The food was very good; however, our chips were bottom of the bag crumbs with few unbroken, full size. We were mistakenly charged for each refill, including top offs, of our iced teas and water, which once we questioned was promptly corrected by the manager with an apology. Make sure to check your bill! Our server was new, and he had to ask other servers questions while taking our order, passing out our food, etc. I am sure he will eventually make a good worker, but could have benefitted from additional training before working alone during a busy weekend, such as TAMU move-in weekend. I liked the high ceilings, concrete floor, and beautiful iron chandeliers. We will certainly give it another try!

If you haven t tried Maria s yet, you need to! My wife and I stopped in for a margarita and quick lunch after golfing one day and we are now regulars. We used to go to Gringos when we craved good Tex-Mex but after trying Maria s, we had no idea we were missing out. It s now a family favorite. The building is beautiful, great decor inside and spacious. It s a busy place but never feels over-crowded. The staff is always kind and hospitable. The service is quick and the food comes out *fast! *Which is only a bad thing because it gives you less time to enjoy a second serving of the awesome Red sauce (it s called salsa where I come from). Fresh update 8/27/24 - Cara (bar seating) was the best server we ve had anywhere. Nice, attentive, kind, fast and genuine. Give that girl a raise. - I ve had several things on the menu and each is delicious. My go-to is La Lisa Enchiladas or El Manuel Burrito, but I have yet to have anything less than awesome. And last but not least, the Maria Rita is great. Best House Margarita in town!

I tried this restaurant for the third time since the opening and immediately it took my waiter 20 mins to actually get our drinks out to our table. We then proceeded to order food and my friend asked if she could add vegetables in the quesadilla and the waiter told us they cannot bc the quesadillas are premade the day before and get warmed up when u order them so ofc she didn t order that.I then ordered my drink which was a double coconut rum w pineapple juice and strawberry grenadine the waiter looked at me crazy and asked me to tell the main bartender my order bc she didn t understand how to ring it in so i proceeded to do so and she grabbed a receipt paper and wrote my order down to then ask me how much juice to put and how to make the drink.I have bartended 5 plus years and know that u simply pour the liquor then top it off with pineapple juice and strawberry grenadine very simple and have never paid more than $8 -$12 for that specific drink. When she brought my ticket I was charged $19.98 for the one mixed drink so I asked the bartender and she said it s wrong the waiter should ve edited my ticket bc I didn t get straight shots so she would get the manager. We waited at the bar for at least 5 mins for the manager to look at me and say the drink is correct is should be $20 and that she couldn t edit it bc that s how much it cost and didn t care to break it down for me and let me know why it cost so much when a large marg was $13.Customer service was very rude and the two waiters proceeded to point and laugh at our table and neither made an effort to clear up the confusion with the miscommunication on anything.Definitely will not be going back again.

Truly some of the best Tex Mex I ever had! For those foodies that have experienced Momma Ninfas, Maria Mia s will flood your memory pallet with the smells and tastes of days gone by. From Maria Mia s queso, to the unique blend of flour and corn chips on your table, your taste bud will anxiously anticipate the main course as the aroma of freshly cooked meals are brought to your table. The mixture of spices and uniquely TexMex recipes will never match up to previous experiences. Don t hesitate if given the opportunity to pay a visit Maria Mia s. You will not regret it!

Waiter was kind, but the food was ridiculously overpriced and not worth it at all. Ordered beef fajita nachos, I got 10 chips drowned in refried beans, with maybe a 1/2 cup of fajita beef. Was not worth the $16 they want for it. Will not return.

The service was great. The food came out fast and the waitress was very polite and present. The food though was really underwhelming. The meat for the fajitas was not seasoned at all, and the onions and 2 slices of green pepper given were basically raw. The homemade tortillas were good though.

Located in the former location of Ninfas, we stopped for dinner while traveling through CSTAT headed back to DFW. Chips and salsa were solid as they offered both red and green salsa (think former green sauce at Ninfas). Red was served warm, which Im not really a fan, but great flavor and spice. I had a combo plate of soft beef taco and cheese enchiladas. Portions are large and tortillas are handmade, reminiscent and similar to Ninfas tortillas. Ground taco beef was flavorful, but when they serve taco laying next to beans and enchiladas, I had to order an extra tortilla because original offering got soggy. Enchiladas were larger than normal, but stringy cheese made eating somewhat a chewy experience. Rice and refried beans were typical Mexican fare. My wife had the ground beef chili relleno, which consisted of (2) large stuffed chilies. Very flavorful and she should only eat one, so leftovers for next days lunch. Only real complaint was service, which was just OK. Young lady seemed very disinterested in her job, non-engaging , just there to take an order. I had to ask a manager for tea refills and additional chips, but could see server just standing by kitchen on her phone. Im generally a 30-50% tipper, but she certainly missed that opportunity. Lastly, although we did not order, the table next to us got the fajitas and they looked amazing. And the condiment platter of sour cream, guacamole, cheese as HUGE, unlike other places where you have to ration your toppings. Will definitely give this a try on our next visit to CSTAT in June.

My wife and I had dinner here and couldnt have chosen a better day we were sat immediately and not even 2 minutes later we had our server. Starting things off with 2 margaritas the green apple was something different but taste really good but the watermelon on ice was by far better, we ordered food next and because it wasnt so packed we got our food in great time, the El Manuel burrito was stuffed with refried beans and chunks of fajita meat with a heavy scoop of queso on top I didnt put my fork down until it was gone. I will definitely be returning for more great times there.

Honestly, I should have known better but Idecided what the hell for a quick lunch. There was literally zero seasoning in everything. The rice and beans, fajitas and even the cheese enchiladas were bland. The best tasting part of our meal were the grilled onions on the fajita plate. They served the sour cream, guacamole and pico in like a little tortilla shell on the hot plate so obviously what do think happened, they were extremely warm, ew gross, and the bottom of the tortilla was stuck and fell off so we were even unable to remove it. The hot plates are also destroying the finish on their tables which leaves flaky residue all over the table and you. The service was fast, once we were finally greeted at the table, but our server barely spoke and when he did he was really quiet and again, had zero personality which I guess matched the theme of the visit. 3 pros: 1.They put a lot of cheese in the enchiladas which almost bordered on a negative depending on preference because it was aggressively present. 2. The green sauce is reminiscent of Casa Oles which I know a lot of people love. 3. The fajita meat was cooked well.

Thank goodness for the man busing the tables who brought chips and salsa, which tasted great. I asked the hostess to bring me 2 glasses of water and to take our order. She said she would go get the waitress who still didn t show up! We left to go find food at 2:15pm. Unbelievable! How sad. I really like their food! I ve never had such lack of service!

The food here is sad, Everything was drowning in sauce, and somehow still dry. Flavors we lacking or too much. Mex rice was dry and flavorless. Beans tasted canned. Tamales were fat in the center with dry filling, and the ends were a mouth full of mushy masa. Chicken enchiladas had dry chicken and way too much sour cream. Carnigasada was drowning in sauce, with a very unpleasant spice flavor. It was so much spice that it overwelled all the other flavors. Hand-made tortillas were okay a bit tough. I will not be going back. I recommend no one to go here. I ate a quarter of my plate and couldnt stomach anymore. The service was great. BRI was amazing, super sweet. Had answers to everything. Environment was breathtaking, but it felt more like an Italy or Steakhouse type restraunt, not mex/ texmex.

Really glad I decided to watch Tiktok to get restaurant suggestions! The very first video to pop up, recommended Maria Mias. We decided to give it a try. I asked the waitress what she thought was the best item on the menu, she suggested the crawfish enchiladas. Delicious!!! The rice could have used a tad bit more flavor, but the enchiladas definitely made up for them. The queso with the flour tortilla chips started the meal off great! They also have excellent sweet tea. Overall great experience.

Maria Mia had everything a restaurant should have: An enjoyably quiet atmosphere without raucous music, reasonably priced meals, especially given the truly large portion sizes, and most importantly we had an attentive server who not only was competent her name was Callie M. by the eay in handling a larger party of five adults and two children, but did so without the requisite who had what drill that some servers find difficulty in overcoming. Maria Mia s is not just your run of the mill Tex-Mex restaurant. The variety of dishes and unique preparations and combinations surpasses all expectations. And I said before, the quality, taste and portion sizes are unsurpassed in BCS. Mexican food, in large portions at a reasonable price served by folks like Callie in an enjoyable atmosphere. I m definitely going back.

I got nostalgic for these as They looked and tasted the same as back when I was a kid. Other wise great atmosphere. The steak was grilled perfectly and was tender and not dry. The chicken was grilled perfectly as well. Blake was on point with what was popular on the menu. I may have to come back on a Friday for dinner and stay for dancing from 10pm to 2am. Maria Mia Tex-Mex Cantina is a fusion of classic Mexican and Tex-Mex. The food is outstanding. The dining area is clean, spacious and well maintained. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. The Ceviche from the appetizer menu could easily be an entrée. The Chile Rellenos have a thin breading and the Poblano pepper is cooked but still has firm texture. The burritos are massive. The Carne Guisada is available in mild or spicy. Be careful the spicy builds and builds and builds, its excellent. The enchiladas, tacos, fajitas are all extraordinary. I absolutely recommend Maria Mia!

She already knew what we needed before we asked. To top that, Ms. Sharon, in true southern/Texas charm, came to our table to make sure the food was up to our expectations. Now, lets get into that ! Brisket quesadillas , Rio Bravo, and my husband had a chicken burrito smothered in this flavorful gravy . The brisket and ribs are better than Ive tasted in BBQ restaurants. It was all 10 out of 10. Ms. Sharon said, If you leave hungry, its your own fault. And we left with our stomachs full and to go plates. I will be back very soon

I think it s ridiculous how I come in to a restaurant to enjoy a night out with my husband and have to listen to the hate spew out of the owners mouth along with his employee. Even though she was off the clock, the conversation was very rude. The discussion was very degrading to Democrats. Your political beliefs are your political beliefs and it s totally acceptable. However, when you re running a business, that topic is inappropriate. Each time that we come to Maria Mia s, we spend at least $200. We ll never come back again and I ll make sure everyone I know knows exactly how you feel. I promise you that! Once again, your political beliefs are your political beliefs, but when you re having your discussions, be aware of your surroundings. I m sure that most of your staff would hate to hear the things that were coming out of your mouth or your employee s mouth (your glorified hostess).

The red sauce is like a guajillo pepper mole. Outstanding. It is not like eating a mouth full of chili powder with each bite like most other texmex restaurants in town. The sauces that flow from the burrito are rich with flavors. On top of everything else the servings are huge. The wife and I had two meals with the leftovers. We will be back weekly for more. Maria Mia just became our go to place for fantastic Mexican food!! The margaritas were the best I have had in BCS and we have been searching for some time. What I love about this place is that it has an old world relaxing environment. No TVs blaring at you and spaced every five feet. Just a calm dining experience. I love it and we will be back soon!!

We came for drinks and dessert. I ordered a top shelf margarita with Patron but Im fairly confident that they forgot to add any tequila at all. Then I ordered a frozen mango margarita and it was so sour that it actually burned my tongue and I couldnt drink it at all. The fried ice cream was good.

Were just passing through, needed something to eat, sit down type place-fits the bill. Food was basic not horrible. First time impressions here. Chips were like store bought chips, salsa was good, green salsa was ok. Fajitas didnt come out sizzling & steaming--really just a visual effect, not needed. But, the onions were undercooked, food was not real hot, not much melted cheese. They catered to our requests, but food was just bland. Tamale plate had huge tamales (mostly masa)-Wheres the beef..err pork? Rice is bland (needed salt), refried beans needed something. Would we visit again?--probably not, there are better choices around. Were not big drinkers (not social drinkers have you) so maybe this place is good for margaritas and the food tastes good when youre tipsy? Atmosphere- the place easily echos, open type room so when there are drunk people --it gets loud!

The drinks are great. They are pricey. Im not going to say they are worth the charge but they are definitely not afraid to give you liquor in your drink instead of syrup. The food was good. Ive had the ribs, they were very good, the beef fajitas and they were good. We also had a dish with grilled chicken covered with rice and a mushroom sauce topped with 2 large jumbo shrimp... it was good... I pass on it because I dont do mushrooms. Its worth your time.

The food was just okay, but the larger problem is the poor service. When I requested to substitute a cheese enchilada instead of a pork tamale on La Marie, I was told it would be no problem and there was no mention of any additional fee to swap an item. When I got my food, I did receive a plate with an extra enchilada and no pork tamale, but when we got the bill, we found out that our waiter charged us $5 extra for an additional enchilada. We questioned this and the waiter, Carson, said thats just how he had to enter it and couldnt seem to care less. We will not be returning.

Delicious Tex-mex food, good margaritas, and a nice atmosphere. Tall ceilings and hard surfaces so noise level can get a bit loud in rush times, but also has a patio area. Try the fajita quesadillas.
