Located in West Brownsville, this outdoor park if full of surprises. Avid bird watchers have sighted red-crowned, yellow-headed, lilac-crowned and red-lored parrots. This park also offers an area for children with special needs. In May of 2013 a skate park was added on the existing basketball court. Amenities available at this 24- acre park include outdoor playing fields, basketball and tennis courts, children’s playgrounds and concessions. A recreation building with a multi-purpose gymnasium. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the park, a game of basketball with friends on the courts, host a picnic. There is lots to do at the park!

A well-loved park with playgrounds, baseball diamond, soccer field, swimming pool, a skateboard park, and an adjacent paved walking/biking path. Reserving a star because I couldn t find public restrooms, and there was lots of litter and full trash bins. Otherwise, a great place enjoyed by people of all ages. If you re lucky, you ll see the parrots come through before dusk near the middle of the park and the skate park.

We came to see the parrots roost for the evening and could not believe how much trash there was around the park. The trash bins were full and there is nowhere for recycling. Lots and lots of water bottles laying everywhere. It is a nice park with a lot of kids playing.

Curbs by the kickball fields are full of leaves. Palm branches fall daily, but they are not picked up. The park is full most afternoons and evenings. The park had been cleaned up. New nets for the tennis court ate still needed. The park is still a good place to walk. However, it needs major maintenance. Piles of debris and brancheshave been by big trash bins for weeks. Curbs are full.of leaves, and trash receptacles are full. The sidewalk to the new walking trail is obstructed by a tree. The branches need to be trimmed or someone is going to get scratched. Walk the dog every day...just wished they had a dog park so you could let the dog loose. Plenty of space to put one up.

It is a fairly clean area and in very good condition, there are basketball, tennis, baseball courts and a Skatepark Playground: The childrens play area is nice even though the children are supposed to go and play there, many of the time they are in the skatepark, this being a bit dangerous for them since they can get hit with a skateboard or get hit. They may fall on one of the ramps Toilets: The bathrooms are mostly clean and have drinking fountains. Dog-friendliness: Most of the time Ive been there there are people who are walking their pets

We come to see the parrots that flock to this location between 5 and 6pm every day. We are usually in the valley at least once a year. They are trying to improve the park. It is a great park for the kids and adults alike. It has a gymnasium, soccer fields, baseball fields, a skateboard park, and great bird watching. It also has a paved walking and biking trail that runs next to the park. The park could use some more cosmetic and structural repairs. If I was rich, I would make a donation to help improve it. I think it could be one of the greatest parks in Texas for everyone to enjoy with the footprint it covers. Playground: Its nice, but could be improved. Toilets: There is one bathroom that is open, and the others are closed, and were closed last year, due to the need of roof repairs, etc.... Dog-friendliness: It a great place to walk your dogs. Picnic area: The picnic tables are nice, but there is only a few of them.

Is a good place to enjoy with family and friends. And is perfect to do exercise or ride your bike. You know what, if you have a soccer team you can compete with other team because there is foot ball field for that sport. If you have a patineta theres a spot for too,if you like basketball you can find a spot there too. And for yours babies they have a playground for them too. It have everything for each of you, come and enjoy this beautiful park . Even for bird lovers, they are slot of trees, and birds loves trees you know. Is good to walks yours doggies, but please bring a bag to pickup hes eses or pupus.

Great park that has been here decades. The latest addition was the skate park that replaced the basketball courts, there are plenty of ramps and features for skateboarders. There are several leagues for different age groups for soccer, baseball and softball. The park definitely comes alive after 6pm.

The park has improved to an extent from when I was a kid. Some of the same issues are still prevalent, parking, traffic flow. Two lanes of traffic go the same way and people still want to park in the traffic Lanes.

A nice little city park with sports fields and a skate park section. This place is great to observe the parrots in the RGV. About an hour before sunset you can hear the parrots coming in, and then you get to see the spectacle of seeing them fly into the trees.

At first you hear the squeak and cackle of at least a hundred parrots as the sun sets. They move from tree to tree as the surrounding home owners pop off fireworks. Finally they settled in a large tree closest to the smoke stack.

Such a filthy park! Smells like p*ss, inappropriate writings and drawings, and almost everything is broken. I would not bring my kids to play here. It needs maintenance and upgrading!
