Went for basketball shoes today. Staff is helpful while also being discreet and allowing you space to try on shoes. Payment is quick. Store does not feel understaffed and the shoes prices were decent.

This store and its employees have absolutely no ideas on how a warranty works. We came trying to exchange a Bat that had a one year extended warranty and they refused to even look at the receipt and said that we d have to go through they actually manufacture of the bat. This surprised me because I ve been to the Dick s in McAllen and I ve had no problems in getting any items exchange with warranty on them. If you guys are trying to exchange any items I highly recommend going to McAllen. No problems there and the customer service is way better than here in Brownsville.

I went Friday to purchase some football cleats and the girl that helped me was very helpful and let me know I could return them if they didn t fit my son, just for me to keep my receipt and they weren t used and if I needed a wide width they could help me order them online and the cashier that helped me was also friendly and informative. Saturday I had to return them, the cashier was friendly and he was ready to help me order the cleats online. I did some more purchases and the girl at the register was very nice and helpful. I go to different stores and it s been rare to get a staff wanting to help you and have great customer service. My 45 minute drive was definitely worth it.

Such a terrible experience! We tried to exchange a pair of sandals bought yesterday on sale and today, one day later, when we get to the store, we are told we have to pay the difference in price because they arent on sale anymore. It doesnt matter if they are in sale anymore or not, retail rules (Ive been in retail management for 15+ years) say that when a customer needs to exchange something bought on sale and no longer is, you price match it. Idk what kind of operation they are trying to run here but I can assure you I will never shop here again. If I could give negative stars, I would. And the lady on the cash register who claimed to be the manager was a complete bi*** and didnt care or attempt to do anything. Thats not a manager. A manager cares about the customers because without them, you wouldnt have a job.

You know they have a very good selection but you pay full retail price! The employees are friendly enough but they are not super knowledgeable and the guy and the golf Department really didnt know his stuff, I talked about playing golf and he looked at me like I was talking about playing Cricket or or a curling match I dont think he knew how to play golf I think he just work there. If you need something its not a bad store but I think if you need something answered about your sport youre better off elsewhere

The customer service is horrendous. Maybe because I m from Dallas, I expect a little more since the Dallas area has really great customer service in general. No one greets you when you come in, and no one asks you if you need help. When I finally asked the cashier Jenavie for assistance on where to locate a product she said to look at the Nike section, I told her that I did and didn t see it, so then she said that they didn t have any. I showed her that the website said that there were 8 available, she said that the website was then wrong. I told her, well what about the other colors, it says those are in the store too, she said that they didn t have any. Keep in mind she never searched for it on the computer, she just didn t want to help me find it. I then asked her if she could direct me to someone that knows the lay out of the store that can help me find it, and she said that there just isn t any in the store. I didn t give up and I actually found several of those items in the running section. So she was wrong. Moral of the story, when you are searching for something and the employees won t help Don t Give Up!

Absolutely love this location. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. One in particular, Roman, does an excellent job of making you feel welcome and helpful with all our fishing questions. He makes suggestions but isnt pushy. The greeters at the front are happy to help and dont make you feel like you are asking to much. The prices are reasonable. Seriously the customer service makes me want to come back. Unlike the douche bags at Academy Sports (Brownsville... namely Mario) they actually want and appreciate our business. They need more Romans on their staff!

I had placed an order online and it was cancelled because it was out of stock they called and informed me that I can have the display that it was in perfect condition, I agreed, but asked them to dismantle it since I have a small car, after that request , I was called back and told that the item was missing a screw and therefore unavailable for sale,yet it is still available for order and pick up.

One star is too much wish I could give it zero stars because I had placed an order online with my reward and was cancelled the following morning because it was out of stock and that my reward would have been returned. I decided to just go in person and use my reward turns out they were not out of stock I found plenty of the exact same rod reel combo so I picked one up only to be told that your reward was already used to my surprise I was not refunded my payment nor reward and would have to wait 30-50 days for it to be processed and given back.

It is an excellent store for sporting, camping, hunting, fishing, and nautical items. The prices are a little higher compared to academy but the variety and quality are better. The golf equipment department stands out. An excellent assortment. As well as the camping department. Set aside about 3 hours to explore the store. The service is excellent. They have ample parking and the toilets are always clean. It also has access through the shopping center. May you enjoy your purchases.
