Stopped here for some breakfast tacos for the first time, and what the hell? The tacos were so small they were literally two bites, and cost damn near $4 a piece. I m still hungry! The bowl we got was almost all egg, hardly any meat at all, and no flavor! $27 for next to nothing. The bag was so light I thought they forgot something! And don t get me started on the hot sauce for the tacos. Just plain bad. Never again will I waste my money here.

I ordered a half chicken through a delivery app but the driver informed me that they were out, so they graciously agreed to substitute for their turkey breast upon my request. I picked up $80 worth of brisket and sausage for a birthday party at my house last night from the Cypress Creek location. The sausage was fine, but the brisket was cut into 1x1 links that were half solid fat and the rest dry as all get out. Rudys was suggested by I love(d) Smokey Mos. Ruined food for my bday party. Never again.

All of the meat here is delicious! You owe it to yourself to give it a try. You will be glad you did. Pork Belly Burnt ends are worth fighting over for sure! Dietary restrictions: Keto and carnivore eaters will love it! The baby back ribs pork belly burnt ends have sugar but the rest have minimal amounts. The coleslaw is also kept friendly.

Went by on my way home today and picked up a rack of BB ribs and a Sausage link to go. The ribs were moist, meaty and tasted so good. The sausage link was also excellent. When their meats are on they can t be beat. Lay off the sauce. Let the meat speak for itself. Update. 2024 No longer carries baby back ribs.

I arrived around 9am hoping to get food which was in compliance with my partners new dietary restrictions (a turkey plate and green beans). Instead of being politely informed that plates were not available in the mornings or having this policy clearly marked on the menu, the female guest service representative (who was not wearing a name tag) seemed unable to understand what I wanted before rudely stating, we cant do that right now. I asked about other options and was informed that they could only do sandwiches, tacos, and wraps. I understand that food service can be tough. However the employee demonstrated no sense of courtesy or professionalism in handling customer relations. Furthermore I dont understand why wraps and sandwiches can be made in the morning, but not a half pound of turkey on a plate. I felt that the staff did not want to serve me.

What happened Smokey Mos? I thought maybe it was just me but I ran into a few other people who said their holiday turkey was awful. This was for Thanksgiving and luckily, we bought ham from HEB as well as a Smokey Mos turkey. We followed the instructions provided, kept the turkey in the bag, and placed it in the oven. It wasnt just dry but tasted old and funky. It just so happened a couple of my neighbors and friends had similar experiences. They told me they were NEVER going to Smokey Mos again and I gotta tell ya, its hard to disagree. I sure hope this is a one off. I may use yall again next year but Im asking for a guarantee of satisfaction first. If it werent for the HEB ham, Thanksgiving wouldve been a big failure.

Love Smokey Mos! For us, it is super convenient to our home and I am able to order for pick up on my way home from work. The ataff is always so friendly and the food is delicious! We have tried everything on the menu including the holiday meals. They have catered for our school functions, family parties, and last minute get-togethers. Their service is 2nd to none. They are always our first choice when we get hungry. You can get breakfast tacos, brisket, sausage, ribs, chicken, sides, and potatoes. They sell family packs and also have daily specials that help save on money, and help when my kids cant decide on what they want to eat. The only thing I wish is that they would bring back the French fries and okra.

So we tried the barbecue at a different place outside our regular rotation that my other half wanted to try. We were disappointed. The brisket was bland at best. For me, I have had better from a Costco refrigerator meal. Same for the sausage. The pork ribs lacked favor. The ribs honestly reminded be of tamale meat, but less flavor. I tried to improve on the flavor with the barbecue sauce, but unfortunately it provided no help. The green beans were no better. The best thing out of the bunch for me was the boiled red potatoes. You could tell the potatoes were boiled in salt water and tender. The staff were kind, patient, helped navigate the menu options quite well, and though empty, was clean. When we entered, there was a bit of a rush, which the team handled quite well for a 8:15 PM visit. So.. if most barbecue is too spicy for you (like Salt Lick, Terry Black s, or Southside) then this may be an option for you.

Visiting from Orlando and wanted BBQ seen the reviews thought this would be a great stop. Sadly I was wrong This place gave us lukewarm food to begin with. We have been a long-time patron of Smokey Mos and have always recommended them and used them for catering events. Recently something has changed. The menu, staff, pricing, & quality have all changed. The staff is no longer the friendly, welcoming bunch. The quality of food has gone down & the prices have gone up. I realize that anyone can have an off day, so my review is not based off of one visit. My last three visits have been sub-par. In Aug we ordered a family pack. The BBQ was dry and the flavor seemed as they had used a heavy hand with liquid smoke. Not the normal quality Smokey Mos is known for. Just before Thanksgiving, I called to see if they could take a large order (3 family packs) They assured me they could I spent an hour putting together an order for over $300 of BBQ. Just as they were about to take payment, I was told that the manager decided they should not accept this order as it was a busy time and they did not want to sell their BBQ on family packs when they could sell on individual orders. We went back after Thanksgiving. This time, for just one family pack. The ribs were more fat than meat. The brisket was so fatty, the butcher paper separated and stuck to the meat. What they served as sliced brisket, they would have normally turned to chopped beef. There were 3 people working behind the counter, No one greeted any of the customers or said thank you customers paying. Others waiting made comments about it as well and pointed out that they heard it recently changed ownership. The girl working behind the counter did not know who owned or managed the restaurant. The biggest disappointment is the change in the staff. Everyone has always been so friendly and welcoming there. You were always made to feel welcome and appreciated. Unfortunately that is no longer the situation. Austin has too many really great BBQ places with good food & service. I hate to say it, but take Smokey Mos off of your list of places to get BBQ. Theres at least 5 others within a stones throw that are better all around.

This store used to be really solid. After it changed hands they are out of meat all the time, meat quality is down and portions are WAY smaller with a price hike. It is now the fast food of BBQ with high quality prices. Too many other good options to go here. Sad to see this place go downhill.

Not understanding why NONE OF THE WORKERS HERE are wearing any mask!!! Several people are still not vaccinated, and even though I am fully, my kids arent able to be. Why on earth would I trust any place not requiring mask for their workers, especially when it comes to preparing our food; thats just basic protocol until this mess is completely under control. Got a two meat plate , only got 4 quarter slices of beef and a small amount of sausage, a very small amount of potatoes salad. Looked like a plate for a small child. I will never go back to a smokey Moes, ever. And my wife got chicken plate , which looked the same. We paid a premium price. I dont know what these people are thinking but they lost us forever.

The brisket was good, but I was very disappointed (I asked two employees nicely) but they wouldnt let me make a minor substitution today (July 7) on a sandwich combo of getting a cookie instead of chips. Their own prices show the cookie as $1.25 and the chips as $1.29, so supposedly they would have come out ahead, and they would have had a completely happy customer rate them as 5 stars.
