Had a blast, This was my first time there. Whats the family? My daughter, however, was terrified when he set the grill on fire, she tried to abort mission and crawl under the table. Hahahaha The cook was so sweet. He apologized to her. He didnt mean to scare her and then afterwards he explained when he was going to set it on fire again so it didnt scare her. 1000000/10 would come back

First of all waited 40 minutes to be seated for our dinner reservation. Birthday dinner for my daughter the chefs were not delightful nor did they give a show. The amount of food served was very small didn t even fill plate. The steak was raw no taste. Food was not good, definitely do Not recommend!! Overpriced!

We had a horrible experience at Akita Hibachi on Saturday August 5th. This happened around 7:30 pm. My husband and I go out to Hibachi restaurants frequently because its my favorite. We usually go to Hibachi restaurants in Mansfield, Arlington or Irving. Mostly we go to Mansfield. We visited Akita about a year ago and the food was not seasoned as well and the portions were smaller than the other restaurants. So, Saturday August 5th we decided to give Akita another try. My husband called to ask how long the wait would be. The man who answered the phone said there was no wait time at that moment. So, we live in Cedar Hill and we were already in the car driving in the area. We arrived at Akita within 5-10 minutes and there were lots of people waiting outside and lots of people waiting inside the entrance area. The man then told us that the wait time was all of a sudden 40 minutes. So, ok no problem. We had him place us on the wait list and we went to the bar to wait and have some sushi and Yaki Soba. The bartenders name was Bob I think. So, there is a sign there that says All sales final I have never seen a sign like that in a restaurant so that was kind of a red flag to me. Anyway, the sushi was ok but the Yaki Soba smelled scorched and burned. We only took a couple of bites of the Yaki Soba and it just wasnt good so we couldnt continue eating it mostly due to the smell. We asked the bartender for the check. He brought over the check, we paid the entire check and at that time we told him that the Yaki Soba smelled scorched. He then just shook his head No. (I had no problem paying for it...the Yaki Soba was only $15 and I didnt want to argue since they have a sign up that basically says if youre not happy with your food then thats just too bad) Anyway, after paying for our food we told him again that the Yaki Soba smelled scorched so that he would know and could attend to the problem. He told us No it doesnt. We asked if he had smelled it. He then rudely said, Yes I smelled it and it doesnt smell bad, thats just your opinion. After all that my husband said lets go and told Bob the bartender that we wont ever be back there. Bob just shrugged his shoulders like saying So what, I dont care We left and took our names off the Hibachi table wait list. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. It was a terrible experience for us. Its not like we were trying to get out of paying, we just wanted him to know that there was a problem with our food. He didnt care at all and he seemed happy to let us know that he didnt care. We asked the guy at the front door about speaking to management...turns out the bartender (Bob) was also the manager. Well never go back there after bring treated so horribly.

Weve been several times in the past, honestly the food is AMAZING. Rude staff but we overlooked it at first. THEN, they were rude to my mother in law during HER BIRTHDAY DINNER because she changed her rice order from steamed to fried, BEFORE they started cooking. We let it go. THEN on another visit, they were rude to my ELDERLY MOTHER when we asked for a chair for her to sit while we waited to be seated. We had a reservation but THEY were running very behind and we were told the wait would be long, no apology BTW. There were no available seats in the waiting area, and we explained she couldnt stand for long periods of time. That didnt matter and their attitude about it was so bad, we decided on that very night that was our last visit.

I went in on 8/8/24 and the cashier was very RUDE to me and she LIED on me to the supervisor on duty. I was very nice to her however she was going through a person situation she told me about. Then she became emotional, started was crying yelled at me. I was so embarrassed and shame. I dislike I experienced this and hopes it doesn t happens again.

Food is great!!! Been coming here for many years. I was sorta caught off guard today when we came to eat and I was one of a party of 5 and the 18% gratuity was added to the check. I normally order online and pick my food up and take it home, so it has been awhile since I sat down and ate here. They have changed their policy where gratuity is added to the check for parties 4+. This is crazy to me 6+ okay I understand but 4!?! This was disappointing and will definitely keep me from dining in, in the future.

Save your money DONT GO HERE! Cynthia provided the WORST customer experience ever! I came to celebrate dinner for my birthday which was conveniently by my house. While there she yelled and was rude to the entire table. For the price the service is terrible we just ended up at Benihanas so much for trying new places. My guy has seafood allergies and told them to put the included appetizer on the side which they did. However he ended up with an entire piece of shrimp in his entre. They were very nice about it and replaced the meal but the repercussions could have had serious consequences. Plus for the price you should be getting benihana portions or better and they were extremely small N0 veggies in fried rice, no onions in soup. Save yourself the time and money and go to benihana for a real experience.

Let me be honest and start by saying that Ive never actually dined in, but I look forward to doing so very soon. The service when I walk in to place an order has always been a pleasant experience. This is also how Im aware that the atmosphere is very inviting because theyre always busy anytime Ive walked in to place my order for takeout. Today, I actually ordered online, which was also very easy to do, and you can still customize your order. Ive never had an issue with my order, its is always exactly how I order it. The portions are nice size for the price and they give you enough to get full. My go-to spot in the Cedar Hill/surrounding area for good fried rice. When I dine in for Hibachi, I plan to have the salmon. If youve been wondering about this place, Id give them a try. Its worth the time and the money. Kid-friendliness: Offers kids meals

Of all the hibachi restaurants weve tried, this is the one that we crave to return to. Simply put, they make the best fried rice out there. In fact, everything cooked on the flat top is top notch. Decided to go on a Saturday night date night and the front door says open until 11pm despite Google saying 1030. We got there at 1002, waited till 1011 while they figured out if we could do hibachi being the seated section of restaurant was closed. They refused to service and suggested we get something to go instead. We counted 6 individuals coming in after us disappointed with said option as well. Not sure why on a weekend hours aren t accurate. Terrible experience.

On 06/22- I placed an order over the phone for pick up. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass 6 OZ Hibachi for $42.99. Over the phone the staff member was helpful, however while picking up my food, I noticed that the young man at the front door was sarcastic about the tip he received. He gave a smirk, rolled his eyes and said thanks. Interestingly enough the young lady that assisted me did the same. Entitled I say. Customer Service truly can make or break a restaurant...also clean bathrooms but I digress. The sea bass was mediocre at best. To be honest, I was disappointed and wish i had defrosted what I had and cooked it myself. Everything was fresh and I appreciated that. It came with mixed vegetables, I chose steam rice over fried, soup and salad. One thing I can say is about the soup. It is not the true hibachi mushroom soup that I love. It was more of just a clear broth or onion soup that lacked flavor. Ive been here before...this is why I gave it a three. Hopefully, I will have a better experience.

Came here for family Sunday dinner. My plate comes out with what has to be the waitress hair, long red hair right in the middle of my plate. I tell the chef, he raises his hat and says its not his. I ask for the waitress, she comes over and says she will have it made in the back. Bill comes with 25.95 in gratuity , I ask for the manager. Manager comes over and I ask her to remove the gratuity since the hair was in my food. I dont consider that good service. This is poor at best. She said no, I said no problem. Im sure my bank will be on my side. Eat here at your own risk. Dont expect anything back when you find something in your food here.

I ordered 2 Hibachi shrimp orders. After returning to my vehicle I realized I only received ONE white sauce. I walked inside to to advise the staff of this issue. Redmon advised that I needed to bring the order back into the establishment to prove that only one sauce was given. As a result I walked back to my vehicle packed up all of the items and walked back into the establishment with the food items. Let alone I ordered fried rice, and during my call I requested eggs and vegetables I was assured that those items were included. After the first bite I tasted a strong stench of chicken. I later noticed that the fried rice contained finely chopped pieces of chicken. I have not consumed chicken in 9 years . I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

First time here and it was rather disappointing. I went for my birthday and it was sadly not at all what I had hoped for. The host was nice and when we went to go sit down the waitress took our drinks and then came and was waiting for us to order. Felt really rushed to order our food. We had never been there and I don t like to be rushed to order. My son doesn t eat Asian food really but went since it s my birthday. He was so frustrated that he said he would just not eat and sit there with us but the waitress said no he can t sit there and he had to order or leave. That was so rude and he only ordered just to make me happy which didn t make me happy. I am allergic to mushrooms and told the chef who then told the waitress and very rude started speaking in Chinese like how rude is that. My wife and I regularly meet here for lunch typically during the week. Today (a Friday) we tried to order lunch hibachi chicken (we had arrived at 11:50am) and were told they did not do lunch hibachi on Fridays and we would have to order the dinner chicken teriyaki. We subsequently saw on the menu that lunch hibachi WAS available on Friday. We called this to the attention of the server who acted aware and said she had said something to mgmt/owner and the online menu needed to be changed. Our bill still reflected dinner pricing. We ve always enjoyed the food here but will not be back. Not going to support their inability to present an accurate menu -and- make no apology for it.

This restaurant charged more than I agreed to on my credit card. They put a tip, and I was not pleased with the tip amount, so I corrected it. I went on a Friday it was busy, the majority of the patrons were there for Hibachi. We (2 adults 2 kids under 8) went there for sushi and fried rice. Our side of the restaurant was not as busy. This was not our first time there, nore was it the best. The food was good as it usually is but the service was horrible. The waitress was inattentive, each persons meal was brought out individually in 3-5 min intervals. We had to ask multiple times for the same thing and by the time we got it, it was no longer needed. This was probably because there was an automatic 18% gratuity added. Which was fine with me because I usually start tipping at 20%. I guess the attitude was why give service if Im getting an automatic 18%. Short story long. The food is always good, this is the first time I had poor service, I will return.

Nice place where you can get the experience of the hibachi grill. The prices are reasonable. Location is easy to access. The customer service is average, but they get the job done, but that extra effort goes a long way. The location is in Cedar Hill next to Home Depot. Access to the location is easy from 1382 or 67 Service Road. There is plenty of parking. The location is not large and can seem a little cramped. I did not count, but I believe they have 6 tables for the grilling . They have a separate dining area for food that comes from the kitchen. The server that took our order did a nice job. He even explained that it would be a few minutes before they would start cooking because they wanted to try and fill the table first. After we sat, the server took our drink orders. They cam put promptly. After the server took our food orders, the cook came out shortly there after and began his preparation of the food. Part of the excitement of eating at a hibachi restaurant is the presentation. The presentation was not on display this night. The portions of food were excellent and well worth the price. I had the salmon, and it tasted great. One of the people at our table had shrimp, and they got a health helping of it. I was a little jealous, I must say. Overall, my experience was decent, and I would definitely go back again.

My family and I went here for my birthday dinner after being turned away by another restaurant. Initially, the hostess was dismissive. However, she quickly apologized and stated, Give me a moment to see how we can accommodate your party. I was told that the wait time would be at least an hour, which I was okay with. This is literally my first time coming to this restaurant and not receiving good service- as a business owner myself who receives countless positive Google reviews- the rude lady at the host stand asked me am I a mind reader when I mentioned the $9.99 lunch special was a better deal IMMEDIATELY after I ordered the fried rice for $8- I would think you would have better customer service than that especially when you re the first impression of the restaurant. You have horrible energy and I really hope you don t interfere with the integrity of this beautiful business- I was so taken back , that I decided to leave- she is the type that will cause your business to lose money- ppl like that do not deserve jobs in customer service- or at least anywhere near FOH- definitely canceling my birthday dinner I had planned for here because of her lack of empathy

I come often with my mother & this time was just a little off putting. The server never checked on the table after taking the food order. The manager refilled my cup about 3 times because the server didn t. Once he dropped the checks off he stood over me & watched me count out my money the entire time but the guy across from me didn t receive the same attention. my mother handed him her check & this guy didn t even walk off to swipe her card until i was done counting my money. i felt as though it was a little discrimination against me because there were plenty of other things for him to do instead of standing over me making sure i pay, which i ALWAYS do. it just sucks sometimes how the customer service is here because i really enjoy the food & im a bartender myself at a restaurant so i understand but i would never hover over a guest to make sure they re paying. have a little bit more faith in your customers

I have eaten here before, and when I do it is a generally good experience. However, this last time, I did a pick-up order. I specifically told the receptionist/host I have a shellfish allergy, and to please not add any complimentary shrimp to my hibachi salmon meal. When I arrived home, starving, I opened my bag and . there was shrimp sitting right on top of my fried rice. I had to throw my whole $24+ meal away. I got home right after closing and couldn t call to get a new meal.

My first visit the place looked closed. It seems the entrance is not as obvious to me at least Tried again when in area and it was good. Service was also good. Servings were fair, prices also fair. We ll eat there again if in area. Sorry I thought it was closed first time. Maps said it was closed but I did not look real close as I was in area and assumed it would open at 11:00am but it looked closed. Seems most people park on other side of building.

Typically I enjoy a lunch special from Akita, however today I was highly disappointed that I order a lunch special online and paid for it, and then they called and said they could not honor it because it was now lunch time. I paid for y meal during lunch time (12:21) and the website told me to pick up at 3:30. So while on my way to pick up my food, I am getting a call saying they were not open. Typically, when they were not open, the website will not let me order at all. This time, I assumed they had such a busy schedule because of black friday. I feel that if my meal was bought and paid for during lunch hours and confirmed through email, then they should have Honored it. Instead they wanted me to pay the $11 difference between lunch and dinner. Black Friday is not a holiday, so the only reason I believe they were closed is to not allow people to get a lunch special anyways. But as a regular customer, this was a complete turn off and disappointment.

My family has eaten here on several different occasions, and the food is always delicious. We came last night for my birthday and the service was excellent. We had hibachi and the flavors and whole experience were lovely. We also ordered sushi rolls and they were fresh and beautiful. I highly recommend this spot for a nice meal out.

- If your entire party isn t eating hibachi then you CAN NOT sit at the grill. So we were asked to move. - We were a party of 5 and 18% gratuity was automatically added. - when we got the bill every item was $1-$2 more than what s shown on the paper menu. When we ask the waitress we were told that the menus are outdated and the online one it s the accurate one. They failed to tell advice is in advance or edit their menu. Food was okay. beef was blend, but the shrimps were good. We got grilled and garlic. The friend rice is additional $3.50 and has no meat and was also blend. Not sure if this is the best in town but will likely not return.

The employees here are great! However, the manager is rude. We had an issue with our food and it took the manager 20 minutes to come to our table because she was gossiping with another table the whole time knowing she had been notified that customers needed her. The table she was associating with wasn t regarding food, it was strictly fun conversations.

I was craving sushi. Ordered here a couple times before . Today I ordered two spider rolls. The rolls were very bland and the seaweed wrapping the sushi wasn t fresh at all. I knew they wouldn t allow me to bring back so that s $23 down the drain literally. I called to ask about the seaweed and that I didn t like the food but no offer was presented to make it right.
