Highly recommend. Overall, it was a very good experience. The buffet offers a wide variety of options. The owner is from Pakistan, and all the food is halal, which is hard to find in south texas. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is professional.

I am sorry to be writing this review, but the food was excruciatingly horrible, I generally dont write a bad review , if I dont like the food Ill just not order from that place ever again, but for this place the food was soo bad that I had to write this review, hopefully, your food quality will improve, please take this as constructive criticism. I am a foodie person and have eaten a lot of food from a lot of places all over India, Canada, and the Middle East, plus my mum is a chef for a small restaurant as well. So this review is coming from a lot of experience in taste. The Reshmi kebab was very dry and it tasted a lot of coconut. please see some YouTube videos of some good chefs to get an idea of what reshmi kebabs should be. Extra spicy doesnt mean you add more red chili powder to the food, extra spice can come from adding chopped green chilies as well. All your food tasted of ketchup. The kebabs were not properly cooked either. The meat kebabs were so tough and the chicken kebabs were too dry, The naan was dry and hard. I was hoping at least the naan to be good, Honestly, the best thing out of the food was your plain rice. I have had many different variants of chicken chili, I enjoy it when people try to make it differently than the traditional chicken chilly. Traditional chicken chili is brown gravy due to soya sauce and green chilies, but I have had the red gravy variants as well and have enjoyed those too, this was red gravy but wasnt expecting it to be made with ketchup, chicken chili is never sweet. My apologies once again if this review seems harsh but I am extremely disappointed, I threw half my food out, I hate throwing food but I didnt have an option, my 60$ wasted completely. I am surprised to see this place with 1K+ reviews and a 4.5-star rating. Either everyone has lost their taste buds or I just got food from your worst chef.

It was our first time trying this cuisine and we told our server. He was super friendly and walked us to the buffet and explained every dish to us. Their food was absolutely delicious. The naan bread was to die for. I can wait to go back. If it s your first time eating here, I recommend you start by trying the buffet which is very economical. This will give you a taste of a variety of traditional dishes.

Usually most restaurants I visit only have a small or optional section thats Vegetarian. But this restaurant seems to have more than other Indian restaurants Ive eaten at. The Lassi smoothie drink is usually what I order when buying food thats spicy. They also have a decent buffet table. This and Aloo Gobi and Vegetarian Biryani. Staff and employees are friendly and never really have to wait long for a table. Not new to this restaurant and have eaten here multiple times when visiting Mcallen. Extremely disappointed. Found a good rated desi food on google and drove from another city to have desi food on the weekend. The staff was extremely Unwelcoming!! I do not know if he was the manager, owner or the employee when asked for the bread naan rudely corrected us that he is not the server. He was handling everything else from mops to gathering plates from here and there to the kitchen but could not convey the message to the kitchen!! The food was 5/10! This restaurant claims to be Indian-Pakistani cuisine but sadly NO authentic Indo-Pak taste at all. The steam roast was so bland, cold and was blood red in color due to extensive food coloring!!! The only thing I liked was that the buffet was priced at a decent rate and the bread naan was fresh. Not going back ever!

This is the worst Indian food I ve ever had. If you re looking for authentic Indian flavors, this is not it. The butter chicken from here is more of a cilantro-flavored enchilada sauce. All I could taste was tomato concentrate and cilantro in a watery sauce, resembling nothing of what a true creamy, flavorful murgh makhani is supposed to be. The best thing about Indian food is the depth of flavor from the ingredients and Indian spices, which is entirely lacking in the dish served here. It doesn t help that the chicken was chewy and tough. I had high hopes based on the reviews, but the curry left a lot to be desired. The naan is good, though.

I was unfortunately disappointed with my visit to Kabob Guys. The service was okay but the food was lackluster. I ordered the Kabob Guys Special thinking I would have a little of everything. I asked for a medium spice. What I got was overcooked meats with little to no flavor. The chicken was dry and the beef was so tough I could barely chew it. I didn t bother finishing the meal. I did like the lentil soup, so there is that. Maybe I caught the kitchen staff on an off night. Other patrons seemed to be really enjoying the buffet. I regret not ordering it myself. Over all I would give my experience 2 1/2 stars. It not a place I personally would revisit.

I usually use Uber Eats. Orders are always correct. lve been out of the valley for a while now so its nice to come back home and have good tasting Indian food. So far my favorite place. Butter chicken, bhaigan bhartha, garlic naan.

Came here to say that this is the most flavorful food you ll get. The have a buffet in case you want to try multiple foods or the menu where the portions are more than enough. Loved the desserts too it was really refreshing to try something new.

Out of the few Indian restaurants in McAllen, Kabob Guys is superior. Compared to Universal Indian Market, KG s food has more flavor, spice, and options to try. Universal does have their strengths, such as their mint chutney, samosas, and gulab jamun available at their buffet ready for newcomers to try. However, I am always left feeling bloated, sleepy, and even slightly unwell at times. Not sure if fat content (or something else) in their food has something to do with it. I don t feel this way after leaving Kabob Guys. I sure hope they consider opening a location in Harlingen, Brownsville or anywhere in the Cameron County area. For now, the great food at reasonable prices are well worth the drive.

I love everything I tried. Every dish super delicious. They have variety of food on their buffet line, I tried most of it, and they were delicious. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The owner is super nice. My hubby ordered mango lassi, and it was so good. I end up order my own at the end. I will definately go back again. I love their spice. It can really light you up.

This was my first time trying Indian cuisine and Kabob guys did not disappoint. I ordered for delivery and the food was packaged in sturdy containers and the meal was still warm when it was delivered. I tried the chicken tikka masala paired with basmati rice/naan bread and it was amazing! The hummus was a little too spicy for my taste but it had a good consistency and it was served with chickpeas on top. I suggest the mango lassi if you re wanting a sweet yogurt type of drink. I can t wait to dine in and try their other dishes. Thank you, Kabob Guys! :)

I went to this restaurant to have dinner with my wife. And the truth we were satisfied. The food was so amazing. The service was spectacular, and we really loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. I went for the first time with family to try out this place my sibling had been suggesting for a while. Entering, I felt immediately soothed and welcome with the music and atmosphere, as well as by the staff who were ready to provide their most hospitable customer service. I decided to have the buffet, which is greatly priced, wont break your budget and had a variety of food, including vegan options. The flavors were exquisite, some spicy and just right. Our server was very attentive, charismatic and a wonderful source of knowledge with available menu items. I was justly satisfied after several helpings, lol. If youre looking for a calm environment, where there are not too many people, and have interest in trying different foods, I highly recommend this place! Excellent customer service and cleanliness are top tier here.

Ive ordered through uber eats from this restaurant a couple times. I dont eat meat, and my husband does, so its always a great place for both of us to get food we like. I ordered the paneer Tika kabob(which I hadnt ordered before) , thinking it would be a similar serving size to the Chicken Tika kabob that my husband gets. It was very small. It was 8 small cubes of paneer, for $12. It tasted good, their food always tastes good. But I was very disappointed with that portion size for that price.

I didnt have the option to give NO star at all. This place is worse than I thought. The menu is Indian food but there is nothing Indian. We ordered Lahori fried fish but what we got was fried fish fillet not even fried properly. Indian BBQ grill was Mexican BBQ and chicken 65 was made with buffalo sauce. And beef was not even cooked properly. If the menu is Indian then one would expect Indian cuisine. This is disappointing. We requested the chef to come out but even after requesting many times he never came out. I have never had such a bad experience. I refused to pay unless I talk with the chef so that I can understand why are they doing it.

Worst Indian food that I have eaten in my life in the US. I tra el for work and ended up staying in the area and looked yo these guys have highest rating, not sure for what. I ordered Aloo Naan, it was as thick as a comforter and so oily, plus to top it half cooked and half raw as batter. The pakoras were next level filthy- oozing oil, raw batter inside, raw ginger garlic when I took a bite. They never sent me the pickle that I ordered but sent me 3 orders of Ras Malai when I ordered 1. The pulao that I ordered had zero taste but was so colorful and was topped with all kinds of fancy dry fruits for a show off. My kid can cook better meals than this. God knows how they are running their business and how can they have repeat customers for the poor quality of food they cook and sell!
