Starbase is so cool. If you like space or engineering or seeing how humans can make wondrous things, this place should be in your itinerary someday. The scale is awe inspiring and you get to see close-up what some of the most talented people on the planet can create. I was amazed by this place seeing it for the first time, even though I ve seen it 1000 times on YouTube. The real experience is far better than just seeing it online.

Nestled along the expansive shores of Boca Chica Beach, Starbase emerges as a gem of space innovation. While it may appear to be merely a factory devoid of typical tourist amenities, for space enthusiasts like myself, it is nothing short of a pilgrimage site: a celestial Mecca. Here, SpaceX s vision takes tangible form. Starship, the fully reusable launch system, is being meticulously crafted within these unassuming walls. Elon Musk s audacious ideas, once confined to blueprints, now echo through the steel and concrete of this coastal haven. As I stepped onto the sun-baked tarmac, the salty breeze carried whispers of ambition. The towering Ship prototypes stood like sentinels, their stainless-steel skins reflecting the relentless Texas sun. Each weld, each rivet, spoke of humanity s yearning to transcend gravityto reach for the stars. I traced my fingers along the rough surface, feeling the weight of centuries of scientific inquiry and human dreams. And history it is. Starbase is where the improbable becomes probable. It s where the mundane nuts, bolts, and girders, transforms into the extraordinary. The launch pad, a stark expanse of concrete, awaits its moment of glory. Soon, Starship will rise from this very spot, defying gravity, leaving Earth s embrace behind. The countdown will echo across the marshlands, and humanity will hold its breath. Will Musk s vision prevail? Will Starship ferry us to Mars, to distant moons, to the cosmic unknown? The skeptics raise their eyebrows, citing past failures and budget overruns. Yet, here we stand, pilgrims at the altar of possibility, fueled by hope and curiosity. And so, my fellow travelers, if you find yourself on these sun-drenched shores, remember: Starbase is more than a factory, it s a testament to human tenacity. A last advice: if you are not an US citizen, bring your passports, for the Border Security will scrutinize your return.

The process of checking in if you are working in this location is completely asinine and unproductive. Each individual has to sign in daily which consists of taking a photo and filling out the same information and presenting id...daily, everyday as if i wasnt just here all month. Then they have to wait around for someone with a yellow badge to come escort them in. This wouldnt be an issue if there werent as much as 60 people trying to sign in on 2 ipads. The work around is the yellow badge process but it takes backround checks and orientation that only accommodates 15 people at a time and is held twice a week one in the am and one at night. Guess how fast that fills. In short there may be 60 guys waiting 10 to 20 min each day at the gate. Up to 20 man hours lost each morning and oh well

Way out on the drive through the flats to Boca Chica beach, you ll eventually see the two iconic buildings rising from the wetlands, and before you know it, you ll drive right past Starbase. Continue further and you ll come across the iconic SpaceX sign paired with the phrase Gateway to Mars at the testing/launch facility. Also easily viewed from the main road are the three prototype Starhoppers. It s surprisingly easy to get up-close to the operations without even going in. Very worth the drive.

Starbase does not offer tours to the general public. They are saying your best bet is to come work for us and then you can be here all the time. There is no gift shop at Starbase. Gifts can be purchased online. This includes food trucks you may see from the road. All food outlets are reserved for employees working onsite. They are saying, if you really want to eat here, they are hiring. Visit careers site and help humanity become multiplanetary. Public restrooms are not available at Starbase. You might want to start driving home now. No droids or drones allowed: Like all respectable spaceports, starbase does not serve droids. Drones are also strictly prohibited by FAA temporary flight restriction (TFR) Do not stray from public roads: Trespassers run the risk of meeting the mysterious chupacabra, which is known to roam these parts and eat its victims. Also, trespassing is a violation of texas penal code 30.05

It baffled me to see all these positive reviews of people who literally drove past a wildlife preserve that is being harmed exponentially due to SpaceX. Imagine being the kind of person who thinks this is progress at the expense of indigenous peoples and wildlife. Texas is HUGE, why did Elon have to have his launch pad in the literal middle of a wildlife preserve? Also did you know that Elon and SpaceX get to launch rockets and all kinds of loud stuff right on the coast? Do you think the wildlife preserve workers and inhabitants appreciate the extreme launch site that rivals NASA? It is absolutely crazy to me to see a positive review, and the worst thing people have to say about it is the pot holes they encountered on the drive in. Disgusting, Space X should NOT occupy land that crucial to the Texas coast and migration in the valley. Disgusting disgusting disgusting

You park in the sand on the side of the hwy. you can still get very very close to the orbital pad, booster and starships. Me and my girlfriend had a great time and I would suggest the trip to anyone that follows the space industry.

Road to get there has so many potholes. I recommend the last pit stop for restroom at Loves Gas station or surrounding stores. Youll have about 30 more minutes of driving until you get to Starbase with no other restroom on the way. Starbase has a sign in front for a great photo op. And there are plenty of rockets to see along the way. We drove until the pavement stopped and you could see the beach. Some people parked along the way and walked to the beach.
