This store is a disaster! The clothing section is the worst. Couldnt find a shirt in my size and decided to drive to the one in Harlingen. That store is immaculate compared to this one. Staff folding and sorting clothes, registers checking people out quickly, and shoe area organized. Went to the one in Corpus yesterday and it was even cleaner! The one in Brownsville either has a management problem or some filthy customers.

The store is disgusting! I hadnt visited it for too long and I was so surprised, everything is messy, the shoes dont have a pair, they are mixed up, there are empty boxes, everything is dirty, I dont know what happened to this store but Im surprised that it hasnt closed yet I had ordered online once and it was terrible service and a long wait, but walking into the store in person and seeing that mess left me very disappointed.

I have never seen such a disgusting store. Very unsafe and unsanitary. I enjoy shopping at the Academy and maybe I got so used to walking into stores that are very clean, safe, and well managed. I saw clothes dumped everywhere s, unable to get around and see the clothes, mismatched shoes, trash all over, food underneath the clothing racks. I m wondering who is in charge of the store. If the store looks this bad, I can imagine the leadership must be twice as bad. Swap meet looks much better for sure. Sad!!!

Everything is extremely sloppy. Clothing and especially shoes are chaos when trying to find one pair. It literally looks like an all clearance aisle. This was also a couple of hours after they opened.

The Academy store in Brownsville is very disorganized. Starting from the outside trash cans, the entrance, clothes all over the sales floor and the restrooms in need of attention. Basically the store is turned upside down. Im not sure if this is because of short staff issues but please address to management. Dont get me wrong the deals are great but the issue needs to be addressed so we can enjoy shopping there again.

The Brownsville store is not comparable to the Harlingen, TX one. The Brownsville store has filthy restrooms and only 2 employees were assigned to the cashiers and there were plenty of associates on site. This store is never organized nor clean. The harlingen one is clean and organized.

Store is a disaster! No carts inside or outside, several employees standing around looking at people and 1 working a register with at least a dozen customers in line. Employees unhelpful. Customer service is zero stars, store is zero stars. Store smells like sewer. The only reason for 1 star is the price of a cast iron pot and propane burner was acceptable. Management needs fired!!

Visited academy store in Brownsville, Texas his past week. My first impression of this store was the entrance to the store. Windows look like they havent been cleaned in a long while. Trash all over the front. Very unorganized, very low on inventory and no shopping carts. Well I hope acouple of this issues are because its a busy store. But the appearance to the entrance is bad.

Took in 6 shirts to exchange for a smaller size .had a receipt for 4 and the other 2 got as a Father s Day gift .when at the register I brought the same items to exchange and cashier ended up wanting to charge me a difference due to shirts being regular price and the one I bought I got them on the bogo pricing ..plus the 2 I got as a gift he was giving me $5 credit only ..???? I was like I m only exchanging the sizes taking the exact same thing the store does not loose money cause the ones I m leaving in exchange you are selling them at regular price cashier just stared at me with no expression did not ask for assistance from the manger listening at the service desk ..I just told him to give me my original shirts back and left for them it was fine cause nothing else was said ..not the first time I receive bad service from this store plus it s seems like it s an outlet very dirty and disorganized no one cares about store appearance or customer service!!

The store looked like someone picked up the building and shook it. The clothing and shoes were all over the floor and the shelves. Then it looked like someone dropped off a bus load of kids from a reform school. Kids running everywhere and throwing balls, chasing each other, etc. If I were the owner and walked into that store, I would fire every employee and start over.

Environment of store is an extreme Waldo adventure. Items are upside down and is an overall messy environment. Only the walkways are a clear shot anywhere. Prices are high for retailers. Chances are you can look on the actual manufacturer website for cheaper price.

Something needs to be done in this store, i am 9 months pregnant and just wanted to price match a kids onsie they canned it on the website and it was not showing at all not even at regular price. The manager that says hes the owner of the store Myrick started telling me that as per policy they cant price match. I told him to print it out and he refused and told me that if i didnt leave i was gonna have to be removed forcefully. He needs to be fired and academy needs to change the policy. It is false advertising when you dont do what you say you do. The cashier said that other stores do it except for them. And he stated that no store does it. FIRE MYRICK this made me have more contractions than i already had. I feel sick to my stomach that others told him to calm down and he said i dont care who they are they aint messing with me I literally just asked for a price match he was the one with the attitude. I had to leave the store because i was having contractions and my kids were with me. SHAME ON YOU ACADEMY

Plenty of parking spaces to choose from and I had personally had a nice shopping experience when testing the gym equipment. Very big category of shoes to men, women, and kids from an assortment of brands. Lots of hunting and fishing gear for the folks getting ready to go out with plentiful of options to choose from and snacks in the checkout.

I called and it WAS in stock, they just werent going to get around to preparing it for me. Person on the phone said I could come in and ask for it and theyll get it for me and mark it as picked up.
