My family takes this food home at least 4 times a month which is a lot for our family. I m typically very picky about meat I consume especially with gristle and fatty bits. Every time we get brisket from here, I m never complaining. Additionally, their fries are unlike anything I ever had. They re simple and delicious

The food here is always consistently incredible! Chicken fried steak and their bacon ranch burger are must trys... And the service is also incredible. The wait staff, the kitchen, the manager Chelsea (shes a little crazy) and the wonderful people at the drive-thru window. They are a joy to visit with every time no exception! Actually the drive-thru people are pretty crazy too - and it all works together to make a totally great experience

Great food. Super tasty. Seems like they have young and inexperienced wait staff. Im not sure whats going on with their drive thru window but I think people make orders and then just wait there for it to be made. For those of us who make orders by phone and pick them up when theyre ready it is aggravating to sit behind a car for 20 minutes in the drive thru. Parking: Parking area is small. It would be wise to carpool if youre going as a group.

Absolutely perfect! The brisket sandwich was perfect.I liked the spicy sauce. I prefer sliced brisket and thats what they gave me. Next time I get extra pickles and onions. Thats not much of a regret. Great stuff! Tender and tasty. Food

Backyard BBQ is on my top 3 restaurants to get BBQ so far. Brisket quesadilla is a must, pictured below is the family platter 1lb of sausage 1lb of brisket With 2 sides (Potato Salad,Bubba fries ) With a additional order of 1/2 lb of ribs PS they do have onion rings, *not on menu* but only upon request.

UPDATE: June 16, 2024-Decided Fathers Day would be a good time to revisit. Went early and it was a good thing. Really got busy. To there credit, everyone handled the crowd very well. Got my Bubba Tator and it was excellent. First time customer. Looked busy from the parking lot. Lots of people. Very friendly host and server. The pulled pork sandwich and loose pork was excellent. Only down side was I did order a stuffed baker which didnt make it on the order.

I pick up food here for me & my parents all the time and usually everything is great, yesterday 6/16 was probably the worst. Ordered 2 meat plates (ribs and brisket) and a burger. The ribs definitely didn t taste fresh and one plate had 1 rib and the other had 2. My step mom got the burger and it was bright red/super raw, she ended up just handing it over to the dog. Luckily she had a baked potato even though that was missing an ingredient she ordered. Not sure what s going on here?? We love this place but was extremely disappointed this last order.

Absolutely great tasting BBQ and menu items. I am a BBQ snob and I approve! Jacob was an exceptional waiter and provided exceptional service. Only complaint that I have is that some regulars sit a drink for 3-4 hours and insert themselves into conversations and also believe they have some kind of say on operations/seating. Quite odd, but the rude lady was drinking so there is that. Not a reflection on staff or owners but mentioning because I truly felt like I would rather just order out instead of dining in from now own.

We eat at Backyard frequently and really enjoy the food. Sadly, tonight, the service was horrible! We sat at a table in the very back. I noticed a sign on the biggest table that said Reserved. We were told that the whole area was reserved and we would have to move. Not a big deal, really. The server, presumably for the new table we were seated at, walked by us at least four times and never acknowledged us, but served the other two people who were also moved out of the resrerved area and were at the table next to us. It would have been acceptable to me if he had at least said he would be back to get our drinks and take our order. I told the hostess on the way out why we were walking out All she said was sorry. We will try going back again, but tonight was VERY disappointing. Managers... do better with your training for all staff!

Backyard BBQ 05-29-24 Nice open country atmosphere. Friendly people. My family ate dinner here and the food and service was exceptional! I had the Fried Catfish Basket with a Side Salad and Thousand Island Dressing! The fish was hot and crispy with plenty of flavor. My daughter had the Hand Cut 16 oz. Ribeye with a Sid Salad with Ranch Dressing. The steak was cooked just right. It wasn t overly seasoned and tasted great with a little salt added served with a side of Green Beans. My grandson had the Fried Onion Burger with Fries. The onion rings on the burger gave it a tasty crunch and extra flavor. Fries were crispy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside. We had an order of Fried Mushrooms with Ranch! That s my favorite. We got a half Smoked Chicken to go and tasted it when we got home! It was moist and tender with a smoky flavor. Our waiter was totally Awesome! He was right there if we needed anything and made sure our drinks were full. He had our to go order ready when we finished our meals. Overall, today was a 10 out of 10. We will definitely be back!

Our main waitress was great! She was not the one who delivered our food . We were disappointed that the prices were taken off the menu. Probably will not be returning just for that reason. One of us ordered the sliced beef brisket sandwich and they realize they had given us a chopped beef and immediately whisked it away although we would have been happy to keep the chopped beef rather than having to wait another 10 minutes. I appreciate that they were trying to make it right but The option to choose would have been nice.

My 3rd time here, so I wanted to be sure before I made a review. Unfortunately, the meats that were served to me each time were extremely overcooked, not really fresh, and just unappetizing. I made my experience from my last visit known with the hopes of some fresh BBQ.., unfortunately, it was the same as before. By far the worse bbq I have ever eaten. ***update 3.17.24 Well Ive been coming back to this place at least once a year because its been so good. I love the chicken Fried steak. It was good this time but It was to soaked in grease and the breading wasnt as crispy as it should be. Not to mention theyre passing on the cost of doing business to their customers charging us to 3% for using a card. For this reason I wont come back. ********* Update-- I am riding down again tomorrow- 4th of july 2018 - my wife and i on my new goldwing. (new to me) This is our place to go for a days worth of riding. This is our spot now. I drove 150 miles for some chicken fried steak. I was not disappointed. Big steak home made gravy was out of this world. Home made onion rings were top notch. I seem someone getting s brisket topped baked potato and that thing looked like a football. Well worth the ride. ** Update ** going back tomorrow....... 150 miles and will love the ride down and back and enjoy my lunch.

I only had the brisket stuffed potato and really enjoyed it. Brisket tasted great. It was big and could hardly could finish it. I did order extra sour cream. Our first visit here. The fried mushrooms were just right. The famous Bubba Tater was very tasty, with brisket, sour cream and chives. Found this hidden gem, decided to stop in for BBQ. Nice inside, love the picnic tables, the guys like the TVs on every wall. Fast and friendly service. We were told they were short staffed, but still were seated within five minutes. Placed our order, and the food was at our table maybe ten minutes later. The catfish was superb and made my day. This place is always busy. I finally talked the family into trying it out, and we were not disappointed. The food was served pretty quickly and was delicious. I did notice that they have made some changes to their menu, but they still offer almost everything. I recommend this place if youre looking for something new, and it seems to be a real gem. Its a little bit tucked away, so it wont be seen by accident. Im glad we visited this restaurant and we will go back for sure.

The staff is super friendly and the place has a great atmosphere, awesome place to catch whichever sports game you might want to watch of if you re into mma ufc that will be on too. Eat here frequently and food is good most times. However, many times Ive called in my order only to get to the drive-thru and be behind someone who ordered AT the window. Then I am stuck waiting on their order to be prepared. It could take 10-15 mins or more depending on what they ordered. Ive heard other folks complain about this as well. Usually when this happens, I get out of the drive-thru, park and go inside. Today after waiting behind someone for over 10 mins in the drive-thru, I called staff inside and asked if the guy was going to be there a while longer. The lady said he probably ordered at the window and they were preparing his food. She said I was welcome to come in and get my order (like I didnt know that). Told her I felt it was wrong to allow that and make folks who call in wait so long. Her defense was that the Mexican food place across the street allowed that. Really dont care about the place across the street. She was comparing apples to oranges. Personally never waited long at all in the drive-thru at that place. The girl was short with me, trying to end the call, and just plain rude. I did go inside and a manager had my food. She apologized for the issue and the rudeness of the girl who she said worked behind the bar. The simple solution would be to have everyone who places their order AT the window pull up and wait so other customers could pick up their CALL-IN orders. Although, that would require an employee to run orders outside. Yeah, cant see that happening unfortunately but it would be the solution. Its ridiculous really.

More than just barbecue. Steaks, burgers, sandwiches, fish and shrimp also served. Something for every member of the family. I had brisket and ribs which were delicious and hubby had a hand breaded fried steak that he said was real good. We ordered fried mushrooms but they were not that good. The hand breaded onion rings had a good flavor but needed a little longer cook time. The wait staff was super friendly and food was prepared and brought out in good time. All the seating is picnic tables except for the 2 bar hight tables in the bar and bar stools. We will come back again. Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking in front of the doors.

Our experience was great. Sat at the bar and I belive her name was Sharon waited on us. She was great. I got the patty melt with onion rings and it was wonderful. My husband got a meat plate. Hes a bbq master himseld and said it was great but would have been better if he would have gotten it wheb it was fresh vs a day old other than that the green beans tasteea little sour but our server informed the kitchen. So easy fix. Overall though, great food, atmosphere, and service. Thank yall.

This place continues to get worse and is definitely in decline. This place is run by kids and the customer service is absolutely terrible. Good luck trying to enjoy a meal or get service if you arent one of the low IQ locals who continue to clutter and overrun the establishment. Do yourself a favor, and check out one of the many wonderful BBQ spots in Belton or Temple instead.

I ordered the catfish with hush puppies and fries. Catfish tasted like unseasoned eggs with flavorless breading. Fries were only mildly offensive, school lunch grade. And hush puppies were the best part and they were no better than a 5/10. The people I went with got brisket and it looked much better, and service despite the disappointing meal was great. Despite my bad rating I could maybe recommend it if you avoid seafood.

Great place to eat. I got the spud with sausage which was an odd pairing but I knew what I ordered so thats on me. We did have a decent sized group but I ran out of tea and gave up on refills. Otherwise it would be five stars. Went again. Food was delicious, got the two meat plate. Meat was a tad cold but flavor was amazing. I also ordered 1/2 lb of ribs but never got them. We have gone here for many years, long before it expanded. This place has gone down hill!! We had a Server who doesnt listen did not bring condiments we asked for several times. I dont know how they call it bbq,because it was awful. My husband ordered brisket with no BBQ sauce and still was not good. I think it was boiled not from any pit. I would think twice before eating there.But margaritas where good.

As Im sitting in the car, waiting for part of our meal that was missed, I have to admit that Im frustrated. We ordered our food at 8:25 according to our ticket. We ordered 2 burger baskets, a sweet spicy brisket sandwich and a crispy chicken sandwich basket, along with 2 sides of fries. The guy on the phone was really sweet and quick, but I should have had him repeat the order. We arrived to pick up our food at 8:40 and it came out pretty quickly. My husband asked me to check everything since I placed the order. Sadly, his chicken sandwich came out as tenders and we were missing the two sides of fries. So he went back in to get the fries. He didnt even mention the sandwich because we are trying to get back for fireworks. It is now 9:07 and we just received our fries. Hopefully we see the fireworks but Im pretty unhappy with how this happened. My husband did say that the bartender was wonderful and apologized several times. As it stands though, only the fries will be hot and thats frustrating. Thank you to the staff that did do a great job.

This BBQ place used to be the great place to go. Owners know have shifted focus to their other restaurant and it shows greatly. Food is still good but service is down, all kids working their and in the kitchen. Hear them yelling and screaming in the kitchen. Orders are not right half the time. Order a 1/2 lb. of ribs and you get 2 (this happens 3 times in a row) and when you question it they say its close. Why not charge like every other place for ribs (by the rack or half rack)? Drive thru orders have been missing items. All this attention to detail is because its a bunch of teenagers with no adult management oversight. True shame too because like it stated food quality is good just not same portions and service is extremely lacking maturity.

Went through drive through ordered two meat plate. Got home only three pieces of brisket and 3 pieces of sausage a spoon of potato salad and beans. When I called the girl was very rude to me and would not give me the manager or her own name after she was a smart mouth. I will not go back. Such horrible people. The manager finally answered and said she was too busy with customers to take care of me. Never mind I was a customer too.

Food is great service is good my only issue is theyre wheelchair ramp is nit to code and me and my wife have fallen with our infant in or arms because of the ramp and small sidewalk Imy mother told them she will report them to the city if it is not fixed I dont want to sue them because they would be shut down I like the food but something needs to be done and we are not the only ones it has happened to several other people have fallen not to mention no employee come out to see if me or my infant was ok and my mother even went in to ask for them to bring napkins and no one came outside

Im not sure what happened with this visit with the service was very slow. Not very attentive to what we needed. Took forever to get refills. Cook forever to get our order with the food. Just wasnt that great that day that we went. Overall. I was very disappointed. Ive heard so many big things about backyard barbecue and they just did not stand up to the hype. Ill give them one more chance again. Maybe next weekend and hopefully itll be better and Ill put out a better review if they are.

I have been coming here for years and years and love this place. My entire family eats here, all my friends eat here too. For that I wont leave less than 5 stars. But today I went in after a long morning on the water. We were starving. The waitress kept letting people stop her on her way to us. She even apologized when she got it us for that. I get it. It happens. But my major gripe, is when we were actually ordering, a lady from a table next to us interrupted the waitress and us to ask for something. So I spoke to the lady next to us and without raising my voice, asked her if we could please finish taking our order. The waitress looked at me and scolded me saying excuse me! You dont have to be rude. So heres the problem, she should never allow people to interrupt her from taking an order. She can politely let them know, she will be with them in a second. That easy. I may or may not be back. Depends on how I feel about this tomorrow.

We love this place but last two meals have been mediocre. Tonight the gravy for the chicken fried steak was water with a dab of flour. The catfish plate was tasteless as if they forgot the salt and pepper and hush puppies were not even done. Sure hope this is just a rough day at the grill.

Use to love this place. Ordered take out, even tipped. Kitchen screwed up the order. Left out 3 salads, messed up on 2 orders of double fries. Had to go back twice to get the order correct, which didnt happen. By the time we ate, it was cold. NEVER AGAIN!!! Came here to eat after a family member said it was good. Ordered two meat plates. Service was good, friendly employees. Food was so-so. Fries were served cold and soggy. Sausage was decent. Chicken was tasty but very dry, and brisket managed to be tender and tough at the same time. Also very dry. BBQ sause was very vinegary and not much depth of flavor. It was OK but we wouldn t go out of our way to eat here again when Miller s in Belton exists. This was pricey, and only meh.

Very disappointed. This place came highly recommended. We looked it up on the website and saw that they closed at 10:00 p.m. we drove 50 miles out of our way and got there by 9:30.
