes. Kinda funny to me.

As many others have described, this little zoo is awesome. Its right in Conroe and Woodlands backyard, not far and easy to find. This place is well taken care of, great staff. We hosted a birthday party here and the staff took care of everything. They have a great party area where they bring the animal encounter experiences right to the kids, keeping the kids very engaged and having fun. You wont be let down if you visit either to do the zoo or host a party.

I find it hard to find a zoo that isn t a little depressing, the learning zoo is a dream for anyone in animal medicine or just an animal lover to visit. Their husbandry and animal care is clearly off the charts, the animals are happy and adorable, the staff is knowledgeable and just so fun. We went for the Boo at the Zoo event and had a blast. The kids asked a million questions and every one of them were answered. I think the adults in our group had an even better time than the kids. 100/10 recommend visiting and learning all about their critters!

This is the cutest little zoo ever! The animals are so well taken care of and can I just say, the smell is not bad like a typical farm where pigs, cows, and goats dwell. Lol. The staff is very informative about the animals and interact with customers. Very friendly and sweet. You can feed the animals and it s very affordable for hours of fun with your family. It wasn t super busy when we went on a Sunday and my kids are already asking many times to come back again. We will definitely be back!

We celebrated my daughters 7th birthday party at the learning zoo over the weekend. It was such a wonderful experience. The kids had a blast. The reptile show was an absolute hit and they all loved the zoo afterwards. The party garden was beautiful and shady with fans which was awesome! The picnic tables were so cute! Couldn t have asked for a better time! From a parents perspective this party was a breeze. As part of your party package, they make a digital invitation for you, have plates/napkins/forks, if you re interested they will order pizza for you and pick it up. All I did was bring a cooler of juice/water, brought some cupcakes and a balloon bouquet. If you are hesitant, don t be! You won t regret booking a party here! We will absolutely be back! Great place for kids birthday parties. I don t remember exactly how I found out about this place but I m really glad I did. They took care of basically everything as far as party planning and execution. Kids got to have hands on experience with some really interesting animals of their choice and got to feed, pet and interact with a variety of others. The party area is intimate but plenty big enough for the 40ish people we had in there. Everybody had fun and kept asking about the place and how I found it. Drew was informative and great with the animals and kids, making sure the animals were respected during the whole process which is really good to see. We will definitely be back again and a few guest are already thinking about having their kids parties here. Huge r hanks to everyone at the zoo, the party was a success and you guys made it soooo easy.

Such a cute little zoo! We had my son s birthday party there and they were so accommodating. I mis read the instructions and arrived too early. It was not a big issue and our host let my boys in and showed them around. They took out some of the animals (snake!) and let my boys pet and take pictures with it. We had more kiddos than expected so they were helpful in making extra gift bags. They set up all the decorations, and taught the kids about certain animals of your choosing. All the kids at the party enjoyed it. We even had a guest arrive late and the staff were so accommodating to them. All of the kids at school were talking about my son s party, so it left a big impression on all of the kiddos. It was a very memorable, great birthday for my son. Thank you Learning Zoo staff!

Listed as open on Saturday. We decided to drive 30 mins so our two year old could see some animals. When we arrived a lady told us to enter so we did. After entering another worker said they were closed and kicked us out. There was no sign that said they were closed. I was frustrated and was rude for a moment which was uncalled for, I admit. I booked a private tour today for my sons 7th birthday. It was my son, my husband and myself and we had the whole place to ourselves!!! Ms. Starr was our guide and she was wonderful!! The animals are extremely well cared for and the staff is very knowledgeable about all of them. We got to feed a lot of them or watch some get fed and we touched and petted pretty much every animal there. Its very clean for the type of environment it is and the animals are very happy and interact well. We also did the Paint with a Porcupine experience and that was a lot of fun too. We had a great experience and Im so happy we got to experience this place. Theyre doing wonderful work to educate people on the critters they have and also to help with conservation of animals. I cant wait to go back and also take my 5 year old too.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We were excited to see it posted on their website that they were open for Presidents Day, so we purchased tickets in advance. We had a great time. This is a small zoo, so dont expect lions or tigers or bears (oh, my!). However, they do have a good variety of animals to learn about, including some pretty cool porcupines, pigs, goats, and a variety of reptiles. My son didnt see a sign not to enter one of the enclosures, and Zookeeper Drew was so kind about it when he explained to my son why he couldnt be in there. I really appreciate the professionalism we experienced, and we look forward to returning for World Tortoise Day in May!

We went to the toddler day and had a blast! My three year old loved being able to go into the pen and brush the goats/pigs. She also loved feeding the turtles and the pigs/goats. Went to a party where zookeeper Drew presented. He violently grabbed my sons wrist and held onto it tightly and scolded him because my son tried to grab the opossum. My son is barely 3 years old and it was totally inappropriate and unprofessional to grab someone else s child in such a manner. I will never recommend this place to anyone I know, other parents approached me regarding the incident and also commented on how it was not okay. To your response, you grabbed his wrist very aggressively. You did not need to put your hands on him in such a manner. Other parents who saw also expressed that it upset them they way in which you handled the situation. Again he is 3, and even if it came from a place of keeping the animal from harm you could have simply removed his hand from the animal without grabbing him the way you did. My son didn t even want to see the two remaining animals because the way you treated him.

To be honest- it s a cute little zoo with a few exhibits that are fun for the kiddos but overall, my son and I were kind of underwhelmed. I ve been wanting to take him for a while but it s an hour drive so I held off until he was a little bit older. He s a rowdy 3 year old, for sure, and he did have fun feeding the turtles, seeing the snakes and watching the lizard but we were there 30 minutes and he was bored. The main guy seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the animals from what I could hear but overall, unless you live a little bit closer than an hour or more away, it wasn t really worth the drive. I m glad we got to go to experience what it was but it s not necessarily made for rowdy toddlers. Now, the other, calmer toddlers, that were there seemed to be having a great time but my son just blew through the exhibits in 30 minutes so if you have a calmer child who is able to be in the moment and appreciate the zoo, I d say absolutely go for it!

Great experience. I love that the tour groups are up to just six people so it was only us. My three year old grandson really enjoyed himself. But then we all did! A nice pace without being rushed. I d never seen a hedge hog. She was so cute!

Amazing experience! Kids loved it. We did the VIP Tour. Got to see many different animals out of their enclosure and learned so many things we didnt know. Drew went above and beyond expectations to help us book our tour. Very knowledgeable and such a great personal experience. Its Nothing like a large zoo with everyone crowding around to see an animal. We have never had an experience with animals like this before. Definitely recommend.

Took our daughter here and we had a blast! Drew gave us an incredible tour. It is very interactive; they provided food cups for us to feed the animals. Also, we got to learn so much about the various animals & reptiles there too! Definitely will be back

Truly a great experience! Drew and Bekah are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about their animals and it shows! Most zoos have their animals in poor conditions but The Learning Zoo is an exception. This is how zoos should be run, with the animals needs coming first.

It was a perfect experience for both the kids and the adults. Because of small group, five people, the pace and instruction was spot on. Well worth the cost of admission. Everyone loved the hands on experience.

This adorable little sanctuary off the beaten path was a delight for a Saturday morning activity. The love and care for these animals made the time quite enjoyable. Highly recommended for all ages! Zookeeper Drew did a great job entertaining and educating the kids, enjoyed a 7YO birthday party with friends.

This place is a gem! Drew the zoologist is very knowledgeable. It s a family operation, they really care about their animals and their visitors. Positive interactions with animal ambassadors is what this place is all about. It s a strong recommend!

I cannot say enough nice things about the Learning Zoo. We held my childs party here recently and all of the kids and parents had a great time. The staff at the learning zoo is not only very helpful, they are passionate about what they do and they were incredibly kind to everyone. You can see the love and care that went into creating this environment. I highly recommend them!
