I have been going here for years. The staff is always willing to answer any questions. When they are putting out stock or tracking an item. If you approach them they immediately stop to help you. The store is clean and well stocked.

I love the selection of products , and the employees are not excellent they are better , OUTSTANDING !!! , I love those place !! If I could change one thing it would be the checkout process , open more lanes to let the customers flow in flow out nice and smooth , its not the existing casheers they are outstanding there just isnt enough of them to make check out smooth cutting down the wait time , I waited 20 minutes to check out , simple open more lanes they are there just no one running them ,

Terrible customer service. Spent 25 minutes in line, all the shelves are torn up and cluttered. When I finally got to the register my 8 year old sons gloves that had a 25 dollar tag on them rung up as 35. So I mentioned it. Spend 5 minutes looking on there own website to say they were now 40 dollars? When she scanned the tag again it said 14.99. But they still insisted they had to now charge 40. Skip this place.

I buy all my shoes at Academy. Today I brought my shoes back to replace due to raveling. I could not find my receipt and I know the policy. Customer Service could not approve so I asked to see the manager to discuss. I did not know Dave was on duty. Dave immediately recognized me as a frequent customer and with a big smile, he immediately took care of my return. Baytown Academy has fantastic service quality! Thank you Dave and staff!

The available selection fishing tackle is not great but Ive seen alot worse. Also would be nice to have more than one person capable being able to spool reels. I was told only one employee is able to provide this service and it would have to be after 530pm when he is working.

We have been standing in line for over 30 minutes with no movement.. The Supervisors need to pay attention to when the lines are backed up, to assist the cashiers. No extra lines are opening, just 2 isles to service 22 people.

I feel other Academys have a little more to offer. I dont know what it is, I feel like this place is missing something. I dont get the same vibe at this location as I do others. I have found some amazing deals on Columbia shirts and north face jackets. If you look hard enough you can find a good deal. What happened to all the Houston Oiler stuff? For that alone you get 3 stars.

Most of the time, I come here searching for Mexico Jersey or Shirts of my preferred teams, and most of the time, they do not have it. Other academy in different areas they do, and its annoying since I have to drive out of my way to purchase it. But they always have American Teams or USA ones. I wonder why that is? I dont want to assume that discrimination or stereotype. Hope they fix this.

Update in May 2024. Im revising my review to three stars, after a chance visit to see if they had any cool fitted L BCG RUN muscle tank top in a nice color left. The large sizes are the first to go at Academy. So, luckily, this Academy had one left. Katlynn the sweetest cashier I have met at Academy so far rang up $14.99, and immediately gave me a discount of 10% for being a veteran, due to her keenly observing my US Navy ball cap! Well done, Kat. However, Academy named the tank an ebony -social engineering is now at Academy lol, a.k.a.(black), mens runner tank. And besides, They were offering only a limited military discount until July 4th. Not annually. This is why they are still getting low stars in their review by me. 2023 -After three attempts to find a wall scanner that would give me a price of 3.99 for a pack of jelli snug plugs, (unpriced reusable corded earplugs, on the empty rack), I found a sweet female employee walking aroynd who had a computer with her. Kyndal at the customer counter, made sure she was loud enough and more, to call me over to ring it up. When she asked if I wanted a bag, she showed her rudeness skill level by not listening and quickly replied with a loud huh?

I needed help getting 10 ice chests. The young man I asked was more than willing to help. I told him go ahead and finish what he was doing, but he was getting ready to clock put and leave. I told him I could get someone else, but he insisted that he would help. He got a roll cart, loaded the ice chests, took them to the feont, i checked out and he rolled them to my vehicle and loaded them. Thanks Aaron for being a man of integrity, being kind and so helpful.

I prefer you not to take out your firearm in the store... no guns. Told him it wasnt a gun and wanted to measure to see if I could fit....not snug enough to me. Man wasnt a bother, just usual safety protocol, I suppose. What I got is not a firearm, but Im glad... because the weapons are extremely high. And with it comes great responsibility. Responsibility I dont wanna deal with. Anyways, the story is about a holster. Found them for a nice price but no idea if I could return them if I didnt like em. And ever since that encounter with me getting full price for bullets that was on sale, I aint falling for it.
