Last night ordered a 9oz filet and when we were cutting into it, it was really mushy and had a terrible texture. Would rub the steak in between my fingers and would turn to a meat paste. We let the server know and she was nice and offered to remake a steak for us but we declined and she said she would get the manager over as Landry members and manager never came. We got charged for a steak we didn t eat and as we were leaving we noticed the manager just standing and goofing around with an employee. Wont be back to this location for just that reason

Roy is everything!! I had happy-hour at the bar, and it was a great experience. This was my first time there, and I had crabcakes, queso fresco with brisket, a strawberry margarita, and an amaretto splash. Everything tasted fresh and was flavored just right. The house bread and butter werent my favorite but everything else was great to me.

I placed a online order to go on Saturday 9/28 for my anniversary. I ordered 2-12 oz steaks , side order of ribs, with loaded mash, mac n cheese, & salad. I also ordered a family meal of tenders with fries, mac n cheese, and salad. The food was good but the salads were horrible. The lettuce was old, the salad dressing tasted fishy, im not sure what kind of dressing it was but it wasnt edible as well as the salads. This was my 1st time visiting the location because I just moved to conroe. I hope that when we try it again that the salads are fresh because I really love salads with my steaks.

The food was not good. A chewy filet is not what I expected. The first steak had to be sent back. I ordered medium rare and it came out completely cooked thru. The steak did not taste like a filet either. My granddaughter ordered same thing and a strip steak came out, which was also sent back. Her sweet potato fries were so hard they were inedible. The manager came by and offered us each a free appetizer card. I said no thanks and asked for check. My dog enjoyed my steak. I will not go back to that Saltgrass. I don t know where their beef comes from, but I made better at home on my grill.

We come here a couple times a month. Today I took my son for lunch and it was awful. We found a clear rubber band in our rice and the ribeye was so fatty and raw. Management was aware of the rubber band and even brought it out to show me, I didn t need a reminder. The waiter was great and was very apologetic. Don t think we will be back at this location and that s a shame.

I super hate to complain and food service, but it happens. Wanted to take my husband to a nice dinner for our 15th anniversary. A major milestone for us both. Everything was great until after we had the quail appetizer. Our was taken late therfore we got served after most people that came in after us. Then, my husbands meal was incomplete. I finished before he even got the rest of his meal. My gift to him was ruined. Now we sit here waiting to see if mgmt will give us a discount. We are the kind of people who rarely complain and even tip beyond the 20%. Guess whats not happening. 0% tip. Mgmt came and tried to make amends. I know things happen, but I wish it didnt happen today. Food, though, was awesome!

Went and got on wait list, told it would be about 45 minute wait. No problem, Fathers Day weekend, understood. One hour later I asked where we were on the list. Was told it would not be more than 30 more minutes, we have to seat those who called in reservations first. What? Another 30 minutes pass and not only do they sit all reservations but everyone who came in AFTER we did. I asked what was going on and waitress said come look at a table we have and see if it s ok. First of all, if you were in doubt, then it s not gonna work. A four seat square table in a corner and we have a party of 5. We ask for the manager and tell her what s happened so far. She gets with head of seating, gets us a table, you guessed it, right in front of the kitchen door. Loudest spot in the whole restaurant. Meanwhile, there are two tables across the place that had no one sitting at it for the past hour and a half. So we sit, manager offers a free appetizer, hueso and chips. Thanks Meal comes out after 40 more minutes and to say that it was great would be a lie. Shrimp semi warm, mashed potatoes are old and semi hard. At this point, just wanna get done and get gone. We literally wasted over 2 hours on a 2.5/5 meal with less than professional seating staff. Good luck if you choose to eat there. We won t return, would rather eat at OutBack Before asking if I talked to manager, yes and that got us queso really!!!?

We ordered via GrubHub. Which we do quite often.but this was a first time delivery from Saltgrass. One of the worst meals we have had delivered so far. We don t expect it to be hot when it gets here but I do expect it to be made fresh. My husband s steak was tiny and overcooked. Looked like they had just cut an end piece off another steak but it was supposed to be a filet. I ordered steak salad. The cook on the steak was fine, but absolutely no seasoning on it. The salad had no dressing on it and it wasn t in the bag. The lettuce was disgusting. It had dark brown spots on it and one piece even looked slimy. My husband is a transplant patient. Lettuce like this could make me sick but it could cause serious medical problems for him This is not acceptable customer service by any means. Ninety dollars down the drain.

We came in for lunch, a party of 6. Everything was great. Our waiter, Devon ( gentleman with glasses and brown hair in case I got his name wrong), was the best waiter weve had in quite some time. I was given 2 $50.00 gift cards for my birthday. The package and receipt said $50 each When I called it said $50 each. When I got to the restaurant it was $25 on one and $5.26.(odd number and redflag) Customer service was very unapologetic and unsympathetic, say there was nothing they could do, and they didnt see that as the purchase amount. When I asked about the odd bal. And load of $5.36...they had no answer. Will not dine, or der from here again. So I have eaten here in the past. Most times its nice, food is good.. Tonights experience was not very good. Long wait, understandable on a Saturday,but after being seated and ordering, waiting another 50min- 1 hour was not what I wanted to do. We were told that the kitchen was short staff. If you have a short staff, why do your patrons have to suffer? Use fewer tables and give a great service. Too bad its always about the bottom dollar. The hostess wasn t friendly or welcoming at all when we entered the restaurant, but thankful our server (Ryan) provided us with phenomenal service he was very friendly, engaging in conversation with us and whenever we asked him for something he brought it out asap. Ryan definitely made up for the experience from the hostess without even knowing it. The food was delicious, everything came out nice and hot. My friends ordered steak and they cooked each steak to their liking. The prices are great as well for 3 ppl we spent $135

We took my wife there tonight 6:15 , 8 of us and didn t get seated for slightly over 2 hours, they kept seating small parties before us when tables would come empty, I sat and watched two tables side by side several times. They didn t try to but 2 tables together to accommodate us. They didn t make any effort to seat us till I started complaining after we had been there an hour and a half. And I m still looking at 2 empty tables side by side and took another 40 minutes to seat us. We just got home at 10:00, didn t leave there till 9:30 and all we did was eat. I am so mad. I ordered a patty melt hamburger and fries for $15 and it looked like something I could make at home, just hamburger patty and cheese between 2 pieces light bread, kinda like a kids meal. Needless to say my wife and none of us had a good birthday party for my wife. The entire experience was terrible. After we were seated my niece had to go find a booster chair for my granddaughter. How hard is it to just pull 2 tables together to accommodate a party of 8, not a hard thing. Terrible experience with way overpriced food. We ve been there plenty of times before and everything was ok, but apparently bad staff and management. Do yourself a favor, eat somewhere else, I will. Jan 7,2024

It was just meh. The decor was dated. The food was good but for the price I would hope so. It was nothing to write home about. The service was also mediocre. We had a party of about 16 people. It was slow in the restaurant and reservations were made before hand. The main server was very stern with us about not changing seats. I honestly felt like I was in school. I was a server for a couple years so I understand the chaos of having a big party with multiple checks and trying to not get people confused. It would of been nice to let everyone get situated first thou. Anyways once we all found our seats and ordered they still had to call out the food like it was being auctioned off. This is a pet peeve of mine, there should be a pivot point and absolutely no need for anyone to be calling out food. I ordered the salmon, it was a tad dry. In short everything was fine. Not bad but not great.

Last few visits at the one in Conroe was disappointing. Salmon was very well-done and dry. Onion rings were not crispy at all very soggy. Server missed a lot of request and had to ask several times. Just not like it used to be. Hopefully upper managers will get by and check them out.

This was the worst experience weve had at a saltgrass. Becca the waitress was sweet. The drinks were wrong both times when asked for condiments we didnt get them food took an hour to get when they werent busy at all. Hill country salad, brisket burger, and chicken tenders was ordered. Waited so long the hill country salad was canceled and swapped for a side salad. Was still charged for the full salad . Spent over 100 bucks and it was the absolute wort experience there.

Terrible place to pick up delivery orders from. Bad conditions for drivers. They make you mingle with the crowd at the bar to get the orders. The bartenders ignore you because youre not their primary concern. They need a dedicated to-Go area. Or they need to get off of the apps. Ill be declining while Im reclining every single time if the pay isnt there to deal with these people.

SAVE YOUR TIME AND AVOID THIS LOCATION. We love going to Saltgrass in Shenandoah but after moving to Conroe, we want to try this location, the 1st time we went here it was packed, no parking spot, we are already disappointed. My son is craving for their slider and mac n cheese so I placed an order online to be picked up. I arrived on an hour later but still on time, I checked in the pick up area but was told my order is not ready yet. I had to wait for another 15-20mins just for a simple slider with mac n cheese and side of fries. When i received it, i was disappointed again because there is no mac n cheese but i am not to wait another 20mins just for that! What a waste of time!

Updated/edited on 12/13/23 - The General Manager for this location, Heather, gave me a call today and we talked about what happened during our visit. She listened and took notes and explained what they could do to make sure this kind of experience doesnt happen to other guests who want to enjoy a night out. She was extremely pleasant to talk to and encouraged our large family group to consider giving this location another chance in the future. It really meant alot to me that she truly cared and reached out. Most places do not do that. We were there this past weekend to celebrate two birthdays. We had 20 people in our party and made a reservation two weeks in advance. We were put into a back room with the temperature set at 78 degrees so therefore it was uncomfortably hot. There was also another large party at tables seated right next to us. I have no idea why, but they only had ONE server waiting on both large parties! ONE! I have never seen that happen before at this location. I went and politely told the managers that we felt like the server needed some help because he just couldnt attend to everyone by himself. They said they would send him some help but it took several minutes for anyone to come over there. Once the lady arrived, she refilled a few drinks and then left. No one else ever came over to assist him. We had to get our own drinks off the tray as well as the bread because he brought it out and it sat to the side of the room for about 15 minutes while he was running around. Several people in our party never got the food they ordered, but then he brought out their side of macaroni in this tiny to go cup when he brought the checks out. At this point, everyone had a red, flushed face because of the extreme heat in the room. We asked for it to be turned down, but it never was. Also, the managers I spoke with never came back to our room to monitor or check on things. You would think if a customer comes to you and says this server is back there trying to serve 30 to 40 people all by himself, that they would come check on things and see how they could help. The rest of the restaurant wasnt even busy and there were PLENTY of staff walking around so its not like there was a shortage of people. It was a disappointing evening, but we tried to make the best of it despite all the issues. This Saltgrass location is where we have this large family birthday dinner every year in December. We have been doing this for years and it has become a tradition. After this experience, our entire party agreed that its time to start going somewhere else.

Place was nice but the food was not ordered medium well steak when I got it cut into it blood ran out of steak it was rare asked for a wedge salad they put basalmic vinaigrette on wedge salad the server was great just the food bad spent 50.00 for me and my wife for bad food manager didn t seem to care no thanks Texas Roadhouse for me they get it right

Went here on Saturday evening for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation, seated quickly but it went downhill from there. One guest ordered a Martini and it was wrong 3x before she gave up on the bartender. Another guest ordered a steak topping that didnt come out and then took 20 min to get out to the table after it was brought to the servers attention. The server was alright, but maybe they were shorthanded because the service wasnt great in general. Best part of the dinner was the queso with brisket, order that! Usually I really enjoy saltgrass, I guess every place is entitled to an off night.

Food was horrible, restrooms dirty, manager not helpful, server did well. Food was made incorrectly, flavorless. The only thing that was great was the salad and bread. Most items were overcooked, dry or lacked seasoning. The manager not once apologized, instead requested the server to come remove the overcooked steak, I overheard her. Once I requested they just cancel my food, she quickly said okay and left. Didnt even wait for me to respond nor apologize for the inconvenience. This location puts to shame the name Saltgrass.

Not coming back anytime soon. After attempting to order online four times, I ordered by phone. Was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. It actually took 40 minutes. By the time it was all said and done I had an hour and 20 minutes invested in trying to get a quick meal to go. What was supposed to be convenient enjoyable dinner turned out to be more frustration and not worth the money that was spent. My wifes well done steak turned out to be medium so she didnt eat it. What a wasted effort.

Been there 3 times already and probably wont go back. Everyone we know thinks its just fabulous but we didnt. The steaks were too red or too well done from what we asked for. I usually like tenderloin tips or steaks medium well. Thats what I always asked for anywhere, but there, both items are well done & tough. For the prices we pay Id much rather go somewhere else where we enjoy the food for less!
