Was there this past weekend and there were almost no rides open on one side. We were not informed of this ahead of time and there were no signs acknowledging this. We had to go to the West side of the past instead (a shuttle ride away), pay for a new locker, and once over there, we waited in lines over an hour and a half for short and underwhelming slides. After visiting other water parks, this is by far the worst I have been to. Avoid at all costs. Spend your time and money at places where your kids will not have to wait in lines in the heat.

It was very disappointing for me to have gone this weekend with my family to this park, we were so excited to travel from Houston, but they had several attractions closed: the river, the second park, the Congo River and others. They should give discounts for this or inform on the page that certain attractions are not available due to lack of staff or lifeguards (that was what they told us) and that they were missing lifeguards and that is why they could not open other attractions.

August-12-24 Super disappointed with today s visit. West side (the original Schlitterbahn) was closed. The staff said it was due to the fact that many of their employees were college students and they had gone back to school. That s my favorite part of the park. Then we went to the east side of the park and the ride THE FALLS longest water ride in the world was drained (closed) and lastly the wave pool had the wave machine off. Eventually they turned it on after 30 min of being in there. Worst part was that we paid full price for a park that had more than half of its rides off. Horrible, horrible and more horrible. Six flags has bought it and made it into such a terrible experience for the guest. It s so sad since we ve been going to this park since the mid 90 s.

I used to come hear all the the time but now they have a rule eve of me must wear a life jack to go into a lazy river with waves. there was no mention of this anywhere not on website or anything until you go inside the park. I am very claustrophobic so I could even ride one of the only adult rides int us park and I am so upset this and the fact that the falls were closed ruined my whole vacation as it was surrounded for schliterbahn. I will never go here again sadly

This review is only based on the east side of the Schlitterbahn Water Park. I went with my wife and two kids on a Friday right before opening. It was our first time, so we were left to explore and find things on our own. I was pleasantly surprised on how much space there was to park and put our stuff down when we got inside. I was told that the east side of the park was better suited for us based on the age of my kids. But, I still had fun on the rides. They all have a tendency to start off slow and build up momentum toward the end. We didnt get the fast pass, but we still managed to go on about 5 different rides each and we were there for about 4 hours. There is a tall slide that you dont need to wait long for if you want a quick rush. Theres a pipe slide that leads into the pool that I went in with maximum effort. I ended up going so fast, I nearly thought I was going to start tumbling in the tube. All in all, we had fun. Im sure well have more fun next time now that we know what to expect and how to get around.

Worst experience at an amusement park I ve ever had. The point of going to a park is to ride the rides. I was only able to ride two rides in the 5 hours I was there. Definitely don t go on a weekend. Maybe find a small water park near your home don t make the trip.

Over all great experience. My daughter and I got yelled at by the sitting lifeguard for not being able to paddle ourself to the exit had to go around again. I asked a supervisor if we were supposed to stand up and move to the other side since the lifeguard moving the tubes got held up she said no that we definitely should have gone around again and not stand. Got overcharged at a food stand thankfully supervisors helped and got it taken care of! We will be back! 2 bad experience out of a whole weekend of fun was a win. Some of the younger life guards need to be taught that not every person is out to get them here we just want to float and have fun!

There are 3 parks. We spent a whole day at the West park which is the original. Lots of stairs!!! Even a 4 thrill ride was not scary. Super fun. I would only purchase the fast pass as a one time not unlimited next time. There are plenty of rides and they last 15-30 minutes. Too tired to do back to back days. Great for whole family. There is a hot tub area to park those that don t do stairs. Very clean. The $30 meal deal is worth it and comes with a small drink. The unlimited drink is also worth it. You can refill every 15 minutes. The preferred parking is worth it. They also took care of a medical emergency quickly. Seems to be well managed.

If you ever rent a cabana, do not buy the stupid insurance for your purchase. Or, make sure you read the fine print!! Cause they dont pay! I spent a bunch of money, got rained out and didnt even get to ride anything, and all they have me was 50 bucks. Schlitterbahn used to be fun, now its just a miserable experience of standing in line for hours! Will never be back and I would not waste your time going here unless you dont wanna ride rides and just sit in the pool. Hope this helps them loose more business, since theyre getting ready to be sold again anyways. This place is totally ruined, never be a customer again. Good luck!!!

The park is so big the staff isn t sure where everything is but they at least tried to help me find someone who knew. Parking is a nightmare which is to be expected with the amount of people that go and they try their best with lines. When going on the shuttle busses to the other side of the park more shad in the waiting areas would make the wait more tolerable by far.

Has seen this place on the Travel channel and it looked cool, so me and my 17 year old son went over today 6/8/24 to spend the day . Spent $125 to get into the park, which would have been on par with other parks. Here s where the visit fell apart * 2-3 hour wait times for each ride. (Not a typo) We were at the park for 5 hours, so my son ended up going on TWO slides while we were there * NO place to sit for those who just want to sit and watch their kid have fun. More benches for older people (or those that have physical limitations) would be ideal and easy to add. The staff experience was: Hit- Attendants by the lockers area were very helpful with an issue that we had Parking attendants were great at guiding to where you needed to go Miss Some of the lifeguards were very rude to a couple of the visitors who just had some general questions about the fast pass. In addition, one of the security guys snapped at me for not exiting correctly, I snapped back that the exits are not clearly marked and that he should t be talking to paying customers that way. The alpha male crap he was trying to pull didn t work. We marked this off our bucket list for places to go, but won t be back

We have been long time fans of this place, & have been several times. It s a staple for our family. However, this visit had a lot to be desired. Upon arrival , all the rides that were not open. were not posted for customers. So we paid for unlimited fast passes, which were $135 a piece for a family of 4. Then we get to the rides in the fast pass lane, there is only one staff member working it. They could scan our wristband but were not able to let us on the ride, cause they were short staffed. We had to wait several times & eventually let ourselves on. Some rides were cut short because of lack of staff. We order food & the young girl taking our order must have been very new & not knowledgeable on the items they had. We ordered Mac & Cheese . Paid, only for her to tell us 15 later they are out of Mac & Cheese. The girl could not remember who ordered what. Very disorganized. There was another staff member standing at a pretzel stand. There were adult beverages you could order , I tried to purchase one & she stated she was too young to serve alcohol & I would have to go somewhere else. As far as sitting down and eating, if you didn t bring a cooler in, trying to find a place to eat is a nightmare. We sat on the ground, there needs to be designate areas for coolers & another designated area for people that just want to eat & go on. Will we be back, yes, I m sure. We just pay so much to get in & ride the rides with fast passes, would be nice to see fully staffed employees or give people a discount on fast passes, if not all fast pass rides are available.

I just want to share our experience with a school trip on a preseason day for schools only. We prob had 16 of our kids wearing glasses and with less than an hour left one of kiddos lost their Rx glasses in the wave pool. We filled out an online list and found report and added photos of our glasses with little to no hope. They responded and updated for weeks letting us know they hadnt forgotten but hadnt found em yet. 3 weeks passed and they emailed asking us to confirm what they think were our glasses and IT WAS THEM!!! The customer service lady sent me another photo to confirm and they sent them to us!! I could not believe they found em, identified them and sent them to us!!! BIG PROPS to SCHLITTERBAHN AND THEIR LOST AND FOUND DEPT!!

Made a big trip to visit Schlitterbahn, even bought season passes thinking we would go often. Before we arrived, online showed only 1 ride was not operating. When we got there 9, yes 9, total rides were down. Thats half the park! We were extremely disappointed and what was open was so overcrowded due to half the park being inoperable. Contacted customer service about the issue and they want to do nothing about it. What a disappointment to make a days trip for half the park to be closed. This information should be disclosed on the website!

We are most likely going to stop getting season passes to another theme park in the area and get Schlitterbahn season passes.

We love the original part of the park that uses the cold Comal river water in the rides - refreshing on a hot August day. The Resort has movies, popcorn, and s mores at night for those staying on property. We loved our stay and will definitely come back!

Imagine going to a water park where you have to wait 2 hours to just to get in a pool. Yes, thats Schlitterbahn. Hope everyone is aware they recently added a line to get into the wave pool around Master Blaster, which there is no shade in the majority of the line. This, combined with the companys greed of not having a real max capacity and overselling tickets is just a heatstroke lawsuit waiting to happen. I used to a big fan of this waterpark, but today I found it has gone very much downhill. Charging $70 for an experience that could be considered by many, a scam. Will never be back, very disappointing. However, would like to add the staff did end up refunding me after some debate, so +1 for the customer service I suppose.

For me, the park is a no brainer. I just moved To the area after my childrens mother and I separated and so having something exciting to do with my 8, 7, and 5 year old on the weekends is important to me. The first time we went was a bit of a let down. It was crazy busy, and I just wasnt prepared. I dont even think we really rode any water slides, instead we kind of explored, did some swimming but kids werent to interested in standing in lines. Note to self, get their early. I believe park opens at 10. Be there at 930. If you can be first in line and hit sone if the slides that get crowded then the whole day is that much better. On the first trip, I found out you could pack a cooler with snacks and drinks saving a bunch of time, aggravation, and best of all, Money! Wow! Thats cool. Obviously they sell food and drinks but having your own snacks really makes the experience better. I visited for the 3rd time last weekend and we had a blast. Kids are completely unafraid of slides now. And it seems like everytime we go, we discover new slides or areas we hadnt explored before. Pro tip... even though its one park, it actually is separated by a original and then the new additional park. You cannot get to one or the other from within the gates. But there is a free shuttle that runs non stop. I suggest hitting the new park first as the rides there are more popular, newer and are always busy. Anyways, totally stoked that this place is 5 min ride from my house. Im ready to go back right now!

I fell asleep and did notvbuy ticket a day ahead. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is the best one. We opted to bypass Galveston and come there.

Rating this park as garbage simply because of the trash parking situations. They are extremely disorganized, wasted our time, and made us wait in a 5 minute shuttle line in a makeshift parking lot? LOL so glad the crazy amount of money I spend in this massive park is being put to the good use

We are kings island platinum pass holders and decided to visit while in Texas. The old part of the park is nice with its not so lazy rivers that use river water from nearby. They have a lot of kid friendly areas and it s nice to be able to bring in coolers. The only negative was many line jumpers that the park did nothing about in either section old or new.

Weekdays are worth it, maybe a 20min wait in lines for rides. Can get a drink within 10-15min at food stands. Never got ran into. ***Weekend is NOT WORTH IT !!!!*** Way to crowded, takes 30-40min to even get a drink from food stands which kept running out of ice. Ride lines were 1hr plus w/ ppl cutting constantly. I was ran into maybe 4-5 times on Saturday. -bought food passes for Saturday, not worth it, lines were so long it was 45min before getting your food. -New cooler rule, pffff. People had huge Yetis. I regret not taking mine. - Get there early or u wont get a table. I saw people moving others stuff off the table and just take it over because there was no where else to sit. --> Food was good, rides were a blast, my kids loved it on the weekday <-- I have 3 kids between 11-14, Friday they didnt want to leave, Saturday they were ready to leave by 1p just because there were to many people, you cant even do anything.

I grew up coming to Schlitterbahn every summer now Im 45 and bring my kids every summer and this place has drastically changed for the worst. Fact that theres no smoking sections anymore but theres plenty of alcohol flowing and life guards are in lala land. Im not a happy camper this year probably wont be back. Sad since Ive been coming here for forty-five years

Great place to visit staff very helpful. However very pricey for what you get. Make sure you take a credit card they dont take cash which makes it inconvenient you have to buy a prepaid credit card at the park. Other than that it was ok.

As a 30 year guest, this year, 2022, has been the worst experience for my family and I. That welcoming have fun experience is gone. It is like the corporate shadow has just consumed the life from this place. When we visited in 2019, we skipped 2020 and 2021, things were just great. I would have awarded 5 stars that year. But this year, wow, what a difference the change in ownership has done to this place. While parking is still free, now there are these premium parking spots. Several of the areas are closed; reason given, lack of staff. All of the rides that had an open entry and exit have had this experience upgraded. A line is now required, which funnels everyone together. Gone is the Schlitterbahn of the past. For those like me that have visited numerous times over the past years, reset your expectations. Prepare for this Waterpark to operate like every other Waterpark. Welcome to the new world of fun, where fun has been driven out.

Lots of fun. The concessions are very expensive, $5 a small coke. You can bring a cooler, food and drinks, though no alcohol. They do search your coolers They sell food and alcoholic beverages, again theyre expensive, $10 a tallboy, The staff do not seem nearly as happy as the guests, though they do assist/save many many capsized tubers. I didnt see anyone drown. Tickets were cheaper at the door than online???

The service, facilities, and safety were all great. The staff were very friendly. The lines and wait times for their rides were terrible. Unless you are going to fork over the extra money for one of their Blast Passes you are wasting your time. It was extremely discouraging when they would let 12 Blast Pass people thru the line and only a couple of the regular people. For as much as the general admission is per person, you would think you would get to ride more than 2 of their main attractions in a 1 day trip.

Love Schlitterbahn! We love seeing Rayden there every year. 3 years now and that red headed guy is always so friendly! Also love that the park is almost all open! Good strong drinks and cool water to float on. Its what Texas summers are made of. The falls are back open now! Woo hoo!

If you have a death wish (and a strong desire for a closed casket funeral), then by all means visit a Schlitterbahn park. (Just look up the Verrückt slide, one of the brainchild s of this somehow-still-operating company.)

Its amazing!! Lots of rides, food and drinks to buy, and just amazing! They have shops you can buy souvenirs from and they have watershoes you can buy. I hear alot about the lines. We got there around 1 in the afternoon and it didnt take but 10 minutes to get in. Maybe 15 because we decided to buy a ticket online really quick to save some money. If you want to skip the probably 2 or 3 hour line, go all around the park. We went to the back right vut the lockers at the old waterpark. And we got in right away with probably 5 minutes in line.

Been 25 years since I have been . I remember having great times back when . We went as a group 6 adults three teenagers talked about it for weeks, Excited! About the fun we would have . WHAT! a disappointment !! kids were disappointed adults were disappointed! entry was quick and painless . We stood for over an hour to get something to drink we had bought the deluxe package for food and drink you should not do that better eat before you get there save your money on buying any packages for the food and drinks Now!! The line for the rides was terrible we arrived a litter on the later side 11AM on a Friday school still in session I was able to ride one ride took me almost 2 hours . finally my turn !! the ride was great master blaster but not worth two hours of waiting ! take your money and go some other place I was very disappointed after driving 300 miles, motel, gas ,food ,etc. our mode got worse for the same amount of money could enjoyed something else . best to take drinks in a cooler & a picnic basket and ride the Guadalupe river. and I give it one star because staff was friendly and in all reality the staff I d give them a five star !!!!!
