Went to lunch with best friend today and haven t been here in forever. Was seated promptly and greeted just as quickly by our server Bo! What a delightful young lady with a positive Attitude, & beautiful smile. So pleasant, got our drinks and took order. Food came quickly and all was very tasty and very plentiful. We sat for long time catching up and she continued to ask if we needed anything without making us feel rushed. Nice, lunch, & Great server! Ask for Bo when you go in! She s worth it!

My friend and I met here for lunch today. We had not had a good sit down meal to visit and talk for quite some time. ( my fault, not hers) We had the Greatest waitress there, I m sure. Bo, was her name. She as the sweetest and most attentive waitress I ve ever had. My friend and I stayed 3 hrs catching up and never once did she make us feel rushed. She was the Best one I ve ever had anywhere! Ask for Bo ( female ) you won t be disappointed. She also had the most beautiful smile :)

My husband and I went to this on the border for our lunch date. It was the worst decision of my entire life. The food was horrible. The salad made me gag Due to the severe sour aftertaste. The chili Rellano was dry and undercooked, and the rice was also undercooked it needed at least five more minutes to even be edible. The only thing that this restaurant correctly was have a waitress that attempted to serve when adequate speed and friendliness.

Tried to give this place another chance and its a nope. you have managers walking around talking and servers leaving dirty tables and dirty floors everywhere it was filthy all the way around. a girl was flirting with a customer dropped the tray with the plate and there was a baby next table over she dropped it by thank god not on . It is a no and my kids food and dads food was hard and inedible and then our food came out wrong. it was just gross. I took pics of how dirty this place was. . its beyond nasty and the managers should be ashamed of themselves

Haven t been here in years. Met a buddy there for lunch, just before noon (Sat 9/21). Jalapeño poppers were greasy and cheese filling was not melted - hard (re-fried?). My chicken enchiladas were pretty bland and the rice was hard (undercooked). Black beans also seemed a little firm . My friend had carne asada - said it wasn t bad (same undercooked rice )

Well, felt like the service and food had been declining over the last year or three and haven t been there much in the last year. Tortilla soup has always been good so went back tonight. Wife ordered the grilled chicken queso. Both were absolutely fantastic. Chicken was grilled perfectly and had a great flavor. Their queso has always been good. The service was great also. Will definitely start going back more frequently.

Third order in a row that is wrong through door dash. To respond to what the restaurant said. The website requires a code from your receipt. A receipt you dont get if you order via door dash. I was invited to eat here with friends and I must say although our food took long to prepare it was worth the wait. Everything tasted delicious on my plate. The waitress was very nice. She apologized for the long wait and gave us a 20 percent coupon to use on our next visit. I ll be back soon

First, we were seated in the bar area and its extremely loud. Not just the people sitting around drinking but one of the bartenders was even louder. Next, I ordered sweet tea and got unsweetened. No big deal except it took a good 10 minutes for our waitress to come back. The chips were very old and hard to eat. The expensive table made guacamole was flavorless. The music was too loud and it was hard to even carry on a conversation at the table. Lastly, the food was ok. The plates came out looking like they just slopped it on the plate. I know Gordon Ramsey doesnt run the kitchen but proper plating makes your food look a little more appealing. Our waitress never returned to check on us until the check was due. She was nice enough but really didnt want to be there. Overall, we will be hard pressed to spend money there again when we have so many other similar restaurants to choose from in the area.

Came here with my girlfriend for our anniversary. Weve been to this location twice, and both times Larry was our service. He is one of the best waitstaff weve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Its all the small things he does that make our experiences here so fantastic. If anyone in management reads this, please consider giving Larry a promotion/raise/bonus. On The Boarder of being editable at all the take out taste and resemblance of microwave fajitas out the frozen section at grocery store, pick four was shorted an item also.Taco half of it tasted like it was somehow out of a can the other half was trashed and skimming was evident all around. I have had better food from a construction site food truck. Surprisingly the Guacamole and salsa were fine but very little was included. Several competitors at a better price along this strip of restaurants in the Mexican style I recommend any of the three others it drive another mile and cross over at garden acres and grab Taco Bell at least it s consistently bland and cheap

Way to pricey for Tex Mex. If you were getting authentic Mexican food, then maybe but for Tex Mex hell no . 80 bucks for 3 of us with alcohol drinks. I dont think I will be back. Always a great experience. This is my partner and my spot when we come out to Burleson for any reason. We like to arrive before the lunch rush so that we can take our time, savor our meal and have fun chatting with the wait staff. The queso is great - dont forget to join the Border Rewards app beforehand so you get half priced queso and earn points towards discounts on your food. The sweet tea is great, we usually order a Border Sampler to get things started, the Big Borderito is filling. We usually have to cut it in half because we cant finish it in one sitting. To round out the meal, sopapillas are definitely the way to go. Ask for honey...this is not for diabetics lol. Hardy puffy flour tortillas deep fried and drenched in cinnamon and sugar that you then dip into honey and enjoy. So yummy, and so NOT on any doctors recommendation list. The restaurant is kid friendly and they serve alcohol - the watermelon margaritas are yummy, strabrrrrry margaritas are great. Overall, if you are looking for a fun time, great food, and a relaxed atmosphere this is the place to go. Parking: Decent amount of parking that wraps around the building.

Made my 1st review 6 yrs ago ... here is my update : when dining in the service is typically pretty good to very good. Food is really good if not a bit salty. Last night for New Years Eve we placed an order for pick up through the app. Our last meal of 2023 and we wanted something we knew would ve delicious ... Said our order would be ready in 17 minutes, we live very close so we picked it up really quickly, the fact that our food was ice cold when we got it home, a short drive away, was disappointing but, we have a microwave so problem solved .. however part of our order was missing we were charged for a pick 4 combo but received only 3 items, and ordered Queso, primo style paid nearly $11 for what ended up being a tiny cup was highly disappointing. We will not be ordering to go or pick up again. Dine in only from here on out Always Good Food. Love the improvements to food service, Servers are always friendly and fast

Came for my birthday, and though it was Christmas Eve and they closed early, we came about 3 hours before closing. The food tasted awful, were given old empanadas just refried them. Paid nearly $60.00 for two faijata plates, and the veggies were burnt , meat was dry. The best parts were the beans and rice. Probably the freshest thing they served us, but I highly doubt it. The service took a while, and the chips tasted old and like they had a chemical on them. I even asked if they did anything for birthdays, and the gentleman stated he would ask but never did. Lol, we just wont be going back to that location.

Ordered on phone, man was nice, and spoke clear. Fast and quick, BUT the food is waaaay smaller than the advertised deals. I would say that it looked as if everything was shrunk 50%, but the food was still pretty outstanding. I rate it a 3 bc everything was literally good until you realize it s tiny, therefore making the price seem too high. My dad and I ordered to go, but even when I eat here, I get bigger meals it seems. Overall if you like Mexican food, hell, this place ain t bad, but just be ready for falsely advertised food sizes in your face.

Ordered the Chicken and Beef Fajita combo, and a cup of queso. The salsa that came with the chips tasted old, like almost as if it was sour. The, presumed manager, brought out my fajitas and the meat was still raw. Now dont get me wrong I like a med rare steak, but this was a bit different. Im not sure how he didnt even see it. There was hardly anybody there eating which should have been my sign to steer clear. The place also smelled like a dirty mop. This place needs a total makeover... Only giving the service 3 stars cause I sat in the bar area.

Decided to give this OTB a second chance and wish I hadnt. Went on a Monday around 6 p.m., and the restaurant was fairly empty. After waiting 15 minutes, and watching others who arrived after us get their drinks, my fiancé got up to ask the hostess to get our server. By the time the waitress decided to make her way towards our table we changed our minds and went to eat somewhere else where our money is welcomed.

Food was good as usual. Service was ok except for one minor issue. How hard is it to remember when you serve food utensils are very helpful. My food came in a timely manner except for the queso i ordered. Queso came out with the meal...shouldve come out right away. My biggest problem was no utensils. I sat there looking at my food long enough for it to cool off...some...it wasnt cold but it certainly wasnt hot and fresh anymore. I finally pushed my untouched plate away from me. The bartender finally noticed what the problem was and got me some utensils. She apologized and offered to get me a new plate of food. I declined and ate what I already had even though it was luke warm at best. She said that I could have said something but thats not my job. Its not that hard to realize that when you serve food utensils are needed. I dont blame the bartender. I blame management and poor training. I never saw the manager make rounds to check on customers once the whole time I was there...a little over an hour. Better management and training seriously needed at On The Boarder in Burleson...I couldnt help but notice that the couple next to me at the bar had drinks and chips and salsa and queso...but no utensils or napkins...really? POOR MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING!!

Went there last night with family to celebrate my birthday and it was a disaster. I had to hunt for our waitress several times once because my grandchildren were thirsty and had been out of drinks for a while. Our waitress switched out with another waitress I guess because she already had enough tables to care for. Our new waitress told us she was bored so she would be taking care of us. But did not. Our food was good except for the chips. The sweet tea was like drinking a bag of sugar to which my grand kids switched to WATER and my margarita had to be remade.Although they did give me a second margarita for it being my birthday. When we were leaving I needed a to go bag and couldnt find our waitress so I asked one of the other girls who happened to be just sitting there and she said sure and asked someone else to get me a sack. Looks to me like these people need a refresher on customer service. As well as paying attention to what is ordered and what they bring to the table. It was a bad experience for me in my birthday as well as the family I had there with me. Its about a forty minute drive for us both to this location so that made it even worse to drive that long to get such poor service. Be prepared to wait a while to order them another while to get your food. Heck my son in law got full on hot sauce and chips we waited so long. Sorry I wished I wouldve known better .

Ordered the fajitas/steak for one and it was definitely mediocre for the price. It was dry and did not come with as much as the 23 + price tag for added sour cream and guac. Also the servers on a Tuesday night were all white and attituded up. Go to the Mexican Inn across the parking lot instead.

Jordan is the best! She was super helpful with her food recommendations - the sour cream sauce was phenomenal! - very attentive to our needs like napkins and refills, and overall just happy and kind. The food was super good and fairly priced and not overly crowded. Well definitely go back and hope to have Jordan as our server!

Our most recent experience at on the border was absolutely delicious. Its been rocky in the past but the menu has been updated so we all 4 got something different so we could each try it and it was so yummy! Our waiter Larry was also phenomenal. We appreciate your service , Larry! Specifically- we ordered the Southwest chicken tacos, the new shrimp tacos, and the brisket tacos.. ALL were delicious!!! (Side note- please tell Joe we finally found Larry!)

We went during happy hour and sat at the bar. My wife and I had stacked nachos, and that was a great snack for us to share. We got them for a discounted price of $6.75 and I feel like that was worth it. The service was great and the beer mugs were cold!! Happy hour was 3-6 and they had some pretty good deals.

My wife and moved to North Texas from South East Texas 13 years ago our favorite Tex Mex was Casa Ole and Crazy Joses since we moved up here On The Border has been my favorite. After this hard week my wife asked me what I wanted I said lets get the enchiladas from On The Border the best I have had. But tonight it was the worst. Everything was stale the Enchiladas where hard to eat the Chips were stale. I think the problem is you have children running the restaurants. I dont think it good business to serve this level of food even if is delivery. Take pride in every level. My wife called the restaurant they told her to come get some coupons. Tell your employees to cook the recipes that made yall great.

Was able to join the wait list online, even receive texts while on the way, but when we got there, the hostess told us they dont even use the computers for the wait list. Staff was nice, drinks refilled often and quickly, but the main dishes were cold by the time we got them.

Bartender (Liberty was the name on the bill) looked at us 3 times before heading our direction and actually sighed before doing so; that process took 8 minutes. I asked for 2 margaritas and menus. The drinks took another several minutes and came without menus. After another 5 minutes (Bartender was busy chatting with other coworkers in the back) I went to hostess to get menus. 15 minutes later, drinks empty and annoyance full, we asked for our check to go. Came in to eat food and left hungry, amazed, and frustrated. OTB is officially off my list.

waitress brought me sweet tea 3 times that had no sugar in it then when our food showed up it was cold when i complained she said it had just come out i asked to pay for our drinks then we were leaving got the tea/water free**3/16/22 placed a to go order for the wife and with in 5-6 minutes of arriving the order came out and it was right!!!!!**2.8.23 this is the third time that my wifes call in order had something missing it was corrected before i left but how many chances should OTB need?? I myself only dine in but the wife like calling her order in when shes the only one eating**6/14/23 myself and the wife dined in today both our entrees was good , the service was fantastic this visit today was great!!!
