Heres my story and how Jay came into my life. I came to College Station to celebrate my sons birthday. Not even 24 hours later I found myself sitting in a jail almost 300 miles from home. My charge was assault of a family member. The family member was my fiance. We had gotten into an argument in the car while driving to the bowling alley to Bowl with my son and his family for his birthday. My fiance was shouting at me in the car over a GPS. I had asked him to stop when he didnt I pushed his face away from me and ended up cutting his chin with my ring. Another motorist saw this commotion and called 911 because they thought I was in distress. I was pulled over not even 2 minutes later and was questioned as to what had happened. I told the policeman the plane truth and I was arrested for that. I have never been in trouble in my life never been to jail never nothing more than a speeding ticket but yet here I was 56 years old going to jail for my first time. I could not believe what was happening. It was the worst experience of my life. I spent two days in jail and upon returning back home and returning to my job they somehow found out about the arrest and I was terminated from my employment because of a violation of policy for not reporting my arrest. I had forgotten about that policy that I signed 18 years prior because thats how long I was employed at this place for the state. I knew that I needed a lawyer and I knew that I would have to get this expunged from my record. Thats where Jay came in. He was very nice very understanding very sweet and kind. He never made me feel like he was just some lawyer he made me feel like a friend. I appreciated that probably more than he knows. He also set me up on a payment plan that I could pay him out. That helped so much. Teresa his assistant is just a sweet and kind. I loved working with these two. They answered all my questions and gave me the help I needed. Since then and in a very quick manner I should say my case was dismissed it was not even seen by the court and I am in the process now of getting it expunged off my record. Jay is more than a great attorney - he is your friend and confidant that truly wants to help. In the fall of 2021 my son met the wrong woman and found himself locked up with drug possession charges...many of which were her prescription meds. There were so many charges and my son being locked away was a world that was unfamiliar to the both of us. I was anxious, worried, and overwhelmed. Not knowing who to turn to I called Jay because he was a former prosecutor. He immediately put me at ease. He quickly recognized the situation for what it was...hanging out with a bad influence. He didnt make me feel ashamed. He even showed empathy for my son not having a positive father influence in his life. He was so easy to talk to and immediately came up with a plan of action. He let me pay out the bill in a manner I could afford. And my son felt comfortable talking to him. All of these things alone are enough to give him a call if you ever need a criminal attorney. He got my son off on probation and I was elated. Until he got in trouble again and then I was devastated (yep, still hanging out with the wrong one). This time around, I was more confused and frustrated than before. More than 1 county was involved and I had no idea how or where to start. Jay told me not to worry. He was going to contact everyone and would not travel out of town unless necessary since that could quickly run up a bill. He came through again and I was able to pay my bill over a number of months I could afford. And his assistant Teresa is sweet, quick, and responsive. They are so easy to work with. If you are in need of a criminal defense lawyer, you are under a lot of stress and anxiety. Jay is the one to call who will make you feel better immediately and who will get results. He treats good people like good people... even if the they did something they shouldnt have.

Jay is hands down the best criminal defense lawyer I have ever seen. I was falsely accused of a deadly conduct charge. Jay went above and beyond his duty to prove my innocences, not only did he prove my innocence he also proved the prosecuting side was lying. He never talked down or at me like most lawyers do. He treated me like a normal person and not a criminal and he was always 100 percent honest about my options. I listened to him and took his advise. My son was arrested at A&M on 3 different charges and had never been in any trouble before. I got a call at 2am to bail him out of jail, and was told to find a lawyer ASAP. I called Jay on a Sunday, thinking I would just get an answering service and he would call me back during normal business hours. He called me back that Sunday while he was having lunch with his wife to help me and assure me that it would be ok. The prosecutor kept pushing back our case so it took 2.5 years to get a court date. Jay stuck with us the entire time. He answered every email and every phone call and kept working on my sons case the entire time. When he tells you its better to wait, listen to him. He knows what hes doing. We were able to avoid a trial and have my sons records expunged and he now has nothing stopping him from living a normal life without a record to remind of mistakes he made while he was a kid. I would recommend Jay for any case.

If you are reading this, you are probably in a very scary situation for yourself or someone you love facing serious charges. Pause, take a breath, pray, and read on. I definitely recommend Jay Granberry! Our son and his girlfriend were arrested for having a small amount of an illegal substance in his off-campus home. Our son got sick and his girlfriend was naturally scared for him, so she called 911 for an ambulance. Instead of an ambulance, the CS PD came. They rushed in uninvited and searched our son s room without permission. Eventually, they saw that she was right in calling the ambulance, and radioed to ask for one. Rather than praising her for calling for help, and maybe charging them with something like possession, they painted them both as drug dealers and hit them with class one felony charges for manufacturing and delivery (up to life in prison)! The cops shared the arrest with the College Station newspaper, and these two students were painted in the media as some sort of Bonnie and Clyde . As a side note, I am a former police officer. The officers that responded to the scene went way overboard to destroy both of their lives we needed high-powered help. Because our son and his girlfriend were both charged, they needed separate lawyers. Our son s girlfriend is paying her own way through school, so she couldn t afford her own attorney. Without hesitation, we decided to help her; and that s when we found Jay Granberry. He didn t have a lot of online reviews at the time, so we took the time to meet with him. Jay spent all of the time we needed to get to know him, his approach, and his thoughts on the kids cases. Because he was going to be our son s girlfriend s attorney (we were only footing the bill), he took the time one-on-one with her to ensure she was comfortable and confident. (Jay did allow us to pay his retainer over time.) Throughout the case, we spoke with our son s attorney and with Jay. The two attorneys have somewhat different communication styles. The thing I appreciated about Jay is that he told us the truth about the good and bad of what the outcomes could be. He was always there to talk whenever we needed. Almost a year to the day later, she received a letter from the Brazos County prosecutor that her arrest was rejected, and that all charges were dropped! I can t guarantee that everyone will have these results. But I wholeheartedly recommend Jay! Here s a summary of what to expect: * If you wonder whether hiring Jay is worth the cost, he absolutely is! * Take the time to tell him what you want the outcome to be. In our case, it was making sure our son s and his girlfriend s futures were not forever destroyed. * If he thinks you will benefit from stretching the process out, do it. * Listen to and do what he says. He is a former prosecutor and knows what he s talking about. But don t be afraid to tell him what s on your mind, and what you want. * If you ever have periods of fear and doubt, call him. He let us call and talk it through anytime we wanted. He always made time for us.

Jay Grandberry is the best lawyer my family could have ever asked for. When my husband Zachary and I were coming back from our honeymoon last month we had a connecting flight to Miami and of course had to go through customs. As we did my husband was stopped and falsely accused of having a felony warrant in the state of Texas then taken to Miami Dade TGK Correctional facility. Panicking alone in Miami International Airport at 11:00pm trying to figure out what had just happened I email Mr. Grandberry explaining the situation. The next morning he called me back and gathered all the information I had and was on his way to Burleson County, the county that put out the warrant for my Husband. He discovered that not only was my husband NEVER arrested in the state of Texas (or any other state) but the case was dismissed 6 weeks prior. He instantly had Burlson county send over forms to Miami stateting that my Husband was to be released. After being locked up for over 24hrs. I can t thank Mr. Grandberry enough for his help in this situation and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

I thought Jay Granberry was a good lawyer. And then I found the need to hire another lawyer and discovered that all Jay cares about is his money. He will not work for you. Hell, after you pay his fee you barely hear from him. You will call and leave messages, but wont get a returned phone call for weeks if not months. My case should have been dropped but his incompetency caused me to be stuck with the charges. I will be pursuing a new outcome with a new lawyer. Do not hire jay Granberry if you want real results. Hes a typical lawyer. In it for himself only.

If you are reading this we know how you must feel. We were devastated when our daughter was arrested fifteen years poured into a life to be irreversibly damaged by a bad decision. Heartbroken were we. We did our research just as you are now, and my wife just knew in her heart that Jay was the attorney to represent us and wow, was she ever right! Do not believe the fake 5 star reviews on Jay, they are spam advertisement and are replicated on his avvo account (which contains many other fake reviews). The reviews are blatant self-promotional paid ads. Take this from someone who has hired Jay Granberry as a lawyer and been burned by his lack of empathy for his clients.
